The first thing which alerted Naruto to the imminent danger wasn't the sudden light which seemed to have come out of nowhere, neither was it the sound of ripples and smell of metal in the air.

No, the first thing which alerted him was the feeling of dread in the air. The exhuming suppression which surrounded him at a moment's notice.

The second thing, was Saber's shout.

"Get Down!!"

He quickly ran towards Taiga and tackled her to the ground, even as he saw Shirou doing the same thing with Sakura.

Then came the storm of steel which obliterated the wall behind them.

From sword's to spears to halberds and even shields, the weapon's which came through the wall were regal and beautiful, and he couldn't help but admire them from his place on the ground.

It wasn't till a full minute later when they finally receded and they were allowed to get up.

He saw as Saber quickly stood up from the ground and summoned her armor and invisible sword.

"Get out of here now!" she shouted, "Protect them Naruto!"

And then she jumped out through the hole in the wall, probably to go confront whoever was shooting the swords.

He turned back to the weapons on the ground, just in time to see as they disappeared in golden particles

" Weird" he thought.

But he didn't have time to focus on that as he grabbed Taig and quickly moved towards the opposite door from where the swords had come through.

Taiga herself was obviously shaken up by what was happening, she looked to Naruto as though she would fall over anytime now and her whole body shook like a leaf in the wind.

"W-what's going on Naruto? What was that sword? And did Saber just change clothes?"

Taiga spouted question after question while holding onto Naruto. Naruto looked her and saw she was justifiably shaken up from all this. She had just been enjoying a simple birthday party a while ago after all.

"It's going to fine Taiga." Naruto said as he looked in her eyes, "Just trust me okay. I'll explain everything to you later, so please just trust me"

Taiga looked in his eyes and decided to believe in him, trusting that he wouldn't lie to her. She nodded and allowed herself to be led out of the room.

Naruto held onto her as he looked forward with guilt in his hand. He regretted doing this, but it was necessary to lie to her.

She wouldn't even remember all this tomorrow after all.

Shirou ducked through the doors and past the fallen debris littered everywhere. Beside him, he saw Sakura looking particularly put off by everything happening around her.

He understood her fears. This wasn't exactly what he had expected to happen today, all he expected was a simple party and then maybe some games later on.

Instead, what they got was ballistic weapons crashing through his walls

Crash! Crash!

Shink! Shink! Shink!

"Damn it!!"

He heard the sound of even more swords as they crashed through the walls behind him, while some of them were deflected by Saber.

He looked behind him and nodded towards Naruto as he saw him coming through the door to the house.

He got outside ad looked around the corner to the gates. And what he saw there made his eyes widen in shock.

Standing on a metal pole, looking down at the house was a man dressed in black slacks and a black jacket over a white shirt. He had a cocky smile on his face as he looked down towards saber who stood proud in front of him.

But that wasn't what shocked him. What shocked him was what was behind him. Weapons, multitudes of weapons, from spears to halberds to shield and daggers.

And swords.

Multitudes of swords.

And as he looked towards them, one word echoed in his mind, over and over, till it imprinted itself into his psyche.

Brother.

Shink! Shink! Shink! Shink!

The man in black released the weapons on saber and to Shirou they moved in slow motion, giving to him knowledge of their make-up and history. Knowledge of their very existence.

A man in golden armor sitting on a throne, in his hand was a sword presented to him by another man kneeling before him.

"It is my greatest creation, Lord Gilgamesh. I implore you use it to your satisfaction."

"Hmph~ for your sake, I hope it does not disappoint"

Saber moved like lightening, fast and deadly, stopping the swords shot by the man – Gilgamesh - in their tracks. Shirou noticed that she was taking the fight away from the house, giving them time to escape.

He looked back towards Gilgamesh and couldn't help but be in awe. For someone to possess so much fire power, what sort of hero was he in his time

Gilgamesh stood on a cliff looking down on a gathering of millions who opposed him. In their hands were weapons of mass destruction, sword and clubs, spears and knives, as they charged at him relentlessly.

Gilgamesh scoffed as he looked to the woman standing beside him.

"You see that Enkidu, lambs to the slaughter"

He put his hand to the side and brought * * forward.

"Tear the heavens asunder, *!!"

The winds howled

Shirou shivered as a new memory hit him. That man was no mere hero, he was something far more dangerous than that, far, far more dangerous.

They had to get out of here.

He grabbed onto Sakura and began running towards the gates. Naruto and Taiga had gotten past him when he was distracted with his memories, but he caught up to them easily enough.

"Come on Shirou! Let's go!"

They were about to cross the gates when they were stopped in their tracks by three swords which dug deep into the ground front of them.

They looked up and there was Gilgamesh, standing before them with the same cocky smile in place.

"To turn your back on the king. Does that not deserve death?"

"Gilgamesh!!"

Saber came running towards them and quickly put herself in between them and Gilgamesh. She had a few tears in her clothes, but other than that she looked okay.

"I'm sorry Shirou, he managed to distract me enough to escape"

Shirou heard her apology but that wasn't important to him right now

Gilgamesh stood in front of four men of large size. On his face was a scowl but his head was still held high. In his hand was an ornate sword

"Who do you think are? I am king and I will do as I wish, I do not care for your permission or approval"

"Should you do this, then we will take what you treasure most from you King of heroes. You were created to answer to us, and that is what you will do"

Gilgamesh looked back at them with a sneer.

"Touch Enkidu, and I'll kill you all"

……

"The king of heroes?" Shirou muttered.

Gilgamesh felt his brow rise when he heard this, he didn't think any of the paltry humans existing in this time knew of his existence.

"Oh~ how refreshing, someone who is aware of their ancestral figure. You may be better that most"

Saber came to stand in front of him, cutting off Gilgamesh's view of him. Gilgamesh turned his head toward her and smiled.

"Saber, I didn't think you would miss me so much. All you needed to do was come with me before and we would have been together forever, but instead you chose death. What a stubborn woman you are. But it is the stubborn ones, who are the most fun to break!"

"Move!" saber shouted

Shirou and Naruto dragged the girls in their hands to the side quickly as Gilgamesh released even more weapons on the spot they had just been standing. There were four portals open behind him and he simply stood there keeping saber busy with the portals.

Naruto took Taiga and moved towards Shirou.

"Shirou, I called Ruler, he should be here any second now. I don't think Saber has enough mana to keep this up for a very long time"

Naruto looked towards Saber and saw she had a pained look on her face, it was obvious to him that she had to hold back to prevent using up too much mana.

Saber deflected another sword and dodged around a second one. She threw her sword up and stopped a third, fourth and fifth one before rolling gracefully around a sixth.

She cursed in her mind when she felt for how much mana she had left. Only enough for one Excalibur, maybe two if she was prepared to drop dead immediately after. And that wasn't an option right now.

She knew Gilgamesh was holding back, a lot. She didn't think she had ever seen him going all out before, even against Rider in the last war.

If she were to throw an Excalibur now and he managed to stop it with his EA, then it would be finished for her.

Sh looked behind her to ensure she was still protecting Shirou and his friends, before looking forward again and being forced to deflect another sword from Gilgamesh.

"Why do you still resist Saber? All I wanted was a confrontation with a particular servant; but that girl, her presence here is what brought all this upon you. So how about I make you a deal. Give her over to me, and I'll let the rest of the children go, take it as a generous gift from your king"

All eyes turned towards Sakura who seemed to draw in on herself. She held onto Shirou and moved to hide herself behind him while Shirou moved in front of her protectively.

"You cannot have her, Gilgamesh" Shirou said.

Gilgamesh looked to him with a sneer

"And who gave you the right to talk, cur?"

He opened a portal and shot a sword towards Shirou, but Saber came to the rescue again and stopped it.

"You can't have her. I won't allow it" she said.

Gilgamesh smiled at her ferocity. This was the exact reason he wanted her in the past, and it is the reason he will have her now.

"Well you can do whatever you want saber, this house is covered in a multi-dimensional shield of my making. No one may come in or go out of it without my permission. So I suggest you –"

Crash!

Boom!

Something suddenly dropped from the sky, shattering the shield protecting the house like glass and blowing dust up from its landing.

The thing in the dust stood up and dusted off its shoulders.

"Whew, that was one hell of a shield. Almost took me two minutes to break through it" it said.

It walked out of the dust and looked towards the people gathered in the courtyard with a raised eyebrow.

"You there Naruto?"

Naruto came forward with a sigh of relief.

"AH, Kurama, you finally came"

Kurama shrugged at him.

"Yeah, I was held up somewhere when you called."

He turned and looked towards the man standing atop the gates to the house. He looked at him properly and couldn't help the slight frown which came upon his features. It was him, it was definitely him. The golden armor and crown were gone, but it was definitely Gilgamesh.

He spoke to saber without turning around

"Take them and run Saber"

Saber looked at him in confusion. She wouldn't be doing as he asked every time, this was just as much her fight as it was his.

She was about to voice her displeasure when he suddenly shouted.

"I said take them and run now!!!!!!"

"KURAMA!!!!!!!"

The world exploded in gold.
