Summary

For all intents and purposes, it looked like Beck was pinning Jade to the wall and smacking her around. And now, everyone had seen it. This wasn't bruises on her wrists that she could hide with bracelets, or a bite mark deep on his shoulder which meant he couldn't wear his usual 'vest and open shirt' combo for a week. This was a look into the deepest, most private part of their relationship; and it was broadcast for everyone to see and judge. And judge incorrectly.

When a video clip of Jade and Beck gets released on 's gossip page, it causes the entire school to judge Beck and Jade's relationship. With Beck now looking like public enemy number one and Jade being treated like glass by the student population, they have to figure out a way to get out of the mess with their reputations still intact.

A (hopefully) realistic view of teenagers in an unconventional sexual relationship.

Chapter Summary

It's the boys turn to discuss the current situation. Robbie, as always, looks like he wants to take notes.

Authors Note

This one is maybe not quite up to my usual standards - believe it or not, I have no clue what 18 year old boys talk about when alone. And I also found this chapter a bit of a struggle. As weird as it sounds, I have no issue with writing girls discussing sex, but with boys I find it kinda gross - steers from funny and gossipy to kinda sleazy; so it's a bit more technical than sexy details.

Also, Caramel_cinnamon on AO3 in made a good point in their comment about something I'm wanting to explore; that the 'spiciness' of Bade's sex life isn't just Jade having Daddy Issues (although ohmygod SO many Daddy Issues to unpack with that girl) and liking being dominated by a guy because she craves paternal attention. Beck's just as kinky and likes all that stuff too.

Chapter 6: and you keep me in with those hips

Beck sighed as him, Andre and Robbie sat in his RV. He really just wanted to spend the night with Jade, to be honest. Today had shaken him to his core. As vain as it sounded, he was used to being...well, loved. He was used to students falling over themselves to offer him help or roles or even just to talk with him. Today, he'd been glared at, sneered at, threatened and jumped in the bathrooms – and it would have happened a few more times that day if not for the fact that Andre and Robbie had been there almost constantly (although Robbie wasn't much help to be honest, but Andre was surprisingly built under his hooded sweaters and jeans).

He just wasn't used to being the 'bad guy' at school, even in his relationship with Jade. She was the bad one, the angry, violent, shouting one and he was the nice guy, the one who could calm her down and had a friendly smile for almost everyone; and although that sounded kind of mean to Jade, it was the way she liked it too. She didn't like people simpering at her for attention or giving her false overtures of friendship. She wanted respect and fear, and she got them in spades. Now all that was flipped on its head; Jade was getting nothing but simpers and platitudes and offers of comfort and he was getting glares and fear.

"Beck man? Earth to Beck!" He was started out of his thoughts by Robbie waving a hand in front of his face and jerked back a little. "Sorry...you've just been glaring at the floor for 5 minutes. It's your turn to play." He waved tossed the xbox controller onto Beck's lap.

"Sorry guys. I'm not really in the mood to play anything today." He shrugged, putting the controller on the seat next to him. "You know. What with everyone at school thinking I'm an abusive asshole."

Andre and Robbie shared a glance. They knew it was bothering him more than he let on at school, where he acted as if he didn't know what was being said. Unlike Robbie, Beck wasn't used to being rejected or disliked. He was a genuinely likable and charismatic guy who people flocked too. If people disliked Beck, it was out of jealousy, not any real personal reason.

"Well...it's like you said. It'll all blow over, right?" Robbie shrugged a little. "It'll disappear in a week or two."

"A lot can happen in a week Robbie. My entire reputation could be ruined." He sighed heavily and moved to the fridge, grabbing out a few cans of beer and passing them out to the two teens. "I know my demographic for roles when I graduate. As much as I dislike them, my best bet is teen romcoms and coming of age movies, until I make a name for myself." It was true – those of the gang into acting (So him, Tori and Jade, although Tori was still toying with focusing more on music) all slotted into specific roles, at least until they made a name for themselves. Tori would be ideal for sweet, syrupy teen romance movies or family fun adventures. Jade was the most versatile of them all, he supposed; she would be perfect for angsty teen dramas, high school movies as the popular bitchy girl or misunderstood weird girl, or something with magic or the supernatural. And he would be ideal for the cheesy netflix coming of age movies teen girls seemed to consume by the truckload, or romantic comedies. "What director in their right mind would cast a guy who spent his last year of high school hounded by rumours about being an abusive boyfriend in a role like that?"

"But...you're the one who wanted to just ignore it. If you'd just done what Jade suggested and put it on the Slap, it wouldn't go away but it wouldn't be as bad." Andre pointed out, eyebrow raised. Sure, some people would assume it was just Jade covering for Beck, but he was pretty sure Beck had enough goodwill stored up over his years at HA to make most of the population believe him.

"I know...but I meant what I said too. If it gets out...imagine how it'll look for Jade. Sure, it won't affect her future as much, but in the like, immediate future? You know how bad the rumors are already in school. It'll just get worse." No one spoke about the rumors in front of Beck, or even Andre due to his close friendship with both Jade and Beck, but Robbie was often overlooked and ignored when he wasn't with the rest of the gang and heard all too well the rumors surrounding Jade and her...sexual preferences. It started way back in 8th grade when puberty seemed to hit her hard and fast, and seemingly overnight she went from 'That creepy weird kid Jade' to 'Jade The Babe'. And since then, as they got older, rumors spread fast and loose about how she was 'freaky' in bed, with assholes always claiming to have 'hit that', even when she was dating Beck (and it got worse during their break up last year).

But just because Beck and Andre didn't hear them first hand, didn't mean they didn't hear of them. Beck had narrowly avoided being suspended at the end of Junior year due to punching a senior for talking about Jade in a less-than-pleasant way. He'd gotten 3 weeks detention but it was worth it. And Andre had destroyed original, master copies of multiple pieces of music in revenge for the rumors in the past, although the blame had never been placed on him, thankfully. In a performing arts school, doing something like that would get you expelled.

"We got your back, Beck. All of us. And I don't mean to sound big headed, but we're popular enough to counteract a lot of the hate. People know we wouldn't hang out with you if you were abusive." OK, so maybe not the whole gang was popular enough to help balance it out. But Andre and Tori, for sure, were popular enough. Cat was too, but people could very well just think she had no clue about what was going on. Jade was popular, but her word wouldn't hold weight in this matter – afterall, they'd just assume she was 'brainwashed' or being forced to defend him. The only concession was Robbie who, despite hanging out on a daily basis with 5 of the most popular (well, 4 now, as Beck was somehow now under Robbie on the HA totem pole of popularity) students in Hollywood Arts, still hadn't managed to be popular himself, only by extension. Which was pretty shitty, if Andre was fully honest. Sure, Robbie was weird but he was a good guy.

"What if Papa West finds out though..." Robbie asked tentatively, and it caused Beck's eyes to go wide and his breath to freeze in his chest.

"Oh fuck. I'm dead. He's going to murder me and then use his lawyer buddies to get off scot free." Beck stated in a blank voice.

"I'm sure that's not the case-"

"When we got back together, Papa West told me that money can make a lot of things happen. Including 'disappearing' the boy who broke his daughter's heart." They all called Jade's dad 'Papa West' simply because Jade had once loudly and sarcastically called him 'Pa-pa' with a posh English accent, and it just stuck. Mr West was less than impressed, of course. "And he was deadly serious. He's going to murder me and then bury me in the garden." Beck's voice was almost mechanical at this point, and his eyes unfocused, until Andre smacked the back of his head.

"Don't be an idiot. He wouldn't murder you." He rolled his eyes then smirked a little cheekily. "He'd pay someone else to do it."

"Oh thanks, that makes me feel better!" The half Indian boy scoffed but let out a huff of laughter and shook his head. "When I go missing, please point the police in the direction of Papa West. Because he's going to have me killed if he finds out. I'm just lucky he's out of town on business right now, because Ryder would no doubt use this as an excuse to get me out of the picture."

"You're fault for getting involved with rich, crazy, white people. I warned you when I first saw you with her. I swear, it's like a sitcom, hearing some of the stories Jade tells from her dads dinner parties." Andre chuckled. "Of course, I'm pretty sure this little tale of BDSM wouldn't make it into a sitcom. Maybe a gritty drama though."

"I guess now we know why you had those handcuffs, back when Jade was trying to kill Cat due to the whole...eyebrow fiasco." Robbie's eyes widened a little at his mentioning of the 'Eyebrow Escapade' as they had taken to calling it (although, never in front of Jade, who was still wazzed off about the entire thing). "Why did you still have them? It had been a while since you guys had split..."

Beck groaned at that. He'd hoped Robbie had enough tact not to bring up the whole...rough sex thing (because it wasn't really BDSM, despite what Andre said. It wasn't that severe or extreme, which Beck always related to that specific type of sex). Although Andre was partially to blame for it too, considering he was the one who brought up 'BDSM'.

"I dunno man. It's not like I had them in my bag or my locker. But I remembered they were still in my car from when me and Jade put all of our..." He sighed, then figured he may as well just come out and say it. What was it Jade always said when people insulted her for being a 'bitch' or a 'psychopath'? 'Own it and it can't be used against you'. "Fuck it, we put all of our sex toys and stuff in my car because you guys were all coming over, and we know how nosy you are. I guess that pair ended up being forgotten about when we brought it all back in."

He purposefully looked towards the ceiling as if exasperated, but really just didn't want to see his friends faces (specifically Robbie, because damn it, he knew the boy would ask questions. Andre wouldn't, both because he had the social skills to realise it wasn't something Beck really enjoyed talking about, along with the fact he wasn't curious about sex as a whole, mostly because he got quite enough action himself, despite not having a steady girlfriend. Robbie, however, was pretty much as close to a virgin as possible. Sure, he'd been kissed but he had never gone further. Put with the fact that Beck knew he kind of idolised him, Robbie always asked questions; cars, girls, clothes).

"Hang on...that pair? You have more than one pair?!"

He groaned again rubbing his hand over his eyes. "I mean...yes? I don't have a fucking collection of handcuffs, I'm not a sociopath or anything. We had that pair and then like, one or two that are a bit more...padded. Those ones had a tendency to scratch her wrists, so we never really used them after we got the others."

"I don't think I could use handcuffs." Andre admitted, pausing the game (that he was now playing by himself, as Beck hadn't opted to pick up the controller and Robbie hadn't either). "It'd feel too...I dunno...like it was forced? No judgement on you guys or anything, but I don't think I could do it."

Beck nodded. "I'm the same actually. Jade doesn't mind it but we tried once actually, y'know. Having sex with her in them and I just couldn't get into it." Sure, he had been turned on because...well, Jade was naked and ready in front of him and it was impossible not to be turned on when looking at such a glorious sight. "I like them for messing around beforehand, like foreplay. But it just feels...rapey actually having sex with them, you know? Especially since we like to be rougher. I can't tell if she's playfully struggling and fighting back or if she was actually hurting."

Andre nodded sagely, as if he fully understood (and he probably did). Robbie just looked disturbingly interested, like he was itching to take notes or something. But Robbie was Robbie, so Beck didn't do anything more than give him a slightly disturbed look, which was something the ventriloquist was used to.

"So...you just use your hands?"

"Pretty much." Beck shrugged. So long as it didn't get too personal, he guessed he could answer basic questions. No doubt Jade was being asked even more invasive questions, since she was with Tori, who may have been the most inquisitive (read; nosy) person he'd ever met. "I mean...Jade has really delicate wrists, so I can hold both of them with just one hand."

"But she's...never come to school with bruises or marks and...I mean, she bruises easily, right? Once I grabbed her shoulders, not even tightly, and she had really faint marks..." Robbie asked, still just as curious, remembered the time when Cat had been living in the school and him and Jade found out.

"Make up. Really good make up, chunky bracelets, long sleeves and choker necklaces." Beck admitted, ruffling his hair.

Andre blinked a little and tilted his head. "So whenever Jade turned up at school in the full Goth gear – heavy black eye make up, spikey necklaces and bracelets...that means that you guys..." He made an odd bobbing head movement, that Beck didn't quite understand the meaning behind, but got the gist of what he was saying.

"I...yeah, pretty much." He admitted. "It normally just means that it was a bit more...passionate? I guess, than usual. We try to be careful and limit the type of bruising – so I won't leave marks on her wrists if I've left some on her neck, but sometimes we get caught up in it."

"Is it...more for you or her though? Like, no offense to Jade but I feel this is more her thing than yours..." Robbie tilted his head, his glasses looking a little lopsided because of it.

"Both? I mean, there are somethings that are more for her than me, but there are things I like more than she does. She's not into being scratched or bitten. But I like it so..." He shrugged a little pulling his long sleeved shirt aside to show a fading but still impressive bite mark on his collarbone. "I don't mind the slapping, it's hot but it's definitely more for her than me, although I think I'm developing a Pavlovian response to it." He wouldn't be going into detail about another thing he liked but Jade wasn't really into, that was for sure. Sure, he was open and had no secrets, but some things were meant to be kept under wraps.

"Don't you ever get like...worried that you could really hurt her?" Robbie asked, and Beck had to admit, he was pleasantly surprised at the fact that Robbie wasn't going for more...intimate and inappropriate questions. It was more about the safety behind it or the technicalities, not the physical details. Like he was genuinely worried about Jade's safety.

"At first...yeah. Especially with the slapping but...I never use a closed fist, or even a back hand, which negates some of the risk. Open palm only. I've got pretty fine-tuned control too, so it's never been hard enough to leave anything more than a little bit of a red patch that fades within an hour or so." He always was careful – after all, if this whole thing showed him anything, it was that things could be misunderstood extremely easily. Jade having a bruise on her cheek was a lot harder to hide and more damning if found out, than bruises on her wrists or throat, or other areas mostly covered by her clothing.

"So it's like...the evolution of giving her a spanking." Andre grinned, not in a perverse way (because he knew Beck would punch him out if he was speaking like that about Jade right now), but more teasing with a hint of well intentioned mocking.

"No." He replied instantly, but not harshly. "Because that makes it sound like it's...a punishment or something. And punishments aren't something I ever want to associate with sex." He wrinkled his nose. Sure, they sometimes played with the 'punishment' aspect, and he had put her over his knee once or twice (or a lot more than that to be honest) but it was always playful; him 'punishing' her for something small and silly (often, she purposefully made an overly obvious mistake on something, but did it with a cheeky bad girl grin at him, which let him know exactly what she was up to). If they were angry or arguing about something, they stayed away from having that kind of sex until they had resolved their issues – with tempers flaring and emotions running high, it would be far too easy to get carried away and for him to actually hurt her; it had happened just once. They'd been angry and arguing, and the only way Beck could think of to shut her up was to slam her against the wall and fuck her. It was even rougher than normal, with his normally delightfully filthy words traded for acidic barbs and her moans traded for snarls with her lips curling away from her teeth, eyes glittering with rage, her scratches and bites actually drawing blood, his bruising handprints so dark they were almost black and holding her throat to the point she physically couldn't breath. Afterwards, they both felt miserable about it because it turned what they enjoyed doing with each other, even with the roughness, into something darker and cruel. Sure, they had angry sex, but never that type of angry sex. "Anyway. Enough talk about that. Please. I'm not sure if you noticed, but I don't generally like talking about my sex life." He shook his head a little.

Andre had to admit, that was very true. Unlike most teenage boys, Beck never really bragged about the fact he had sex, and a lot of it. Sure, sometimes hints of their more private relationship was given (Beck had a tendency to tug strands of Jade's hair when she was being particularly mean, or nip at the tip of her finger) but overall, Beck didn't go into detail any more than giving a very dazed and dream-like grin when confronted after stumbling out of the janitors closet or one of the dressing rooms at the Black Box a few moments after Jade left fixing her hair, or giving eyebrow wriggle at the very most when someone made a playful or joking comment about him and Jade; but he didn't brag or big himself up.

"Then pick up the damn controller and play, Himbo." Andre tossed the controller he had originally rejected at his head, and it was only due to his ultra quick reflexes (learned from dating Jade, who had a habit of throwing things at him when he pissed her off) that he wasn't brained by the chunky controller.

"I swear to God, I'm never letting you speak alone with Jade again." Beck sighed, shaking his head at the nickname Jade had given him back in Sophomore year, and had recently filled Andre in on. The musical prodigy had taken great joy in using 'Himbo' too.

"...Himbo?" Robbie asked curiously.

And Beck couldn't help but groan and cover his eyes as Andre, much like Jade had, gleefully filled in Robbie about the meaning of the word – and why it was perfect for Beck.

Himbo = A super hot but dumb guy aka a male bimbo.
