Roman had felt hurt like never before when he walked into the hotel room and found Bobbie's suitcase gone. She hadn't even told him that she would be leaving. He had thought about reaching out via text or maybe even call for the first time, but he ended up deciding against it. He would not be begging her to come back if she didn't want to be with him anymore. She had made her choice and he was going to respect that no matter how much it hurt.
Going back on the road the week after and seeing her again made it hurt all over. Not that it had stopped hurting those few days apart, but seeing her made it hurt even more. Of course he had torn his ring pants when he pulled them out of the bag too angrily. Just a stupid hole that could be fixed easily but it also meant seeing her. He waited until he was sure all the seamstresses had arrived, and then he went to their station and asked one of the others for help.
"Thank you," he said.
He took his pants back and felt Bobbie stare at him. He looked over at her, hoping she would say something. Anything at all. Nothing came out. She turned her eyes back to her sewing machine. He sighed and left the room. This was really it. She was done with him.
"Wow, who pissed in your breakfast?" Seth asked.
Roman looked up to see Seth standing in front of him.
"I fucking hate Robert Roode!" Roman growled.
"Right, I heard about you and Bobbie last week. I wasn't too sure if people were making up this crazy story or if everything really did blow up," Seth said.
"Oh, it happened," Roman sighed. "And now I want it to un-happen."
"I think we need some coffee," Seth said. "Go find a place to sit in the arena. I'll get us some coffee and meet you there."
Roman walked down the ramp, took a quick glance at the ring and then jumped the barricade to grab a chair on the fifth row. Just far enough away for anyone to hear them but close enough to see everything going on. Seth came walking down there a few minutes later with two cups of coffee. He made his way over the barricade and up to Roman and handed his friend one of the coffees.
"Thank you," Roman said.
Seth sat down and looked at Roman.
"Talk to me," Seth said. "What happened?"
"I don't even know. When I saw her the first time, everything inside me started yearning for her right away. I can't explain it."
"Love at first sight," Seth smirked. "It happens sometimes. So what went wrong?"
"We were sneaking around. At first she thought I was playing her and that I do this with everyone coming through here," Roman said.
"You don't," Seth said.
"I know that, Seth," Roman chuckled. "I figured we could keep it secret until enough time had passed and she moved out of Robert's home and got settled in her own."
Seth furrowed his brows in confussion.
"Ehm..." Seth said. "Bobbie lives in Florida from what Alexa told me."
"I know," Roman said.
"And Robert lives in Canada," Seth said.
"No, he..." Roman paused. "He does?"
"Yeah, he moved back after moving from NXT to the main roster. From what I could understand, Bobbie moved to Florida on her own."
"Why would she say that she lived with her brother then?" Roman asked.
"I don't know," Seth shrugged.
Roman ran everything through his head from the past month to try and figure out why he would believe that.
"Fuck! I fucked up," he said. "She never said that. I assumed she did and she never told me otherwise."
"So half a lie," Seth said. "Is that good or bad?"
"I don't know but I'm gonna find out," Roman stood up. "Thank you for the coffee and the talk. I needed that. Now I need to go talk to the woman I'm in love with. Wish me luck."
"Luck isn't needed when it's you," Seth grinned. "You got this, big brother."
Roman left Seth sitting on the fifth row. He jumped the barricade and took out his phone while walking up the ramp. He dialed Bobbie's number and hoped she would pick up despite working. She did pick up but she didn't say anything. She just breathed into the phone.
"Meet me outside or I'll come to you," he said. "We're gonna have this conversation. You decide where."
He hung up and walked outside. It took a minute, then the door opened and she stepped outside. She looked nervous as she walked over to him.
"I realized I got some things wrong," he started. "You don't live with Robert. You didn't correct me either when I thought you did."
"I didn't like the idea of booty calls. I thought that was what you would want if you ended up calling me. I thought it was a game at first," she said.
"I remember that," he said. "And now?"
"Do you really need to ask how I feel?" She asked.
"I think I do because I'm so fucking lost here," he said.
He ran a hand through his hair in frustration. They were outside where people could see them if they happened to walk by, and he needed to think about everything he did so a weird picture wouldn't suddenly hit social medias.
"Why did you leave me?" He asked.
"Robert told me to," she answered.
"But you didn't tell me anything," he said.
"I didn't think you would care," she said.
"Why not?" He asked.
"When Robert blew up last week and asked if you had anything to add, you said no. I figured that meant that it really was a game all along. Or just a nice side thing to make you calm down after work," she said.
His eyes turned sad. Even after all this time, that conversation - or lack thereof since he never said anything but no to Robert's question - was enough to kick her back to the first day where she thought he was playing with her. It broke his heart that was all it took.
"I didn't say anything because it wasn't the right place to have that conversation with so many people listening," he said.
Screw people with cameras that might have to walk by. He stepped closer to her and took both her hands. He held them up between their chests and squeezed her hands.
"I love you, bobcat," he said.
Her face dropped to one of surprise.
"If you don't love me, I'll let you go. This was never a game to me. I fell for you the second I saw you," he said.
"I love you too," she said.
"Wow, that feels good to hear," he smiled. "Okay, so far, so good."
"Robert said he would get me fired if I'm with you," she said.
"Robert can go kick rocks," he said. "He doesn't run shit around here. Give me the green light and I'll walk right in there and tell Hunter and Vince that we're together. Robert won't be able to do shit from there. And if he tries running his mouth, I can get him fired. My word goes around here. Say the word, bobcat, and I'll have his ass out of here tonight."
"I don't need you to go that far," she giggled. "You gotta understand that Robert thinks I only date bad men. He met a couple of my ex boyfriends that weren't exactly good people, and he got into his head that I only date idiots like that. I don't. I mean, I date you. Or so I hope."
He leaned down and kissed her.
"You do," he said. "No more lies. No more sneaking around. I'm inviting myself over for a date at your place this Sunday. How does that sound?"
"Do you like lasagna?" She asked.
"I fucking love it," he grinned. "And Monday you can come see my place. What should I make you?"
"Serve me pasta and I'm yours forever," she said.
"I will make sure to do that," he grinned.
He kissed her again and smiled against her lips.
"We better go inside before anyone sees us and a picture of us kissing makes it to social medias," he said.
"Yeah, still too soon," she said.
He chuckled and laced his fingers in between hers.
"I know I'm insecure sometimes and that was part of fucking this up. I'll work on that," she said.
"We'll work on it together," he said.
He gave her hand a light squeeze, and walked back inside with her.
"Don't worry about Robert," he said. "I'll deal with him as soon as I've spoken to Hunter and Vince."
"I guess I'll go back to work then," she said.
"You better get your ass to my room tonight," he said.
"You can carry my suitcase from Robert's room," she grinned. "I know you'll love to see his face when you show up there. You can even wait with having the conversation with him until then."
"There's that feral cat again, waiting to fight everyone, including her own brother," he laughed. "It's a deal, bobcat."
