The woman arrived in the Neatherrealm. She walked over to the guards at the castle. "I have an appointment with the emperor and empress," she said. The guards nodded at her, letting her in. She often visited them and was a known ally.
She entered the throne room. She saw Empress Kitana and Emperor Lui Kang. She bowed out to them as they climbed off their thrones. "Commander," Lui Kang said. "How is your mission going? Shall we expect Kano's head on a silver platter?"
"Not yet," the woman said.
"You can't kill one human man?" Kitana asked.
"I've killed hundreds of human men," the woman said. "I was simply distracted this time. I know where he's going to be for the foreseeable future. Now, he won't have a chance to escape or his fancy weapons."
"Onto more time-sensitive matters," the woman continued. "How is Jade going with her meeting with Kotal Kahn?"
"We haven't heard a word back yet," Kitana answered. "We suspect he'll side with us. The Neatherrealm and Outworld's alliance depends on it."
"Good," the woman said.
"You know you don't have to wear those bandages," Lui Kang said. "We've all seen what you look like without them."
"I know," the woman said. "The moment I take off these bandages, my cover will be blown. I can't have that just yet."
The next morning, Jacqui woke up in her boyfriend's arms. She slowly climbed out of the sleeping male's arms. She walked into the living room, which was an open door concept with the kitchen. She wanted to surprise Takeda with pancakes.
She opened the fridge door. She felt her baby kick slightly. This was the first time she felt her kid. Something about feeling it feel more real. It was a small little kick, but it was still uncomfortable. "You're already a little warrior," Jacqui chuckled. "But I'm never letting you join the Special Forces."
She then felt the baby kick again. "Don't argue with me, your father will agree," Jaqui joked. She almost wanted to wake Takeda for this special moment. She remembered how he was up for most of the previous night. First, he was watching the updates on Kano's arrest. She couldn't blame him for that. She was sitting in her bed, messaging Sonya for updates. Then, when they finally went to bed, Takeda kept waking up from strange dreams. Jacqui feared what this could mean since he was a telepath.
"Boo," someone said. Jacqui was then smacked into a wall. Luckily, her back is what made contact with the wall. Jacqui slowly sat up, holding onto her belly. "Do you remember me?"
She looked up and saw the ex empress of Outworld; Mileena.
