Chapter 6

Nathalie logged in another address onto the Ladyblog chat, creating another username while the post loaded. She refreshed the screen and a new video from Alya uploaded.

"Ladybug wants to thank all you Ladybloggers for helping her out, we got a ton of helpful information and Ladybug has gone off to investigate. You can go ahead and stop posting addresses. Thank you all so much!" Alya said, sincerely.

The video ended and Nathalie let out a sigh of relief. She closed the laptop and stood up heading towards Adrien's room. She knocked on the door.

"Enter." Hawkmoth's voice called out.

Nathalie walked through the door to see Hawkmoth sitting casually in a chair across from Chat Noir. Chat Noir was securely tied up in a chair, a gag wrapped around his mouth, preventing him from talking. He turned his head to glare at her, before returning his attention to Hawkmoth. His ring beeping quietly in the background, with only one green paw pad left of charge.

"She is on her way." Nathalie informed Hawkmoth.

"Excellent!" Hawkmoth said, a wicked grin crossing his face. "We're going to need your Miraculous Chat Noir, we can do this the hard way or the easy way."

Chat Noir glared at Hawkmoth and made a hissing noise from behind the gag. Hawkmoth gave a sigh. "The hard way it is." He said calmly. "Nathalie, bring me a knife."

"Yes, sir." Nathalie said, turning around and heading out the door.

Chat Noir furiously clawed at the chair handle, straining against the fancy material binding him.

"You're wasting your energy." Hawkmoth said, lazily. "I designed that material specifically to withstand the strength of a Miraculous wielder. I find it best to be prepared."

Chat Noir continued to glare at him as the final beep rang out and he destransformed. Plagg quickly bolted to Adrien's desk as Hawkmoth dove after him. Plagg flew through one of the drawers and inhaled some camembert, flying back out as Hawkmoth yanked the drawer open.

Adrien began making frantic noises, jerking his head toward the window. Plagg got the idea and flew through the window.

Adrien relaxed and let out a sigh of relief, Plagg would find and warn Ladybug that it was a trap.

"It appears your kwami has abandoned you." Hawkmoth said in surprise, "He must realize I'll be getting your Miraculous, even if he has flown off, he will still obey me as Nuroo does."

Adrien felt his eyes beginning to water, the material binding him beginning to severely impact his breathing without Chat Noir's strength holding it at bay. Hawkmoth walked over and pulled off the gag and watched in fascination as he saw tears begin to drop down Adrien's face.

"After my wish none of this will have happened." Hawkmoth said, reaching his hand out to wipe away the tear in a fatherly way.

Adrien let out a pitiful moan, feeling himself beginning to lose consciousness. Hawkmoth let out a small tsk before reaching down to grab Adrien's ring. Adrien furiously clenched his fist as his father began trying to pry the ring off his finger. With Hawkmoth's added Miraculous strength, Adrien felt like his finger was going to break.

Hawkmoth let out a sigh. "I could just break your hand I suppose." He muttered, examining his son's still clenched hand. "But you might still be able to fight me, and I don't have the time."

Just then Nathalie returned carrying a knife. Hawkmoth turned and grabbed it from her. "Thank you Nathalie, I'll be needing the cat Miraculous to defeat Ladybug." He said, turning to face his son, knife clenched in a hand. "This will be less painful if you just hand over the Miraculous."

Adrien stared in horror, gaping at his father as he struggled to breathe. "I'm your son!" He gasped out. "How could you do this to me!"

Hawkmoth looked down at the knife in contemplation. "It's for the greater good, you won't even remember this." Hawkmoth said, grabbing Adrien's clenched fist.

Adrien stared at Hawkmoth in horror, as he watched Hawkmoth lower the blade to rest the tip against his lower finger, just under the ring. Hawkmoth looked him dead in the eye. "Last chance." Hawkmoth stated, calmly.

Adrien turned to look at Nathalie, standing by the door. "Are you really just going to stand by and do nothing!" Adrien tried to scream at her through punctuated breathes. Nathalie dropped her eyes to the floor.

"It'll be okay Adrien, you won't remember a thing." Nathalie mumbled.

Adrien turned back to Hawkmoth, keeping his fist clenched as tightly as possible. "I'd rather die!" He growled.

Hawkmoth bowed his head, in defeat. "Very well, I'm sorry my son." He said.

He lifted the knife, stabbing it down through Adrien's finger. Adrien managed to gasp out, "I'm no son of yours!" Before passing out.

Adrien's blood dripped from Hawkmoth's gloved hand to the floor as Hawkmoth dropped Adrien's hand as he went to work, pulling the ring from the severed finger.
