(Same day)

A young lioness opened her eyes, awakening from her slumber and that young lioness is none other than Nala, she's inside Pride Rock's main den, she wondered how she got here since she can remember she was talking to Simba at the river, she looked around and realized she's on the royal platform, also noticing that she's alone, she stood up gaining her balance about to walk out to find the others, just then she stopped in her tracks, she was startled by a small mew from behind her, she looked around to see a tiny blind lion cub, barely a day old in the farthest part of the den near to it's walls.

"Who's is this cub?", she questioned confused since no one on Pride Rock had given birth, while approaching the newborn, she can see that the cub has a golden brown fur similar to Simba's she thought and it was whimpering while weakly crawling around as if looking for warmth from it's mother, the young lioness lowered her head towards the cub, "Hush there little one, don't cry, we'll find your mother", she lied down carrying the cub by it's scruff and in between her front paws to comfort it, she also saw that the cub's a male, "I see you're a baby boy, you're a sweet little boy aren't you?", she cooed and unintentionally, she nuzzled the cub, for a while he stopped his cries feeling Nala's embrace, she admits her feeling is very light towards the little one.

Just then a male voice called her name, "Nala?", a lion's voice asked.

Nala knew exactly who it is, she turned to see the king, Simba, "Simba", the young king approached, when the lion is near her she thought maybe Simba knows where and who the cub's parents are, "Simba, do you happen to know where and who this cub's parents are?", she pointed at the small cub infront of her, the young lion widened his eyes confused by Nala's question, "I found him near the den's wall", she quickly added.

Simba answered up, "Nala, I don't know if you're joking or not, there is in no way you don't know who he is", Nala raised her eyebrow also confused, "La, he is our son", he continued, "You gave birth to him last night, don't you remember?"

Nala didn't speak up, it's not possible, as far as she remembers she's only a week pregnant so how in the Pridelands has she already given birth?, "That's not possible Simba, I'm still pregnant".

Simba replied nuzzling her, "I really don't know if you're playing with me Nala, but I'll tell you this, you're now the queen, my wife and mother of our cub just in case you supposedly lost your memory", he stated not taking her seriously thinking his wife is just joking. She's a queen?, she and Simba are married and she gave birth?, she's a mother?, she can't believe all that's happening.

"And just look at him, he's a perfect combination of you and me, our little boy, isn't he?", Simba said nuzzling his son's tiny body, Nala looked at the tiny lion nestled in her paws, the cub's face looks a lot like Simba but she can also see a part of herself in his face, he's right, the cub does look a lot like them, but she thought it's still not possible, or maybe she really forgot everything that happened, maybe she lost her memory, she slowly let go of her thoughts and focused on the cub, who is now sleeping, she felt a burst of joy certain that this is their cub, the result of her love for Simba.

"You're right Simba, he's perfect", she stated proudly, and Simba smiled.

Simba added, "He hasn't opened his eyes yet but I hope he gets your beautiful sapphire eyes", which made Nala smile.

Nala also asked, "Does he have a name?, maybe I also forgot, I'm sorry, I don't know what's gotten into me".

"It's fine if you don't remember La and he does have a name", the king stated, "We named him Kopa".

"Kopa", Nala whispered her son's name, she couldn't gaze away from her little cub, she lowered her head once again, her eyes closed feeling Simba nuzzling her and her nuzzling their son, everything else didn't matter to her except for Simba and Kopa but everything soon turned into blackness.

TLKTLKTLKTLKTLKTLKTLKTLKTLKTLKT

Nala suddenly woke up once again, she's in the main den, alone and on the Royal platform like before, she quickly looked back expecting to see her newborn son but when she did, she saw no cub, she quickly felt her stomach which is forming a very small bump, confirming herself that she's still pregnant, she stared for a while trying to once again process what's happening and finally came to a conclusion that what she just experienced was just a dream, a made up fantasy by her head.

"It was all just a dream", she said a little disappointed, she tried to forget about it recalling that Simba doesn't like her, therefore thinking it won't ever happen. But one thing still remained in her mind from the dream, it is her son and his name, she looked down at her belly knowing what her baby will possibly look like and what his name will be, maybe this is a sign from the kings of the past that she should name him 'Kopa', so she promised herself to name him that, besides she liked the name and it's meaning.

"Nala, you're awake", her mother called who has a piece of a zebra's leg between her front paws at the entrance of the den.

Nala raised her head, "Mom", Sarafina then carried the meat and placed it infront of her daughter.

"Eat this", Sarafina said hugging Nala, "The hunting party just came back so I got a piece for you".

Nala nodded, "Thanks mom, I'll eat it later", "I just want to know what happened first"

"Simba said you passed out back at the river, he brought you to Rafiki and said you almost...lost the cub", Sarafina answered seeing her daughter closing her eyes heavily while lowering her head, "Nala don't cry dear, the cub's fine and strong and he wouldn't like it if his mother is sad", Nala looked at her mother and she's right, "Simba said he'd like to talk to you when he comes back, he's still eating outside , you two need to talk, without tension, the cub wouldn't want it if his parents are arguing".

"I'll take it easy mom", Nala reassures wiping her eyes with back of her paws, Sarafina once again nuzzled her daughter before heading outside to eat, once her mother is out of sight she also began to bite through the meat, she swallowed but started to struggle to swallow feeling a bit of discomfort in her throat but can still manage it.

"Are you okay?", a deep voice asked, Nala raised her head to see who it is, and it is Simba, the one she expected to see, she didn't spoke up still hurt by remembering what he said back when they were talking, she just continued what she's doing.

Simba simply watched her eat but saw that whenever she swallows, it takes her a big gulp to get food down as if she's forcing herself, "Nala, I can see you're struggling to swallow"

Nala replies, "I need to King Simba, the cub needs to eat even if my throat refuses to cooperate".

Simba felt awkward when Nala called him 'King Simba', she never did and it made him feel sad, but sighs it off, "Oh right, about your throat, Rafiki gave you a strong medicine, don't worry, it's safe for both of you, he just said your throat will dry up but only for a few hours and it will wore off", he added, "I'll get you water"

It's fine Simba, I'm going to the waterhole later anyways", Nala insisted, Simba didn't insist back and just nodded.

He started, "Nala, can we talk about the cub?", he wanted to discuss with her about their son since he will admit, they're quite younger than when most lions who conceived their first cub and that he wants to make things clear with her.

"We can if you want to", Nala replied cold, she doesn't care about him anymore and what his plans will be because no matter what she'll raise the cub.

Simba explained, "I want to take the cub as my heir, obviously and therefore meaning he will be titled 'Prince' and 'Future King'".

Nala's eyes widened, she wasn't expecting him to give their son his rights since it's stated in the law of the Pridelands that the heir's mother is required to be queen, and with Simba denouncing their betrothal it's not possible for her to be queen, "But the law prevails that the heir's mother is titled 'Queen', and the cub was conceived out of wedlock to a marriage that will never happen ", she said holding back her tears.

Simba stayed quiet for a while, when Nala looked back at him he continued, "Nala, the truth is I wanted to denounce our betrothal is because-"

"You don't love me, I get it Simba, you don't have to repeat it", she interrupted once again looking away.

Simba sighed, "No, that's not what I meant Nala", she's still looking at the opposite direction from him, and so he took his paw and placed it under the lioness's chin and gently brought her head to face him, "But please look at me and listen just this one time", and she did, those beautiful sapphire blue eyes that he fell for looked at him, once full of love and joy, now reflected sorrow, it hurt Simba to see her like that and he knows it's his fault, she suffered enough from Scar's reign and just because he stated his words incorrectly to her, it resulted to something he didn't intend to happen, but now he's ready to correct his mistakes.

What the two didn't know is that someone is listening to them from a distance.
