It's been about two months since the incident in the Forest of Forever Fall, and Jaune has done very well in his training with Pyrrha and Ryu. The best part about it was that Cardin or his teammates had not bothered the members of Team HORR or the members of Team JNPR.

Today, both teams were in vale, following Ryu to another part of town "So… where are we going, Ryu?" Jaune asks.

"I thought that since the Vytal Tournament is coming up, we might as well get more information on the other kingdoms and their type of fighting styles." Ryu explained.

"He just wants to get an upper hand in the competition." Riley said as Ryu turned to him.

"Riley Blackwood! As your teammate, I am shocked. Shocked and dismayed at these baseless accusations." Ryu said, making Riley raise an eyebrow.

"You sure they're baseless?" Riley asks, giving him a stare that made Ryu cave in.

"Fine. Yes, I want to get a better understanding of each kingdom's fighting styles so i can get an advantage." Ryu said truthfully.

"Well, can't say I blame you. I think Weiss might be doing the same." Olette said.

"Probably." Horus said as he bumps into a girl with long messy electric blue hair "Oh, sorry." But the girl didn't say anything.

"Hey, are you okay?" Olette asks as she puts her hand on the girl but the girl doesn't respond.

"Can you hear us?" Riley asks as the girl looks at his fiery red eyes.

"Ahhhhh!" The girl screamed as she clutched her head with Pyrrha rushing to her side.

"It's okay! You're okay!" Pyrrha said, trying to sooth the girl.

"Calm down! I'm not going to hurt you!" Riley said.

"He's right. He looks scary but he's not gonna eat you." Nora said but it only made the girl start to hyperventilate, making both her teammates and the members of Team HORR look at her in annoyance.

"You're not helping." Jaune said.

"What's going on here?" Glynda's voice broke the thoughts of the huntsmen and huntresses in training and turned to her and saw Ozpin standing right next to her.

"Mom!" Olette called out.

"What did you kids do?!" Glynda asks.

"We didn't do anything! She just started screaming when she looked at Riley." Horus explained as Riley looked down to the ground in sadness when Ozpin kneels down to the girl.

"I need you to calm down. Nothing bad will happen to you." Ozpin said in a soothing voice and the girl began to breathe slowly and she then fainted, fallinging into Ozpin's arms.

"Is she okay?!" Jaune asks as Ren checks her pulse.

"She's fine. Just exhausted." Ren said.

"We should get her to a hospital." Ryu said.

"I think that might be wise." Ozpin said as Ryu carried the girl and they all made a run for the hospital.

At the hospital lobby, the young huntresses and Huntsmen explained what happened to Glynda and Ozpin "I see. So that's what happened." Ozpin then took a sip of a cup of coffee.

"The poor girl… something must have terrified her." Glynda said as the Doctor entered the room.

"How is she, Doctor?" Ozpin asks.

"Well, despite a few cuts and suffering from exhaustion, she's fine. But the girl was traumatized." The doctor explained.

"Do you have to keep her here?" Olette asks.

"Most likely. It's just to make sure she's truly well." The doctor explained.

"Thank you, doctor. Please keep me updated on the girl." Ozpin said.

"Will do, Professor Ozpin." The doctor then leaves the group as the group turns to each other.

"I hope she'll get better soon." Olette said.

"She will. We have to give time to recover." Glynda said to her daughter.

"Something about her confuses me. Why did she scream when she saw Riley?" Ryu asks, with Ozpin and Glynda making glances at Riley.

"I think you should tell them, Riley." Ozpin said as Riley sighs, with his teammates and Team JNPR looking at him in confusion.

"Have you ever wondered why I can use the ability of different types of Grimm?" Riley asks.

"I just thought that was your semblance." Jaune said.

"It is. But… there's another reason." Riley said.

"Another reason?" Olette asks.

"The truth is… I'm part Grimm." This news makes everyone look at Riley in shock.

"Is- is this a joke?" Horus asks, making Riley shake his head.

"This isn't a joke. It's the truth." Riley said.

"No way…" Horus and the others didn't know what to think.

"Why did you keep this from us?" Ryu asks.

"Because I wanted you guys to see me as an actual person and not a monster." Riley explained.

"How did you become part Grimm?" Olette asks.

"It's a long story." Riley said but just sighs.

On the streets of Mantle, a young boy with blonde hair and blue eyes was walking through the streets when he saw a mustache man looking at him "Can I help you sir?" The boy asks as the man smirks.

"As a matter of fact, yes there is." The man said as he began to walk away with the boy following him.

In the research section of the Atlus military, the young boy was tossed into a human size capsule that was being slowly filled with black goop "What are you doing?!" The young man bangs on the sealed glass of the capsule as the man smirks.

"You're going to serve your kingdom…" the man said as the boy saw a man with black hair enter the room.

"What are you doing, Watts?!" The two men argued and it then escalated into a brawl. This was the last thing the boy saw before he had lost consciousness in the capsule.

When the boy woke up, he saw himself on a bed with white sheets surrounded by medical equipment when a man walked into the room and saw that the boy was now awake.

The man wears a white overcoat, with a gray undercoat, black sweater, a red necktie and a white glove on his right hand. His suit pants shared the same color as his overcoat and were tucked into silver boots accented in gray.

"I'm glad you're awake." The man said.

"What happened?! Where's that man?!" The boy asks.

"He's gone. When we try to apprehend him, he jumped off a cliff and is now dead." The man explained.

"So, I don't have to worry about him and I can go home?" The man kneels next to the boy.

"I'm sorry… but Atlus is your new home…" The man said.

"What do you mean?" The boy asks as the man gives him a mirror… and the boy was horrified by what he saw. His eyes changed from blue to red and his hair turned from blonde to full silver.

"I'm sorry, but… You're now part Grimm…" The man said as the boy began to shed a tear "We have to keep you here until we can know what kind of power you have. After that, you'll be free to be yourself again." The man explained.

"Why?! Why did this have to happen, General Ironwood?!" The boy cried.

"I… i don't know. Sometimes, people are just evil like that." Ironwood said as the boy began to sob "What's your name?" Ironwood asks as he pats the boy's head.

"...Riley Blackwood." Riley said as Ironwood gives him a smile.

"How old are you?" Ironwood asks.

"I'm ten." Riley said.

"Riley… I swear, you will feel like a human again."

"...And I spent the next eight years learning how to fight to enter Beacon." Riley said, finishing his story back at their dorm room. His teammates and his friends didn't know what to think. The guy from his story definitely got what he deserved but Riley never asked to be part Grimm.

"So… how did you unlock your semblance?" Ryu asks.

"It was during a training simulation against some Grimm. I hated Watts so much that I wanted to use the power of the Grimm to kill him if he had survived." Riley explained.

"Riley…" Olette then puts her hand on his shoulder "If you think we're gonna treat you differently because you're part Grimm, think again." Olette said.

"Yeah… You're our friend and our teammate." Horus said, making Riley smile in relief.

"Thanks guys…" Riley said.

"But now that we know, we should clear the air with that girl tomorrow." Ryu said as everyone nods in agreement.

"I don't know… what if she becomes more scared of me?" Riley asks.

"...Then we'll just tell her you're on our side." Horus said as everyone started to leave.

"Welp! See you guys tomorrow!" Nora said as she and her teammates left the room.

"We should get some sleep. Let's go and see that girl after school tomorrow." Olette said as she and the others changed into their pajamas.

"Well, goodnight." Ryu said as he turned the lights off for the night.

That night, Olette couldn't sleep. How could she? She learned that two of her teammates weren't given happy beginnings. Not only that, but she was worried sick for that girl that had encountered this morning.

She then goes into her drawer and pulls out a gold necklace with a locket. When she opens a locket, she sees a middle aged man holding a little girl in his hands "Can't get any sleep?" Ryu asks, making Olette jump a little.

"Dear gods… don't scare me like that!" Olette yelled quietly as to not wake up her teammates but it still made Ryu smirk and chuckle.

"And now we're even." Ryu said. Oh, right. Olette did scare Ryu when he came back after his walk a couple of weeks ago. She wonders if this is karma coming back to bite her.

"I guess we are." Olette giggles when Ryu looks at her with a bit more serious face.

"Anyways, what's wrong?" Ryu asks.

"I was just… thinking of the past." Olette said hesitantly.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Ryu asks.

"No. I'll be fine. Let's go and get some sleep." Olette said as she placed the locket next to her bed.

"Alright. Well, goodnight." Ryu said as he went back to bed.

The next day, Ryu and Olette saw Riley working hard on his assignments Professor Oobleck had given the class "Now! All of you know that Grimm are the most vicious creatures on the planet! Why, they attack towns and villages! However! Not all Grimm are mindless. They are thinking beings like you and i!" Oobleck took a sip of his coffee.

"Now! Who here has heard the tale of the Brothers Grimm?" Oobleck asks.

"I have sir!" Ryu said.

"Me too." Riley said.

"Good! Good! That tale is as old as time! It is said that the God of Light's brother, the God of Darkness, created the Grimm to destroy everything in their path." Oobleck then takes one more sip of his coffee before speaking to the class again.

"Now, to most of you, this legend seems a bit out of place for a history class but trust me… there is always truth in legends." The school bell then rings throughout the classroom "I suppose that's all we have today. Please read the text in your history books!" Everyone got up from their desks when Ryu saw that Olette's expression became that of sadness.

In the hallway, Ryu and his teammates were making their way to the dorms when they saw Glynda and Ozpin "Hey, mom." Olette greeted with a small smile.

"Olette. Heading back to the dorms?" Glynda asks as her daughter nods.

"Yeah. We wanted to go and see how that girl was doing." Olette explained.

"Oh, honey…" Glynda put her hands on her arms "I understand why you want to do that, but me and Ozpin have to go there to ask her some questions. You're going to have to visit her another day." Olette sadly frowns.

"I… I understand…"

"Good. Now we're off." Glynda kisses her daughter on the cheek before walking passed her and the others.

"It's okay, Olette. We will make sure the girl is fine." Ozpin said as he left the teens alone.

"Maybe we should leave it to your mother and Professor Ozpin. They are professional huntsmen." Ryu said, putting his hand on Olette's shoulder.

"Y-yeah…"

"I don't get why you're so concerned for a girl like her." Riley said.

"I'm actually curious myself. Why are you so worried about the girl?" Ryu asks.

"I just am…" Olette said with her voice filled with a bit of bitterness and sadness.

Horus starts to laugh nervously but then silences himself and looks at the city below them "Hey! How about we go back to the dorm and do what we need to do and stuff…" Horus suggested and the teens headed back to the dorms.

Once back at the dorms, the tension in the air had thickened between the four young huntsmen and huntress, making Horus and Ryu look at each other "Um… so… how was the test in Professor Port's class, Horus?" Ryu asks.

"Oh! It was good. I think I got all the answers right, thanks to your tutoring." Horus replied with a bit of laughter, yet the atmosphere was still heavy.

Ryu then sighs and looks at Olette "Olette, there's something you're not telling us. What's the matter?" Ryu asks, making Olette slam the book in her hands.

"It's nothing." Olette said, but Ryu wasn't convinced.

"Olette, I gave you my trust when it came to my secret and i think it's time you gave us yours." Ryu said but Olette simply got up and the other two members of their team saw her trembling.

"Olette? Are you okay?" Horus asks.

"No… I am not okay!" Olette shouted, starting to shed some tears "How can you guys not worry about a girl who looked like she had just seen hell itself?!"

"Calm down, Olette. Your mother and Professor Ozpin said that they're going to make sure that she's well taken care of." Ryu explained.

"That's not enough! She's scared out of her mind and I can't even go!" Olette then ran out of the room, pushing Yang and Ruby out of her way.

"Um… what just happened?" Yang asks.

"Yeah… why did Olette look so sad?" Ruby asks as Ryu stood up and ran after Olette.

Ryu went up to the dorm's rooftop to find Olette in the fetal position, sobbing to herself. Ryu then walked towards her and sat next to her "You know, a beautiful girl like you shouldn't be crying…" Ryu said. Olette looks at him with an apologetic face with her cheeks being stained by her tears.

"I just… I really wish i'd knew my father." Olette said with a crack in her voice.

"Did he die when you were younger?" Ryu asks.

"That's the thing. When I was younger, I hit my head on something and got amnesia. I was taken in and raised by Glynda…" Ryu looked at her in curiosity "Maybe me overreacting back there was probably a repressed memory bubbling up to the surface."

"Perhaps… but still… you must have faith that the girl will be okay." Ryu said as he put his hand on Olette's shoulder.

"You know… it's funny…"

"What is?" Ryu asks.

"We've been teammates and friends for the last four months since the school year started… you gave me your trust and i don't know how to give you mine…" Olette said.

"Well, trust is a two way street. But you have to trust me when I say that the girl will be fine. We can go and see her tomorrow and I guarantee you she'll be fine." Ryu said as he got up to leave the roof but was stopped by Olette, in the form of a hug.

"Can we stay together for a bit longer?" Olette requested as Ryu smiles and the two looked at the setting sun falling behind the Academy.

Once the two returned to their dorm room, Olette saw Riley and Horus playing a video game together, with Yang and Ruby cheering for the boys, but Horus lost to Riley "Aw man…! How are you this good?!" Horus asks in disbelief.

"I had a console when I wasn't training. I'm no stranger to technology." Riley explained when he and the others saw Olette and Ryu at the door.

"Ryu! Olette! You're back!" Horus said as Olette walked over to Yang and Ruby.

"I'm sorry for pushing you guys. I just… I was going through some rough emotions." Olette explained.

"It's no problem. Right, Yang?" Ruby asks.

"Yeah… I don't know what happened but i'm glad you're doing better now." Yang said.

Olette sat down and told her teammate and her friends about her forgotten past and why she left the room the way she did "So… you don't remember anything about your dad?" Horus asks.

"The only thing i have from him is this locket." Olette said as she shows everyone her necklace.

"It's beautiful." Ruby said.

"It's my most precious treasure…"

"We understand. You want to make sure that the girl doesn't have to go through what you went through." Olette nods at Riley's accusation.

"I feel like we're kindred spirits." Olette said when Ryu saw the moon in the sky.

"I think we should get some sleep." Ryu said.

"Yeah. Our dad is coming over tomorrow for a visit." Yang said as she got up from the bed and walked out the door.

"I guess we'll see you guys tomorrow." Ruby said as she left the room as well.

"Well, let's get some rest." Horus said as he lay on his bed.

"Yeah. Goodnight." Rileys said.

"Good night." Ryu said as he turns the light off and went to bed himself, with Olette looking at him.

"You're such a sweet guy, Ryu." Olette said as she closes her eyes and sleeps for the day that's to come.
