She continued to cross the street, never looking back. She must have heard him claiming her. She must be angry that he hasn't even consulted with her. But he can't say he's sorry. He just can't. His demon is fighting him with that truth and it wouldn't budge.

Well, he has no intention to apologize for it either.

So, why is he following her?

Kagome felt her heart thundered in her ears, the moment she heard him claim her as his. She's been denying her feelings the past few days since his 'offer to date'. Truth be told, she just doesn't want to deal it. That scary shit called love and affection. She knows he's always been impulsive, so she thought his interest would fade soon enough.

But to see his demon call for her as well, that means, well, shit.

"Kagome, Wait up!" He called out but she sped up even more. She knows she can't possibly out-run him. He's caught up with her but thankfully he stayed a step behind her.

"Kagome, I've never been in a relationship." His ears droop.

"How is that related to me?" She rolled her eyes and kept walking.

He took a deep breath. "I don't have any experience in relationships and I… I'd probably screw shit up. But I've never liked or cared about anyone as much as I do, you."

She stopped walking but kept her back to him "You probably just feel that way, because I'm familiar to you. Things won't ever go back to the way they were. I'm not the same kid you liked, and I'm sure you've changed too." The street silence was complimented by the street-light and its shadow.

"I still want to give us a chance"

She slowly turned to look him dead in the eyes, "Well, I don't. I don't have time for relationships. You're just wasting your time."

"Then, I'll wait. However long it takes for you to want me too. I'll wait." His voice quivered in frustration. It is definitely hard to wait, to restrain himself, but if it means being with her, he'd do it.

She laughed, cruelly. "You don't have the patience."

"Is that a challenge?" He growled as he felt anger rise to his chest.

They stared into each other's eye, searching. Him for hope and her for sincerity. The only thing he's hanging on to, was that he has yet to hear her confirm that she does not like him at all.

She sighed. "I don't think I can give you the experience you're looking for."

He reached for her hand but as soon as they touched, she flinched. He saw her body get tense, her breathing and heartbeat both speed up. He can tell she feels uneasy. He took a step back, retracted the offending hand and formed a fist.

He knows. She looked away.

"Kagome, look at me, I don't give a damn about experiencing anything… I'm willing to try whatever-the-hell relationship is because it's with you. Because its you. If you're afraid of being intimate, I'm never going to touch you, unless you want me to. I'm never going to do anything you don't want me to." He spoke softly.

"Kagome… please, just don't push me away."

She bit her lips, contemplating. Is she ready? Probably not. Does she want him? Hm. Would it hurt again? Maybe. Is it worth it?

She took a deep breath as if she's planning to throw herself to a cliff. Hundreds of thoughts vying to be processed by her already anxious mind.

His heart dropped as he anticipates her rejection. The hesitation is clearly reflected in her eyes. He accepted it may not work out before he even begun. But, now and then, he'd convince himself to hope. Should he let go? He would never want to force her into a decision she does not want to make.

"Kagome, it's okay." He looked down. He smiled, bitterly.

Just when he's about to step away, she reached for his hand and shut her eyes tight.

"You'll get hurt."

Her voice sounded so small he almost did not catch it. He turned and his eyes drifted to her soft lips.

He sniffed the air, confirming she's fine with every step he took towards her.

He stopped a couple of centimeters away from her face and whispered affectionately, before gently laying his lips to her forehead.

"I don't care."
