"Selena come here!" Came a call from the kitchen.
Sena stretched her back and got up from her chair, making sure to save her game twice (just in case.) She walked through her poster-covered door to the living room.
"What's up Gramps?" She asked just before noticing a stranger, the stranger had piercing green eyes and a goatee.
The stranger nodded as a greeting and spoke: "And you must be Selena."
Sena nodded hesitantly: "uh, yeah, but most people just call me Sena."
"I see." The stranger got up and extended a hand out to Sena: "I'm Lloyd Garmadon."
"You look different in the movies." Was the only thing Sena could say as she shook the legend's hand.
"Heh, that I do." master Lloyd smiled, he let go of Sena's hand and motioned for her to sit down.
She gave a quick glance to Gramps and sat down next to him.
"So, uhm, what brings you here?" Gramps started hesitantly.
"Well. I have reason to believe that Selena here has some special abilities." It was weird to Sena whenever someone called her by her full name.
"With all due respect sir, I am a hybrid, I don't have any serpentine abilities." Sena looked down with embarrassment.
"Well, I did say special did I not?" As Master Lloyd smiled Sena looked him in the eyes with a puzzled expression.
Gramps motioned with his hand to the green ninja to elaborate.
"I believe that you possess the elemental power of earth." Master Lloyd said, as if it was an everyday thing.
"I thought elemental powers died off centuries ago." Gramps' brow furrowed.
"They did. But it seems that as my brother and I passed on our elemental powers to our children it has awakened the other elemental powers." Master Lloyd sipped tea from the cup Gramps had handed him.
"And you're saying that the power of earth somehow ended up to Selena?" Gramps clarified.
Master Lloyd nodded in response.
"Uhh, question?" Sena muttered.
"Yes?" Master Lloyd smiled warmly.
"I thought elemental powers were passed on through blood, and the previous master of earth was a human wasn't he?" Selena intertwined her fingers.
"You would be correct, but, elemental powers can also be gifted to someone out of one's own bloodline, how did you think the power of ice ended up with a nindroid to begin with?" Master Lloyd smirked.
Sena silently scolded herself for asking such a stupid question.
"Where was I now? Oh yes. My brother and I thought it would be for the best to track down these new elemental masters and make sure they were trained properly, to prevent any accidents and/or misuse of these powers." Master Lloyd finished his cup of tea and set it down.
A tense silence set over the trio as Sena and Gramps took in everything that Master Lloyd had just explained.
"So… you're offering me a chance to be a ninja?" Sena asked oh so hopefully, breaking the silence.
"Basically." Something inside Sena's brain just exploded from the sheer amazing mess of that one word, she turned to Gramps and stared, waiting for his opinion.
Gramps sighed and rested his hands on the table: "So you are asking me to put the last thing I have from my son, in danger, for a chance?"
"A near certain possibility." Master Lloyd specified.
"I'm not sure if I can allow that." Gramps' expression darkened.
Sena placed a hand on his shoulder: "Think about what dad would've wanted." she tried.
"Your dad would've wanted you to stay safe." Gramps said grimly.
"I can assure you Mr. Rossova, we will do our best to keep Selena out of danger's way." Master Lloyd promised.
"But will that be enough?" Gramps' brow furrowed.
"Well I'm not completely helpless." Selena chirped in.
A tense silence fell over the trio again as Gramps considered the offer, he closed his eyes and sighed as Sena swallowed a small lump in her throat.
"Fine." He muttered and looked up to master Lloyd: "but if she gets seriously injured I will involve authorities."
"Naturally. If it is alright I will be picking you up tomorrow at three pm sharp." Lloyd nodded towards Sena.
Sena, with a stupid grin, nodded:
"Works for me!" Her attempts at trying to look calm and serious were crudely betrayed by the fact that she was just vibrating from holding in a scream of excitement.
Lloyd nodded with a smile and got up.
"Thank you for the tea, I will see you tomorrow."
As soon as he walked out of the door Sena dashed into her room and started jumping and running around, just trying to burn off all the hype that had built up.
"This is the definition of awesomeness." She hissed to herself.
