John stood outside of the Hammer Industries facility that he had worked at only a few weeks earlier before Hammer himself fired him. In the weeks since he had come up with an almost fool proof plan, at least that's what he told himself. In truth it relied heavily on someone he had met once and talked online to a few times.

He watched as people began to leave the building as it reached 6 in the afternoon, when most of the staff were let off and allowed to leave for the day. He planned to take advantage of the chaos of everyone leaving, adding another layer of safety to his movements.

Using the key card, he had stolen from one of his old co-workers, he scanned himself into the secondary entrance to the building, the one that the janitors and other similar staff used as it led directly into the storage rooms.

His heart thumped for a second as he waited for the response of the scanner, sighing in relief as it accepted the card and was able to walk his way in. Next, he grabbed a spray bottle and a cloth as well as a hat to hide his face from the security and other staff who might remember him, as unlikely as that was.

He stalked through the building, ignoring the messages that were telling him that his stealth skill had increased. He headed straight to the stairs, moving past the elevators seeing as they all had cameras. He walked up the stairs quickly, moving as fast as he could while also not being suspicious. He passed only a couple of people on the way up, none of them questioning him.

He reached the penultimate floor quickly, where Hammer's office had been. The man had taken a flight to New York a few days ago, ensuring the office was empty. In fact, by that time, he knew that the whole floor would be practically deserted.

"Good afternoon." He nodded to someone with a smile on their face as they walked down the stairs in the opposite direction. They nodded to him and kept walking, a look of relief on their face at being released from work for the day.

As he walked onto the floor he looked around, avoiding pointing his face to the cameras, using his hat to block his face from them. He headed through the building and quickly found himself at Hammer's office.

One major flaw in Hammer's security is that Janitors can go almost anywhere in the building, even the CEO's personal office. Hammer was really pedantic about his office being spotless.

Walking inside, John breathed a sigh of relief about being away from the eyes of any of the cameras on the floor.

He walked through the big office and plugged the USB drive that he'd gotten from the Tinkerer into the computer. The moment the USB connected he watched as it began to upload a virus onto Hammer's systems. Within a minute it was completed, a virus had infected the system.

Next, John watched as various files were automatically uploaded onto the drive. He waited for other minutes and found himself slightly fascinated at what he was seeing. He decided that one of the things he wanted to learn was how to do this. However, that would be once he was a bit more secure financially.

Finally, after a few minutes the USB drive began to flash green, signalling that the drive had completed its instructions. As a final action, the device deleted all security camera footage from the past day while also turning them off for the next hour, giving John plenty of time to escape.

As soon as he took the drive out John's danger intuition went off. Reacting on instinct, he ducked.

John waited and listened as someone's footsteps approached the office.

John looked extremely surprised and immediately activated the skill. It was just in time as the glass door to the room swung open and a security guard walked in, noticing that Hammer's computer was on.

Not hesitating, John slipped through the door and ran through the corridors, putting as much space between him and the guard as possible.

He reached the stairs within a minute, turning his camouflage off as he did so, not wanting to use more AP than he had to.

"Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit." John spoke, struggling to breath properly due to the panic. He had almost been caught.

Taking a few deep breaths, John calmed himself down. He looked down the USB drive in his hand and smiled. He had succeeded, now all he had to do was leave the building, the easiest part.

"Freeze!" He heard someone speak and John did exactly that. Behind him, he could see in the corner of his eye, was a security guard, his taser pointed straight at him.

"Dude, what the hell is this." John spoke, pretending to be a janitor. "I'm just trying to get to the top floor to clean a spillage."

"Bullshit. I found unused cleaning equipment in the CEO's office. His computer was on." The guard spoke.

"Hey, look. That wasn't me. I can prove it." John spoke, hoping to convince the man. "Come onto the top floor with me and I can show you the spillage they reported."

John could see the lock of doubt in the guard's eye, watching as he decided that he'd wait for proof. John smiled in relief.

"Alright, go." The guard spoke as he holstered his taser.

"Thank you." John made a movement towards the stairs, towards where the guard was. As he stepped closer to him John moved as quickly as possible, reaching out and channelling a large amount of power into the 'paralysis touch' ability. Instantly, the guard fell to the ground, unable to move. "Sorry mate, I've got to go."

He ran down the stairs, wanting nothing but to leave the building as soon as possible. Fortunately for him, he experienced no more difficulties before the end of his mission, and he left the building with ease from there.

As soon as he left the building, he messaged the Tinkerer on his burner phone.
