A/N: An outsider's (and by that, I mean outside the mind!) point of view on the fight with the infamous All For One. Hope it's all up to everyones' tastes!
Simultaneous to Chapter 104…
It was only now, as Spinner stood at the onset of what could very possibly lead to his very untimely and gruesome death, that the self-proclaimed defender of justice and order felt some semblance of fear.
It was only now, as he stood in dreaded patience for a signal that may never even come, that Spinner began to think back to when things started to go awry with his life.
Was it when his family berated him for having a quirk that allowed him to do nothing but stick to surfaces? Very likely — but not definitive. Joining up with Stain wasn't the bookmark that brought him here either; Spinner knew that that certain move had been the right one.
No. It was that moment a few weeks ago, as he watched one of the few people his now late master had deemed a worthy hero, and made the decision right then and there to pledge his allegiance, however temporary.
Pledging his loyalty to someone his mentor had so highly praised seemed to be the right thing to do. And Spinner still believed in that; didn't for one moment think that his decision was the wrong one.
The only thing that he was berating himself for was his current uncertainty and — he'll admit it — tinges of cowardice that plagued his mind as he steadied himself to move at any moment. All to end the tyranny and corruptive influence of perhaps one of the strongest people to have ever stood on the planet, even surpassing All Might himself.
Letting out a quiet sigh, Spinner looked to his right at the imposing figure of Ricochet, bruiser and all-around stalling tank of the serial group that the media had dubbed 'The Nine.' Much unlike what the villain was usually known for, Ricochet's body seeped quiet and relaxed, crochet down behind a wall without a hint of irritation anywhere in its features.
It only cemented how terrifying Midoriya's control over the human mind was. And just how fitting that such a good soul had received such a busted power.
"So," Spinner whispered to the Ricochet's subsumed body, "Miss…"
"Taylor," Ricochet's body answered, completely unmoving aside from his mouth. Even his eyes remained unblinking, not even reacting as the occasional fly occasionally honed in and landed on his lashes.
"Right…" Spinner muttered. "So, you wouldn't mind if we just talked a bit, would you? At least until you get the signal? I mean, I'm a bit nervous and all and—"
"That makes sense," Ricochet's gruff, gravelly voice interrupted. "You are the only person out here aside from Izuku who has actual control of their body."
Spinner coughed into his hand several times. "Anyways! I've been wondering something since nobody's really made it clear to me whenever I ask. So, you're a separate entity from Midoriya, and you're the one controlling everyone else out here, right?"
…
Spinner gulped. "Miss?"
Ricochet chuckled, a deep and disturbing noise from such a hulked out figure. "Who knows? I have no idea what you're talking about, Spinner."
Spinner took a breath. "You're just messing with me… Right? I didn't just learn something that I wasn't supposed to, right?"
Ricochet huffed. Standing up straight and out from behind the rubble they had hidden behind. "That's the signal. Time to go. Remember; I'll be going on autopilot for a good portion of the fight. Don't rely on me to save your ass."
"Wha—"
Ricochet ran off, long before Spinner could even think to finish his thoughts.
"Arrgh! Fine!" Spinner shook his head, taking his sword out from its hilt as he jumped over his cover and ran towards his target.
Oddly enough, despite its relative closeness to him Spinner found the large building before him to loom in the late night atmosphere. It shouldn't have had such an effect, considering the streetlights and the bright colors that surrounded the temple, but the feeling was something he couldn't shake off.
He nearly fell backwards when a figure shot out through the temple's wall, divoting the ground and landing not but meters away. It was only as the projectile settled that Spinner identified it to be Waypoint, whose body had somehow seemingly morphed inside of a desk, a bench, and a large piece of rubble. Almost like he was… telefragged.
Spinner gulped, averting his eyes as he shook his head. He couldn't let the sight get to him. He had a job to do, after all.
And so he steeled his nerves, running into the building with all he had.
Quite unfortunately for him, Spinner just made it in time to see the speedster of the group — what should have been an almost near imperceivable blur to normal eyes — get caught within All For One's large hand.
Specifically, the man had been caught by his neck. It wasn't long before the speedster's windpipe was crushed into a million little pieces, his body discarded at his killer's feet.
"Oho?" All For One called out, staring Spinner down. "A willing soul, and not just another puppet I must say, with what Midoriya's saying here in my head, you're the one to thank for the confidence displayed during this intrusion into my domain?"
let me get this straight, just in case I'm missing something. You're some sort of separate consciousness apart from Midoriya? And you're controlling everyone out here while the boss deals with the old fart inside?"
Before Spinner could gain enough sense to scamper away from the sight of the monster before him, the others acted. Ricochet came in from behind, dual fists ready to pummel into All For One's back. Bombastic and his myriad of limbs jumped at All For One from his front. All while Pathogen began to form a cloud over All For One, whose skin slowly began to turn a light green.
"You're all annoying," All For One announced. "Can't you see that I'm trying to have a civil conversation here?"
Ricochet collapsed to the ground halfway to his target. But he didn't just trip; he violently went straight into the ground. Waves of energy were visible around him, pushing him further and further into the ground.
Bombastic was impaled by various pieces of wood that had been lying around, pushed back against the furthest wall. When Spinner looked back, he found the villain to be slowly piecing himself together, the wood popping out of his chest piece by piece.
As for Pathogen—
Spinner moved, his feet pushing against the cold floor as he sprinted forward. He almost didn't make it, his arms wrapping around Pathogen —she was still a little girl, murderous serial killer or not — as he tackled her away from a near-invisible sphere of rippling energy.
Spinner shouted in pain as he felt his left pinky and a small piece of his left thigh simply cease to exist. He grunted further as he used his body in an attempt to cushion the fall.
Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to stop the little girl's head from hitting the ground. But it was enough to keep the girl alive, if the steady breaths coming from her nose were any sign.
"Phew," Spinner sighed. "Just unconscious."
"Do you really have time to rest, Shuichi Iguchi?" All For One's voice echoed in the room.
Spinner felt a chill run down his spin as he turned. Again, the timing was unfortunate with the way he saw Phantom forcefully lose her tangibility while she was on the floor. The result was a fountain of organs and blood as the upper torso of the women spasmed in pain.
All For One chuckled. "You see—" He suddenly stopped midword, his face flinching ever in the slightest. Spinner took the opportunity to toss — gently — the girl in his arms out the window and some semblance of distance away from the fight. It was the best he could do at the moment.
Spinner suddenly felt a strange shroud surround his form, encapsulation almost like a blanket. When he turned back to look at his target, he found his hand facing upwards, at the ceiling.
"Shit!" Spinner muttered. But he shook his head to clear his thoughts near instantly; he couldn't afford any mistakes.
A yellowish beam shot out from All For One's hand, shooting up towards the ceiling. A grunt was heard and Kentaro came forth, spiraling down from his hiding spot up in the rafters and falling right into All For One's waiting hand.
Spinner took a breath, dashing forward with sword drawn.
A barrage of blades came shooting out from one corner of the room, no doubt the handiwork of the yet unseen Kizu.
And Centaur launched out his spines, the projectiles shooting forth as he himself made the charge.
"You have a rather interesting capability centered around mind control," All For One muttered as the figures around him drew near. "It's strong enough to even make me worried ever so slightly."
A grey bubble appeared around Kentaro. Even as All For One removed his arm, Kentaro remained dangling in the air, arms shooting up to his throat in an attempt to find the capability to breath. And then his actions repeated. Again. Again. And Again.
"I'll deal with you later."
All For One raised up a wall of stone, the incoming blades impaling themselves into the material.
All For One turned, his hand turning into a bluish goop as they absorbed Centaur's spines. The bumbling brute staggered back as his projectiles were launched back at him, covered in a steaming and corrosive bluish material that ached at his skin.
As for the other— "Urrk!"
Blood gushed out from his throat, an invisible force bouncing off from his chest as his invisible attacker retreated back into a relatively safe range.
Safely out of All For One's immediate range, the illusion around Spinner broke. As he took in the view, he let out a small celebratory cheer.
Well, that is, until a ring of flames burst around All For One's throat, halting the blood loss in a moment.
Spinner gulped. All For One looked absolutely furious.
"You damn lizard! Do you think that—!"
Ricochet erupted from the crater in the ground that his body had taken up for the past few minutes, zooming forward and crashing into All For One.
"You dare!"
Ricochet fell to the ground as All For One's — highly and quickly augmented — fist smashed into his face. Unfortunately for the villain, before he could pick himself off from the ground a storm of blades sunk deep into his back.
Spinner looked over at their origin, finding Kizu to be jumping out of the nearest window and making a break for it. Smart, since her wound-festering ability wasn't reliant on range.
"You'll come back here, you pest!" All For One exclaimed as he finally stood up. "Do you think that this mere handicap will do me in? You think that a mental attack as well as a physical one is enough to defeat me?! Come back here!"
Spinner heard enough. He took out several daggers from his belt and threw them in All For One's direction. The man predictably deflected them but they nonetheless did their job.
All For One seemed oblivious to Centaur coming from behind, Bombastic erupting from the ground, and Ricochet from the side until the moment of impact.
Spinner smirked. The three way attack looked impressive, but that didn't erase the fact that All For One could take blows like that with no problem. But that didn't matter. Because All For One was getting sloppy. Whatever Midoriya was doing in there, it was working.
Spinner flinched as Centaur fell to the ground, his chest caved in as All For One pulled his fist out from the corpse.
Spinner rushed forward just as Ricochet landed a punch to All For One's torso. Once more the near invincible villain was slammed into the ground, the same force as before pushing him down. Only this time, it was focused on his head, slamming it up and down over and over again.
Bombastic's tendrils shot into All For One's arm, halting the latter's movement. He didn't seem bothered by it, taking the time to slowly turn towards Bombastic with a glare.
But before he could act, it was then that All For One gasped, blood spewing forth from his mouth. The wounds on his back caused by Kizu spurted blood in turn, skin turning into a nasty gangrene as the wounds festered.
It didn't take long for All For One to steady himself, but by that time Spinner had closed the distance. Spinner's sword swiped at All For One's forearm — the same one that had been targeted by Bombastic. The blade only went halfway through, All For One not even reacting to the enormous gash in his arm. That didn't stop his arm from dangling, however.
Spinner felt a mass of tentacles wrap around him, pulling him away from All For One with an insane bout of weed. Looking up, he found Bombastic's monsterized face staring back down at him.
"Needed you a bit farther back for what's going to happen next," Bombastic said, hios voice rolling off in an odd cheer.
All For One grunted, pushing his arm back together with a huff, the skin stitching itself back together ever so slowly. "You think that you've done any damage? This is nothing compared to my fights with past holders of One For All!"
All For One stepped forward. Only to find himself tripping on an invisible thread of spider silk.
You—! GAH!"
Spiders began the process of wrapping their silk around All For One'e legs and arms. All the while millions and millions of bugs swarmed in from the windows, crevices in the walls, and every door in the building.
"Get these damned bugs off of me!" yelled the self proclaimed Demon Lord of the new world. His voice cracked as the bugs chewed and bit, his screams echoing throughout the empty walls of the temple.
Eventually, the bugs ended their assault.
Bombastic collapsed to the floor, much to Spinner's surprise. "Damnit! Don't do that!" He kicked Bombastic's unconscious body. "I nearly had a heart attack!"
Spinner startled again when he heard another noise. He turned, only for him to let out a sigh in relief as he found its source.
In one of the temple's far corners, where they had long been forgotten, the forms of both Shigaraki and Midoriya began to move.
Shigaraki, the much more durable of the two, undraped his body from the protective curl it made around Midoriya — not that Midoirya was aware of the setup, Spinner reminded himself with a chuckle.
The boy's flightpack activated, floating him into the air and towards the center of the room, much too close to All For One's corpse than Spinner himself was comfortable with.
Nevertheless, the kid had made through with his promise; had actually triumphed over the impossible. And so, Spinner slowly made his way forward, ready to congratulate the boy his master had recognized as a hero so long ago.
...
If only things were ever so easy.
A/N: And there we have it! That's a wrap! All that's left is… well, that's for all of you to find out.
