"Run for it, Marty!"

The Libyans, driving a Volkswagen bus, entered the parking lot and aimed their guns, prepared to fire. And then "BANG!"

The sound resonated, sending Marty scrambling into the DeLorean, but the next thing he knew, he was in his room, his heart racing almost as fast as a flux

capacitor.

He blinked and looked around, realizing that he'd fallen asleep after he'd gotten off the phone with Jennifer. Thank God. It had all been a dream-or, more

accurately, a nightmare. His heart still racing, he ran his hand through his hair, doing his best to catch his breath.

When he looked at his alarm clock he gasped. 12:47 AM! He had less than a half hour before he had to meet the doc at the Lone Pine Mall.

Quickly he changed his clothes and laced up his white Nike's before grabbing his skateboard and heading for the front door. The house was quiet-perfect for a

quick getaway. But as soon as he reached the walkway, he heard the front door open.

"And just where do you think you're going?"

He froze and then whirled around. "Dad! I-I thought you were asleep!"

His dad laughed. "Well, I was but then I had this incredible dream. You see Darth Vader came down from the Planet Vulcan and said that if I didn't buy your

mother a new car, he'd melt my brain."

Marty's eyes widened. "Whoa… Talk about déjà vu!"

"What?"

"Nothing, nothing. What-so you had a nightmare?"

"Not a nightmare, a revelation! Don't you see? This could be my next book!"

"Okay, but why-."

"Oh, why am I awake? Well, you know how much your mother hates it when I keep her up with my ideas, so I decided to do some work in my office. But you

never answered my question."

"Ah, what question is that?"

"The question of where you're going at-." He glanced at his watch "-1:08 in the morning."

"Well, I was just-did you say 1:08?"

"That's right, Mister. And you'd better start explaining-."

Marty tossed his skateboard onto the walkway and jumped on it, pushing his way toward the street. "I can't explain now, Dad! I'll tell you all about it later,

okay?"

"Marty McFly, you get back here or there'll be no phone calls, no trips to the lake…"

But Marty was already racing down the main street of the Lyon Estates en route to the Lone Pine Mall.

When he arrived it was 1:20 and as expected, Doc Brown was standing in the parking lot near the JC Penney, scowling at him. "Have you no concept of time?"

"I'm sorry Doc, really! I couldn't help it! My old man caught me and I had to come up with an excuse!"

"And did you? I hope it was a good one because I'm taking a huge risk bringing the DeLorean down here again! Who knows how many more Libyans are lurking

around!"

"I'm sorry, Doc. Really. It won't happen again."

"It better not! And next time I'm going to think twice about doing you this favor! In fact, I'm still not sure why I'm doing it for you now!"

"I know… I'm sorry, okay?"

"All right. Now come on, let's go!"

Marty ran over to the DeLorean and climbed inside. He smiled when he saw Einstein sitting in the back and he scratched the dog's head. "Hey, Einie." He

fastened his seat belt as Doc programmed the time circuits to the Saturday of the Enchantment Under The Sea Dance.

"Okay, Marty, now remember. You promised, you're not going to interfere, right?"

"Right. I swear it, Doc. You won't even know that I'm there. Besides, I've already been there twice!"

Doc nodded. "That's true. So why-."

"I told you, it's for Jennifer!"

"I can't even imagine what you're talking about Marty, but it doesn't matter anyway. Let's go."

Marty and Doc pulled the doors down as Doc revved the engine. "All right. Brace yourself.

Marty did as he was told and seconds later the DeLorean sped down the parking lot, going faster and faster until all that was left was a trail of fire.
