Ch. 6

Addendum

"Hey, are we still on for the game tonight?" Jack waited for an answer as he hung up his jacket. He and Bobby had missed a few 'guys' nights' since Bobby and Tara had started dating. On the other hand, they'd picked up quite a few more double 'dates' with Dimitrius and Donna as well as Jack and Sue.

"Sorry, mate, have to cancel. Tara and I have dinner plans; six month anniversary." Bobby grinned as did Tara.

"Mind if I ask where you're going to dinner?" Levi's head shot up when his human mentioned dinner.

"The same place we went on our first official date - Michel's." Tara answered. It had taken her a month and pulling several strings to get the reservations.

"I wanted to go to Slappy's but she turned it down." Bobby and Jack laughed while the ladies present all wrinkled their noses.

"It's been six months already?" Lucy marveled.

"Time flies when you're having fun," Bobby quipped, leaning back in his chair, giving Tara a cheesy grin. She rolled her eyes but smiled back.

"How long has it been for the two of you?" Lucy turned to her best friend, now in the habit of making sure to face the deaf analyst.

"Four months and two weeks," Jack and Sue answered in unison. Everyone broke out in laughter.

"Who was easier to train, Jack or Levi?" Myles asked dryly.

Levi barked as if to say, "Me!" His tail fanned a mile a minute.

"Jack's mom did a great job training him. I just have to use a little positive reinforcement from time-to-time." Sue smirked as Jack shook his head.

"No rolled up newspaper for Sparky, eh?" Bobby joined in.

"She has other ways, believe me." Jack raised one brow as he gave Sue a heated look.

"Oh, Tara, luv, did I leave my brown dress shoes at your place?" Bobby crossed the bullpen to ask quietly.

"I don't think so, but you did leave your gym bag, which is pretty rank, by the way." She shuddered.

"I'll take care of it when we get to the townhouse." Bobby frowned, still wondering where he'd last seen his brown dress shoes.

"I already did." Tara glanced up from her computer screen.

"You two sound like me and Donna," Dimitrius commented as he handed Lucy a clutch of files.

"Yeah, kinda reminds me of my parents." Lucy's smile dimmed just a little bit. She missed her daddy like crazy, especially when his memory snuck up on her.

"Woah now, it's just a pair of shoes, mate." Bobby held both hands up in mock surrender.

"You do seem to leave a lot of stuff at my townhouse lately." Tara brought her coffee over to Bobby's desk. She studied him casually over the rim.

"Seems I spend more time at your place than at my bachelor pad." Bobby shrugged.

"Why don't you just move in?" Tara's tone sounded innocent enough but Bobby saw a guarded tint to her eyes. His answer MATTERED. It wasn't as if he hadn't thought of moving in before, but he wanted to be certain. Hearing her ask in front of their friends, Bobby figured Tara wanted him in her home, her safe space.

"I'll take you up on that offer, luv." He offered Tara his hand. He saw the relief written on her face.

"Good. I was hoping you would." Tara pulled loose and set her coffee cup down. Everyone surreptitiously watched as she pulled a key from her slacks' pocket. It dangled from a leather fob embossed with a large 'B'.

"Aww, how sweet." Lucy leaned her chin on one hand and sighed wistfully. A round of golf claps went up from the rest of the team, and a bark from Levi.

"Have I told you lately how wonderful you are and how much I love you?" Bobby took Tara's hand again as he looked into her eyes; totally smitten.

"It's been an hour or two." Tara grinned. "I love you, too," she said softly.

Bobby blew her a little kiss as Tara sighed. Her desk phone called for her attention. They would talk later about moving arrangements and taking the next step in their relationship.
