It was already late at night and David was still sitting there on the sofa with Julia in his arms, who was hugging him tightly, sleeping peacefully… although he perfectly knew, if she would stay at the same position, all of her muscles will hurt by morning, he was still unable to lose contact with her… not yet, not now… the warmness of her body, the smell of her hair, and the way she snuggled up to him was an indescribable feeling, what he wouldn't have traded for anything else in the world… not to mention, it was such a relief to know she felt safe with him and he wanted to give her this safety so badly… since he knew her, he instinctively tried to protect her from everything and everybody… especially from that particular someone...

David was still unable to forget the feeling when he saw that true fear in her eyes, escalating so many things inside him… anger… despair… and the urge to comfort her… but mostly he felt the urge to catch that bastard and kill him wherever he was… it was a horrible thing to wonder on what did he do to her, but he had a few guesses and these imaginations hunted him… hunted him with the sight of her, as she was standing there in front of him so lost and distracted, with her hands shaking… so he perfectly knew he must stop that bastard with finding a proper solution… a solution at any price.

That's what he was thinking on, when she moved a bit and his thoughts returned to her... immediately knowing it's really time to take her to a more comfortable place, so he picked her up and took her to bed carefully… as he adjusted the blanket on her, she suddenly turned around with a murmuring, but fortunately didn't wake up, so he tried not to make any noise as he sat down to the floor… he also skipped the idea of laying next to her, because he didn't want to ruin anything with a bold move, he was too happy about the way things developed between them… so he just sat there on the ground and stared at his mobile's screen, exchanging text messages with his colleagues and browsing on the net, trying to find any kind of useful information about Roger.

He didn't know how long he had been sitting there, when a message popped up on the screen, saying that Roger's location changed, and as he realized from the route that he was heading to Julia, he immediately jumped up and rushed down to the street…

"Hey Skip!… Hey!" shouted Tom from the backup vehicle, seeing him heading towards the main street. "What's the matter?" he asked as David reached him.

"It seems we'll have a little company very shortly."

"Just not her ex-husband again?" sighed Tom, rolling his eyes. "I'm sick of this bloke really! It's not enough we have to stay here all night about him, but…"

"Hey I've told you to go home," remarked David. "There's really no need for the two of us to stay with the Home Secretary, I can handle it."

"Of course, you can handle it Skip, but I won't listen her complains in the morning as usual… so no, thank you. Oh, here comes that bastard." he pointed to the road and they watched as Roger parked his car. "Come on, let's take care of him!"

"No, wait!" David stopped him. "Just stay here, okay? Let me handle this on my own…" he said determined, then angrily headed towards him.

"Well, well, the knight in shining armor!" Roger said mockingly, getting out of the car. "Did you finally succeed to move here?" he laughed on his own joke, right before David pushed him to the wall with a quick movement.

"You fucking bastard! What did you do to her?!" he cried angrily, pushing him as hard as he could.

"So it seems she's got my little message, great!" he smiled. "You know, sometimes she really needs a little reminder to know where her place is."

"What did you do to her?!"

"…"

"I won't ask again!" David hissed angrily.

"Just gave her exactly what bitches deserve…" he laughed and a moment later he was on the ground, because David punched him in the face strongly.

"You know, it's finally time to someone show you where YOUR place is!" he hissed. "If you dare to go near her… or call her… or just send a fucking message ever again, I will kill you! Do you understand that?!"

"Wow, what a passion! It seems you finally got into her knickers, right?" he laughed, wiping away the blood from his nose. "Not as if it were a difficult thing, Julia was always such a slut!"

"Don't you dare to say her name ever again!" he cried, his eyes burned with revenge.

"Then what?"

"Then I'll kill you!" hissed David and started beating Roger, hitting him any place he could reach him.

"David! David, let him go!" said Tom and tried to hold him back. "He doesn't worth the money…"

"You won't get away with this!" cried Roger as he climbed into his car. "There will be consequences loser!" he hissed and drove away…

OOOOOOOO

Next morning as she woke up, she heard noises from the kitchen, but she perfectly knew it was none other than David…

"Good Morning…" she smiled sleepily, stroking her arm as she came out from her bedroom. "Do I smell coffee there?"

"Yeah, I've already made you some… fresh on this morning, ma'am." he joked a bit and handed her a mug.

"Thank you, it smells wonderful." she accepted the hot liquid gratefully.

"How did you sleep?… Maybe it sounds as a stupid question after last night, but…"

"No, not at all." she protested. "Actually, I slept quite well… but I'm sure I owe that mostly to you."

"I hope that means you had some sweet dreams about me, right?" he flirted.

"Yeah, nearly." she chuckled. "Just… I could finally relax a bit. Knowing that you were here with me was… utterly comforting." she added sweetly and he was lost in her eyes for a moment.

"Comforting is good," he repeated absent-mindedly.

"Yeah... it is indeed." she looked down with a smile. "And… how did you sleep?" she asked, made him regained his senses. "I mean have you slept at all?"

"Uhm, only a little bit on the sofa, but I was rather thinking," he explained.

"I see… a quiet night is perfect for thinking."

"Yeah, that's right." he agreed kindly and absolutely had no intention to tell her what happened in front of her house. "I could finally rethink a few things, so it was quite useful... hey, you okay?" he asked softly, seeing she was somewhere else in mind.

"Yes, of course. I just..." she searched for the words. "I just want to say thanks for yesterday… I'm sorry, but it seems I was a bit torn apart."

"That's okay, really." he stepped closer, stroking her arm gently. "You don't have to say anything, it was a long and trying day."

"If you have other things to do…" she suddenly felt remorse. "I mean I don't want to keep you up. You know, I…"

"You're not keeping me," he said puzzled. "Why are you saying that?"

"But it's already weekend, maybe you have plans and…" she started babbling.

"Hey, you want me to go?" he asked softly with a smile.

"No, of course not." she denied, then added shyly. "I just don't want to keep you up with my problems… with my life."

"Look… even if I had any plans, there could be nothing more important than be here with you." he stroked her face lovingly. "Do you understand that?" he asked, and she just nodded with a smile, before he slowly drew her to his embrace and she welcomed his kiss with all of her being… but actually, not as long as they would have wanted, because someone was knocking on the door… quite a few times.

"I think we should really open it now…" she whispered, feeling his smile against her lips. "What do you think, hm?"

"Right, I'm going." he gave up with a sigh and went to opened the door.

"Morning Skip… Ma'am." Tom added quickly as he saw her in the background.

"Everything is okay Tom?" he asked.

"Yeah, sure. I just wanted to say that I should leave soon, if it's okay."

"You're still here since yesterday?" asked Julia surprised, stepping closer.

"Yes, it seemed better to stay after what happened last night, ma'am."

"How you mean that?"

"Tom means the threatening message…" David added quickly, trying to save the situation.

"Yes and not to mention that little fight on the street at dawn." grinned Tom, "Well done, Skipper! You gave him what he deserved."

"What?!…" asked Julia, turning to David with disbelief. "Roger was here?!"
