Revy awoke at what she assumed was noon-ish. There was sunlight coming in through the window; illuminating her naked form, alone in the bed she loved sharing with Rock. He was always the one to wake early, constantly being charged with waking her up for work, back when she could work. She was sure Dutch had put him up to it originally just to see how long he would last against her. Surprisingly, he'd made it this far, and now woke her up with a kiss after spending the nights fucking her senseless. She smiled at this revelation, remembering how they had gotten to this point.
They had finally had a no holds barred argument aboard the Black Lagoon after a mission. Rock had not been himself since the mess with the Lovelace kid's freaky love affair with the crazy maid, Roberta (Revy still wasn't sure what type of love those two had, but it was best not to think about it. She hoped she'd never see them again). At Dutch's request, she had gone out to offer Rock a beer for a job well done, only to find him preparing to kill himself. This had shaken Revy to her core, and in true Revy fashion, when she was scared or confronted, she pulled her Beretta's on him and started yelling at him; calling him names and telling him how dumb he was. It wasn't until he put the gun to his head a cocked the hammer did she finally realize what she had to do; the hardest thing for her to attempt. She had to actually tell Rock how she felt about him. And when she did, it was as if a weight had lifted off of her, and she crumpled to the deck of the boat. She couldn't look at him. She was sure she knew what would happen next. Rock would pull the trigger, finally leaving this life behind; leaving her behind. There was no way he would ever understand her or want to be with her after all she had done in her life. And that revelation became a new weight holding her down. She waited for what felt like hours for the sicking sound of a gunshot to pierce the air; to bring to an end the last small piece of her that could have a normal life. Truth be told, if he pulled the trigger, she'd probably turn her own Cutlass on herself. There would be no point in trying to live with him gone. So she kept her head down and waited.
But the sound that came next was not a gunshot, but a splash. She snapped her head up to look at Rock, for fear he'd jumped overboard. But what she saw brought on a whole different set of emotions. Rock had thrown the gun over the side of the boat! She watched with tear soaked eyes as he had slowly walked over to her and fell to his knees. He had tried to speak, but Revy jumped him, grabbing him in a tight hug with no intention of ever letting go. He had chosen her over everything else. He was the first person who cared enough about her to put everything in his life aside for her; unlike her father, unlike that fucking pig at the police station, unlike even Dutch who would always put the company above all else. And when he returned her hug, she felt like a little girl again, who was finally getting the comfort and security she deserved.
The two pirates sat there on the deck hugging and crying for some time, until they ran out of tears. When they finally broke the embrace, they looked into each others eyes.
"Revy. I had no idea"
"You dumbass" She replied, a slight smile creeping onto her face. "Figures you'd say something and run the moment"
"Well someone had to say something. I figured you weren't gonna so that left me"
"You asshole-"
"It's ok. You don't have to say anything. I get it"
"You do?" A surprised Revy asked. She wasn't used to someone understanding anything about her, especially when she made sure no one could.
"Yeah. It all makes sense now. I just wasn't listening hard enough. You've been telling me everything I needed to know from the day we met. I just didn't listen until tonight"
"Is that so? So what now, you gonna tell everyone how you cured the great Two Hands is that it?" Revy forcibly asked, anger lacing her tone.
Rock smiled warmly at her.
"No. I'm not gonna tell anyone. I don't want anyone to know"
This surprised Revy, who was sure that Rock was gonna brag that he had finally saved someone, something he hadn't successfully done once.
"Why not?" She asked in a small voice, which surprised her.
"Roanapur is a disease. You know that. Anything that gets into this place ends up covered in mud from the gutter. So if the city doesn't know, then the mud can't cover it. You've saved me more times than I can count; both from outside threats and myself. The least I can do is save you quietly from the shadows"
Revy looked at Rock, stunned. Maybe he had been paying attention for all these years. For the first time in her life, Rebecca Revy Two Hands Lee was at a complete loss for words.
"Rock-I-You-Huh?"
Rock only smiled at this flustered Revy, taking amusement in her befuddlement. Finally Revy managed to get a word out.
"Really though... Why?"
"Why what Revy?"
"Why don't you want anyone to know?"
"Because if I told them the truth about tonight, I'd have to tell them that I've loved you since the day you kidnapped me. And that would be a rather large, embarrassing dent on my already fragile tough guy ego"
"Well I suppose that would make sense, its not like you've ever been all that tough-Wait! What did you just say?" Revy asked, shocked.
"I think you heard me Two Hands? I know you have excellent hearing"
"Don't you fuck with me Rock. Not you!"
"What are you talking about Revy?"
"This is a really sick joke to pull now" Revy replied, anger saturating her voice.
"What joke?" Rock replied.
"You can't possibly be in love with me, your kidnapper. Unless you have Stockholm syndrome. There's no way. Even you aren't that messed up"
Revy started to get up and walk away from Rock. She knew he couldn't mean it. He must have some brain damage. He couldn't possibly love her. It didn't make sense. People like her don't find love. They only live fast, die young, and hopefully leave a good looking corpse. Nothing more. Revy was surprised however, when a strong hand grabbed her arm and pulled her around, his face a mere inches from hers.
"Where there's a will, there's a way" Rock whispered before pushing his lips against hers.
Revy was stunned by Rock's boldness. Never in her wildest dreams did she think that she would ever feel his lips against hers. It felt so right; making her question everything about her life. She let those worries melt away as she returned Rock's kiss. It felt like an eternity when the two finally came up for air; much to both their disappointment. Rock was the first to speak.
"Revy. I hope with that gesture that I proved to you that I really do love-"
"Stop" Revy replied. "Just stop"
"Revy-"
"Look Rock. I'm not good with all this mushy stuff. I don't know what that word is supposed to mean, or feel. I doubt I could even say it without laughing or throwing up"
Rock smiled at this revelation from Revy. For her to say that, meant she really was in love with him, even if she couldn't admit it just yet.
"Ok" Rock replied simply.
"Ok?" Revy asked, very confused. "What do you mean ok? Are you saying you don't love me!?" Her voice rising back into anger as she misunderstood Rock. Emotions were something Revy didn't know how to deal with.
"No Revy. I'm saying it's ok for you to not say it. We've always work together with strategy that I talk my way out of situations and you use your guns. I'm not going to ask you magically change how you are just to appease me. So for now, you use your actions and I'll use my words to navigate this. When you are ready, then we can reverse the rolls"
Revy sat there stunned at Rock. He once again knew exactly what needed to be said, and was willing to respect her apprehension about this to boot. As she looked up at him, still amazed, certain urges, ones she had long thought were locked away came bubbling to the surface. He face changed into one of pure mischief. She stood up and grabbed Rock by his tie, dragging him to his feet.
"Revy, where are we going?"
"Shut up Rock" She replied, dragging him below deck. The last thing that could be seen was Revy forcing Rock into her cabin and slamming the door.
Dutch and Benny were still sitting in the control room of the boat.
"Damn it!" Benny exclaimed. He had just lost a $2,000 bet to Dutch that he had made moments before.
"I told you Benny" Dutch replied, smirking. "Remind me to never take you gambling, you have no idea when to hold, fold, or run"
"If I didn't know better, I'd swear you planned all of this from the git go" Benny Replied indignantly.
"Couldn't have if I wanted to. But that also reminds me, the cost to replace that gun is coming out of Rock's cut"
Benny, despite his anger, laughed along with Dutch.
Revy smiled as she recalled the many happy memories that had followed that tense night, leading up to now. In all her wildest dreams, pregnancy had never once crossed her mind. Yet here she was, 7 months pregnant, uncomfortable, and incredibly horny; despite last nights escapades. She sat up in her bed, the smell of eggs and bacon hitting her nose. Rock seemed to be able to read her mind. She got out of bed, not even bothering to put on clothes and walked toward the kitchen. There she found the love of her life; yes, she could say this now, wearing nothing but his boxers, cooking.
"Well look who finally woke up" Rock called out, smiling at his girlfriend.
"You ass" She replied, smiling. "You try being 7 months pregnant, then you can make jokes"
"Think I'll pass" he replied. "I got some food ready for you. Figured you'd be hungry after last night"
"I'm still hungry for more of last night" Revy responded, a leer present upon her face.
"We shouldn't overdo it. Could be detrimental for the baby" Rock answered, a serious tone and expression crossing his face.
"Don't start with that shit. It would be more, big word you just used, for the pregnant woman to be in a bad mood" Revy spit back at him, an edge appearing in her voice.
"Lets just eat breakfast first" Rock replied, trying to diffuse the situation.
"Oh no you don't" Revy challenged. "You're not gonna deflect this Rocky-Baby. I'm gonna serve your food in such a way you'll have no choice in the matter"
She climbed on the the table, still naked, and grabbed a plate of food. Rock just looked on, knowing he was as good as toast if Revy did what he was thinking. Spoiler alert, she did, and they both wasted another two hours, not even bothering to eat all of the breakfast Rock prepared.
A/N: Ok, I guess I shouldn't make promises I don't plan on keeping. Uploading 6 chapters in a day. Like I said, I had them all written, I just wasn't sure last night if they were ready to post. But after revisions today, I decided they were ready. I like to say I'll post the nest chapter today as well, but in glancing at it, I really need to do more revisions on it. I'd 'like' to think I'll get it out this week, but I can't say that. Life is tricky business after all. Hopefully this story has been everything to you that it has been to me. I've had a blast, and we're not nearly done. Next chapter will find us back with 47/Val. The next few chapters will focus on him and Deep Throat, flushing out their characters a bit more before we reach the climax of the story. Enjoy!
