Glimmer laid on the bed of the guest room staring at the ceiling while Bow was sitting in a chair next to the bed calibrating his bow. Glimmer turned on her side to face him.

"Do you have to do that now?",

"Well with everything that happened on the ship there wasn't enough time to do it", Bow said without looking at Glimmer. She reaches across and touches his hand,"Aren't you the least bit curious about what else is in this castle?"

Bow looks at Glimmer and raises an eyebrow,"Um no, why?"

Glimmer blinked out of bed and was ready to go out the door,"Well I am let's go!",

"Whoa! Hang on!", Bow said as he quickly stood up trying to stop her,"Things were a little tense downstairs I don't think exploring the castle right now is a good idea"

Glimmer rolled her eyes,"Come on Bow what happened to your sense of adventure?".

Against his better judgement Bow follows Glimmer out into the long corridor, they could still hear the raised voices of Tao and Kywa arguing downstairs.

"See I told you! Not a good idea!", Bow whispered.

Glimmer shushed him and they quietly walked along the corridor, the walls were decorated with various tapestries, each one showed a Purrsian in full military regalia with their family.

Glimmer couldn't help but smile when she came to the final tapestry. Tao stood there next to his wife, Glimmer could already tell Catra was related to her, she had the same fur markings except her eyes which were both a golden yellow, she was holding a toddler Kywa and Tao was holding a newborn.

Glimmer had a passing thought about why they hadn't seen Tao's wife which was broken by Bow's squealing after realising it was baby Catra in the tapestry.

"Awww is that Catra? we have to show Adora this!",

Bow got a little closer to investigate the tapestry, leaning his hand on a wall which gave way a little almost making him fall. He regained his footing and stood up, he and glimmer looked at each other.

"Don't even think about-",

Before Bow could finish his sentence Glimmer walked over and pushed the wall a little more and it opened,

"Too late", she exclaimed happily.

They both walked into a dimly lit room, the only light coming from the dirt and cobweb ladened windows letting in a small amount of sunlight. Glimmer waved her hand in front of her. The air was thick with dust, looking around it was clear that this room had been abandoned for some time, sheets covered most of the furniture except the desk, which had various books and scrolls.

Glimmer silently walked over to the desk and picked up an open scroll and showed Bow, he tried to recall why it looked so familiar and then realised that the broken seal was Brightmoon's insignia.

"Why would this be here?", Glimmer whispered to herself as she opened the scroll, she immediately dropped the scroll and covered her mouth.

"Glimmer?! What is it?", Bow rushed to Glimmer's side, he could see she was shaken by whatever was on the scroll,

"I can't...I just….please", Glimmer turned into Bow's chest and started sobbing softly. Bow looked down at the scroll that now laid open on the floor, the handwriting was Queen Angella's.

Bow tried to bend down to pick up the scroll but Glimmer immediately grabbed onto his shirt stopping him, she looked up at him her eyes slightly red,

"Hey, it's ok we don't have to look at it", Bow gave her a reassuring smile and gently wiped away her tears with his thumb.

The sun in the room shifted as Bow held Glimmer, with the subsiding of her tears and the silence that followed the room felt large and cold, Bow could barely stand it,

"Are you ok?", he said, gently brushing away a loose hair from Glimmer's forehead. She nodded without answering,

"Do you want to go back to our room?",

Glimmer took a deep breath,"No not yet", she picked up the scroll.

Bow gently grabbed her hand, "Glimmer…Don't torture yourself like this",

"I have to know, I need to know why…",

Glimmer voices trails off as she starts to read the scroll.

Dear Neara,

My hope is that you will read this letter, although after the way we left things after you left Brightmoon I am unsure.

I need to start out by apologising for the way I spoke to you, blaming you for losing my darling Micah. I should have never projected my loss and guilt onto you, Half-Moon needed it's queen and I should never have expected you to help Brightmoon or the princess alliance that was selfish of me.

I was the one that gave the order, I was the one that sent him and I should have known that you cared for him as much as I did.

I overheard Tao and King Mercia talking about little Elizabeth, I feel awful that my words added to this hurt and I am sincerely sorry.

I do hope that one day, you can forgive me and allow me the chance to apologise in person.

Your friend

Angella

Glimmer frowns as she puts the scroll down on the desk.

"You're not supposed to be in here", Tao says in a low serious tone. Both Bow and Glimmer jump at the sound of his voice.

"We're sorry sir, we didn't mean to-", Bow tries to apologise but Glimmer interrupts,

"Your wife is the queen of Half-Moon?",

Tao frowns but doesn't answer. Bow can see from his expression Tao doesn't want to answer the question,"Glimmer, let's go",

Glimmer ignores Bow,"Your wife caused the original alliance to split up?!"

Tao ears started to flatten down,

"Glimmer! Stop!", Bow said a little more harshly

"No! If she hadn't left-"

Tao snarls and loses his temper,"How dare you! Come into MY home and speak ill of MY wife! You know nothing of what we went through when we lost our daughter!", he feels the anger clenching in his jaw and he looks at Glimmer and Bow, he realises his temper has scared them. He tries to soften his expression a little.

"This has been a rough day on everyone, so please just go back to your room...".

Bow takes Glimmer by the hand and as they leave Tao speaks,

"...once we've all had time to cool down you can ask me again about Neara".

Glimmer nods and her and Bow leave, Tao gives the room a last glance before closing the door.
