Chapter Four: Part 2: Changing Fate's Design

Bella's Pov

Bella calls Charlie

Charlie: Hello Chief Swan speaking.

Bella: Hey dad its Bells.

Charlie: Bells! So did you guys manage to get to Volterra in time to stop DICKWARD?

Bella: Yeah dad we did. I've actually found my true mate while here we were just talking about me needing to come back until I finish school.

Charlie: Oh that's great news Bells I'm so happy for you. Now can I talk to the Kings now?

Bella: Yeah of course dad. Your on speaker phone now dad.

Aro: Hello Chief Swan to what do we owe this pleasure? This is Aro.

Charlie: Hello Lord Aro. I wished to talk to you and your brothers as I'm sure you are unable to read my daughters mind? And I wished to tell you our story also please call me Charlie.

Aro: You are correct Charlie I cannot use my gift on your daughter. Also please use our names.

Charlie: Of course Aro.

Aro: Jane, Alec, Felix please get our guests some chairs to sit on.

Jane: Yes master.

Jane and the others grabbed the chairs for Alice and Jasper

Aro: Now we would love to hear your story my brothers and I only know the story from Edward's point of view.

Charlie: Bella's involvement with the supernatural world first happened when Bells and her mother lived in New York when she was six. My ex wife Renee had been dating a guy that came from a shady family background but she wouldn't believe me when I told her Renee accused me of being jealous of her new relationship and to mind my own business.

But I was right that her new partner was shady but I didn't know that until 2 months later when I was making my way to see my daughter for our annual father daughter holiday I received a phone call from an unknown number informing me that my daughter was in hospital for observation after Renee's boyfriend attempted to kidnap Bella and rape her if it hadn't been for Peter Whitlock my baby would have been killed that day and I would have been none the wiser until I turned up at Renee's place.

It turned out that Peter is our many times great grandfather who was turned during the Civil war by Major Whitlock, Peter had been keeping a watch over his descendents when he discovered that Renee had run off with Bella to New York, Peter and his mate moved into a house just down the street from them to keep an eye on Renee to make sure she wouldn't try anything with Bella.

It wasn't until Bella was six that Renee started dating Royce King 3rd when Peter discovered this Charlotte befriended Bella to give her someone to talk to as Bells was a very shy child growing up, who didn't trust people her own age after being bullied most of her schooling.

Bells tended to gravitate towards Adults while with some people that was fine but she began to gravitate towards Royce Peter feared that Royce was grooming her to begin assaulting her so it was fortuitist that Charlotte had befriended her when she did because Bells went to Charlotte 2 months later crying and really upset it turned out that Renee had been getting drunk with Royce and they'd been abusing Bells in such a way that there was no way for people to see the bruises but also for anyone to be able to go to the police as there was actually no physical evidence that could be used in court.

It was 2 weeks after that when Royce attempted to kidnap and rape my daughter I'll be forever grateful that Peter lived so close to them because Peter saw the attempted kidnapping happen he was able to prevent it from happening but sadly Bella didn't come away from that incident unscathed Royce had broken her arm and given her a concussion when he grabbed her and tried to force her into his car.

I of course broke all speed laws speeding to the hospital to see for my self that Bella was actually ok but to also meet and thank Peter and Charlotte for saving my baby, I was super lucky that I wasn't pulled over for speeding before I got to the hospital but I suspect that had something to do with Peter and not me.

When I arrived at the hospital I was informed that Bella was being keep in for 2 days to make sure there were no other injures, I'd been with Bella for about 2 hours before Renee stumbled in drunk off her ass swearing and shouting at the nurses demanding to know where Bella was. Eventually Charlotte stormed out of Bella's room and screamed at Renee demanding to know where the FUCK she had been when that BASTARD had attacked Bella and why it had taken her so long to get to the hospital.

Renee then tried to slap Charlotte but of course with her being so drunk she ended up falling flat on her ass in front of the nursing station causing everyone to crack up laughing till my daughter became distressed trying to figure out what was so funny, when Renee came stumbling into Bells room she became even more hysterical crying and begging us to keep the devil away from. I of course asked what she meant and Bella told me that's what Bella called Renee whenever she got so drunk because she became extremely violent.

I of course went to the Court house the next day to get custody of Bella but before my case could be heard Renee had packed up and disappeared with Bella again Peter promised that he wouldn't stop trying to find her it wasn't until Bella was fifteen that she began to ask about me and why she wasn't allowed to see me. Renee of course became belligerent with anger then beat the shit out of her then told her that if she ever asked about me again before her seventeen birthday; then Renee would make it so Bella would never see anyone again. Bella told me about that after she moved in with me.

By Bella's sixteenth Peter and Charlotte had found them again this time they were living in Arizona with Renee's new boyfriend, Peter contacted me once they'd settled in to their new place giving me Renee's new partners details to do a police check but he came back clear he's actually a really decent guy before Bella moved to Forks to live with me Phil would make sure that Renee never touched Bella in a violent nature ever again. After Bella moved out Phil left Renee telling her that he only stayed as long as he did was to protect Bella from her Renee of course became angry about that and attacked Phil. Phil reported Renee to the police for assault and child endangerment Renee was sentenced to 55 years to life after the police in New York sent through several reports of abuse, neglect and child endangerment that had been brought against both Renee and Royce but strangely the police never found Royce so Renee was dealt both of their sentences. Renee will never be eligible for parole she will probably die in jail.

When Bella started at Forks High Edward Cullen became obsessed with my daughter as he was unable to read her thoughts and her thought that because her scent called to him that they must have been mates. But you've probably heard this part up until after Edward left.

Aro: Yes we have. But please continue the story after he left.

Charlie: Of course. Bella had left a note on the table informing me that she'd gone for a walk in the forest behind our house with Edward and that she'd be back soon.

But after I'd been home for 1 hour & a half and Bella still hadn't come back I called into the station to ask some of my colleagues to come over to help look for Bella in the forest. We had searched all of the known tracks in the forest it was about 6.30pm by the time we got back to the house. I called down to my friend Billy to see if Bella was down there with his son Jacob, but she wasn't.

Billy, Harry and Jacob all came up to see if there was anything they could do to help. By the time they turned up my colleagues and I had already set up a search centre in the back yard, Billy had also asked the new generation of shifters to head up to my place to search for Bella in the forest along with the other search parties.

Sam and his pack mates headed deeper into the forest than we could go Sam eventually found Bella she'd tripped over a tree root and had curled up into the furrow of the tree she must have passed out from the cold because by the time Sam found her she was close to hypothermia she was also delirious saying continually he's gone.

By the time Sam had managed to hike his way back to the house I'd worked myself up into a frenzy trying to figure out where she could possibly be I was going to call the Cullen place but Harry told me that the Cullen's had left the area apparently the story was that he'd been given a lucrative job offer in LA. Jacob was the one who was the first one to see Sam carrying Bella out of the forest.

Sam then passed her off to me once he'd debriefed with me and Billy he and his pack mates left back to La Push. I of course profusely thanked Sam for finding Bella. Bella for the next four months was in a type of catatonia it wasn't until I confronted her telling her that her behaviour wasn't normal and that I was at the end of the tether that I was actually thinking that I may have to commit her.

After that she seemed to snap out of it she started hanging out with her school friends again she also started spending most of her time in La Push with Billy's boy rebuilding motor bikes, Jake had called me later the same day that Bella brought the bikes informing me of Bella's plan he'd been worried by the look in her eyes. I asked him to rebuild the bikes that maybe it would bring back the old Bella from before DUCHEWARD.

But it sadly didn't someone so much as mentioned the Cullen's it was like she was trying to hold herself together by hugging herself; when Jake shifted for the first time he was forced to stay away from Bella with caused her to have a relapse. While she was waiting for Jake to get better she went to the meadow that Edward first showed her when she made it there another human drinking vampire was there, I'm not sure what was said between them before the pack turned up.

But the pack turned up just as this vampire was about to kill Bella they of course jumped into action when this vampire saw the pack he turned and ran the pack gave chase and eventually managed to catch and kill that vampire. Bella must have bolted as soon as they had disappeared because when she came running in the door she was hysterical. That was when she then informed me that the bear sighting that had been being reported weren't bears but huge wolves I of course already knew about the pack but had to put on an act for Bella so my friend Harry and I organized a hunting party to go out the next day.

I had to go to the station to organize my officers for the search when I told Bella she got this really freaked out look in her eyes but she told me she was fine. Bella then became determined to find out what had happened to Jake. Jake came to see her later the same evening that they had a fight Jacob was trying to get her to remember the stories he'd told her when she'd first moved back but she hadn't been able to, Jake of had to go back before the pack realized that he was missing.

Bella was up early the next morning and went down to Jake's to what I assume is to confront him but he'd been still asleep when she'd stormed into his room that's when Bella spotted Sam and his pack from Jake's she then stormed out of Jake's house and confronted Sam demanding to know what he'd done to Jake. Paul on of the pack became confrontational towards Bella demanding to know what Jake had told her. She'd said that Jake hadn't told her anything because he was afraid of them.

Paul then made the stupid decision to laugh at Bella but Bella made the even more dangerous decision to slap Paul which caused him to loose control and phase in front of Bella Jake hearing the arguing came bounding out of his house but spotting that Paul had phased he shifted on the fly to protect Bella from getting hurt, Sam ordered the other members to take Bella to Sam's fiancée Emily's place while he dealt with Jake and Paul.

I'm not sure what happened between Bella and the other s leaving and Jake, Paul and Sam turning up at Sam's and Emily's place. But Bella and Jake went down to the beach to talk and that's when Jake found out about who the vampire in the meadow was and who the other vampire is that was still running around Forks and La Push Bella told the pack that the red haired vampire that they were chasing was called Victoria and that she was after Bella for revenge against Edward for killing her mate. Paul of course said that they could use Bella as bait but Jake immediately shut that down. Jake told me about all of this later that day when he dropped Bella back home. Before you ask the pack are not werewolves they are shape-shifters.

Bella spent the next few months hanging out with Jake and the pack. Until a couple of days ago when she went cliff diving on her own in the middle of a storm it was lucky that the pack had just killed Victoria and Jake heard her scream and was able to save her life. Alice had a vision of Bella jumping but not of her coming back up so Jasper and Alice came back to Forks to make sure she was alright, and that's it.

Bella: Dad how can that be true mum was at the hospital when I ended up there after my accident?

Charlie: Bells she was on parole while they were searching for Royce but she was put in jail after we went back to Forks that's why you were never able to get a hold of her.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door

Caius: Enter.

New Comer: My kings. Also Bella Renee has been slapped with a restraining order that stops her from having any contact with you.

Marcus: Who are you? How do you know my mate?

Peter: My apologies my kings my name is Captain Peter Whitlock and this lovely lady is my mate Charlotte.

Charlie: What took you so long old man?

Peter: Oi who you calling old? Old man?

Jasper: Pete so you didn't think any of this was imperative for me to know when I told you about Bella when Edward first started courting her?

Peter: I didn't realize that you were living in Forks, Washington at the time until Charlie called me to complain about the constipated prick over there telling me that he was developing a nasty habit of climbing into Bella's room at night when Edward assumed that Charlie would be asleep.

Charlie: If there isn't anything else that you need form me I've got to get but to funeral after celebration. Also Marcus if your planning on come back with Bells when she comes back can you please either call or text me how many people will be coming with you so I can get the back cabins cleared out ready for your arrival?

Marcus: No we don't need anything else if my brothers and I think of anything else I can just ask you when we arrive back in Forks. Also I will be bringing five others with us when we make the return journey to Forks. Also thank you for sharing your story with us.

Charlie: Of course. Ok. I'll have everything ready. Goodbye.

The Brothers: Goodbye Charlie.
