Chapter 6

Rory was driving and talking with Steph on the phone, hands free, about the guys and what they might be up too. As Rory approached the airstrip, she did not see the Huntzburger plane, but she did see Mitchum. She asked if Logan had already left for New Haven? Mitchum was mad. He had been waiting on the plane for an hour. Logan should have been at the airstrip by now. Mitchum was on the phone with the pilot, and he explained that Logan never arrived at the airstrip in New York. Mitchum told him to leave him and get to Hartford now.

Rory was concerned that Logan had not gotten on the plane. Mitchum just chalked it up to being Logan. Rory knew that if Logan was not going to make the plane that he would have called her. Rory decided that being there with Mitchum was a bad idea.

As Rory was driving back to New Haven, she called Finn. Finn had not spoken to Logan. Collin was there and he told Rory that he had not heard from him either. Rory was getting worried. Finn and Collin just smiled. They knew that Logan's plan to propose. They figured he was just getting the last-minute things he needed and had missed the plane-he would show up soon.

Rory got back to the apartment in New Haven, she was a mess. She was so worried about Logan. She called Honor, but she also told her she hasn't heard from Logan. Collin and Finn came busting in the apartment per usual. Rory was still on the phone trying to get in touch with Logan. The guys could tell she was upset so they tried to comfort her by telling her that it would all work out.

After listening to Finn and Collin, Rory was getting mad. She thought that Logan was planning a surprise for her and it was making her mad that he had worried her. Finn convinced her to get dress up. After a while Finn finally convinces Rory to go to the rooftop terrace to see the full moon. She was now sure that Logan had a surprise for her, and that Finn and Collin are in on it. As they reach the stairs to the roof, Finn gets a text from Collin, informing him that Logan was no where to be found. Finn stopped Rory from going to the roof, telling her that it would be chilly on the roof and she probably needs a jacket. When she leaves to go get the jacket, Finn called Colin.

Finn- "what the bloody hell? Where is he?"

Collin- "I don't know. Last I talked to him he was picking up the ring at Tiffany's. That was about noon today. I haven't heard from him since."

Finn- "Try calling him."

Collin- "You don't think I have been trying? It goes straight to voice mail."

Finn- "Okay, okay, let me try. Bloody hell what is he thinking. He should be here. Come on down to the apartment help me try to explain to Rory what the hell is going on without telling her that he is going to propose."

Collin came down the stairs. He and Finn meet Rory as she was leaving the apartment. "Love, wait a minute." Finn said.

Collin said. "Hey reporter girl, where you going?"

"I was headed to the roof top with Finn to see the full moon. What are you doing here Collin? I thought you and Logan had your monthly meeting with your dads?

"Well about that, lets go sit down in the apartment."

"But Finn wants to see the full moon, he has convinced me that it is important. It is for one of his outrageous class he is taking."

"No, Love, let's go in and talk."

As Rory open the apartment door, she was chewing on her bottom lip, she was worried. She had a feeling deep in the pit of her stomach, that something was wrong. She just didn't know what.

Rory goes to the kitchen and starts a pot of coffee. Finn heads to the bar cart and starts pouring drinks.

Collin and Finn are whispering at the bar cart, trying to decide how much and what to tell Rory. Collin and Finn finally agree to tell her as much as they can without telling her that Logan was going to propose.

Collin tells Rory that Logan had planned a special dinner on the rooftop and Finn was suppose to get her up there to an awaiting Logan. Rory then asked why they are not on the rooftop with Logan. She had a feeling she was not going to like the answer. Collin told her at that Logan had not shown up. He explained that he had been trying to call him, but his phone was going straight to voice mail. As Collins was talking, Rory was dialing Logan's number. Straight to voice mail. She then called Honor, Lagan's sister.

Honor answered the phone after looking at the caller id, Honor being one that does not wait for anyone started rambling on.

Honor- "Hello, oh Rory, please tell me you love it. He showed it to me last week before he had it sized. It is so beautiful. I had hoped my grandma Victoria would leave it to me in her will, but it was left to Logan. So glad you are the one getting it. You have got to send me a picture with in on your finger and oh, we have got to get together and go shopping, this is so exciting. I can't wait for you to be my sister. Have you talked about dates? Oh how" before Honor could go any further Rory interrupted her. "Honor what are you talking about. I called you to see if you knew where Logan is. He is not answering his phone. What do you mean you can't wait to be my sister?

At this point Collin grabbed the phone from Rory and told Honor that Logan did not show up for the special dinner and they did not know where he is. Honor said let me try, I will call dad to see if maybe he stopped by his office and dad has him delayed. I call you right back.

Mean while Logan was just waking up. He was trying to figure out what is going on. He was laying on a hard metal floor. He could barely see. There was a small stream of light coming from the window way up high. It was the full moon. Oh no, he is supposed to be meeting Rory on the roof top. What was he doing here? Where is here? He tried to get up, but he was dizzy. He was trying to remember what happen and how he got here. He was finally able to stand up. He went toward the window, but soon realized it was too high. He would need something to stand on. He looked around, nothing in the room but him and some sports equipment. He walked over toward the equipment and saw a light switch. He flicked the switch on a single light bulb dimly lit up. He surveyed his surrounding, trying to figure out what happened. He remembered leaving Tiffany's and stopping at the coffee shop for a cup of coffee and a sandwich. He left there and was about to walk into the cleaner to pickup his good suit and that is all he remembers. He feels in his pockets for his phone and the ring. Oh no what happened to the ring. The ring that he was going to propose to Rory with. The antique ring that his grandma left to him, the ring that his grandfather had inherited from his grandfather. This was a family heirloom. Had he been mugged. If so, why was he in this room. What was he going to do? Wait, he thinks he hears a noise coming from the wall. He gets closer and puts his ear to the wall. Yes, he hears the tv and maybe someone talking. He can barely make out what is being said. He was getting ready to beat on the wall and yell for help when he hears his name. He listens and hears a male voice talking. He can only make out a few words but he is sure he hears kidnapped and train. Maybe he better not beat on the wall just yet.

Back at Logan and Rory's apartment, Finn, Collin, Rory and Honor are pacing around. Each on their cell phone, calling everywhere they think Logan may be. Rory had been asking questions to the point that Honor was ready to tell her about the proposal. Rory is on the phone with the bartender at the pub when she receives a text. She hung up the phone and told everyone, "hey, I just got a text from Logan." She opened it up and read it. She was just looking at the phone. Tear are forming in her eyes and she is too shocked to notice. She just collapsed on the sofa. Finn grabbed the phone and read the text.

Logan-Rory, I'm sorry but I cannot do this anymore. This is not right. I do not love u. I need you to move out of the apartment and be gone before I get back. I am so sorry.

Finn read this out load. Honor sat next to Rory and was hugging her telling her that could not be from Logan. Finn and Collin started trying to call Logan again, both going to voice mail. Everyone was yelling and talking at once. Rory was just curled up in a ball on the sofa crying.

Finally Honor yell. "STOP, everyone Stop. Think about this. This can not be coming from Logan."

Finn said "but it came from his phone" Collins said "yeah, but maybe he left his phone somewhere and someone picked it up."

Collin snatched the phone from Finn and looked at it again. He asked Rory, "does Logan always start off his text with your name? Doesn't he call you Ace?"

Honor then grabbed the phone and said, "yeah Rory, he always refers to you as Ace," Honor asked Rory if it is okay for her to look at previous text that Logan had sent. After looking a 2 or 3 text she tells the gang that Logan did not send it. Logan's text always calls her Ace, Logan's text also shows that he uses contractions and never uses u for you.

Honor stepped to the bathroom and called her dad. She explained to him what is going on. He tells her that he is sure that it is nothing. It is just Logan being Logan. She tells her dad about his mother's ring and that she knows Logan would not ditch Rory.

Mitchum thinks about this for a few minutes and tells Honor that he will send someone to Logan's apartment. He is on a plane and is headed to London. He will arrange for a standby pilot to fly him back to New Haven. He told Honor to call him if they find Logan before he gets there. He then tells her "Logan better not be playing some practical joke."

While they are waiting on Mitcham's guy to get there, they explain to Rory about the proposal. She is excited, but worried.

What could have happened to him. They had called all the hospitals as well as the police stations. No one knows the whereabouts of Logan.
