The crew pointed their flashlights at the surrounding forest trying to find what made that terrible shout but didn't find anything. The crew eventually stopped looking and set up a camp in the area they were in. But they were still on their guard because they still didn't know who or what shouted in the forest.
When the camp was ready, the crew started putting sensors and security cameras around the camp in case of intruders. After that was done, the team started eating evening snacks. While they were eating, they couldn't help but wonder what that shout was.
"What was that shout anyway?" Jason asked.
"I'm not sure but it sounded like Japanese," Daniel said.
"Did you get what it said?" Mitchell asked.
"I didn't catch it, but it sounded like someone was furious," Daniel said.
"But if it was a human-talking, it proves that this planet is inhabited," Carter said.
"I agree," Teal'c said.
"But whoever made that shout didn't sound friendly. We better be careful and have our weapons ready at all times," Mitchell said.
Everyone agreed and continued eating. But while they were eating, they didn't notice that they were being watched. Konoha 11 and their Senseis were watching the crew from the cover of the forest.
But they kept their distance from Naruto because they were afraid that he will kill them as he said he would. But Naruto on the other hand felt regret growing in his heart. He knew that he went too far but it was just unfair that his so-called friends got everything and he got nothing.
As for Sakura, she felt her heart shatter at what just happened. She never thought that what she and everyone in the village did to Naruto finally broke him and she was afraid that her chance to repair the broken bond between them was now hopeless.
Ino noticed her friend's depression and was very worried about her. After years of enduring pain, Naruto was finally getting a chance to be more than friends with Sakura as he always hoped. But instead of taking that chance, he rejected her. Ino and her friends thought that Naruto went too far but they understood that Naruto probably wanted them to feel the same pain he always felt ever since he was born. Ino looked at Sakura and couldn't help but notice the tears that were falling from her eyes.
"Please, don't lose your hope Sakura. Naruto may be angry at you and all of us but you can't lose your hope, not now that you have come so far," Ino thought.
But while they were watching the strangers, they were suddenly interrupted when Sai and the troops Danzo sent quietly came to their positions and started asking questions.
"Have you learned anything about the strangers?" Sai asked.
"We were sent here by Tsunade. We only answer to her," Kakashi said.
"Need to remind you that Danzo and the council sent us here because this is a first contact situation. Which means that all intel we find is shared," Sai reminded Kakashi.
Kakashi and the others didn't like that they had to work alongside the Root ANBU and share whatever intel they find with them. They knew that Danzo was a power-hungry lunatic and his forces couldn't be trusted but they didn't have a choice because the council overpowered Tsunade on this one.
"We know the rules fully well, Sai. But I can't share any information right now because we haven't learned anything yet," Kakashi said.
Sai simply nodded and they kept observing.
Later at night
After the crew ate their snacks, they went into their tents and fell asleep. While they were sleeping though, they didn't notice the shinobis in the forest who were still stalking them in the cover of darkness.
They thought they should infiltrate the camp and gather intel but devices the strangers set around their camp seemed to be some kind of security system warning them if they tried to sneak into the camp.
"We need to sneak into the camp," Kakashi said.
"But how do we do that with all those things around their camp?" Kiba asked.
Everyone began to think about what they should do until Ino had an idea.
"I can sneak in undetected," Ino said getting everyone's attention.
"But how do you do it?" Sakura asked.
"Naruto will give me some of Kyuubi's chakra that will be like a camouflage me and allow me to sneak into the camp," Ino said explaining her plan.
Some in the group thought that it was too risky while others thought that it might work. But when they looked at Naruto, they could see that he wasn't exactly in the mood of helping them by giving his chakra.
"Naruto?" Shikamaru asked being very concerned now.
"Why?" Naruto asked.
"Why what?" Tenten replied.
"Why should I give you any of my chakras?" Naruto asked with a little anger in his voice. "It is obvious that I won't gain anything from it."
"Naruto, I understand you're angry at us and you have every right to be. But there's a lot at stake," Kakashi said.
"You always used that excuse to keep me in line," Naruto accused.
"Naruto! That is not fair! You can't lose your faith and trust in us all of the sudden because-"
Because what Haruno?! Because you got everything while I was left to rot in the dirt! You mistreated me my whole life! You betrayed me!" Naruto shouted.
Everyone took a step back to avoid getting Naruto even angrier. They knew that they crossed the line now but they hoped that Naruto wouldn't become so angry that he would transform into Kyuubi as he did a little while ago.
Everyone stayed silent until Ino spoke.
"Naruto, I understand why you don't trust us anymore and if I were in your place, I would feel the same," Ino said.
It was true that Naruto didn't trust Ino or consider her as a friend either but was willing to listen to what she had to say.
"But I can't sneak into the camp without your chakra. I only need a small part of it, nothing more," Ino said.
Naruto was smart enough to know that Ino had a point. But he still didn't trust her along with other shinobi from Konoha. He only had one more question to ask to find out if he could at least trust Ino.
"How do I know this isn't a trick to get rid of me," Naruto said.
Ino was taken back by Naruto's question but she knew he had every right to doubt her and her friends. But she had to convince Naruto that she didn't have any ill intentions towards Naruto.
"Naruto, I know you don't trust me. But I have no intentions to harm or betray you," Ino said.
Naruto knew that Ino had more to say so he kept listening.
"I only need a small amount of your chakra, nothing more. I wouldn't ask if it wasn't necessary," Ino said.
With a little help from Kurama, Naruto could feel that Ino was telling the truth. Sure he didn't still trust her fully but he didn't see any harm to lend her a little of his chakra.
"Alright, but only a small amount. Nothing more," Naruto said which surprised everyone, even Sakura.
"I understand," Ino said.
Naruto put his hand on Ino's shoulder and started to glow red as he gave Ino some of Kyuubi's chakra. After he gave Ino what she needed, she used the chakra Naruto gave to turn herself invisible and started walking towards the camp. (I know Ino doesn't have that ability but she does in this story)
She carefully sneaked past the sensors and security cameras without setting off the alarm. After she got into the camp, she began to search it for intel. She checked a few tents but didn't find anything.
"How hard is it to find information about these guys?" Ino thought as she was getting frustrated.
She continued her search until she came across another tent. But for some reason, she felt that she should take a look inside.
"What is this? Why do I feel a sudden need to see what's inside that tent?" Ino thought.
She wasn't sure about it but she decided to trust her instincts and walked quietly towards the tent. When she was in front of it, she carefully opened the tent and took a look inside. A young man was sleeping in the tent but she couldn't see his face because it was partly covered by a blanket.
Ino carefully took the backpack she saw next to the stranger and got out of the tent. After she made sure no one was watching, she carefully opened the backpack and took a look at what was inside. What she saw first were a pair of boots and some spare clothes but when she looked deeper, she saw what looked like a picture frame.
"Huh? They have pictures?" Ino thought.
She carefully picked the picture frame from the backpack and took a closer look at it. But when she did it, she froze like a statue.
In the picture were three men who looked like soldiers but what caught Ino's attention was the man with white skin, brown hair, and green eyes. He looked exactly the man she saw in her dream a few days ago when they arrived.
"It... it can't be. It's... it's him," Ino thought as she put her hand over her mouth.
She carefully put the picture back into the backpack and sneaked back into the tent and put the backpack back in its place. She was about to leave until the idea truck in her mind.
"I can't leave. Not yet," Ino thought and turned to the stranger who was sleeping in the tent.
She moved carefully so she wouldn't wake him up but she was able to get close enough to get a closer look. She carefully moved a blanket a little so she was able to see his face. But as soon as she did it, she gasped.
The man who was sleeping in front of her was exactly the one she saw in her dream and a few days ago. Her heart suddenly started beating so hard that it could almost be heard.
Ino just stood there until something inside her started to take control of her. She moved her face closer to the stranger's who moaned in his sleep when he felt Ino's warm breath. Ino kept moving her face closer and closer until her lips were above the stranger's lips.
"What am I doing? It's like my body is telling me what to do," Ino thought.
She was about to kiss him until the alarm went on which woke up the stranger. But luckily she wasn't seen because she was still invisible.
As soon as the alarm turned on, Jason immediately woke up and got out of his tent along with his friends and the rest of the crew.
"What the hell is going?" Mitchell asked.
"There's an intruder in the camp," Carter said.
"Alright, grab your weapons and find the intruder," Mitchell ordered.
Everyone nodded and put on their clothes before going to the camp's armory. Jason along with the rest of his team took P90 (with weapon lights) and joined the other members of the crew to search the intruder.
Ino hid in the shadows while thinking how they could have seen her. It made no sense, she was invisible thanks to Kyuubi's chakra and it didn't wear off yet. She went through all possible explanations until she saw Sai hiding behind a tent some distance away from her.
"Sai? What is he doing here?" Ino thought.
She decided to get answers so she quietly walked towards Sai who was too busy not to get noticed by strangers. But when she was close enough, she noticed that Sai was doing something. He had a matchstick in his hand he had just lighted. Ino's eyes widened because it didn't take even a second to realize what Sai was doing.
"He's gonna set the camp on fire! Is he insane?!" Ino thought.
After Sai just lighted the matchstick, he was about to drop it on the tent until Ino jumped on him.
"What the hell you think you're doing?!" Ino yelled.
"Unlike you, I'm following my orders," Sai simply said.
Ino thought she stopped Sai in time but when she suddenly smelled smoke, her eyes widened in horror. She looked at the tent and saw that it was on fire and unfortunately, the fire was spreading quickly.
The crew soon noticed that the tents were on fire and tried to put out the fire but it was spreading too fast.
"The fire is spreading too fast!" Carter said.
"We can't let it spread into the vehicles or there will be loud bangs!" Mitchell said.
As soon as the Root ANBU noticed that the strangers' camp was on fire, they knew that Sai has achieved his objective.
"That's the signal. Move out!" The Root ANBU ordered.
"No! Our orders are not to attack the strangers!" Asuma yelled as he ran after the Root.
But when they reached a certain distance of the camp, one of the Root ANBU stepped onto something on the ground and the explosion followed. This didn't go unnoticed by the crew who was still trying to put out the fire.
"Something hit the minefield," Teal'c said.
"Go check it out," Mitchell told Jason.
"Understood," Jason replied.
He quickly ran to the perimeter and grabbed binoculars to see what hit the mine. There was some smoke in the field because of the explosion so it was a little hard to see what hit the mine exactly. But luckily the smoke cleared soon but what Jason saw wasn't pretty.
On the ground was a dead Root ANBU who was unlucky enough to step on the mine and blow into pieces. But that was not that caught both Jason and the shinobis attention, it was that Asuma was lying on the minefield with his legs missing. He tried to stop the Root ANBU from attacking the strangers but he got careless in the process and stepped onto a mine.
The shinobi were terrified by what they saw, especially Kurenai who couldn't take it anymore.
"Asuma!" Kurenai yelled in horror.
She tried to run to him but was stopped by Kakashi and Guy.
"Let me go! Kurenai demanded.
"You can't go out there!" Guy said.
"I'll have to! Asuma needs my help!" Kurenai yelled.
"There are more of those explosives hidden on the ground. You'd only blow yourself up," Kakashi said trying to calm Kurenai down.
"He's right Kurenai sensei, I can see them with my Byakugan," Hinata added.
Kurenai still wanted to go to save Asuma but she knew her comrades had a point and she trusted Hinata. The Root ANBU were forced to retreat to the forest to rethink their plan but they still had Sai in the camp.
Jason soon noticed the natives hiding in the forest and reported it to his team.
"We've got natives in the forest," Jason said through the radio.
"Are they attacking?" Mitchell asked.
"Some of them tried to but they hit the minefield we set," Jason said.
"If they attacked once, they'll attack again," Teal'c said.
"We still need to put out the fire and find the intruders," Carter said.
Unfortunately, they didn't get a lot of time to think about their options when they suddenly noticed that the wounded native with his legs missing disappeared, and in his place appeared a piece of wood. The crew couldn't believe what they just saw and tried to come up with an explanation.
"How is that possible? How can they even do that?" Carter asked.
"Uh, I think I forgot to mention that the natives of this planet possess some sort of powers," Daniel said feeling really awkward now.
"Oh great. Is there something else you forgot to mention?" Mitchell asked not feeling very happy right now.
But before Daniel could answer, the red energy (Kyuubi's chakra) suddenly started to spread around the minefield, and in a matter of seconds, it detonated the mines around the camp. This shocked the crew even more because the natives had powers and they just lost their first line of defense.
After Naruto cleared out the mines with his chakra, Kakashi gave them new orders.
"Alright, Kurenai and Sakura will stay here to take care of Asuma. The rest of us will go to the camp and retrieve Ino and Sai," Kakashi said.
"But what do we do if the strangers try to kill us?" Kiba asked.
"This is a first-contact situation, which means that we don't kill unless it's necessary," Kakashi said.
"But they already killed our people," Tenten protested.
"They were Root ANBU who disobeyed my orders," Kakashi reasoned.
"What about Asuma sensei?" Shikamaru asked.
"He's badly injured but alive. It means that we still have to follow the rules and not kill the strangers unless we have no other choice," Kakashi explained.
Everyone in the squad wasn't sure about it but nodded and prepared to attack the camp. The crew was able to put out the fire Sai caused but they still had the shinobi to deal with. Everyone grabbed their guns, went to the perimeter, and formed firing lines.
After Kakashi gave the order, the shinobi charged towards the camp.
"Open fire!" Mitchell ordered.
The soldiers fired their weapons as soon as Mitchell gave the order and countless bullets flew towards the attacking shinobi. Some of the shinobi were killed in the rain of bullets but because of their high speed and quick reflexes, it was very difficult, almost impossible to hit them.
"They're too fast! I can't hit them!" Jason yelled.
"Keep firing!" Mitchell ordered.
"Don't give up!" Carter inspired the crew.
But it didn't take long until the shinobi reached the perimeter and started to break through the trucks.
"They're breaking through!" Jason yelled as he managed to kill another shinobi.
"We'll have to run!" Daniel recommended.
"But aren't those savages surrounding us?!" Vala asked as she began to panic.
While the crew tried to hold off the attacking natives, the shinobi prepared to break through the strangers' perimeter with their jutsus but it was a little difficult because of the strangers' constant firing but it wasn't gonna stop them.
While Jason was reloading his P90, he got an idea.
"Daniel's right, we'll have to run," Jason said.
"Are you crazy?! Those barbarians will catch and kill us if we run," Vala protested.
"If we stay here, they'll kill us anyway! Besides, they seem to only attack from the north side of the camp," Jason said.
"What do you have in mind?!" Carter asked while firing.
"Most of the crew leaves while some of us give them cover fire. Then we lure the natives to the center of the camp," Jason explained.
"But what good is it gonna do to us? These guys could still chase us no matter where we go," Mitchell said.
"Yes, unless we set all C4 explosives we have in the center of the camp and blow them up," Jason said telling the rest of his plan.
The team looked at each other and thought about what Jason suggested.
"It has its risks and we'll likely lose most of our vehicles but it could work," Carter said.
"I don't like the sound of that but I guess desperate times require desperate measures," Mitchell said.
"Indeed," Teal'c agreed.
After they agreed to Jason's plan, Mitchell told the crew to retreat from the camp while he, his team, and some members of the crew provided cover fire. While they were shooting, Mitchell turned to Jason and gave him his orders.
"Connor, go to set those explosives. We'll cover you," Mitchell said.
Jason nodded and ran into the camp to set the explosives while his team covered him. While Jason was gathering all the C4 they had, he didn't notice that he was being watched. Sai was currently hiding in the shadows waiting for an opportunity to strike.
SG-1 and the members of the crew who stayed to hold off the shinobi couldn't hold their fortress for long because the shinobi soon broke through with their jutsus. After the natives broke through their line, Mitchell ordered everyone to retreat immediately. SG-1 was able to get into one of the trucks and get away but the crewmembers weren't so lucky because they were captured by the natives. They weren't killed but they were taken as prisoners.
It took a few minutes but Jason was able to set the explosives and all he had to do now was to run before detonating the C4. But when he was about to leave, a native with pale skin and black hair suddenly kicked him on the ground. Jason gasped and held his stomach in pain because the kick hurt like hell.
"Ugh, that-"
Jason couldn't finish when Sai grabbed him by his shirt and put him on his knees.
"Who are you? Why have you come to our world?" Sai asked coldly.
Jason spits on Sai's face which made him kick Jason again which made him fall to the ground.
"Again, who are you, and why have you come here?" Sai asked again while Jason was holding his chest in pain.
"Go to hell," Jason said.
Sai kicked him again making Jason fall on his back. Sai's desire to kill Jason grew but his orders were to distract as much information as he could and then kill the target. Sai took his kunai knife and pointed it at Jason's face and asked other questions.
"What are you looking for? How did you find our world?" Sai asked.
Jason again didn't answer and Sai was getting very frustrated now even though he was trained to be emotionless. He was about to stab Jason with his kunai to make him talk until he was suddenly punched in the face by Ino.
"No!" Ino yelled as she hit Sai so hard that he fell to the ground.
The punch left a nasty mark on Sai's cheek but it didn't stop him from getting up.
"Yamanaka, you are interfering with my interrogation," Sai said coldly.
"You weren't interrogating him! You were torturing him!" Ino accused.
"I'll do whatever is required to complete my mission," Sai said. Although he was still feeling pain from Ino's punch, his Root training helped him to stand the pain.
"Oh, did it include setting the camp on fire and attacking one of the strangers too?!" Ino asked mocking Sai.
While Ino was distracting Sai, Jason took a detonator from his vest and pressed the button which started a timer on the explosives. He had set the timer on five minutes before the detonation which should give him enough time to escape. But he still had to deal with a pale-skinned native who questioned him.
"Ino Yamanaka, I accuse you of treason by preventing me from extracting information from the enemy and sabotaging my mission," Sai accused.
"What?! You can't do that!" Ino yelled.
"Yes, I can," Sai said.
After he said, he charged at Ino who was able to dodge him before he could hit her. Ino tried to use her mind jutsu to knock Sai out but he was too fast for her which resulted in him hitting her on her face and making her fall to the ground.
After he dealt with Ino, Sai turned back to Jason but his eyes widened when he noticed that he was gone. Sai was about to try to locate him with his jutsus until countless bullets pierced his chest. Sai gasped when the blood came out of his mouth and the bullet holes on his chest and stomach started bleeding. With the last strength he had left, Sai turned around and saw Jason holding a smoking P90.
"Take that you asshole," Jason said.
After that, Sai fell to the ground dead. Jason sighed in relief before turning to Ino who just healed the bruise on her cheek with a healing chakra. He carefully approached her and asked if she was alright.
"Hey, you okay?" Jason asked.
Ino looked at him and blushed a little because the man she saw dreams about was finally talking to her. She didn't know what to say at first but answered Jason's question.
"Yes, I'm okay," Ino said shyly.
Jason offered her a hand which she gladly took and helped her up. They looked at each other for a minute Jason suddenly remembered that there were tons of explosives behind them ready to blow and they only had two minutes to get out of the blast radius.
"Look, I know we just met but we need to get out of here," Jason said.
"What? Why?" Ino asked.
But before Jason could answer, he was suddenly grabbed by Shikamaru and Kiba who were followed by the rest of the shinobi who broke through the perimeter. Jason struggled to get free but it was no use.
"Let me go you assholes!" Jason said trying to get free.
"Watch your mouth! I don't wanna bite your tongue off cause we've got a lot of questions," Kiba said.
"No! Let him go!" Ino yelled which made her comrades' eyes widen.
"Ino, are you nuts?! This guy killed Sai!" Choji said.
"Sai tried to kill him! He was only defending himself!" Ino yelled defending Jason's actions.
"He and his friends killed a lot of our guys!" Tenten said.
"Calm down everyone! We must hear her out before making a call," Kakashi said.
Jason looked at the timer and they now had only one minute before the detonation. He knew he couldn't say anything about it to the natives because it would compromise the plan.
But lady luck hasn't turned her back on Jason just yet. The shinobi were suddenly taken by surprise when the armored car (Humvee) with Sg-1 driving it arrived on the scene. After Mitchell stopped the car, Teal'c aimed the machine gun (Browning M2) mounted on top of the car at the shinobi and opened fire. The shinobi dodged again the bullets but it gave Jason a chance to escape.
"Come on!" Carter said while providing the cover fire with Teal'c.
Jason nodded and started running towards the car but he grabbed Ino in the process. The shinobi tried to stop him but Ino told them not to. After Jason along with Ino got into the car, Mitchell began driving them away from the camp but it was too late.
The timer soon ran out of time and the C4 detonated resulting in a huge explosion. Most of the shinobi died instantly in the explosion but some thanks to their chakra managed to get outside the camp but were caught by the blast wave. Jason along with Ino and SG-1 managed to get outside the camo but the blast wave threw the car off of the road and it fell on its side.
After the explosion ended, Sakura along with Kurenai looked at the area where the camp used to be but there was nothing but a smoking crater on it with damaged vehicles. Sakura looked around for Naruto but couldn't find him.
Until some of the smoke cleared but what she saw shocked her. In front of her was Naruto along with some of her friends with bruises all over their bodies.
"Naruto!" Sakura yelled in horror.
