Later that Night

They went as a family to the seafood restaurant in the resort, and then came back to their suite.

They all got into their pajamas and got ready to watch a movie.

Jonathan ordered them some popcorn and drinks from room service and an assorted snack basket.

They turned out the lights and watched the movie and like normal, the twins fell asleep at the end of the movie.

They carried them to bed and then came back to the living room.

"Ok Sadie, we are going to bed. You can stay up if you want, but don't leave the suite and don't be too loud".

"Goodnight Mom, I love you".

"Goodnight sweetheart, I love you".

"Night Daddy".

She leaned up and kissed his cheek.

"Night kiddo."

Jonathan and Jennifer headed to bed and watched a movie in their room, while Sadie watched one in the living room.

"I think we are going to need to put a slide in at our pool for the twins".

"What a great idea".

Jennifer wedged herself behind Jonathan and began to rub his shoulders.

"Oh what a fantastic idea".

"I hope you enjoy it, this might be the only way you and I can get some alone time".

"I'll take alone time with you anyway I can get it".

After she got him nice and relaxed, they switched and he gave her a back rub with a special lotion that she liked.

"Tomorrow, we should get a boat and take the kids out for a bit".

"Yeah, I thought about that. I was also thinking Jet skis".

"Jet skis?"

"Yeah. We can get three. You and Jordyn on one, me and Ryan on another, and Sadie can have her own".

"That sounds fun, but no showing off and doing stunts. Jordyn is going to get mad when I don't do the same tricks".

"Ok, ok".

When her backrub was over, they stretched out under the covers and Jonathan reached up and turned out the light.

"Any chance the kids will sleep till noon tomorrow and let us do the same?"

"Ha! I doubt it".

He wrapped his arms around her.

"Think we can be quiet?"

"Well, we have two options. We can either be quiet….or we can explain to them what we were doing".

"Quiet it is".

They quietly made love for a couple of hours and both thought that being quiet only made it that more passionate.

As they fell asleep in each other's arms, Jonathan murmured against her forehead.

"So I guess we don't have to take an anniversary trip after all".

"Yes, we do".

Middle of the Night

Jennifer and Jonathan were woken up by Jordyn crying next to their bed.

"Hey sweetheart, it's ok. Shhh. Shhh."

Jennifer picked her up and tried to comfort her as she carried her back to bed.

"Did you have a bad dream?"

Jordyn nodded.

"This scary alien guy was trying to kill all of us".

"How about some water?"

She nodded.

They stopped and grabbed a water bottle out of the fridge and then went back to bed.

Jennifer laid her down and then laid down next to her.

"Ok, you're ok. It was just a dream, sweetheart."

Jennifer got her calmed down and back to sleep and then went back to bed with Jonathan.

As she climbed back under the covers, he sleepily wrapped an arm around her.

"Everything ok?"

"Yeah, Jordyn just had a bad dream".

They fell back asleep pretty easily.

Later that Morning

Everyone laid around and had a slow start to their day while they decided what to do.

They finally decided to go sightseeing and got ready for that.

While Jonathan was in the shower, Jennifer and the kids were in the living area.

"It's kind of neat to have Daddy with us for the whole day, and for him to not have to leave to go to meetings".

"I agree. I love it".

Jennifer disappeared into their room.

"The kids and I are in total agreement. We love that you are not focused on the office while we're on this trip".

She leaned up and kissed him.

"Yeah, it's a nice change of pace for me as well."

A Few Days Later

Jonathan and Jennifer and the kids were preparing to head back to Los Angeles.

They took the kids shopping for one last souvenir and picked up some food and snacks to take with them on the plane.

They decided not to do an overnight flight, but rather a mid-day flight so they would get home just before midnight.

Jennifer turned on a movie for the kids and they all just found a seat and got as comfortable as possible.

They had an easy flight, and then took a limo to the house. Jennifer was very thankful there weren't any reporters at their home.

"Ok kids, up to bed."

"Goodnight kids, we love you".

"Love you too".

"Night kids. Pajamas, brush your teeth and into bed you go. I love you".

"Love you too".

Jennifer and Jonathan sorted through the mail and newspapers, and then decided to head to bed.

"Darling, what do you say we get acquainted with some very familiar pillows?"

"Oh, great idea".

"Which one of these suitcases do you want upstairs?"

Jennifer pointed to a specific suitcase.

"That one".

"You got it".

They turned out the lights and headed up to bed, and got settled.

"Darling, are you going to the office tomorrow?"

"I'm not sure. I think I'm going to call Stanley, and get an update on things in the morning and then decide".

"Good idea".

"Are you going anywhere tomorrow?"

"Taking the kids to school, and picking them up later".

"Great. Well, if I'm home, maybe we can have a day-date".

"I'd love that".

She nestled up against him and turned out the light.

Jennifer fell asleep rather easily, but Jonathan had a harder time turning his mind off.

No matter how many times he looked at the situation, he couldn't shake the feeling that something bad was about to happen.

The Next Morning

Jennifer and Jonathan were both up with the kids. Jennifer cooked them breakfast while Jonathan called and spoke with Stanley.

When it was time to leave, Sadie stopped Jennifer.

"Mom, please turn my phone back on today. You promised".

"I promise, I will call the phone company as soon as I drop your siblings off at school. But you better put your phone on vibrate so that it doesn't ring in class and you get in trouble".

"I promise I will".

"Have a good day sweetheart".

Jennifer dropped the twins off at school and then headed back home.

She called the phone company and got Sadie's phone turned back on, and then found Jonathan in the office.

"Hi darling".

"Morning, beautiful".

"Did you talk to Stanley?"

"Yes. He is meeting with Graham Evans this morning at 10, and then he's going to call me back".

"Darling, do you know what this means?"

"What does it mean?"

"It means that we are alone in the house and alone together for the first time in 10 days".

"Oh, well then, let's take advantage of it".

She kissed him as he picked her up and carried her to bed.

They furiously undressed and then climbed into bed.

Jennifer scooted over to the middle of the bed, right next to Jonathan, and he climbed on top of her. She hungrily kissed him and ran her fingers through his hair while he attempted to hold every inch of her in his arms.

He squeezed her breast as he moved his lips to that weak spot on her neck.

"Mmmm".

"You smell good".

"Thank you".

His lips crushed hers as he let his hands roam up and down her body, intensifying the passion between them.

She gripped his shoulders as he easily connected them, and began pulsating back and forth in rhythmic motions along with her.

"Oh…god….."

"Louder, baby".

She let loose and was as loud as she possibly could be, since they had the house to themselves.

They found a mutual peak and release, and laced their fingers together as the wave of ecstasy cascaded through their bodies.

Instead of being exhausted, they were both energized. Rest was the furthest thing from their minds. After about 3 hours, they were finally sated and napped for a bit.

Jonathan finally got his phone call just when Jennifer was leaving to go get the twins.

"Sadie will be home soon. I love you".

"I love you too".

He leaned over and kissed her and then she left.

She was only gone about an hour, and came back with the twins.

Jonathan was still on the phone so she made a snack for the twins and went upstairs to go check on Sadie.

"Hey sweetheart, how was school?"

"Awful. Everyone kept asking me if Dad is dead and not believing me when I said no. I finally said I didn't want to talk about it. And when Mrs. Murphy, my English teacher found out that we were on vacation last week, she refused to give me my makeup work".

"I'm sorry, sweetheart. I will write her a note and explain the situation".

"The way I see it, you and Dad forced us to go on the trip, so you two should be the ones that do my makeup work".

"Nice try. I turned your phone back on. Is it working ok?"

"Yeah, it's working. Can Megan spend the night this weekend?"

"Sure".

"Great. She's going to be so excited".

Jennifer headed downstairs and began making preparations for dinner.

Jonathan came into the kitchen after his phone call.

"Stanley said Graham tripped up like they expected him to, and he was arrested and that the FBI is involved now because he has over 20 victims".

"Wow".

"So, it's back to the office tomorrow, business as usual".

"I'm sure you'll be glad to be back at the office".

"Kind of. I'm more interested in everything that went on while I was away".

Jennifer got dinner going and then helped the twins with their homework.

After everyone had eaten and the twins had gotten showers and were in bed, Jennifer was finally able to relax with Jonathan.

They climbed into bed and started a movie, but neither of them really wanted to watch it.

They chatted about a few things until Jennifer fell asleep on Jonathan's chest.

"Goodnight, I love you".

"Goodnight, I love you too. And by the way, we need to have more day-dates". He kissed her forehead and saw her smile briefly as she drifted off to sleep.

The Next Morning

Jennifer got up when Jonathan's alarm went off and made a big breakfast for the kids.

After a nice family breakfast, they all headed out-Jonathan to the office, Sadie to school, and Jennifer to take the twins to their school.

"Have a good day darling, I love you".

"I love you too. I'll call you later".

Jennifer came back to the house after dropping the twins off and began to organize her office so that she could start on a new article.

Within the span of two hours, twice she thought she saw someone on the property looking in their windows. But each time she got up and looked, there wasn't anyone there.

Jonathan

Jonathan came into the office and everyone was glad to see him.

He sat behind his desk and began to go over things. He was incredibly grateful that Kelly was so organized and had put the paperwork for each deal and merger that had gone through in a file folder on his desk, with a note on top explaining where the deal was progress wise and what the paperwork needed from him, such as a signature or something. It made things so much easier for him to get caught up to speed.

He read through everything and got to the last folder. He was dismayed and disappointed that certain concessions had been made-ones that he would not have agreed with.

He pressed the button for Kelly.

"Kelly, please call Stanley and ask him to come to my office right away, please".

"Yes, Mr. Hart".

Jonathan began to make a list of things that he wanted changed, and who he wanted in charge of those things. When he was finished, he realized that about 25 minutes had passed and Stanley still hadn't come to his office.

The door opened and Kelly walked in.

"Mr. Hart, I buzzed Mr. Friesen, but he didn't answer. So I walked down to his office, and he wasn't there. So, I looked on the out of office calendar and he isn't scheduled to be anywhere but here today. So, I checked with the security guard. His car is in the parking garage, and he signed in with the parking attendant yesterday morning, but they have no record of him leaving the office yesterday afternoon or arriving this morning".

"Well, then he has to be here".

"We've looked all over. We can't find him. I put a call in to the head of security to see if he could pull the camera footage and see when Stanley was last seen and with whom. I apologize if I'm overreacting but this just isn't like him".

"I agree. And you aren't overreacting. You have done everything I would have done. When Mark Bronson gets here, please have him come in and see me".

"Yes, Mr. Hart".

Jonathan thought a moment and then picked up the phone.

As soon as he heard Jennifer's voice, he began to relax a little.

"Hi darling. Can you do me a favor? Can you check the answering machine and see if Stanley Friesen left any messages for me or us?"

"I just checked them about 10 minutes ago. There were 2 messages, one from Marcia for me and one from Susan Kendall about my upcoming appointment. A few hang ups, but nothing that indicated that Stanley had called or anything".

"Damnit. Ok."

"Why, what are you thinking?"

"Well, I wanted to speak to him and we can't find him. We think he's missing".
