Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Hidden Emperor. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Star Wars; Lucas Arts and a few others do.

(2BBY)

Brasam stood before the personal holoprojector of his room. It was far smaller then the bridge one. Not that he minded, discretion was something he coveted.

Part of the reason he kept his own quarters plain and clean. His personal effects were kept where he could reach them.

"You promised me aid in exchange for our deal." Brasam heard as he hummed and took a seat. His desk slightly creaked under his weight. "Do not forget, I could easily inform the Empire of your plans." Brasam heard from one of his contacts.

"Should I remind you that you are wanted by the Empire?" Brasam asked, placing his helmet next to him on the table. "Our deal stands, baron. I'll send you reinforcements… But do NOT threaten me. I do not have the resources to sustain a drawn-out war, nor do I want to." Brasam stated and rubbed a gloved hand to his temples.

He knew for a fact that the wealthy noble had connections he needed… But there was no way he would allow his growing power to be challenged. That wouldn't do to make things easier when it came down to it.

Brasam hummed and leaned back in his seat while rubbing at his temples and sighed.

"And what assurance do I have that you will hold up your end of the bargain?" Brasam heard which caused him to chuckle.

"I could ask the same thing about the credits you offered." Brasam responded before looking at the hologram.

His black hair stood out as opposed to most royal guards who had crew cuts or something along the line. Just another sign he didn't fall into line with the imperial doctrine as he believed.

"I will send a pair of light cruisers and some Stormtroopers." Brasam stated and racked his brain for what to do next. "Do not forget. You also promised me a favor which I named as a Star Destroyer." Brasam said while brushing at his chin.

"And I have your assurance that you will be able to deliver, 'Sovereign?'" Brasam heard from the noble.

"Indeed, 'Lord Gramm'." Brasam said and signed off while he hummed before looking around. "This is going to be interesting when it comes time to handle it." Brasam said before looking at his helmet.

Brasam knew very well he couldn't openly challenge the Empire. Nor Vader or the Emperor. Their force powers dwarfed him and then brushed off his uniform.

There would be hell to pay down the road…. However? Brasam didn't intend to meet force with force. He was a soldier, he understood war. Brasam knew very well that the empire had chinks. It had officers who only looked out for themselves. Brasam planned to take the empire down, melt it apart and rebuild it in his own image.

'First I also need to recruit more men…. Or droids, and last I heard? There was someone who can offer me droids in exchange for another favor.' Brasam thought to himself as he pushed in his chair.

There was both disadvantages and advantages to having droid soldiers instead of humans. He planned to have a very varied army that could enforce his vision… And unlike Sidious's little kingdom? They would protect people. The empire only valued the rich and corrupt. Brasam valued skill and contribution into the Scarlet Sovereignty.

"I believe another talk with Captain Lantre is in order." Brasam stated as he donned his helmet once more. "Even in shadows, there are still moves to make. Infrastructure to build." Brasam muttered before turning and walking to the door to his room.

Brasam closed his eyes behind his armor. He rather preferred his armor. It made it nigh impossible for people to read his facial features and allowed him to study people in secret.

Brasam did still value his men. Stormtroopers had fought valiantly to carry out his will. Those men were to be both commended and given rewards.

"The longer this rebellion sustains itself?" Brasam asked with a raised eyebrow. "The more chance I have to move around without thinking of drawn-out violence… Yes, this is rather interesting." Brasam said and cracked his neck.

He started down the hallway towards the bridge. There were still preparations to make, things to discuss, and strategies to concoct.

However? Brasam only focused on the smaller plans he had set in motion. They would serve as ballast when he leapt towards grander designs.

Brasam reached the turbolift which would ferry him to the bridge. He closed his eyes and pressed the button to summon the life. Lantre would hopefully offer wise counsel on what to do next… Then again? It wasn't like Brasam employed him for stratagem… But there was a very first time for anything and everything that happened.

He stepped into the turbolift and turned his thoughts to the future at the moment.
