AN: Well, I've got another chapter for you all. Hope you enjoy this fic as I'll hopefully finish Halloween, though as I write this I'm tempted to still do some of Canon for a reason I'll explain afterward.

Warning: Short Chapter, Possession, SI/Tom Riddle's Madness comes out slightly, also murder/animal cruelty. Do keep in mind that Riddle is a Psychopath.

Chapter 6: False Alarms

I walk down one of Hogwarts Hallways, I'd taken over once Hermione had decided to take some books back to her dorm before the feast and quickly got to work on a nice distraction from all the boredom I had been suffering due to all the time we'd been studying away in the Library.

I was now departing from the Second Floor towards the Great Hall, the feast shouldn't have started yet and behind me was a flooded corridor with an abandoned bathroom and along the opposite wall... A single sentence, a hanging cat and some cat imprints... I didn't release a Basalisk to fail at killing a cat, I merely used a first year spell to pick her up and bash her into the walls.

All I need to do now is release my possessed puppet and let things play out as I want them to.

'All this to fix the mistake that fragmented failure ignored...' That was the true aim of this little stunt, not to begin some complicated plot to return whilst drawing attention to myself.

This is to temporarily cause a panic among the school that lead to Potter's isolation, Dumbles being removed for a short time and my main entertainment... Hagrid's vacation at Azkaban.

'Fitting for the one I got expelled to once more take the blame.' And this time, without a Horcrux revealing themself as they're about to return? I rather doubt Dumbles will be freeing him easily... Especially once his imprisonment show he's guilty, just as him being expelled did fifty years ago.

I hope he enjoys those Dementors'... He always did like dangerous animals and now he's trapped with one of the worst.

'Focus! I still need to get away.'

The feast is just beginning and I'll be able to arrive before the last students enter.

'Better hurry Dumbles... I might get bored again.'

...Later that Day...

Tom?

Yes, Ginny? Is something the matter?

I was going to keep at it Tom, but there was a murder and we were all sent to our dorms!

A murder!? Where you hurt? How did a murder happen without any warning? :/

I'm fine I was at the feast with others and it was only discovered afterwards, they must have managed to kill Miss Norris while everyone was eating.

Wait! Slow down, Ginny.

Miss Norris was the victim? All this over a cat that everyone hated?

Ah, sorry Tom. Everyone's been talking about it none stop.

Of course not! A murder happens and all they can talk about is bloody pranks and ghosts!

Not a single word to their 'precious baby sister' to see if she's alright hearing the school has a killer!

While I agree with you, I do think that today's events have left you rather worked up.

I used to find sleeping on a subject rather helpful in connecting pieces of information together and your brothers' continued stupidity isn't going to change overnight.

Should I be concerned how over the top they're taking a simple cat being put down?

Well, I was a 'little' creative due to how bored I've been trapped in this book...

Still, seems Ginny didn't notice her memory being edited or feel too drained with todays stress likely helping to explain it.

Seems I no longer need to work on her, why the 'canon' me didn't simple duplicate and twist her other memories to fit the gaps was truly stupid... It's not like he'd an actually deadline beyond his own impatience.

...That Night, Ginny's Mind...

Needless to say that Ginny wasn't at all 'calmer' with her siblings overlooking how she felt.

Her sleeping with it all being so recent allowed me immediate access to those memories, instead of having to find them first. This made me able to give her a nice dream of them all together, before slowly having her fade away... It's not like she never once felt alone with such a large family, all I did was bring them to the surface and create a nice little scene for her.

At first her dream was peaceful, a nice way to lower her guard, before I brought in Harry Potter... Her face lit up at a 'family friend' only to slowly become increasingly annoyed as he took Her seat at the table, Her spot with her brothers when they chose to play Quiditch whilst her mother had her helping her inside able to see them having fun without her.

Then I made it worse, Harry started sleeping over and they moved him into Her room, making her instead have the attic with the 'family ghoul' and from there she was hardly ever noticed. She watched as she was replaced as their 'favourite' by the boy they used to read to her about.

At this point she woke and I continued my work, turning her sadness over being forgotten to anger and resentment... Because they 'obviously' had wanted him instead of her, why else did they always read about Him over all the other books?

I must admit it was here I had to actually put in a little effort to suppress her ability to consider it was 'because she wanted those stories'.

Even if this didn't cause much change straight away, it's yet another seed that will continue breaking her bonds to others... I won't be leaving anything to chance, no sudden change of heart or 'miracle' will have her leave me trapped and vulnerable once again.

'Soon I'll be able to have a nice talk face-to-face.'

...Next Morning...

It wasn't even light when Ginny was woken due to her dream, I wasn't interested enough to truly pay her any mind as I felt her emotional state of mind and how it was slowly buried as she registered it wasn't real... Yet.

Tom are you here?

'No, I'm his identical twin.' Exactly where else could I be? It's not like she knows I'm able to possess anyone.

Tom?

Ginny?

You don't usually write at this time, shouldn't you be preparing for lessons?

I woke up earlier than usual and we have to wait for our Head of House before leaving...

Don't worry Ginny, while we wait why don't you explain what else happened besides a dead rat?

Anyway, You were talking about how the 'cat' died and everyone instantly jumped to murder?

There was a message on the wall. 'The Heir of Slytherin is back!'

Here I immediately react, I do after all want her to only trust me and with her family already having been worn away through their own inaction, her former crush reduced to another 'Ron' in her mind and a potential replacement of her amongst her Family... All that's left is her faith in the 'light' faction and she'll be all mine.

Slytherin's Heir? You're sure it's those exact words?

I caught the last man to claim that 'Title'... Though his Beast escaped into the Forest.

You did!? Who was it? Could they be back or have a child following their example?

I doubt it, it was a Half-Giant called Hagrid.

The last I saw or heard of him was being taken to Azkaban to await trial.

Hagrid? But he's a teacher here!

It could just be a coincidence...

He was always obsessed with Beasts. The more deadly the better, sadly no one cared for my concerns until he started using his 'Slytherins' Heir' Persona to unleash a XXXXX Magical Beast and ended up killing a fellow student before I managed to catch him attempting to smuggle it out.

Hagrid is known for his love of dangerous animals and according to Ron, he managed to hatch a baby dragon in his hut last year.

So, it's quite likely... Or a coincidence and there are apparently two Beast-obsessed half-giants with little regard for others' safety that 'happen' to be around as murders occur.

I just don't see why Dumbledore wouldn't ensure he wasn't a danger, he has been here for years after all.

You're right it's not like he has a Death Eater teaching potions... Or 'missed' how a collegue was possessed last year from what you've told me.

I still don't think Hagrid is responsible, why would he wait until now to act?

Fair enough, I'm just warning you... Don't let him notice you.

Perhaps it's linked to that incident last year? Something happening that caused his persona to return or just him having to wait for a position that allows him the same safety as another who verbally assaults students and believes he's now free to do so with his 'pets'?

Perhaps we can simply wait for the Ministry to act on their reports of the last incident and see if it stops once again.

I'm sure tha...

Whatever she planned to put was stopped as she suddenly slammed me shut and 'hid' me under her other books within her bag... Seems she's about to learn of the teachers decision regarding my work.

'I hope they liked it.' It's not like many would miss how Hagrids strength would allow him to easily kill a cat and with the paint easily fitting the width of his fingers? All that's needed is a future 'tip' to check his umbrella and questions of his illegal 'pet dragon' to have him ruined.

'I hate these moments...' Nothing against Ginny or Hermione, but while possessing them allows me to 'stretch my legs' if I spend any time in public as one of them I'd immediately be seen as acting 'odd' due to obvious differing personalities and mannerisms.

'I need someone easily dismissed or overlooked if I'm to get my own work done.'

With this last thought, I send a single command through my link to Hermione... I do need more people to fulfill my goals after all.

AN: This was both interesting to plan how parts such as the ending would go and yet difficult in deciding how far to take pieces.

As you can see 'Tom' has done a little traumatic scene for the school... It wasn't like he's capable of going too long without some sadistic moments and he's got a few decades to make up for.

Ginny is being tormented as Riddle works on her mental state even more, just because she's loyal doesn't mean he's content with a 'nice' minion.

And a little blaming of the last suspect, wonder what Hagrid did to earn Riddle's ire? If anything.

Extra Information - Just a quick explanation of my reasoning behind the opening part. (to avoid confusion)

I was originally going to completely avoid following the 'plot' of the year, but some parts are useful to me... After all, without the Diary Hagrid will be imprisoned once more and Dumbledore removed temporarily.

Plus if nothing happened from giving a schoolgirl a Dark Artifact it'd likely result in Lucius investigating, so something was needed to make him 'content' to watch and not act himself.

There is some more reasoning that will probably be seen later.

Tom's Influence through Diary

Ginny - Totally under control or is she? He won't stop enforcing his influence on her just because she seems she has submitted... Got to test her first.

Hermione - At least a useful minion... Even if rather limited and often unavailable.

Others - None yet, but soon?
