Naruto woke up early in the morning and went to third training ground. He didn't meet anyone from rookie 11 yesterday. He only met konohamaru and his team and as a big brother to them he gave them several tips. At last he went to Ichiraku ramen. Then he went to his home and slept.
During his morning walk to his old assigned training ground, no one glared at him. Most of them couldn't recognised him due to his sudden change of colour in clothes and his height. He want to train early in the morning. Good habits should continue according to his thoughts. He has a lot of plotting to do and he can only do it with a clear mind.
-Three hours later-
Shikamaru meets with choji and Ino. Now all of them have become a chunin.
"Shikamaru, you are quite busy lately," Ino asked shikamaru. Even chouji looked at him while eating the chips.
"Running errands for the hokage is not easy. I want a vacation for myself," Shikamaru said to them with a yawn.
"We can go for barbeque if you are not busy," Chouji asked Shikamaru. Whenever their team is free they go to eat barbeque.
"Sorry chouji, but today Temari is coming to konoha. So lady hokage appointed me to guide her around the village," Shikamaru said to them. Ino has a mischievous smile on her face.
"Your girlfriend is visiting, then you are really busy today," Ino said to Shikamaru. But Shikamaru ignored her comment.
"I heard Naruto is back on village. And I haven't met him yesterday. Have you met him Ino or you Shikamaru," Chouji asked them. It brought the attention of Ino and Shikamaru.
"When did he came back? Even sakura doesn't know about it. And we are working together in the hospital," Ino asked chouji.
"I knew he was coming this week but the date was not mentioned by the lord jiraya in his letters," Shikamaru said to them. He works in the office most of the time. So he knows a lot of things that both of his teammates doesn't know.
"Have you heard the rumours about naruto? Do you think he is truly the son of fourth hokage?" Ino asked them. She is not sure how the gossip started but it spread like wildfire throughout the konoha.
"You still think it is a gossip or rumours. Have you paid attention to the potrait of Fourth hokage. The first time I laid eyes on it I was sure that Naruto and Fourth are blood related. But I was not sure about their exact relation. They look almost the same without his whiskers mark on his cheeks," Shikamaru said to them. Chouji and Ino gulped after hearing Shikamaru. They know Shikamaru never lies to them.
"But why it is a secret and no one talks about it openly. I saw villagers flinch whenever someone talks about it. They are nervous and guilty about it for some reason," Ino tells them. She doesn't know the exact reason behind it.
"I don't know what will happen in the future. But for now I have to go to the konoha gates to recieve Temari," Shikamaru saud to them. He has a mission to complete.
"Goodluck with the sand flower," Ino said to Shikamaru.
Shikamaru said goodbye to both of them and walks towards the gates. Ino walked towards the hospital and chouji towards a restaurant.
-At the same time-
-Third Training ground-
Naruto finished his training when an anbu appeared infront of him.
"Naruto uzumaki, lady hokage is calling you in the office," He said to Naruto. He has a mask on his face so no one can recognise him.
"Any idea why lady hokage is calling me. It is good if I know something about it before I meet her," Naruto asked him. But he shook his head. As if telling him that he doesn't know.
"I will arrive in five minutes," Naruto said to the leaf anbu. And he disappeared infront of him.
'I need a quick shower and change of clothes before I show up in the office,' Naruto thought in his mind. And he disappeared from that through 'greater teleportation'. He can use shunshin no jutsu but it will take time to reach his apartment.
-Hokage office-
Tsunade is signing the paperwork. At that time Sakura entered inside the office.
"Lady Hokage, I mastered the medical jutsu you told me about," Sakura said to Tsunade. And Tsunade looked at her. She is proud of her to progressing quickly in medical field.
"I will teach you another medical jutsu later today. Have you met Naruto yesterday?" Tsunade asked her. She doesn't know why the Naruto told her to keep the secret about his chunin promotion and village arrival date a secret through Jiraya.
"I doesn't know he is in village. I was fully focused on medical jutsu and konoha hospital," Sakura said to Tsunade. She has no idea that Naruto came back.
"Don't worry I already summoned him in the office. He will arrive shortly," Tsunade said to her. At the same time the door opened of the hokage office. Temari and Shikamaru entered inside the room.
"Lady Hokage Temari safely arrived in the konoha," Shikamaru said to Tsunade. He has a bored look in his face.
" Welcome to konoha Temari," Sakura said to Temari. She looked at both of them and in her eyes they are a nice couple.
"Do you have any difficulty in your journey, Temari?" Tsunade asked Temari. As a courtesy she asked her.
"It was quite pleasant. No obstacles this time," Temari tells Tsunade. She is talking about bandits and rogue ninjas.
At that Naruto enters through the door. All of them looked at him and surprised by his heights and blue coloured teenage boy and of course a chunin vest. His katanas are hanging behind his back. Not even Shikamaru knows about Naruto being a chunin.
"You have summoned me lady Hokage. Is it another solo mission for me?" Naruto said to Tsunade. He looked at others in the office.
"Naruto, you have grown up a lot. I thought you are still a genin," Shikamaru said to naruto. He is quite surprised by sudden arrival of naruto.
"I am the second chunin in our batch after you. I just wanted to keep it a secret for some time," Naruto said to Shikamaru. Both smiled at that thought of becoming a chunin before another people in their class.
"Hello Naruto, welcome back to konoha. I didn't know you became a chunin," Sakura said to Naruto. She is quite surprised to see Naruto to see quite bigger than his younger counterpart.
'This is Naruto uzumaki, he has grown up a lot,' Temari thought in her mind. But kept it inside her thought.
"Naruto you came just in time. Here take your certificate of a special jonin. I wanted to make you a jonin for your tremendous improvement during your solo missions and training with a sanin. You learned a lot but due to some disagreement with councillor of konoha. I can only make you a special jonin," Tsunade said to Naruto and handed not one but six different certificates to Naruto. He collected the certificates as a prize.
"I thought special jonin gets only one or two certificate. Why he has six certificate as a special jonin?" Temari asked Tsunade. She got curious at last.
"You are not suppose to ask about that Temari. Even though I also want to know," Shikamaru asked her. Even though he was surprised by sudden promotion of Naruto. He is not the only person surprised by his sudden promotion. Sakura is also surprised. Not only she come to know that Naruto became chunin before others except Shikamaru but now he is going to be a special jonin.
"If a chunin gets a promotion to a special jonin he or she gets a certificate for that respective field in which they excel. Naruto here excels in various department and by passes many jonin in those field . Fuinjutsu, kenjutsu, Infiltration, Assassination, Ambush and Information gathering are the one he excels. Anko has 4 certificate and Ibiki has three certificate as a special jonin," Tsunade said to them. Temari couldn't believe her ears. If he is unfit to become jonin by this kind of speciality then why she is a jonin.
"I thought I met all the conditions of becoming a jonin. Will I get a new jonin vest or they are the same for chunin and jonin," Naruto asked Tsunade. She looked at him.
"The vest is same for chunin and jonin, Naruto. You can now access to jonin section in shinobi library. And many other privileges which are for jonin only. Special jonin and jonin doesn't have a big difference between them except jonin gets to lead a team of special jonin," Tsunade said to Naruto. She is still happy that Naruto became a special jonin.
"So it was Danzo who stopped my promotion?" Naruto asked her. He can guess due to his recent developments in konoha. Danzo couldn't do anything to stop his progress so he stopped his promotion at the last minute.
"How did you know about Danzo?" Tsunade looked at Naruto with an inquiring look on her face.
"I know many things inside and outside of konoha. It is a small thing. Here I wrote an official letter for the transfer of my parents bank account into my account. I also want everything related to them. No one stop me not even your council members on this matter," Naruto said to her. He handed her an official letter for the transfer of Fourth hokage and Kushina uzumaki whole inheritance and their details from the day of their death.
Tsunade read the letter and she has a sweat rolling on her face. Even Sakura heard the rumours about Naruto being the son of Fourth hokage. She wanted to ask him about it after they leave the office.
"So you know all this time. So I don't have explain it to you. I was thinking, how to tell you about your parents. I will prepare everything for you without the interference of the council this time. Now you can leave my alone withy paperwork," Tsunade said to them. She has a lot of things in her mind.
Temari, Sakura and Shikamaru are about to leave soon afterwards but Naruto has other things going in his mind.
"What is your relationship with my mother? I know you are quite familiar with her," Naruto asked her. Tsunade doesn't have strength to keep it hidden from Naruto.
"Kushina was like a little sister to me which I never had. We are blood relatives through my grandmother mito uzumaki. You can call me your aunt and if by mistake I heard the word 'baa chan' from mouth again. I am gonna smash your brain out. If you want to know more about your mother meet me, when I am free. Now just get lost I have a lot of work to do," Tsunade said to Naruto. All the older generation knows about her relation with Kushina. Nawaki and Tsunade took care of her when she came to her village. Her grandma mito was unable to take care of Kushina due to her old age.
She decided to come back to konoha because she knew Naruto is Kushina's son. She was surprised due to the fact that Kushina left her son in konoha. She never knew he existed till Jiraya came back to tell her. It played a huge role in her becoming a hokage.
Naruto left with Shikamaru, Temari and Sakura. Many things were going on their mind.
-Outside the Hokage tower-
Shikamaru started to lead Temari towards the market of leaf village. Sakura and Naruto are with them.
"Naruto, Are you truly the son of fourth hokage?" Sakura asked Naruto about his father. Even Temari is paying attention to their conversation. Shikamaru doesn't even want to comment in this matter. He was the first one to solve this case on his own. But it is not his place to answer everyone.
"I thought everyone knows about my father Minato Namikaze being the fourth hokage in the village. No one talks about my mother Kushina uzumaki. That is why I have the surname of my mother rather than my father," Naruto said to them. Even the people who are passing by heard him clearly. They didn't even comment and passed like nothing happened. But his words are ringing in their mind. Another rumor is going spread soon about being the rumor of him being the son of hokage is true.
"Yo Naruto, I heard you become special jonin few hours ago. Gai and I decided to throw a party for rookie 11 in this occassion for you," Kakashi said to Naruto. He still has the icha icha book near his face.
"You are also invited Temari," Gai appeared behind kakashi and said to Temari.
"Thanks Kakashi sensei and Gai sensei. It was quite a surprise for me. I was expecting to become a jonin in few months. But becoming a special jonin is not bad. I am the first one to become a special jonin in my batch," Naruto said to them. He was quite happy with the progress.
"You don't know how much drama you caused in the council today. Lady Hokage was quite adamant about you becoming a jonin. But one of the advisor counter her argument. So it become a draw. But then she appointed you as a special jonin as a specialist in six different field. The advisor again wanted to deny it but then she presented your mission details for the last 60 solo missions," Kakashi said to Naruto. He was present in the council meeting as a Naruto's jonin sensei with other jonin leader to give their approval or disapproval in this matter.
Due to the Danzo interference they couldn't say anything about Naruto becoming a jonin. His past records were not good. It was a mixed reaction by many people. When it become a draw from both sides. Tsunade send an anbu to bring the last 60 C rank mission of Naruto which he completed successfully. In this missions Naruto hunted many A class rogue ninja without knowing about them. He infiltrated many illegal business in fire country. He ambushed a large number of bandits before they can reach their hideout. Fuinjutsu and kenjutsu mastery level is approved by Jiraya in his reports. Other four department are shown in his solo mission chart which others couldn't deny it.
"I saw your mission reports. While I don't approve of assassination. But you did quite a number on bandits who are hidden from the eye of Damiyo. And you also hunted many A rank rogue ninja without knowing. Which also played a huge role in your promotion. You also broke Anko's record as a special jonin," Gai said to Naruto. He has a huge smile on his face. Because his arch rival's student is quite close to neji. He has no doubt that Naruto can become a jonin by the next year. Neji has a one year early startup from Naruto. But the golden haired boy is very close to neji despite the age difference.
"By mistake I hunt down A rank ninja. So I am getting their bounty in my bank account. How come it was a C rank mission in the first place. I thought their is a information gap whenever I saw big number of bandits or rogue ninja with them. So I send their bodies," Naruto said to them as if thinking something.
"They have decided to properly evaluate the mission rank in which you went in the last two years. The bounty is already send in your account. Now what are waiting for we have a party to attend," Kakashi said to Naruto. He is still reading his icha icha book.
"I am also getting little hungry by hearing all the stuff," Temari said to them. She wants to eat something.
"Let's go Naruto. We shouldn't make others wait for us," Sakura said to Naruto. Shikamaru wants to our down somewhere to watch the clouds but he is quite busy today.
Naruto, Sakura , Temari and Shikamaru walked with Kakashi and Gai towards a barbeque shop. Others are waiting for them. Neji, tenten , Lee, kiba, shino, hinata, chouji, Ino, Asuma and kurenai is waiting for them.
The jonin sensei of their team paid for the party. It is not everyday you get celebrate the promotion. As nobody among them knew about the promotion of naruto as a chunin before. And now they got the news that he became a special jonin so they decided to surprise him through a party. Last time when every student became a chunin together in the last year they had a party.
-Sand village-
Unknown to others two figure come closer to the sand village. One of them is sasori and other is Deidara. They have a plan to attack the sand village tonight.
