CHAPTER 5 - Headache

Headache - a continuous pain in the head. Or a thing or person that causes worry or trouble; a problem.

Bella was getting tired of all the information she was getting. Everything she thought was a fairy tale or fantasy or a myth is true. That was overwhelming. And now there is a school for all those creatures, and she may be one of them. Bella quietly rubbed on her temples and almost banged into a door.

"Careful!" Alice said, rubbing her shoulder.

"What is this now?" Bella asked Alice.

"This is the cafeteria. We have everything you could…" she replied.

"Let me guess, ever want? This must also be run by a witch?" Bella snapped at Alice.

Alice looked at her in surprise. Bella sighed and apologized, "Sorry, I am just tired."

"It's alright I understand," she said. "Come on, just one more stop and then we could go to the dorms and sleep."

Bella tiredly nodded and went after Alice and sat on an empty seat. Alice tapped on Bella's shoulder and said, "Wait here I'll get you some pizza and soda. Your favorite right?"

Bella nodded and kept rubbing at her temple. The cafeteria doors opened, and she turned around to see who entered. It was the guy she saw at the field this morning. He changed into his uniform and was walking towards an empty table. She kept staring at him and jerked as Alice banged on a table.

She turned to look at her and so did Edward Cullen. He narrowed his eyes at her and Alice and sat down on a table.

"Who is that guy again? And why does that guy hate me or something."

"Oh Edward Cullen, that's the guy you blasted away in the field. He's someone special, and powerful."

"How powerful?"

"Like one of a kind. But I don't think he hates you. I think he can't read you."

"Read me?"

"Oh, Edward can read minds, like every memory, every emotion, if you thought it, he knows." Bella gasped. "Don't worry, rumor has it you are the first one to ever stop him."

"Me?"

"Yup! Plus, he can shut off minds like snapping your fingers. Like completely wipe your memory, your thoughts. You would be a vegetable, frozen, unable to speak or even think. Immensely powerful."

"Woah." Bella watched that same couple, the blonde beauty, and a brown-haired guy walk in. The blonde, red-eyed beauty glaring at Alice again. "Does that happen a lot?"

"Oh, I don't mind it. Rosalie has every right to hate me." Rosalie can only be described as one of the "most beautiful person in the world". Most vampires are astoundingly gorgeous, but Rosalie is even more due to her natural beauty as a human. She is 5'9" tall and statuesque, with an elegant figure similar to a model. She has long wavy blond hair that falls halfway down to the middle of her back that perfectly suits red eyes that she shares with the rest of the vampire clan. Rosalie enjoys wearing beautiful and elegant dresses because of her vampire figure along with expensive and elaborate jewelry that reflects her high standing.

"Nobody should glare at anybody like that," Bella said to Alice and she looked at Bella weirdly. "You said Edward Cullen, like Cullen Falls Boarding School, does that mean Edward's family owns this place?" Bella asked to deflect her.

"Well, sort of. The Cullens did found this school in America. You met Esme, she's a Cullen. Her family is one of the oldest families in the world, besides the Volturi and African Coven."

Bella looked at her blankly and then clutched her head.

"Aah," she groaned, and Alice looked at her in concern.

"Are you okay, what is going on?" she asked, concerned.

"I don't know, my head hurts, it's like someone is trying to rip it out!" Bella groaned once more, and electricity started to cackle around her.

Everyone around her was starting to look at her. Alice on the other hand figured out and shouted, "Edward stop this right now!"

The electricity started to crackle even more, and everyone had goosebumps on their skins. Students started to leave the cafeteria. A thunderbolt boomed through the sky as Bella grew more distressed.

"Edward stop before she brings lightning to us!" Alice shouted one more time.

Edward could not understand why that little human girl got inside his head and she didn't even talk to him. He noticed her the second he walked into the cafeteria. She got rid of the rags she had on and wore the school uniform. The 'C' was prominently visible in her jacket. She was rubbing her temples and stopped to stare at him when he walked to a table. He slightly smirked knowing he influenced her. It didn't stay long when he found he still couldn't read her mind.

Don't do anything stupid Edward, Alice's thoughts came to his mind, as she banged the plate on the table to get Bella's attention. He narrowed his eyes on her and sat down on a chair, waiting for his brother and his girlfriend to show up. He played with his pen when Rosalie and Emmet walked in. Rosalie glared at Alice and Emmet tried to control her, leading her away and to the food line. Edward knew something happened between the three of them last year. He was away visiting family in Europe. But to him whatever happened was completely vain and pointless. Emmett and Rosalie break up every other month and if Emmett kissed Alice to make Rosalie jealous, well lo and behold it worked. Rosalie took him back like she always does.

Edward turned his attention back to Bella and tried to read her one more time. She dropped her cutlery and clutched her head. He was met with resistance once again, but he kept pushing through. He tightly gripped the pen as he concentrated to get inside her mind. The air crackled with electricity and goosebumps came on everyone's skin. His pen broke as thunder boomed through the cafeteria. He distinctly heard Alice shout something, but he was too focused to hear anything from Bella. Tiny sparks could be seen around her as she continued to clutch her head.

Edward! Stop before she brings lightning here and kills all of us! Alice shouted in her head and through her voice, breaking his concentration.

He gasped as he came back and took note of his surroundings. His hand was covered in blue ink and he grimaced. He looked around and saw everyone no longer paying attention to Bella except him. Alice rushed over as Bella gasped and then slumped down in her seat at the table. Alice glared at Edward and then tended after Bella.

"I told you," Alice hissed. "Don't do anything stupid." Edward looked away and scoffed.

"She is human," he said. "She should not be able to block me… I,"

"Almost got everyone killed because you wanted to test the new girl yet again and failed," Alice snapped. "She is not human; humans can't wield electricity like that."

He looked down and cocked his jaw.

"A bad attitude is not going to help anyone, Edward," she said softly. "Help her to the Twilight Tower, please."

Edward took a deep breath and put his hands under Bella's knees and lifted her up. Her head slumped back at the motion. Her main vein was visible to Edward. It would be so simple to take her to the Tower and drain her. Edward? If you can't help her, stay away from her, Alice warned Edward as she shouted into his head. The next time you push her it won't be pretty. Edward stiffly nodded and took Bella to the Twilight Tower.

Bella was dressed in her brand-new uniform. Her white jacket with black trim over her black tennis skirt with white piping and black flats. She carried her orange backpack filled with books along with a few books she carried. Bella walked into her first class.

"Oh yes, welcome Isabella Swan."

"Just Bella," Bella said quietly.

"Oh, well, there is just one seat on the right, please take this syllabus and I'll try to catch you up as we go along." Bella looked to find only one seat open and it was next to Edward Cullen. Bella slowly walked to the table and sat down after she stumbled a bit. She lifted a notebook and pencil from her backpack. Bella looked over at Edward. He was glaring at her. Black eyes. Bella shivered.

As the lesson started, Bella could see Edward staring at her from the corner of her eye. She bit her bottom lip. Bella lifted the page of her notebook to turn over when the paper sliced her finger. Bella hissed. A small cut formed, and a drop of blood appeared. Edward growled at Bella.

"Edward no!" Alice screamed. Bella gasped. Edward grabbed Bella before the blood dropped from her finger and quickly bit into her neck. Bella tried to fight Edward off as he drank her blood as if she was the only drink that mattered. Bella was fighting his grasp as he drained her, lifting her from the chair.

"Please...stop...don't...please…" Edward was a monster and Bella was about to die.

Bella jerked awake. She let out a scream sitting up, cracking all the windows around her. Alice was at her side covering her mouth.

"Bella, Bella… it's ok...it's ok! It was just a dream!" Bella pulled from Alice, falling out of the bed.

"He killed me! Edward is going to kill me!"

"Bella you have to calm down! Your magic is…" Alice started but Bella screamed, and a shield came in front of her.

"Bella you have to calm down, Edward will not hurt you! It was just a dream!" Alice screamed at her again.
