To the folks saying that this is going on fast, I completely agree. A concept such as this needs a slow burn and my initial idea was to start the fic off with an amnesic Minato who would slowly turn towards Rachel. Also, I was looking to put Lindow or Soma as the protagonist, especially Lindow cause Amamiya and I think new fatherhood would tell one hell of a story.
But, we are short on time and I am looking to finish this quickly. Again, this is merely an injection of SMT into GE to see how this would end up.
And I warn you, given how gory the anime was, this will get downright tokyo ghoul so here's a fair warning.
More importantly, the awesome cover is made by the one and only Rwes_RW. Check out her twitter, she's a magician with art. Now that she made this, I WILL finish this, I must!
With that out of the way, enjoy... I hope...
"Will you be alright?" Rachel asked, although she fully expected him to ignore her and he did, not sparing her a glance or her a question any thought as he sipped on his drink, casually strolling around the lobby of the now independent Friar.
"The First Unit is legendary across the whole of Fenrir," Rachel continued, slightly worried about his chances against the likes of Lindow, Aki and especially Yuu Kannagi. True, he had demonstrated some ungodly powers such as weather manipulation and a vicious bias field but taking on a team of the best God Eaters was another matter. "Perhaps calling some aragamis will aid?"
Minato scoffed, finally acknowledging her existence when he was done with his drink. "As if I will need any help disposing of those mongrels," he helped himself to another serving of First Love Juice and looked back at his minion. "Say that again and I will break your neck and feed your corpse to the aragamis outside."
Rachel was rendered silent after that but she still had her doubts. Outwardly, Minato was nothing special in terms of build and stature but after a few more seconds of doubting, she cursed herself for her lack of conviction in her God.
Minato was unbeatable, as certain as death of all living things and the continuous flow of time.
…
"Remember, our orders are to take Dr. Rachel or Dr. Leah back, alive," Lindow reminded his fellow God Eaters during the ride towards Friar.
"How do we know they are behind this?" Kota asked.
"Those two are the only ones capable of hacking the system of Friar," Sakuya added. "And according to the reports, the Director is presumed dead."
"What about the security?" Alisa asked, having to shout over the noise of the chopper. "Friar is one of the most heavily guarded locations throughout Fenrir. What happened to the guards?"
"Guess, we'll find out," Lindow said, discarding the cigarette and snuffing most of it to ash under his boot. "Any piece of advice, leader?"
"Don't die," Yuu yelled from the cockpit.
"I hear ya," Lindow whispered back. The mission sounded simple, taking the two sisters into custody, alive and while there was a dense layer of beasts guarding Friar, with Yuu and his sidekick around, breaching the aragamis was not going to be an issue. Despite that, Lindow was cautious and for some reason could not shake off the foreboding inkling in the pit of his stomach.
"You heard the man, do not die!"
….
The pilot of the chopper nearly drove the damn thing to the ground when he got a view of the scene, spotting an obscene number of aragamis around the mobile base with some of the more destructive ones guarding Friar without any sort of infighting. Normally, a Vajra would maul a nearby Ogretail and all hell would break loose but nothing of the sort happened, almost as if the monsters themselves were terrified of something even worse.
"Old man wasn't kidding," Lindow said, discarding the pack of cigarettes and wiping the sweat building around his brows. "Geez…"
"It's like an infestation," Sakuya said, looking over the shoulder of her partner and wincing slightly at the number. She had packed extra bullets but this was just unfair.
"I can't keep the chopper like this forever," the pilot said from the cockpit, obviously shaken up and wanting to get away as fast as possible incase a Sariel or Zygote would devour the chopper and him alongside. "You guys should take off."
"Well, gee, thanks," Aki rolled her eyes at the cowardice and faced her leader, gesturing to him to issue orders. Yuu took a look around the area and began.
"Here's the plan," Yuu said. "Aki and I will carve out a path for the rest of you. Do not look back, just break into the base, knock the doors down if you have to and take the sisters into custody, that's it."
"We're doing this without you?" Kota gasped. "Yuu, dude, we might be fighting another singularity in there and without you or Aki-"
"Be grateful," Alisa spoke up with a hint of annoyance. "He is already doing us a huge favor by making a path towards the base."
"You'll be fine, yeah?" Yuu said, glancing at each of them one by one. "If it is too much, I can send Aki in there with you."
"We'll be fine," Soma interjected, after a small glare towards Kota and the boy understood, giving up on his arguments and nodding at his leader. "More importantly, the reports said that Dr. Rachel has a man-made aragami under her control. What should we do if she does not want to come peacefully?"
"Kill Rachel if you must," Yuu said without hesitation.
"Are you serious? What will we say to the brass?"
"You let me worry about that," Yuu said. "I will take responsibility."
"Any particular reason, Yuu?" Aki said, slightly surprised herself. Rachel was not really normal, with her fake facade which was painfully obvious but killing was going a bit too far, especially when the direct order was to capture her alive.
Yuu grabbed his weapon and stood near the door of the chopper, foot dangling on the edge as he overlooked the infestation of Gods and demons screeching and howling under them. They were outnumbered but he was not too concerned because as a team, him and Aki were unbeatable.
"Dr. Rachel was administered a dose of the bias factor when she was young," Yuu recalled the report and his team members stood in silence. That bit of information was never made public but after hacking into the system, Rachel was now branded a fugitive and according to the theory of Paylor Sakakai-
"Highly likely, the singularity you will be fighting will be Rachel herself," Yuu concluded and looked back at them, catching hints of shock but nothing too major.
"Understood," Sakuya said. "Leave Rachel to us and be careful down there."
Yuu gave his team a thumbs up as a good luck gesture and launched himself off the edge, making Lindow rush past his team mates to see him action, something he would never miss. "There he goes!"
Yuu sliced through the first aragami, a Fallen Sariel with little effort and switched his weapon to gun mode, unleashing a slew of bullets to blast the ariel aragamis to pieces until he landed on the ground, immediately becoming the target of the numerous beasts nearby. He shook off the roars coming his way and raised his blade, giving the signal-
"You're up!"
"Well, kick ass, guys," Aki gave her team a smile and jumped off after her leader. "And stay alive!"
Aki landed next to the brunette and raised hell, quickly disposing of the aragamis nearby and carving open a path towards Friar in a few minutes as the rest of the team looked on with awe.
"They really are unbeatable," Lindow said with a chuckle, hauling his weapon onto his shoulder. "Alright, the path is open, let's move."
Yuu gestured at the pilot to hover above in case of any emergencies and focused back on his mission, hacking and slashing the damn things to keep the path open. He caught the rest of his team touching the ground and slammed a flash grenade for a blinding surge of light-
"Move now!"
As his team brushed past him, Yuu felt something taking over him. He almost ran with them towards the base, fearful that this would be the last time he would see them. A yell from Aki snapped him out of the trance and he stood his ground, battling back the creatures coming his way and the fear taking over his heart.
"They'll be fine," Yuu said, trying to convince himself. He had a long battle ahead of him as the aragamis were still coming from him. "Stay alive, guys…"
Eventually, after breaking the door down, the first unit entered the mobile base and Yuu breathed out a sigh of relief. All he needed to do now was survive until they would return or-
"Just kill them all," Yuu shrugged. "Hey Aki, gimme a bullet."
….
Friar was much the same as the last time, as the team remembered, aside from the awful stench of corpses rotting for god knows how many days. Alisa found the odor putrid, covering her nose as they approached the main door leading into the lobby. The power was still on but the lights were out for some reason and she swore that she heard some groaning coming from under her feet-
Soma tried to push the door open but much like the first one, the damn thing was locked shut.
"This one is locked too?" Kota asked. "Just what is Dr. Rachel doing in there?"
"Nothing good for sure," Lindow replied. "Soma, break the door now. We have no time to waste here."
Soma took a few steps backwards and knocked the door clean off the hinges with a single kick, opening the lobby for his team. He took a deep breath and stepped inside, looking around for either doctor and to his surprise, Rachel was already there, not even trying to hide as she was stationed near the mission counter. Her smile was more disgusting than ever before and Soma could feel the disgusting building in his throat.
"Why, what a surprise," Rachel greeted with a sneer, quite relaxed even when the team aimed the weapons in her direction. "The first unit being sent in for the slaughter. I presumed they would send another group of weaklings."
"Dr. Rachel, you are hereby arrested for hacking into Friar," Sakuya said. "We suggest you come with us, or else we have orders to kill if you resist."
Rachel giggled softly, brushing off her warning much to the ire of the God Eaters. "Kill? I highly doubt that, Sakuya-san."
"What happened to you, really?" Lindow asked with a tilt of his head. "You never had the spine to talk like that to anyone."
The comment ruffled her but Rachel managed a sweet and sickening smile, spreading out her arms and declaring loudly-
"My God has arrived to raze this unholy world!"
"She's absolutely nuts," Kota said, shaking his head as Rachel literally went on to prostrate on her seat, whispering something about her god and the end of the world.
"I'm getting sick of this," Soma said. "Let's take her into custody and be done with it."
He walked off towards her without waiting for a response but with the first step he took, someone else finally spoke from the shadows. Rachel immediately silenced her praises and lowered her head in complete obedience.
"Not so fast…"
Soma almost jumped way back, behind his team when the voice set off his aragami cells, his own stomach twisting and turning in fear and disgust as the voice lingered on inside his head and refused to leave. "W-Who?"
Minato emerged from the shadows, not flinching when he came into the crossfire of the massive weapons wielded by the best team of God Eaters. He gave a small glance at the first unit from above and then slowly made his way down the steps, taking his time and not sparing them a second glance.
Soma found himself walking backwards when the blunet came closer to him, his grip on the handle of the blade unsteady and his face sweaty, almost aghast with fear.
"Soma?" Lindow called out to him and got no response, making him wonder if he saw a ghost walking alongside the short midget making his way down the stairs.
Minato finally came down the steps and raised his head, sparking a storm of uncertainty and fear as something vile surged inside of his cold gray eyes. The presence of him was enough to burn the oxygen in the air for the team as there was something very dark and evil about the boy.
"Who are you?" Alisa asked cautiously, deploying her shield just in case the guy went berserk. Just a look at his face was enough for her to know that he was disgusted at the sight of the,, and he was looking down at them as if they were pieces of shit.
"The harbinger of your demise," Minato responded, speaking low and cold, triggering goosebumps and shivers on the bodies of the God Eaters.
"That is my God," Rachel almost yelled from above and while he looked like an ordinary kid, there was something godlike about him indeed. That much was clear by a glance at him.
"Wait," Sakuya took a closer look at his features and recalled what Yuu had told her several weeks ago. Blue hair and silver eyes matched the description and her mind clicked. "You're the boy that Yuu told me about!"
"Indeed I am," Minato said. "And I finally get to meet the rest of the legendary first unit."
"What are you?" Alisa asked.
"And you all disgust me," Minato spat, giving Soma a small glance. The hooded boy audibly gasped but raised his blade up for defense, much to the sick delight of the blunet.
"Raising a blade against me?" Minato said, now looking in his direction. "To think that worthless girl would soften your aragami side."
"Worthless girl?" Kota repeated. "A-Are you talking about Shio!?"
"Oh, yes, you gave that thing a name," Minato spat out the words with a bad taste in his mouth and upon that, the God Eaters got into position, loading up on their weapons and almost ready to attack the boy for insulting their friend, someone who had saved the world from the apocalypse.
"Watch your mouth," Alisa said with gritted teeth. "She saved the world."
"Or what?" Minato edged them on further. Rachel was slightly nervous, wary of their ability and the fact that they looked ready to murder but after one look at Minato who did not seem intimidated in the least, she calmed down and giggled again, very excited to finally see a demonstration of his power.
"Saved the world," Minato mocked the white haired girl with a scowl, tapping his foot on the ground and just waiting for them, for any one of them to make the stupid decision of attacking him. "Her only role to play was to trigger the apocalypse and she failed. She was a worthless bitch at the end of the day."
Kota swore at him but did not move, opting to curse the blue haired bastard . Meanwhile, Lindow took a look around, noting the fear on the faces of his friends, especially Soma who was red from the anger by the insults to Shio but still rooted to the spot, his blade now lowered. After a few more seconds of thought, he shrugged and decided to go ahead, as someone had to start after all-
"Lindow!"
Sakuya cried as he rushed past her. She tried to grab him by the collar and pull him back but he bolted at full speed, quite obviously annoyed by the insults to the girl who had saved his life. Minato did not react to the veteran god eater coming for him, with the intention to rip his head off-
"About time…"
Lindow swung his blade from a distance, aiming for the neck but Minato circled out of the range of his long sword, escaping harm and shaking his head at him. Amamiya cursed at him, noting that he was fast but nothing too special as he jumped right into his range and Lindow uncorked a kick, which he slammed against his gut at full force-
The dull thud rang out in the lobby and Lindow took the opportunity, bringing his God Arc down at full force and slicing the shoulder of the blunet who was knocked down to his knees due to the impact of the blade hitting his body-
Crack-
"H-Huh?"
Lindow heard a snarl from his blade after the loud crack and bits and pieces of his arc began to fall off, with the alive weapon itself dying with low hisses and snarls. He had no idea what was happening but he saw a surge of silver from below and followed the flicker-
Minato was down on his knees but he was not hurt in the least, instead, he was looking up at him with a mixture of disgust and excitement, still shaking his head at the futile attempt to harm him. The God Arc itself was shattered, broken upon contact with his abnormal body and the boy had not suffered even a scratch where he was struck by one of the strongest God slayers.
"Is that all?" Minato questioned. The God Arc was now wailing, almost in fear as the oracle cells began to shut down upon command, just by coming into contact with the blue haired boy-
"Get out of there, Lindow!" Sakuya yelled at him but Lindow was a little too surprised to listen to her and react. He was holding onto the handle of his blade and recalled a lecture about how arcs were indestructible but his weapon broke first and the boy was completely alright-
"My turn…"
Minato's whisper snapped him out of the surprise and even with his full weight on what remained of his weapon, the blue haired boy began to stand up, not even taking a fighting stance as he simply reached out to touch his infected arm-
"GET. OUT!"
Minato merely flicked at the grotesque arm with his two fingers, activating the dormant clusters of oracle cells and triggering an ungodly surge of pain in which Lindow lost his senses entirely. He tried to move his feet but his brain could not process the reflex as his arm began to swell rapidly, with the oracle cells festering and mutating over and over again until the entire limb exploded into blood, tissue and skin-
Lindow's deafening scream made Sakuya cry out as her husband collapsed back, with his arm blown off entirely, just by a simple touch as the boy did not even throw a heavy punch.
Just a flick-
Soma, who was looking to avoid combat, got his senses back when his superior screamed in pain and the rest of his friends cried out for him. He was afraid, terrified of even looking at Minato as he feared the oracle cells in his eyes would blind him but upon the heartbreaking wail from Sakuya, he fought back against his own heart and soul and rushed, as soon as the three fired at Minato-
Minato shrugged off the bullets and titled his head, inviting Soma to try his luck and the blonde haired teenager did, making sure he had kicked Lindow to safety when he got close to Minato, swinging a number of wild arcs to slice the boy open but much like before, each hit did absolutely nothing and Minato merely walked forward as Soma swung as hard as he could, with his blade starting to shatter with every impact-
Soma saw his cursed life flashing before his eyes as Minato reached out to grab him by the throat and his own soul screeched at him to get away and he almost did, until the sharp stare from the godlike entity rendered him paralyzed and open to the grip, the aragami cells already starting to melt inside his body-
Lindow kicked Soma to the side in a hurry, terrified that his long time comrade would explode to pieces much like his arm did. He immediately collapsed due to the unbearable pain and blood loss but he did manage to yell out an order, or more like a cry for help-
"Yuu!"
Minato watched on as Lindow collapsed next to his feet but that did not stop the rest of his moronic friends as they all came rushing at him, weapons loaded and supplies at hand for a long battle. All he could do was laugh as the bullets came for him, razing everything around him, everything but him as he stood there, arms wide open as a taunt for them to come forward-
SHE had blessed him and in turn, he would curse them.
….
"We've lost contact with the team!"
Tsukiba's yell confirmed his worst fears and Yuu almost got pounced on by a Vajra until he countered at the last second and sliced the head off the beast. He was relatively fresh despite taking down hordes of aragami but the fatigue and stress began to settle in now.
"A-All of them?" Yuu blurted out, shaking in his boots.
"C-Can you take a look…?" his commander said after a short silence, her voice down to a small whisper as she held back the grief and the urge to break down.
"..."
"Please, Yuu…" Tsubaki pleaded for the first time during a mission, fearing that she was going to lose her brother once more and this time, with no hope of returning.
Yuu took a look around at the battlefield and the numerous aragamis running at him, from tiny Zygotes to the massive Hannibals, all howling at him and Aki who was shaken up as much as he was.
"Damn this all…"
….
Rachel could not recall the last time she was this giddy. Maybe when she first came across Minato but nothing, not even the death of her father had her grinning so wide. What she had witnessed almost had her kissing the ground on which Minato walked on.
When Lindow caught him with the kick at first, she was terrified and almost called upon her toy to aid Minato but from that point on, Minato left no doubt in her mind that he was very well the harbinger of doom for humanity as he had far exceeded and shattered her already lofty expectations of him.
Down below, Sakuya was the last one to fall after a slap which knocked her down and Minato stomped on her old type weapon, shattering the man-made aragami to bits much like he had to the rest, rendering the first unit weaponless and very close to death. They never stood a chance, for no matter how much they hacked and shot him, his body was invulnerable, not even suffering a single scratch despite being shot in the face at point blank range several times in a row, as Alisa had foolishly tried.
"Stupid," Minato hissed, wiping the blood on his hands on his jacket and kicking the female into the wall. Nobody made the effort to help her as they laid crippled, barely unconscious after the horrific beating Minato had administered without mercy and now, he was free to pick and choose his first victim-
Kota felt a grip on his ankle and he made no effort to resist when he was flung into the wall at full force, hacking out blood upon impact-
"W-Wait,"
Alisa almost pleaded when she caught Minato stalking towards Kota, with the boy motionless and defenseless. Minato scoffed at her request and carried on walking, rolling his right shoulder as he closed the distance and loomed over the beaten God eater, raising his foot to stomp the life out of him-
Kota wailed the first time Minato stomped on his face but a kick to his throat silenced him quickly and Minato began to beat him against the wall, crushing his skull each time he slammed his boot to his face without pause, opening a gushing torrent of blood which began to pool around the boy flailing and scampering to get away-
"P-Please," Alisa pleaded, sobbing as Minato beat Kota to near death right before her eyes, taking away his senses one by one as each stomp to the head made his brain smash against the skull but Minato showed no mercy, stomping on the back of his of his neck to finally elicit a piercing cry for help.
The distorted cry for Yuu annoyed the dark messiah and Minato kicked his head into the wall, kicking the side of his face moments later to render him unconscious as the force snapped his neck. Just one more stomp and the boy was dead but before he could deal the killing blow, he looked back at the defeated God Eaters and gestured at Kota, promising that the same, gruesome fate awaited each of them.
"Don't do it!" Soma was the one to yell this much, to his slight surprise. Sakuya and Lindow actually began to crawl to stop him. Minato scoffed again, grabbing the pathetic waste of life by his collar and hurling him in the direction of his friends so they could take a closer look at him-
"K-Kota…" Alisa whimpered. Kota was unrecognizable as his face was beaten black and blue and broken, with his skull stretched out against the skin after the barrage of stomps that cause spinal fluid to leak out from his eyes and ears alongside the blood. "Y-You can't do this…"
Alisa begged at the force of nature walking towards Kota for the final nail in the coffin and despite her and Sakuya begging him to spare Kota, Minato kept stalking forward, relishing the despair on their faces as they deserved the suffering and then some.
"Stupid brats masquerading as saviors of humanity," Minato spat out during his walk, hands in his pockets as he walked up to Kota, not sparing the pleading a thought as he pressed his boot against the already broken skull of the boy-
'No, don't do it!" Soma's voice cracked and he pleaded at him to stop but Minato placed the weight on his leg and stomped on his head for the final time, crushing the same under his boot and brutally killing the member of the first unit as after a final jerk, the body was rendered lifeless and the floor was painted with crimson and drenched with grey matter and brain tissue as the organ exploded outwards after the final crushing stomp to the head.
"..."
"..."
"..."
"Disgusting," Minato barfed at the mess. "Filthy waste of excrement and blood. Good riddance."
Nobody spoke or cursed at him for a long while, as the world and reality began to glitch and erode before their eyes, blurring everything but the now mutilated corpse next to the bloodied feet of the devil who had brutally murdered Kota without a shred of mercy or a second thought.
"K-Kota…"
Alisa was first to whisper in utmost horror and denial as Minato began to wipe the disgusting fluids on the clothes of the corpse, hissing in disgust while doing so. The reality finally sunk in for the other God Eaters and Minato scowled at the collective wail at the death of the worthless boy and the yelling and sobbing that followed.
Even Lindow was rendered completely speechless and pale as a ghost and for the first time in a long while, he experienced true fear as the blunet who took the life of Kota before his eyes by crushing his head to pieces, set his sights at him as soon as he was done wiping his boot clean on the corpse of his comrade. There was not a damn thing he could do to stop him and he did not even bother telling the others to run as there was no escaping… whatever the hell that thing was-
Minato actually stopped when he heard footsteps. Someone was running towards the lobby and to his surprise, Yuu broke into the room like he had something to prove. He was genuinely surprised that the brunette had escaped the aragamis outside and somehow snuck inside the base-
"Ah, Yuu Kannagi," Minato called him by the name but received no response as Yuu was horrified at what he had seen, with his team beaten to the point of death and the hallway of Friar painted in blood. Aki arrived next and she was struck speechless much like him upon witnessing the condition of her friends, the fabled veterans who were strewn across the lobby. She lowered her weapon in confusion and just stared on, pale as a sheet and her eyes teary as she had not seen such a horrific display of brutality ever in her life.
"G-Guys…" Yuu followed the massive trial of blood and matter and his body jerked, tears bursting out when he saw the mutilated corpse leaking out blood onto the already crimson floor-
"Kota!"
The yelling from the two leaders finally made Minato chuckle and Yuu tore his eyes away from the dead body, tears still streaming down his face to which Minato merely laughed, delighted at the biggest fool in the world suffering and going through hell on earth. Yuu and his little girlfriend deserved the very worst and by the will of his goddess, he was going to put him through an even worse fate than Kota.
"Y-You," Kannagi finally recognized the bastard they found outside the walls and his gut instinct was confirmed as he just had the feeling that the boy was behind everything. Rachel was on the other side of the lobby so that meant the singularity he was going to rip through was the blue haired bastard standing before him-
The son of a bitch who had killed his best friend-
Yuu began to step towards Minato with his weapon shaking, his entire body trembling with rage as tears ran down his face but his teeth were gritted, jaw clenched tightly to the point that he was tasting blood in his mouth.
"Y-Yuu…" Alisa whispered as her leader almost lumbered towards the monster who had beaten them senseless, all in a few seconds and while to her, Yuu was the absolute best, after the abuse she had suffered at the hands of Minato, even she…
"You are quite the escape artist," Minato mocked, hands stuffed inside his pocket and overall very composed as the murderous aura coming from Yuu and Aki in waves bounced off him. "Managed to evade the aragamis outside."
"They…" Yuu spoke in pauses, stopping a few yards away from Minato. He took a painful glance at Kota and cursed something vile at the blue haired boy. "They're all dead…" the brunette hissed out, drawing his blade which was stained with the blood and guts of the numerous dead beasts he had ripped through-
For the first time, Minato lost his composure for a split second and actually took his stance as he removed his hands from the pockets and frowned at the brunette, clenching his fists when he double checked and indeed, Yuu had killed every one last of them.
"You're next…" Yuu warned in a low voice but with a great edge, his voice threatening to break and Minato shook his head, actually raising a fist in his direction as the leader of the beaten group took a step forward, locking his green eyes with the soulless silver ones of Minato-
Aki yelled at her leader and opened another flash grenade to trigger a flash of white light. Rachel shielded her eyes but Minato stood at the same spot, not blinded as he was no mere aragami. Regardless, he watched on as the redhead urged Yuu to grab their wounded teammates and did and the brunette did, but not before glaring at Minato on the way out. The blunet just smirked back at him, giving him the message that he was allowing them to escape for the time being.
As the first unit scampered out of the lobby, tails tucked and scarred for this life and the next, Minato turned and kicked the corpse out of the way, launching the same into the depths below as it was stinking up the place. He walked up the steps and Rachel was bowing her head at him, now a complete believer in his power but Minato scowled at her after he took a look around-
"My God, that was-"
"Shut your damn mouth," Minato silenced her and tapped his foot. "Your sister escaped."
"She did…?"
"Sneaked out during the chaos, I reckon," Minato shrugged in the end and faced her. "You can quit the act now, stand up."
Not one to disobey him, Rachel stood up without issue. She was healed the moment the doctors injected the bias factor and merely acted disabled to torment her sister and garner sympathy but the world was spiraling towards the end and she saw no need to need to continue the act but more importantly, there was no way she would disobey a command from Minato.
Minato scowled at her one last time and left for the basement where the kids were located, warning her not to follow but she did, no matter the pain that awaited her. After the spectacle of ungodly violence she had witnessed, she was willing to follow Minato to the end of the world.
"As it shall be…" Rachel giggled and walked off behind him, eager to see what had become of the orphans she had smuggled into Friar.
….
The entire team sans him and Aki were in the hospital, mauled worse than even the first Dyaus Pita mission. Yuu could not even file a mission report and the brunette was half dead for most of the time until Hibari personally visited him in his quarters and informed him of a civilian in the old city, being hunted by aragamis.
Yuu took on the SOS mission alone, ordering Aki to stay behind as he wanted time alone. For the first time, he was wounded by a freaking Ogretail as the vision of Kota's lifeless body flashed during every second of the mission and left him open to attacks but in the end, Yuu got his senses when he confirmed the identity of the civilian and the leader of the now beaten unit slaughtered the monsters in the vicinity.
Finally, upon directions from Tsubaki, he located the person stranded cowering inside an old building, sobbing and almost hysterical from the fear until Yuu came into her sight and that calmed her down somewhat.
"Dr. Leah…" Yuu crouched down next to her and offered his hand to her.
Leah took his hand and found some peace as she felt his rough and calloused grip.
"Y-You have to stop him…"
"..."
"You have to stop Minato,"
"Minato…"
Yiikes. RIP arm and the only follower of Bugarally. Apologies if this was too graphic but then again... so was the anime so I am trying to follow that.
