It was the next day following Harry's visit to Diagon Alley and he was ready to go back. The first thing Harry had done when he had come back to Privet Drive was to send another letter to Hermione with the book on Ancient Egypt he had bought for her. Then, he began to comb through each catalogue to see which broom parts he wanted to use for the Ravenstar. In the end, he decided to use the same parts as the Robin, not only because the Ravenstar was really an improved version of the Robin, but because he was familiar with these parts. He would differentiate both brooms by painting them different colours.

Something Harry discovered while reading the catalogues was that Quidditch Qualities Supplies only sold basic broom parts, as they specialised in selling entire broomsticks, along with Quidditch equipment. The parts themselves were available either in owl-order form (which Harry didn't want to use if he couldn't. He didn't think it would be a good idea to get a delivery to Privet Drive.) or go to the specialised shop in Diagon Alley. Harry had never heard of the shop named "Broomstix" but, thankfully, one of the catalogues gave its location in Diagon Alley. If he was correct, the shop was located further down the alley, on the left side of Gringotts.

The next morning, Harry had woken-up, excited to go back to the magical alley. He quickly took his shower and dressed. Without waiting any further, he left the house and called the Knight Bus.

Thirty minutes later, Harry had arrived to the Leaky Cauldron. The first thing Harry did was to go to Gringotts to withdraw some money from the Potter Broom Company account, which he put in its own, separate money bag. Then, he went to Broomstix.

Harry entered the shop. A small, soft bell was heard, announcing his presence. Harry could not help but feel like the shop had a very similar feeling to Ollivander's. It was a shop that had a rustic yet historic feeling to it, as if the shop itself held the memories of thousands of lives from various centuries.

The shop was not very big. On the walls on his left and right, Harry could see broom handles, heads, footrests and various other parts displayed. At the back of the room, Harry could see a small counter with a staircase behind, which Harry supposed went to the backstore.

As he approached the counter, a man with silver hair and a long moustache climbed down the stairs. "I figure I must have heard someone enter." he said to himself. "Welcome, young sir, to Broomstix. What can I do for you?"

"Hello." said Harry. "Are you the shop that sold Hogwarts broom parts a few months ago?" he asked.

"Indeed, we are. Broomstix has been manufacturing parts for various broom-makers for nearly four centuries. Unfortunately," he said with a sigh. "We have been slowly losing business these last few decades."

"Because of the new broomstick industry?" asked Harry. Harry had known that before the 1930s, brooms used to be made by independent broom-makers. It wasn't until the Cleensweep Company released its first model, the Cleensweep One, that the industry changed. A few groups of people followed the example of Cleansweep and founded their own broom-making businesses, including Nimbus and Comet. Harry supposed that while they might have started by buying parts like he was doing, some of these compagnies might now be making everything in-house.

"Partially." said the man. "As you said, we did indeed sell parts for thirty brooms to Hogwarts a few months ago. Why do you ask?"

"Because I want to buy the same parts for fifteen broomsticks." said Harry.

The man with the silver moustache raised an eyebrow but he didn't say anything. Instead, he went behind the counter and took out a book before going to one of the last pages. The man then proceeded to say the names of the parts aloud before saying "It's what you want to buy?"

"Yes, please." said Harry.

"Well, at 10 galleons per handle, 8 galleons per broom head and 3 galleons per footrest, it will cost 315 galleons in total. Do you have the money?"

Harry nodded. Even thought he had known the final price beforehand; he couldn't help but gulp. Harry had made a quick calculation while at home and had realised that all the parts would cost nearly 8000 pounds in muggle money. He was very thankful that he had inherited a large fortune. He knew his dream of making broomsticks would have died rather quickly otherwise.

The price might seem a lot, especially when compared to muggle brooms, but Broomstix offered a lot of services for broom-makers, including a lot of customisations of the parts, that just weren't found anywhere else. The parts Broomstix sold were also enchanted to be more durable and they could harness the power of the runes and charms much more efficiently than a normal broom, which made all enchantments more powerful. Harry had first learned that when he had tested a PMK-2 Robin built with the new parts and had found that the top speed had somehow increase of almost 10km/h without any other changes.

Harry took out the money bag with the Potter Broom Company galleons and showed it to the show owner. The man took the bag and put it on a scale. A number formed on the side.

The man looked considerably more cheerful. He then began talking to Harry about how the boy wanted his parts customised. Harry asked for the same specifications as given to Hogwarts, except for the colours. Harry asked for a shiny, silver coating on the shaft and a dark grey going black broom head. The footrest was simply in matte black. As for the engraving, Harry decided to put a simplistic drawing of a black raven and added the name Ravenstar under it. The engraving would go on top of the broom. Harry would later engrave a small registration number on each side which would go from one to fifteen.

Finally, the sale was done and Harry and the man loaded all the parts in the third compartment of Harry's trunk. Harry paid the price of 315 galleons and left the shop toward the Leaky Cauldron.

After paying for a room for the day, Harry began enchanting his first PMK-3 Ravenstar. For now, his plan was to only enchant one before testing it. He wanted to be sure that everything was perfect before continuing. He knew it could be an expensive mistake if something was wrong with the rune program but Harry believed in himself.

Compared to the Mark I, the process to enchant Ravenstars was both similar and different. The main difference was that Harry couldn't just write the runes and push his magic at the end to activate them. The current enchanting process had Harry flow his magic through the enchantments at various stages. It was the reason why Harry couldn't just engrave the runes in Privet Drive and activate them in Diagon Alley. Another different thing was that the program for the Ravenstar was nearly three times as big as the one for the Mark I.

While Harry was capable to engraving runes faster than in his First Year, it still took him more than two hours to complete the first PMK-3 Ravenstar broomstick. In the end, he was left with a beautiful silver and black flying broomstick levitating in front of him, ready to take a rider for a fly. Harry grinned before he put the broomstick in his trunk. Now, he had to test it. The problem was that he had no idea where to do so. He knew there must been some place where Harry could fly freely in England, but he had no idea where such place could exist. All he could do was ask someone. Since there was not better place to ask a question related to broomsticks and Quidditch, Harry decided to go to his favourite shop in Diagon Alley: Quidditch Quality Supplies.

Harry was not surprised when he arrived to the shop to find that there was a still a crowd admiring the Firebolt, nor was he surprised to find one inside as well. Ignoring both crowds and the object of their attention, Harry went toward the counter.

"Welcome to Quidditch Quality Supplies, what can I do for you?" asked a female clerk. Harry blinked, recognising who it was.

"Katie?" he asked.

"Harry?" said Katie Bell. Suddenly, she grinned and walked around the counter before taking Harry in her arms. "How's my little brother doing?"

"Little brother?" squeaked Harry with shock.

"Of course! Angelina, Alicia and I all began seeing you as your little brother last year!"

Harry smiled. "I always wanted siblings..." he said. "Does that mean you three are my older sisters?"

"Of course, we are!" said Katie. "Now, before I forget I'm technically on my shift, what can I do for you, Harry?"

"Actually, I'm not here to buy anything. I was simply wondering if there was a place where we can fly during the summer without being spotted by muggles."

"Of course! I suggest you go to Babbacombe Stadium, near Chudleigh. That's the stadium of the Chudley Cannons and it's open to the public in the off-season."

"Really?" asked Harry. "That's cool!"

"It is, isn't it?" smirked Katie.

"Well, thanks for the information, Katie." said Harry.

"See you soon, Harry."

After another trip of the Knight Bus, Harry arrived in front of the Babbacombe Stadium. The stadium was smaller than he had imagined. It seemed to be only twice the capacity of the Hogwarts Quidditch pitch, which wasn't much. Then again, Harry knew that the Chudley Cannons did not have a lot of supporters, which meant that they didn't have that many people attending their games.

The history of Babbacombe Stadium was quite interesting. From what he had read in a book a few months prior, the current stadium had been built in 1943 after a bombing from German planes had destroyed the previous one the year prior. That in itself was quite the shock as the other teams near the English Channel had been protected from such attacks. From what the book had said, the manager of the Cannons hadn't believed that muggle technology was powerful enough to do more than simple damage. This had followed a series of misfortunes for the Cannons so the destruction of the stadium was the last straw for the owners. The manager had been fired and replaced by a young woman by the name of Caroline Vaisey. Unfortunately for the team, while the new manager did her job better than her predecessor, it wasn't enough to raise the luck of the team.

Harry walked toward the entrance gate of the stadium, which was open. On each side of the entrance were orange Cannons banners, which showed a hand with two fingers crossed. It hadn't been a challenge for Harry to enter the stadium and walk on the pitch, as the way was open to visitors. Harry had spotted a few other witches and wizards holding broomsticks along the way. When he entered the stadium, he saw that five others were currently flying, with two small groups walking on the grass.

Harry stepped on the pitch and detached his trunk from his belt. Making sure that nobody was really looking at him, he returned the trunk to its proper size before opening the third compartment. He quickly jumped inside to grab the Ravenstar before climbing out of it. Locking his trunk and making it miniature again – before attaching it back to his belt – Harry dropped the broom on the ground and tested the first functionality.

"Up!"

The broom jumped in his hand very quickly – almost as fast as his Nimbus 2000 – making him grin. Harry put his legs around the broom and kicked off the ground, taking off. Already, he noticed that the take-off speed was nearly twice faster than the Robin, which was quite surprising for Harry. He and Hermione had only glossed over the enchantments used for that functionality. Then again, he supposed, it was possible that the increased speed was due to the improvements to the acceleration charms.

As what now usual, Harry began by flying in a straight line, to test both the acceleration and braking of the brooms. Then, he tested its manoeuvrability, first by doing simple moves before going into more and more complex manoeuvres. Of course, it was at this point that Harry forgot all about the tests and simply began flying for fun.

Harry had a lot of fun flying around a professional-grade Quidditch stadium. He especially enjoyed flying in formation with other flyers who, just like him, came here to fly and have fun. Harry and a few other flyers did various moves and manoeuvres together in a way that would make the Royal Air Force jealous. While the purpose of coming to Babbacombe Stadium had left his mind, Harry still proudly noted that he managed to keep up with the other flyers without too much problems. He was able to compare himself to other brooms and Harry put the capabilities of the Ravenstar on-par with older Comet and Cleansweep models such as the Cleansweep Four and some old Comet 220s.

Harry only landed two hours later. He was greatly satisfied with the Ravenstar he had enchanted, which he put back in the trunk. Just before he left the pitch, Harry took out a small notepad and a pencil and began writing his notes on the broom as he walked toward the exit. From what Harry had figured, the PMK-3 Ravenstar reached a top-speed of around 100km/h (~62 mph). He wasn't sure of the precise speed, making him realise he should probably buy some sort of speedometer, or find a charm that could be used the same way. He would have to ask Hermione.

As for the rest, the broom handled very similarly to a PMK-2 Robin. Harry did note that the Ravenstar was slightly more agile than its predecessor, although it was only noticeable while flying at high speed. As for the acceleration, the Ravenstar didn't show any improvements. It was about on-par with the Robin.

So focused Harry was on his notes that he didn't notice a slightly angry looking and burly man with long, white hair and a white bushy beard exiting from a door that led inside the stadium, causing him to crash in him.

Harry and the man fell on the ground. The notepad jerked out of Harry's hand and landed a few feet away from him.

"I'm terribly sorry, sir!" apologised Harry, raising back on his feet. "I wasn't looking where I was going." he said before lending a hand to the man. The man grabbed his hand and Harry helped pull him back on his feet.

"No worries, dear boy." said the man kindly. "I wasn't looking where I was going either. Are you alright?"

"Yes, thank you." said Harry, grabbing back his notepad. "What about you?"

"Oh, I'm fine." said the man. Had he been speaking to anyone else; the man might just have been believed but Harry had himself used that excuse more times than not which allowed him to detect when someone wasn't actually fine.

"Are you sure?" asked Harry with concern.

As if realising what Harry was thinking, the man let out a chuckle. "I'm not exactly fine, but it's for something unrelated." he said. "I just came from a meeting with Madam Vaisey and the owners of the Cannons. I'm trying to gain support, you see? It is a dream of mine to bring back the Falmouth Falcons to the British and Irish Quidditch League but the League refuse to allow me to build an expansion team! They claim that they don't want to have an odd number of teams! They say it would disadvantage the Southern Division, since they would have more teams to compete with for a spot in the Cup Finals than the Northern Division! I mean, I wouldn't mind joining the league with another team but there haven't been any moves to create a new expansion team since the nineteenth century!" He sighed. "I'm trying to gain the support of the other teams in the Southern Division to change the mind of the League but I've been unsuccessful so far." he finished grumpily.

"So, the BIQL will only allow you to build a team if someone else want to do the same thing up north?" asked Harry.

"Exactly! But, as I said, there hasn't been any interest to expand the league for the last century and I doubt there would be anyone else but me interested for the next few decades. The only way I can make my dream true is to gain the support of the other teams." he sighed, looking at the door he had just exited with longing.

Harry didn't know what to say. He didn't know a lot about the British and Irish Quidditch League but, as far as he could tell, twelve teams seemed like a good number of teams for a wizarding sports league. Then again, adding a team or two to the League could always make things more interesting. "Well, I hope you will have luck with the other teams." said Harry.

"So do I, boy. So do I." muttered the man as he left the stadium. Harry watched the man go through the gates and disappear with a pop before he himself followed. He decided to file the information he had received about possible expansions for later. Once outside, he called for the Knight Bus, and returned home.

It took Harry nearly two weeks to enchant the remaining fourteen PMK-3 Ravenstars. Every day, Harry would use the Knight Bus and travel to the Leaky Cauldron, where he would rent a room. Then, Harry would spend nearly the entire day enchanting broomsticks, only taking pauses to eat or go to the toilet. In the first few days, Harry only managed to enchant two Ravenstars per day but, as he was getting used to it, his production speed increased. In the last few days, Harry was managing to enchant three brooms per day.

By that point, it had been nearly a month since the Summer Holidays had begun, which meant that Harry's birthday was getting close. Harry and Hermione continued to send each other letters during those two weeks. Hermione had been delighted to receive the book Harry had sent her, and had already told him that she had used the book as reference in her essay for the History of Magic homework they had received, which had amused Harry.

Harry had sent Hermione his notes on the results of the PMK-3 Ravenstar benchmark. While Harry wasn't planning on beginning to work on the Mark IV until the upcoming school year had begun again, he still believed that Hermione would be interested in his findings. In the letter attached to the notes, Harry had asked what she believed they should focus on for the Mark IV. In her response letter, she had thanked him about the notes but had said nothing else about it. It made Harry raise an eyebrow, knowing that Hermione always gave her opinion when he asked for it. The fact that she hadn't had been strange but Harry figured that she might simply not have time to think about it because her vacations, and he didn't think about it any further.

Now that the PMK-3 Ravenstars were completed, Harry was forced to go back to the Ministry of Magic to file patent and trademark claims for the newest Potter broomstick. It took him nearly the whole day to do alone but, in the end, he had successfully registered the PMK-3 Ravenstar. With the paperwork all completed for the Ravenstar, Harry figured it was time to sell it.

Harry entered Quidditch Quality Supplies, his magical trunk still attached to his belt. He was not surprised to see once again a crowd around the two displayed Firebolts. Although it was about half as big as when Harry first visited that summer, the Firebolt still managed to build a small crowd of awed of Quidditch enthusiasts.

Walking around the small crowd admiring the Firebolt, Harry walked toward the counter. Just like the last time he had visited, his friend and Quidditch teammate Katie Bell was standing behind the counter. Unlike last time, she was currently talking to someone else, someone familiar to Harry. It was Oliver Wood, and he appeared to be flirting with Katie, if his grin and the red on her cheeks were any indication.

"Hello, Katie, Oliver!" greeted Harry.

Both turned toward him. "Harry! Good to see you, little bro!" said Katie, making Harry flush.

"There is my favourite Seeker!" grinned Oliver upon seeing Harry.

"I'm your only Seeker." said Harry, rolling his eyes.

"Still my favourite!" he said. "After all, we didn't lose a single match you have played! You're just that good!"

"I'm not that..." started a flushing Harry but he was interrupted by Katie.

"Not that good? Are you mental, man? You're better than the other Seekers combined!"

"Katie speaks true!" said Oliver, nodding furiously.

"Anyway, what can I do for you?" asked Katie. "Did you manage to find Babbacombe Stadium last time?"

"I did, thank you very much." he thanked. "As for why I'm here, do you remember a personal project of mine? You know, the one I've been working on all year?"

"You mean, your brooms?" grinned Oliver. Harry nodded. "Have you finished your second version, then?" he asked.

Harry blinked. He was slightly confused and it took him a few moments to remember that only Hermione and Ron knew the whole story. "Mate," said Harry. "The Mark II was completed last Christmas!" he said with amusement.

"Why didn't you say so earlier!" complained Oliver. Harry and Katie snickered.

"I guess it just never crossed my mind with everything that was happening last year." he said, effectively killing the amusement the three felt at that moment.

"Yes... I can see your point." said Katie.

"Well, to address why I'm here today," continued Harry cheerfully. "I need to talk about what I did with the Mark II. After Hermione flew it, she commented that it was better than the school brooms and a lot safer. As a result, we came up with the idea to sell the rune sequence to the school. We talked with Professor McGonagall and Madam Hooch and, badabing badaboom, the brooms First Years will use next year will be Mark IIs! Or 'Robins', as we later called them."

"You mean... you sold to Hogwarts the enchantments to make their own brooms, based on what you and Hermione worked on for your Mark II?" said Oliver, grinning with excitement.

Harry nodded. "Technically, we sold the rights to use reproduce the enchantments, but yes."

"That's... amazing!" said Katie.

"I know, right?" smiled Harry. "After that, we began working on the Mark III. We decided to end its development when the school year ended." he said.

"I imagine Hermione's petrification slowed you down?" asked Katie. Harry flinched as his face fell. He looked down at his shoes and simply nodded. His throat felt strangely strict, as if something was squeezing it.

There was a reason why Harry wished so much to be in France with the Grangers currently, and it wasn't because of the Dursleys. Harry still felt horrible about what had happened with Hermione. Her petrification had hit him hard and, sometimes, he still felt the despair and guilt he had within him at the time, even if he knew Hermione was fine and in France with her parents. Part of him wished he could be with her, if only to reassure himself that she was perfectly fine. Sending and receiving letters helped, but Harry still missed her presence.

Harry felt himself be taken in someone's arms and looked up. Katie had walked around the counter and hugged him. Harry felt himself melt in his honorary older sister's arms. Oliver had done something similar and walked to his side, where he put his hand on Harry's shoulder, just like an older brother would do.

"You still feel hurt, do you?" asked Katie kindly. Not thrusting himself to speak, Harry only nodded. "Don't worry... Everything will be fine, Harry... You will see her again in a month..."

Harry slowly backed away and gave another nod. He cleared his throat, trying to make it feel normal again. "Thank you." he whispered. Katie and Oliver smiled.

"We've gone off topic, have we?" asked Oliver with a chuckle.

"I believe we have." said Harry, also chuckling. "As I was saying, we decided to end the development of the Mark III on the last few days of school. I just spent the last two weeks enchanting fifteen Mark III broomsticks and I came here to see if Quidditch Qualities Supplies was willing to make a deal to sell them." he explained to his two friends.

"A new broom on the market?" said a kind voice from behind them, making him jump. The voice appeared familiar to Harry, although he could not place it. "That would certainly be interesting to see!"

"Boss!" said Katie, flushing in realisation that she wasn't exactly at her post, nor doing her job.

Harry turned around, and was shocked to see who the 'Boss', who he assumed to be either the owner or manager of the shop, was.

"You...!" gasped Harry. In front of him stood the man he had ran into at Babbacombe Stadium, the man who wished to bring back the Falmouth Falcons into the BIQL.

"Well, it is surprising to see you here, boy!" smiled the man. "Although it shouldn't be the case, as nearly every teenager visits my shop at least once." Then, looking at Harry, he added "Did I hear right? You made brooms yourself and want to sell them?"

"Yes, sir." he said, flushing slightly. Ever since his talk with Madam Hooch during the last Saturday of May, Harry had realised that people would have a hard time believing that he could enchant good, proper brooms by himself. "Has hard as it might be to believe." he added.

"Well, why don't we go in the backstore, to see your brooms? I thrust you have one with you?" he asked.

Harry nodded. "Inside my miniaturised magical trunk attached to my belt."

"Excellent!" he said. "Follow me, young sir."

"Good luck, Harry!" said Katie.

"Thanks." smiled Harry as he and the man entered the backstore. Harry followed him until they arrived in a clear corner of the room.

"I realise, we haven't introduced ourselves yet, have we?" asked the man. Harry shook his head. "Well, let me begin. I am Aurelius Widdershins, owner of Quidditch Quality Supplies and, in my free time, member of the Wizengamot." he joked.

"Harry Potter." said Harry.

Mr. Widdershins' eyes widened for a fraction of seconds. "That is certainly a surprise." he muttered before doing a clap of the hands "No matters! Tell me about your broomstick..."

So, Harry told Mr. Widdershins the story behind the Ravenstar, beginning with the Mark I and then talking about the Robin. The older man was fascinated by Harry's story, especially once he mentioned that he had managed to sell the rights to use the PMK-2 Robin enchantments to Hogwarts to make their own brooms. While he told his story, Harry took a Ravenstar out of his magical trunk. Harry briefly noticed that his broom looked a lot like how a Mercedes-Benz broomstick would look like if the car company expended into the wizarding world.

"Fascinating." whispered Mr. Widdershins at the end of Harry's tale. His reaction felt very reminiscent to Professor Dumbledore's own after he hand Hermione had presented the Robin. "May I cast a few charms on the broom?" he asked.

"What type of charms?" asked Harry.

"A benchmark charm." said Mr. Widdershins. "It will give us precise figures about the performances of the broomstick."

"Then it's fine." he said. Mr. Widdershins then cast his charm. For a few seconds, the Ravenstar glowed in a light-green light before information appeared over the broom, written in the same colour.

It was Harry's turn to be fascinated. The information seemed to be very precise! For instance, the top-most light-green line said 'TOP SPEED: 101.067 KM/H (62.8 MPH)'. The second line indicated 'ACCELERATION: 0-60 MPH – 11 SECONDS'. It continued over and over indicating various data about the Ravenstar. Mr. Widdershins rubbed his chin, looking at the data.

"I must admit, it is quite an impressive broom for something made by two Second-Years." he said.

"Thank you." said Harry, feeling his cheeks go hot.

"However..." he said, making Harry's stomach drop. "It is still not that fast. It makes me wonder if it could sell..." he muttered mostly to himself.

"Well..." stuttered Harry. "The idea behind the Ravenstar was to make a cheap but safe broom that could be used either for backyard Quidditch or as a learning tool. Hermione and I's goal with the Ravenstar was to make a broom that would be enjoyable to fly for both the less experienced and those who could fly anything. If the broom is advertised and sold as an affordable and safe broom that can be used for both of these functions, it could very well sell."

"That is not wrong." said Mr. Widdershins. Then, looking at Harry, he said "Would you be ready to use your name to advertise your broom?"

While Harry didn't like his fame, he understood why it would be a good thing to use it to help sell his brooms. So, he nodded. "Yes."

Mr. Widdershins smiled. "Well, Mr. Potter, you might just get yourself a deal."

Harry smiled in relief.

Harry and Mr. Widdershins spent the next hour and a half discussing about their plans for the Ravenstar. In the end, they had decided that the Ravenstars would be released on Harry's birthday, as people would already be thinking about him. The first twelve brooms - he had decided to keep three brooms for himself, Hermione and Ron - would be sold during the month of August and, depending on the success, Harry might end up enchanting more. If the brooms were really successful, Harry and Mr. Widdershins would enter a deal to sell Quidditch Quality Supplies the rights to build and enchant their own PMK-3 Ravenstars. If the deal went through, the price would unfortunately be increased by a few galleons as, unlike Harry, the employees of the shop wouldn't be working on the brooms during their free time.

The final price they had settled on for the PMK-3 Ravenstar was 30 galleons. The Potter Broom Company would get 22 galleons per broom sold while Quidditch Qualities Supplies would keep the rest. Harry could have asked for more but he wanted the price to stay low and his principal objective with the Ravenstar was not to make money but test the market.

Harry exited the shop that afternoon with a smile. His magical trunk was thirteen brooms lighter. Apart from the fact that he would have to come back for the next few days to take multiple pictures, Harry was really looking forward to his birthday.
