Crockett was back in the operating room and something caught his attention.

Looking around he saw that a telephone was ringing in a chair.

It had to be the detective's.

He read the name on the display, he was her boss. He then decided to answer.

Not even the time to say hello that on the other side he felt:

- Upton where the hell are you and Halstead? -

At the other end of the phone was a rather angry Voight. He had already tried to call Jay, but his phone was ringing blank.

He had left it nice jacket pocket on the car.

Intelligence had been tipped off by a whistleblower and had to act immediately, despite the fact that it was the day off for the members.

After a moment of hesitation the doctor said:

- Sergeant, this is Dr. Marcel Crockett.

- Doctor? What is happening?

And so the doctor explained what little he knew to the sergeant and the latter decided to go to the hospital with his detectives who were there when he made the call.

The doctor handed the phone to the nurse who was cleaning the room for her to take it to Hayley.

Meanwhile Jay was with her. He was sitting next to her partner. Her eyes were filled with tears and it was the first time I let go of her making them fall free from her cheeks.

A little later a nurse came in to call him and get him out. He nodded his head while keeping his gaze down and then left the room.

At one point a rather familiar sound to him filled his ears.

The sound of the blue code.

All the doctors rushed to help but, like Will, the heart rate monitor line went flat and she died as well.

The detective was frozen.

He couldn't be. Not even her.

Now he was alone.

She stared at the room and Dr. Crockett turning off the machines.

Slowly he slid to the ground, on his knees.

He was broken, broken.

Nothing was worth more. Life was meaningless.

At that moment as the father goes to his son Voight arrived and behind him the whole team. They were all grieved, they had lost a colleague and a friend.

But for Jay it wasn't the same, he had lost his brother and then his partner, friend, girlfriend.

Now he was alone.

Voight walked over to him, bent down to look him in the face.

Pale, staring eyes, no expression.

He gripped his shoulder with his hand.

Colleagues sat there in the waiting room, no one could get close to Jay.

They had tried, but he wasn't ready for displays of affection and comfort.

After several minutes Halstead rose, skidding visibly.

He walked right in front of his team heading to Maggie to inquire about the procedure to follow.

It was an absurd day.
