Star and Marco continued to chat amongst themselves as they walked home, completely unaware of the two girls that were following them at the park.
"I had lots of fun today Marco. Thanks for everything." Star smiled as she skipped down the sidewalk.
Marco chuckled. "It's no problem princess."
The two of them were nearing Marco's house, so Star smirked and started running.
"I'm gonna beat you!" Star laughed.
"That's not fair!" Marco shouted as he took off after her. "You got a head start!"
Star laughed even more. "Either way I'm still gonna win!"
"We'll see about that!"
Eventually, Star ran through the front door of the house and quickly went towards her room, shutting the door and locking it behind her.
"Open the door princess! You can't hide forever!" Marco yelled.
"Never!" Star giggled.
Marco sighed in defeat but chuckled in amusement as he walked back towards his own room. Star noticed that it had gone quiet, so she went up to the door and pressed her ear up against it. She still heard nothing so she looked under the door and saw no feet.
'Maybe he's tired and went to bed. I can tell him goodnight after I change!' Star thought as she scurried over to her closet and grabbed some random shirt hanging on the racks.
I really don't wanna go into detail cause I'm on a time limit so uh- ye timeskip-
Star stood in front of Marco's bedroom door. She had been standing there for a few minutes now, actually. All she needed to do was knock on his door and tell him goodnight, but apparently her body wouldn't allow her to do it.
'Come on! Why can't I move?! All I need to do is tell him goodnight!' Star thought in frustration.
Finally, Star was able to knock on the door. It took every ounce of strength in her body, but she finally did it.
"Marco? I just wanted to say goodnight, I'll be going to bed now." Star said to the door. "I..erm...I had a lot of fun with you tonight. I'm glad we got to know each other better as well."
Star sighed, she was about to turn away from the door and head back to her room when she heard a voice behind her say,
"Well you're not the first one to pour your heart out to me, but I admit that was cute."
And there stood Marco, dripping wet with a towel wrapped around his waist and drying his hair with a separate towel.
"GAH! MARCO?!" Star cried out as she tried to cover her eyes and blushing face. "W-Why are you n-naked?!"
Marco chuckled. "On the contrary, I'm only partially naked. Plus people need to get clean Star!"
"Okay fine, you have a point, but still! You should've told me you were going to take a shower so I wouldn't have had to talk to the door like an idiot!"
"Well," Marco began as he moved closer to Star, who slowly inched backwards until Marco had her pressed up against his bedroom door. "Even if you are an idiot, you'd be the cutest dang idiot I've ever met."
Star was at a loss for words since Marco's lips were mere inches from hers.
Without thinking, Star slammed her lips onto Marco's. His eyes widened in shock, but he couldn't give two shitss about it and started kissing her back while putting his hands onto her hips and pulling her closer to his body.
The two teens were soon making out against the door. Star was being held up by Marco with her legs wrapped around his waist and her arms wrapped around his neck. They never wanted this moment to end, until Star snapped back into reality and realized what she was doing.
Star stopped and turned her head away from Marco, who stared at her in confusion.
"What's wrong princess?" Marco whispered in her ear, slightly concerned.
"We can't be doing this...it's wrong.." Star muttered as she dropped her legs and removed her arms from his neck.
"Wrong? How is it wrong?" Marco spat. "We spent the entire afternoon together, and that wasn't wrong?!"
"This is different!"
"How?"
"We can't be doing this! We're only a fake couple, not a real couple! We don't like each other and I certainly don't like you!"
Marco stared at the girl with a hurt expression. Star wanted to die right then, knowing that she had messed up by saying that.
"If you don't like me, then stay away from me." Marco muttered under his breath as he pushed past her and went into his room, slamming the door behind him.
Star debated on whether or not she should try and apologize, but she finally realized it would be pointless, he'd never forgive her. Reluctantly, Star headed back to her room with a heavy heart, and then fell into an uneasy slumber.
Marco, on the other hand, had gotten changed into some PJs and was slumped over in a slouched position sitting on his bed.
"Fuck, I'm such an idiot. She probably thinks I'm mad at her now. I should've just respected that she wanted space." Marco muttered to himself.
"Maybe things will be different in the morning.."
Afterwards, Marco laid back in his bed and also fell into an uneasy sleep.
In the morning
Star was the first one to wake up that morning. She had a bad headache from crying most of the night about what happened with Marco, but she decided to just look in her book of spells to try and find some kind of healing spell.
She got up and picked the pieces of her uniform up off the floor and quickly changed. She wanted to be out of the house as fast as possible so she didn't have to face Marco. Although considering what she had told him last night, she was probably the last person he wanted to see as well.
Star stumbled to pull up her shoes as she tried to walk out of the door simultaneously, causing her to trip over her own foot and fall. She braced for the impact of the floor, but it never came. Instead, Star looked up to see that she was in the arms of Marco.
"You good princess?" He asked, looking at her slightly concerned.
"Yeah I'm fine..." Star sputtered as she leapt out of his embrace.
Marco shrugged. "Whatever, I'm gonna go now so don't expect me to be waiting on you."
Star stared at him in disbelief as he walked down the stairs and out the door like that didn't just happen.
"Ugh! He is so cold hearted!" Star huffed as she walked downstairs and into the kitchen to see what she could eat for breakfast.
Star opened the fridge and stared at the contents inside it. All of the foods looked edible, but also confusing, so Star chose a slice of white cake with lots of frosting on it.
"This looks good enough. Hopefully it hasn't gone bad." Star shrugged as she picked up a piece of the cake with her fork and put it in her mouth, to which she almost melted from how sweet the icing was, and how soft the cake was.
Star quickly scarfed down the cake slice and within seconds it was reduced to a plate of crumbs and smudges of icing, to which she eagerly picked up with her fingers and sucked on. Glancing at the nearby clock, Star noticed that it was 7:50. There was still time to get to school before the bell rang, so Star grabbed her bag off the couch and walked out of the door.
Star noticed Marco was standing on the sidewalk, looking on his phone.
"I thought you said you weren't gonna wait on me?" Star smirked, crossing her arms.
"Well it turns out school is cancelled today." Marco shrugged.
Star looked confused. "Why though?"
"Spider infestation."
Star thought about how that would look and shuddered. She tolerated spiders but it still creeped her out sometimes.
"If school is cancelled, then why are you still standing out here in your uniform?" Star asked. "Why not go back inside and change?"
"I was on the phone with Oskar, we were planning to meet up today." Marco said. "Do you wanna come?"
"Sure! That sounds fun!" Star smiled, which made Marco blush a bit, but he quickly shrugged it off.
"Well let's hurry up and change. We're meeting him at the boardwalk." Marco said as he quickly walked past her and ran back into the house with Star not far behind him.
Marco was sitting on the couch, texting Oskar while he was waiting for Star to finish changing. For some odd reason though, she was taking a long time.
"Star? What's taking so long?" Marco called up the stairs. "We need to leave now!"
"I um...I need a little help.." Star's voice drifted from upstairs.
Grumbling, Marco reluctantly went back up the stairs and into Star's room to see her struggling to zip up her dress from the back.
"Can you zip me Marco?" Star sighed in defeat as Marco chuckled.
"Sure thing princess, but why didn't you just tell me that earlier so we could've left on time?" Marco asked as he zipped her dress.
Star pouted, to which Marco found adorable, as she put on her oversized white cardigan and pulled her black socks to her thighs and then slipped into her white lacy ballet flats that had a bow on the toe covered part.
"Are you ready to go now princess?" Marco said as he walked towards the door.
Star nodded as she put a white floppy bow into her hair. "Yep!"
She grabbed her bag, which had her wand and phone in it, off her bed and quickly scurried after Marco and walked out of the door so they could finally meet up with Oskar.
At the park
The entire walk to the park was silent, since neither of them had or knew what to say. Once they got there, Marco scanned the area to find Oskar and soon found him waiting at a nearby picnic table.
"C'mon, Oskar's over there." Marco said to Star as he grabbed her hand and quickly went over to the table.
When Oskar saw them, he grinned and starting whistling at them
"Well don't you guys look like a cute ass couple!" Oskar smirked as he wiggled his eyebrows.
Marco scoffed as he dropped Star's hand. "Oh please, we have to pretend to date to get Jackie off my ass. I wouldn't date this goody two-shoes even if she was the last girl on Earth!"
When Star heard those words come out of his mouth, she immediately felt heartbroken, but she knew she shouldn't. She couldn't like someone she just met, and he has clearly shown he wants nothing to do with him anymore.
Oskar looked over at Star, to which he noticed she had been oddly quiet and had her head down.
"I'm going home..I'll see you guys later.." Star muttered as she began to turn away, but a hand grabbed her wrist to stop her, which was Marco.
"Why are you leaving? What's up with you?" Marco asked.
"What's up with me?" Star scoffed as she yanked her hand out of Marco's grip. "I should be asking you that!"
Marco just stared at her in confusion. "What are you going on about now Star?!"
"Don't fucking play dumb with me you playboy! You think it's okay to fucking play with my feelings like this?! I've had enough! If you don't like me then don't act like you do and stay away from me!" Star spat.
Then, Star did the unthinkable. She punched Marco across the face so hard it made him stumble back a few steps.
"I fucking hate you! You bastard!" Star screamed as tears started to run down her cheeks. She then took off running, a sobbing, broken hearted mess.
Marco stared at the direction Star had run off in shock, he was stunned that she would actually curse, and that she could really pack a punch.
"You fucked up bro." Oskar sighed as he got up and started walking off.
"Wait a damn minute! Where the hell do you think you're going?!" Marco growled.
"Well someone needs to go and comfort her, don't you think?!" Oskar hissed. "And since you are incapable of being a caring person, don't bother trying to apologize!"
After that Oskar continued to walk off, leaving a stunned Marco behind.
