They came up with their plan. The goal was to selectively engage the gang enough to then take control of the Falcon from them. Task found a discreet position in that neighboring building to do the hack job while Hitomi and cap would infiltrate the hangar via a side door. It didn't need or have sentient or droid security. It didn't need it. The sensor system around it was good enough. But task was a droid and spoke the language all computers did. The key was for task to buy Hitomi and cap enough time so they could steal the millennium Falcon and get the hell outta there with it.
That would be tricky; and that was where Hitomi would need to prove herself. Obviously the ship would have security codes put into place by the gangster to prevent a theft of his most prized ship. While cap would be getting her ready to fly it would be Hitomi's job to take down the security. Task would buy them time before joining them.
That was the plan anyway. But as cap knew well about all battle plans: they always changed when entering a real fight.
Cap and Hitomi were now positioned beyond the hangar's sensor range. They wouldn't have long before both the gang and the imps came down hard. Stealth and surprise wouldn't be theirs for long.
"Now" said task. The local sensor blackout was now in place. The sentient duo moved fast for the door. Cap covered her with shield ready as she used her tools to breach the door. Soon enough they were inside. Cap had already reached out with his power to determine where the tangos were.
From here on out he took point as this was more his realm. Hitomi stayed behind him; blaster low but ready. Quiet was what they had to be here. Noise would only make things that much harder.
Cap was at the first tango and and took him down with a quick quiet neck break. He did similar to the other outer perimeter tangos. They were all humanoids; so their anatomy was similar for tactical purposes cap reasoned. That reasoning proved right so far.
A few more to go. Cap put a high side kick to a human tango's face to kill that baddie instantly as well. Cap caught him on his shield before he could fall to the ground to make an alerting sound.
Cap threw his shield at another sentry to shatter his windpipe. Cap then ran at him with shield back on his arm and seeing no other baddies around smashed the thug in the face with the shield front to kill him too.
The Falcon of the millennium was now theirs for the taking…
Cap went to a hangar bay control panel and covered it while Hitomi accessed its controls to manually bypass the Falcon's safeguards. Cap's angelic senses told him more baddies were incoming as the dead sentries hadn't made their regular checkins.
"Almost there." Cap waited with endless patience. As an angel of Saint Michael cap was like ghost rider now in terms of power levels. Way beyond it too if needed. He was already an eternal being. Peggy as an angel of god had seen to that. Nothing had ever been the same since. Nothing would ever be the same again.
The baddies were closer now. Task "guys, they're almost there." "I know" said cap. Hitomi "almost there…" task "too late!"
The doors opened. Cap said nothing. He just sprinted for the incoming baddies. Hitomi sensed him move away like a blur. "Steve!"
The baddies came through in force and at seeing the shield carrying human from afar opened fire with heavy blaster fire. Cap's shield blocked most shots. He ran faster yet. Soon enough he'd closed the gap and was right among them. He did a jumping side kick followed with a spin kick to take out a few thugs. Another thug shot him in the arm with a blaster. It hurt but the thug had no idea what he was dealing with. Cap brought his shield end down hard on his gun to sever its barrel and knock it free from his hand before then doing an upward strike to the thug's face to end him.
From her position Hitomi could tell that cap was drawing their fire and focus so she could do her job. She did so.
More came in. Task "the imps have been alerted too!"
They'd predicted all this. It was just a matter of staying calm and getting the job done. Cap increased his speed and thinned them out faster yet. The entire gang was on alert now.
"Got it!" Said Hitomi.
The Falcon's ramp descended to the ground. Hitomi then exchanged a few shots with thugs near to cap. She took them down to help him a little more. They shared a quick look. She then ran onto the ship to get it ready.
Cap returned to the fight without delay. Task "imperial patrols are converging fast guys! Faster than I'd calculated for." "Copy that" said cap while bashing away without cessation. He hadn't thrown his shield again and wasn't planning to. They might have to bug out quick.
He hit another group head on. His arm wound had already healed. It could heal even faster. His powers weren't subject to physics in that sense of things and they were extra dimensional beyond that. Cap didn't try to understand it. Only knowing that it worked.
He spin kicked a group of them down and smashed down a few more with the shield. "Cap-!" Said task into their comms before a blaster shot was heard. "Task? Task." Nothing. Not even static. Hitomi tried too. Still nothing. "Steve…" cap took out the last of the thugs.
He reached out with his power. Task… was gone… the imps had destroyed him. He was certain of it. He could see the angelic playback of it in his mental eye. It was done.
"Steve?" Imps entered and fired. Cap blocked a few shots and threw his shield again into them. As before the shield hammered (no Thor puns intended!) into them and smashed them down as though hulk had thrown it instead.
The Falcon's engines started. Cap's shield flew back to his arm this time. More Imp baddies were coming in. Time to fly. Literally.
Cap ran up and into the cockpit. Hitomi moved to the copilot seat and brought up the ramp. More imperials came in. Hitomi lowered a ventral swivel blaster and fired on them. Cap went at the controls like a pro although he'd never done this before on a Lucasian ship of any kind. But the angel powers kicked in and made him work the controls like an expert.
The Falcon's cannon did the job for now but more imps were coming. It was now or never. Cap lifted them off and soon enough they were flying through the twisting tunnel. Soon enough they were flying out into the sleepless Coruscanti cityscape beyond. And for space. They weren't free yet but it was a start. Cap would take it.
