Chapter 6: "He is not leaving tomorrow".

When she looked in the mirror the next morning, she was not surprised to notice her slightly swollen and reddened lips.
It's just the beginning, she thought. Well, now I have to tell him everything. We must do something about all of this.
When she arrived, she went straight to the magistrate's office. There was no need to wait to discuss with her old friend. When he saw her, Mithrol, sitting in his desk next to the door, gave her a surprised look.
"Is he there?" Kara asked him without bothering to be polite.
"Good morning, Marshall. Yes, the Magistrate arrived early morning this day."
"Good, I need to talk to him. Is he alone?"
A simple gesture was enough for her to walk forward and knock on the door.
She is early this morning, thought Greef who listened her voice from outside told her to enter.
"What the hell happened, Cara?" He inquired after looking at her briefly.
She refused to sit down on the chair he pointed out and leaned her back against the wall.
"What happened was the result of him being completely lost", she replied sighing.
"What!? Is it him? He managed to do this to you?"
"I was sleeping, otherwise it would never have happened."
For a moment a terrifying thought hit her friend.
"Don't tell me he did it..."
"On purpose? Of course not! Greef, how could you dare to ask ?! Now he's going to blame himself like he's confused enough already.I really want to help him, but to be honest, at this point, I don't see how I can.
Greef sank into his chair, joined his two hands on his abdomen and thought for a moment.
"Let me take care of him", Cara.
"What do you mean?" asked his friend not sure what he was saying.
" I mean, he will stay at my place this night."
Greef paused for a moment, then added.
"I know it's not easy, but you shouldn't worry so much, it's just a matter of time. He is leaving tomorrow."
"I think we did not understand each other, Greef. It's not only a matter of one day and one night. He is not leaving tomorrow, nor the day after. I'm sure of one thing, he won't leave until he will be himself again."
"But, Cara, that can't be. He gave his word," protested the old man, who knew how strong the Mandalorian's sense of honor was.
"I don't care! This is not even an option! I'm going to contact his new friend, just to convince her that a man on his condition will not help her in her little revolution. I want to believe she is not that stubborn or stupid. She will wait and she will survive."
Greef did not even try to argue with her. It was nothing but a waste of time.
"Do you really want to do that?" Cara asked after regaining her composure. "I assure you, it won't be easy. Even for someone who sleeps beside him."
Greef raised his eyebrows in surprise.
"So that's how it happened ?"
"Yeah."
"Well, at least I won't have to take that kind of risk. We will both do our best to manage the situation for as long as we need to," said the old man before asking.
"Let's talk about your case now. Any progress ?"
"I send them a request yesterday. I expect to get an answer by tonight."
"The sooner, the better. He really needs time to make his choice."
"Indeed," said Cara, before she had. I'll go back home by noon, I can't leave him alone for too long. We will come back soon after.
"Seems a good idea! I think I already know how I'm going to keep him busy today," Greef answered, smiling for the first time since the start of their conversation.
