Fitz stayed up most of the night thinking about Olivia. Was she the mystery lady? He read through all the emails, and there were so many similarities with Olivia and Jake.

Can't sleep. My best friend sleeps at my house because he doesn't like being alone at night. He's a wild sleeper. His brother takes him to school in the morning...anyways...I'm rambling...

My sister has been best friends with a guy forever. He is my best friend's brother...anyways...I'm rambling...

How could that be possible? The dates from the sender are the years Olivia was in high school. His first email was sent December 31, 1999. It was right after the party. Were they communicating 14 years apart? Was it a Y2K glitch? How could a technical error connect him to the future? If she was the mystery lady, he didn't know how to handle it. Angela and Jake would be upset if they had a friendship. Maybe he should stop communicating with the mystery lady. She wasn't responding to any of his messages.

The next day, Fitz leaned back in his chair and sent a message to the mystery lady. The class was taking a test, so he had a few minutes to spare. He knew she probably wasn't going to reply to his message. Why was he still trying to have a friendship with her? It didn't matter if the lady wasn't Olivia, Angela would not be okay with him daydreaming about another woman. Fitz knew Angela wanted to be more than a friend. He didn't know why she was always sending him mixed signals. He looked up from his phone when a car alarm sounded outside the window. Olivia quickly grabbed her keys and ran in the hall. Fitz sent a message, and he heard a phone chime.

"No phones during the test." Fitz said.

The class didn't look up to acknowledge him. He sent another message, and the phone chimed again. Jake looked at Olivia's phone and shrugged. He didn't reach for it. Fitz slowly left his desk and walked to Olivia's desk. Jake whispered, "She forgot her phone."

"Yeah, I know that."

Fitz picked up the phone, and he could see his messages on the screen. Olivia walked back in the class and paused when she saw him at her desk. The rest of the class didn't look up from their test. Fitz walked to the front of the class with her phone. "I need to speak to you in the hall."

"My phone. I'm sorry if it was ringing."

Fitz gave Olivia her phone, and her mouth dropped when she looked at the alerts. He knew.

"Now I know why I didn't get any replies."

"What was I supposed to say to you?"

"How about hey, it's Liv...or Livvie."

"You're my sister's best friend."

"I know and that makes this really awkward."

"Let's just...go."

"Back to class?"

"Yeah."

"Yeah, we should." Fitz said.
