Lysara's POV
Anakin and I traveled most of the day and would only stop if necessary to get information on where the Tusken Raider camp was. By the time we found the camp it was night. The two of us looked at the camp below us from a cliff. The camp itself was still most likely the inhabitants were asleep. Anakin told me to follow him and I did.
We both jumped off of the cliff and were unharmed from the fall. I relied on my wolf hearing while we moved around the camp.
"Here" I told the Padawan when I found a scent similar to his outside of a hut. Anakin nodded and he drew out his light saber and pushed the light blade into the Tusken hut. The wall was easily destroyed and Anakin slid inside first and I followed.
Inside tied up was a badly wounded Shmi Skywalker. Immediately I drew out one of my knives and let Anakin have the other. The knives were curved blades made out of obsidian and turquoise stones were embedded in the blades as well. I carefully cut the bindings that held Shmi. Once she was free did Anakin speak to his mother.
I stood up and turned away so mother and son could have a moment alone. While Anakin spoke with his dying mother I shed a few tears. My inner wolf whimpered in sadness. She then proceed to howl when Shmi took her last breath.
"I'm sorry Anakin" I told the Padawan.
Anakin didn't say anything and he closed his mother's eyes.
"Lysara will you guard her? There's something I must do"
I saw the rage and grief in his eyes and I nodded before going to my knees and I took Shmi's lifeless body into my arms. I then closed my eyes and heard Anakin leave the hut. Outside I heard him activate his light saber again and soon shrieks rang out. I opened my eyes and looked to Shmi while the chaos outside ensued. Without an explanation I promised her within my thoughts I would look after her son. Eventually things quieted down and Anakin came back into the hut.
"Thank you Lysara for guarding her"
He picked up Shmi into his arms and we made our departure from the now lifeless camp. While I followed the Padawan I saw the many lifeless bodies of the Tusken people. I also saw dead Tusken children which I turned away from.
I helped Anakin wrap his mother up so she could be buried properly. There wasn't room on the speeder we arrived on for three people. There was another and I decided to take it to head back to the moisture farm first. By the time Anakin and I arrived back at the farm the sun was already at its highest peak.
Padme came out of the sand igloo along with the Lars men and Beru. It was a sad moment to see Anakin get off of his speeder and carry his mother's lifeless body. Shmi was given a proper burial and those who knew her said their goodbyes. Afterwards Anakin disappeared no doubt wanting to be alone. I left him to grieve alone for a bit until Padme suggested I take some food to him.
I found the grieving Padawan inside one of the storage rooms. He was trying to fix something.
"I brought you some food in case you wanted to eat" I informed him setting the tray down.
"I'm good at fixing things" he spoke. "Always was"
Anakin then looked at to me.
"Why did she have to die?" he asked. "Why couldn't I save her? I know I could have"
He then turned away.
"We just didn't make in time" was my response. I was careful to not say anything to further upset him.
"Someday I will be the most powerful Jedi ever"
The Padawan turned to me again.
"I promise you I will even learn to stop people from dying, it's all Obi-Wan fault! He's jealous! He's holding me back!"
Anakin tossed something in anger.
Perhaps we would try and comfort him my wolf suggested.
Not right now I disagreed.
"Lysara you heard me kill the Tusken Raiders, all of them fell by my light saber, the men and women, even the children, their animals and I slaughtered them like animals, I hate them!"
More tears slid down Anakin's face and he sat down. When he did I placed my daggers on top of some machinery and called to the wolf within me.
Anakin's POV
I noticed Lysara's body beginning to change. A few seconds later a silver wolf with black markings stood in her place. The wolf's height was about R2's. This was the first time I've seen Lysara in her true form. The she-wolf approached me and she lay down. Her head rested in my lap and I realized this was Lysara's way of comforting me.
I began to stroke her furry head and I shed a few more tears. When my tears fell onto her fur Lysara whined. I sensed she too grieved for the loss of my mother even though she didn't know her.
Thank you Lysara for being by my side I thought.
Later.
"Obi-Wan made contact" Padme explained to me and Anakin as we rejoined her on her ship.
She then pulled up the projection of Obi-Wan before making sure the rest of the Jedi Council and others heard the message. Obi-Wan was able to track down the bounty hunter behind Padme's assassination attempts. The bastard was on Geonosis. There a droid army was being developed and Nute Gunray was another accomplice behind Padme's attacks on her life. The projection then showed Obi-Wan being ambushed and captured.
"Son of a bitch" I swore under my breath.
Windu ordered for Anakin to continue protecting Padme.
"I'm not going to stand around and wait for Obi-Wan to get killed" Padme growled.
"Padme you heard Master Windu I've been given strict orders"
"He gave you strict orders to protect me and I'm gonna help Obi-Wan"
I flashed the Padawan a smirk and he returned it before we hurriedly sat down for take off. Soon the ship rose from the sands of Tatooine and took off from its atmosphere into space.
Lol Padme is a badass XD.
