Morning light bashed into Xixi's eyes as she looks at the sun with a face that can only be described as less than pleasant. She moans, as she sits up she grumbles. She rubs her forehead as she feels a throbbing headache, she mutters curses under her breath.

"God fucking damn it… why must I wake up with a headache?" She mumbled.

She looks side to side and stands up, she can feel her feet slap the floor. She grunts and stands up; she looks at the mirror in her vanity. She sees her drool, her hair looks like she ran through a tornado, each strand of hair is standing up, her eye bags are clearly seen. She sighs as she rubs her hair as she sets it in her usual ponytail. She walks outside and she immediately sees Tails, his golden fur is all sticking out his iconic tuft of fur is every which way and his namesakes, which are usually kept properly brushed and tidy are very fluffy. They both have the same expression, they look at each other and they both grumble as they walk downstairs.

Flare seems to have had a good rest, he says "Good morning-"

He is immediately cut off by Tails hissing and spitting, Flare backs up and looks slightly scared as he thought "Geez, he must've had a pretty bad dream, he looks like a disaster…" He shakes his head and rubs his head and nervously laughs as he walks into the kitchen to make breakfast. Xixi moans quietly as she goes downstairs. She inevitably flops on the couch and starts sleeping again, Tails not wanting to wait any longer runs over to his workshop and begins working on something to revive Cosmo. He needed as much time as he wanted. He wasn't sure when she would be alive once again. But he knew he had to do it now rather than later.

"The more I wait the more anxious Cosmo might become…"

He thinks as he grabs a wrench and begins by screwing bolts with the leftovers of the tornado he had when repairing it for the 700ᵀᴴ time. He sighs and wipes sweat off of his forehead as he grabs a PVC tube, very gently connects it to the wall screwing it in the wall ever so gently to not ruin his progress. He sighs softly and puts his gloved hand on his chin, he looks around in his workshop to see what he can do to make Cosmo come alive and well. He then runs over to the room he set up in Xixi's Castle. He shuffles things in his drawers and finds a little flask his eyes widen as he looks at the flask in wonder.

"OF COURSE! How could I forget I had this?!" He thinks to himself, his heart rate accelerates as he runs, He then trips on his shoelace and falls forward and smacks his muzzle causing him to squeak out of pain. He hears a frantic patterning of feet along with panting. He feels two hands grab him with a gentle grip. A female voice, with the gentleness of a seraph, lands on his massive ears.

"Are you alright?! I heard you squeal out of pain!"

Tails groans.

"I'm fine, I just got too excited about something."

Xixi sighs out of pure consolation.

"You scared me, Tails, please don't do that ever again. I don't have much control over my emotions."

Tails looks at Xixi, her beautiful purple eyes twinkle with concern. Tails sighs softly, he purrs softly with a smile in the shape of a three. He very gently rubs his fluffy head against Xixi's stomach.

Xixi sighs softly

"Tails is a sweet child, I can help but wonder...who would abandon such a sweet child?"

She thought. She looks at Tails, his golden fur makes him seem like a child angel straight from the highest courts of heaven, his beautiful electric blue eyes seem to accentuate his all-around handsomeness he seems to naturally possess.

"Hey, Tails...have you ever met your real mother or father?"

Tails stiffens, he started to seem uncomfortable with the question he was asked as he started making noises that could be described as distressed or uncomfortable. He starts sweating and stutters out "W-well I...uh…" His heartbeat quickens as he frantically tries to think of an excuse, Xixi's face immediately whitens, and her ears droop.

"You-you! Don't have to tell me! It's okay!"

She said in a straight panic, she gently sets Tails on the nearby couch and backs away, she seems so guilty about making Tails panic.

A few minutes later,

Tails has calmed down after the panic he went through, he takes a deep breath and sighs. He looks at Xixi and with a smoll smile, he says,

"I'm sorry for making you feel worried. It's just nobody asked me this before, I was told my mother had died due to giving birth to me, and my father had abandoned me due to...well, you can probably see why."

Xixi looks at his namesakes, each expertly brushed to the point of looking shiny and in order.

"But why would someone abandon this child over something so insignificant as a birth defect that wasn't even his fault?"

Xixi thought as she looks back at Tails, his beautiful electric blue eyes appear to water, his breathing became unstable, as the tears flowed down to his fluffy cheeks. Xixi gasps, she gently uses her thumb to try and stop Tails' tears from flowing. Tails looks at Xixi with tears still flooding his eyes. He starts sobbing loudly hugging Xixi with a tight grip as he cries loudly into the endless castle's halls.

"Why don't my parents love me?!"

He yelled, in complete agony. He continues crying for what seems days, months even.

Xixi then does something surprising, she grabs Tails' head in the middle of his crying fit, and she kisses Tails on the forehead, Tails stops for a moment, he sniffles and wipes his eyes with his gloved hand.

"Did-did...you just kiss me?"

Tails stutters, flabbergasted, he seems to be surprised. He sniffles again thinking about that gesture.

"Come to think of it...did Sonic ever kiss me the way Xixi has? I can't remember…"

He speculates.

Tails gaze back at Xixi, Xixi has a gentle smile, her eyes are closed and she giggles.

"Not used to being kissed?"

She said, with a tone of a mother comforting her child.

"N-no...come to think of it, nobody ever kissed me the way you did, apart from someone I remember, but I got used to them kissing me."

Xixi smiles, she hugs him and gently settles her head on Tails' head.

"Well...I guess it's because I get it from my mom."

Xixi whispered, she blinks feeling tears welled up in her eyes, which causes her to breathe with a fluctuation. She blinks again and sniffles she sighs

"So sor-"

Xixi is cut off by soft snoring coming from where Tails was sitting, she looks down and sees Tails sleeping comfortably in her arms.

"Awww, sweet child. I'll never let you feel pain ever again."

Xixi whispered gently in his ear, she shifts herself in a sleeping position, Tails snuggly close to her with her arm wrapped around his tiny body. She slowly falls asleep and with the help of her comforting Tails starts purring in his sleep.

Flare sees them, he smiles and sits next to them, he uses his hand as a support for his head as he falls into a deep slumber thanks to Tails' purring.
