I don't own RWBY. I own OC's.
Sorry if you find any grammar mistakes. I'm still learning English because it's not my first language.
WiltedGalaxy17: I'm glad you're liking it so far! :)
David and team RWBY were walking through the streets of a more decorated Vale, with the stores, buildings and many other things representing the approaching Vytal Festival. Various colored streamers and ballons were proudly put on display. Even one shopkeeper they passed by was in the process of hanging a sign "WELCOME TO VALE" for all the students and tourists which were going to come to Vale during the Vytal Festival.
Weiss was walking in front of the group of five, leading them through the city, eyeing her surroundings in awe and excitement.
"The Vytal Festival!" She exclaimed in pure glee, "Oh, this is absolutely wonderful!"
"I don't think I've ever seen you smile this much, Weiss." Ruby frowned a little, weirded out by how excited Weiss was, "It's kinda weirding me out…"
"Yeah, me too. I haven't seen you this excited since I met you." David agreed with Ruby, "It's very, very weird."
Weiss turned around to look at them, "How could you not smile? A festival dedicated to the cultures of the world! There will be dances! Parades! A tournament! Oh, the amount of planning and organization that goes into this event is simply breathtaking!"
Yang crossed her arms and sighed, "You really know how to take a good thing and make it sound boring."
Weiss glared at her, "Quiet, you!"
The group continued to make their way through the decorated city and eventually made their way to the docks and quickly spotted a single ship that had just arrived.
A bored expression formed on Yang's facial features as she set her gaze on the ship, "Remind me again why we're spending our Friday afternoon visiting the stupid docks?"
Ruby cringed at the smell and covered her nose, "Ugh, they smell like fish!"
"I've heard that students visiting from Vacuo will be arriving by ship today." Weiss explained as she turned around to look at her team and her roommate with a proud smile on her face, "And, as a representative of Beacon, I feel as though it is my solemn duty to welcome them to this fine kingdom!"
Blake crossed her arms as she quickly saw through Weiss' lie, "She wants to spy on them so she'll have the upper hand in the tournament."
Weiss turned to look at the raven haired girl, exclaiming in a lying tone, "You can't prove that!""
"Yeah." A small grin formed on David's lips, nodding his head, "That's definitely the reason why she wanted to come here."
Weiss' eye twitched a bit, "You don't have anything to prove that statement!"
Ruby turned away from her friends and spotted a destroyed dust shop a few meters on their right, "Whoa."
The rest of the group heard her and came over to her, spotting the same destroyed dust shop. They started walking towards the dust shop, wanting to get a closer look on the scene. They stopped in front of a police line and saw two detectives investing the dust shop.
The leader of team RWBY turned to look at the nearest detective who was writing something in his notebook, asking him, "What happened here?"
"Robbery. Second Dust shop to be hit this week." The Detective responded before turning away from them, beginning to walk over to his partner, "This place is turning into a jungle."
Yang sighed sadly, watching the detective walk away, "That's terrible."
Ruby titled her head towards the second detective on the crime scene, curiously when she heard him speak up to his partner, "They left all the money again."
"Yeah, just doesn't make a lick of sense. Who needs that much Dust?" The first detective asked the moment he approached his partner.
The second detective shrugged, "I don't know, an army?"
"You thinking the White Fang?" The first detective suggested.
His partner removed his sunglasses, "Yeah, I'm thinking we don't get paid enough."
Weiss huffed in disgust at the mention of the White Fang, "Hmph! The White Fang. What an awful bunch of degenerates!"
"What's your problem?" Blake frowned at her comment as David exchanged a glance with Ruby who seemed to become quite nervous by this situation.
Weiss turned to look at her, "My problem? I simply don't care for the criminally insane."
"The White Fang is hardly a bunch of psychopaths." Blake crossed her arms, "They're a collection of misguided Faunus."
"Misguided?" Weiss argued back, "They want to wipe Humanity off the face of the planet!"
She didn't had to wait for Blake to respond, "So then they're very misguided. Either way, it doesn't explain why they would rob a Dust shop in the middle of downtown Vale!"
"How about we just calm down?" David asked them, wanting to stop this argument before it'll escalate into something larger. He turned his gaze towards Ruby, "I recall Ruby mentioning this Torchwick guy who was robbing the dust shop when she was telling me how she ended up in Beacon. I can't recall her telling me that he got caught."
"David's right." Ruby agreed, "The police never caught that Torchwick guy I ran into a few months ago. Maybe it was him."
"That still doesn't change the fact that the White Fang are a bunch of scum." Weiss pointed out which made Blake even more angered than she already was, "Those Faunus only know how to lie, cheat, and steal."
"That's not necessarily true..." Yang came in her partner's defense.
"Hey!" An unknown male voice cried out from the distance, "Stop that Faunus!"
The group of five quickly started running in the direction from which the shout came from, intending to see what was going on. They stopped in front of the railing and saw two sailors chasing after a blond haired monkey faunus who leaped on top of the edge of the ship.
"Thanks for the ride, guys!" He cheerfuly yelled out to the two sailors before jumping down and landing on the dock. He pushed himself into run just a second after.
"You no-good stowaway!" One of the sailors shouted at him with frustation obvious in his voice.
The monkey faunus leaped himself upwards at the nearest lamp. He used his tail to hang down the lamp while peeling a banana, "Hey! A no-good stowaway would've been caught! I'm a great stowaway!"
He was about to eat his banana but stopped himself from doing so when the two detectives that team RWBY and David saw just a few moments ago approached him, with one of them speaking up to the monkey boy, "Hey! Get down from there this instant!"
In response to the detective's words, the monkey faunus dropped banana peel on his face, causing him to growl in anger. The blond haired faunus laughed before jumping off the lamp. He turned around at the detectives, sending both of them a quick smirk before breaking himself into run. The two detectives ran after him as the monkey faunus made his way up the stairs and ran past the group of students from Beacon.
Blake noticed how his eyes went up to her bow when he ran past her. He send her a knowing grin and winked at her before running into the town as the two detectives continued to chase him.
"Say what you want about this guy." David gestured in the direction that the monkey faunus just went, as he was in awe of all the flips and jumps the monkey faunus just did, "But, he knows some good moves."
Weiss turned to look at her roommate, "Are you serious, David? He just broke the law and is avoiding arrest!"
David just gave her a sheepish smile and a shrug of his shoulders in response as Yang pointed out right after, "Well, Weiss, you wanted to see the competition, and there it goes..."
"Quick!" Weiss declared right after as she raised her index finger in the air, "We must observe him!"
She pushed himself into run after the monkey boy as David, Ruby and Yang quickly followed her. Blake remained where she stood for a few seconds, thinking about the monkey faunus that just ran past them, before eventually breaking herself into run as well, following her team and her roommate. Weiss who was running in front of the group of five rounded around the corner when she saw how the monkey boy and the detectives went around and bumped into someone.
She fell on top of this person as Ruby, David, Yang and Blake catched up to her, now standing behind her. She quickly looked up to see the monkey faunus jumping out of her view.
"No!" She cried out, staring ahead at the area where the monkey faunus was just a few seconds ago, "He got away!"
"Really?" David asked her, sarcasm evident in his tone, "Haven't noticed it. It's not like we're standing right behind you."
Weiss looked up at him and rolled her eyes at his sarcastic comment, "Quiet, you!"
"Uh, Weiss." Yang called out to her teammate, pointing in her direction.
Weiss turned her gaze away from her teammates and roommate and glanced down, wanting to know at what Yang was pointing at. She saw a smilling orange haired girl who seemed to be around her age laying underneath her, literally an inch away from her face. The white haired girl was startled by it and quickly got herself back on her feet.
The orange haired girl looked up at them with a friendly smile, not caring that she was still laying on the ground, "Sal-u-ta-tions!"
Ruby responded with an awkward, "Um... hello."
"Are you... okay?" Yang asked the orange haired girl.
"I'm wonderful!" The orange haired girl answered, her smile not leaving her lips, "Thank you for asking."
Team RWBY and David exchanged a look of bewilderment with each other before David spoke up to the girl, "Are you going to get up?"
"...Yes!" Penny responded after a moment of thought before leaping herself back on her feet, "My name is Penny! It's a pleasure to meet you!"
"Hi, Penny." Ruby said in response to Penny's introduction, politely, "I'm Ruby."
"Weiss" Weiss introduced herself right after.
David followed, offering Penny a small wave, "David."
"Blake." Blake introduced herself right after him.
"Are you sure you didn't hit your head?" Yang asked instead of introducing herself, causing Blake to hit her in the stomach, "Oh, I'm Yang."
"It's a pleasure to met you!" Penny introduced herself again, not realizing that she was repeating herself.
"You already said that." Weiss pointed out.
Penny paused and narrowed her eyes. She was silent for a few seconds before the realization appeared in her mind, "So I did!"
"Well, sorry for running into you!" Weiss apologized to Penny for running into her, turning away from the said orange haired girl, along with the rest of her team and David.
"Take care, friend." Ruby offered Penny a small wave before turning away from her, not seeing how Penny's eyes snapped open right after hearing her words.
The group of five took several steps away from Penny before Yang voiced her thoughts about Penny, "She was... weird."
David rubbed the back of his head as the question that flew through his mind, "Is this what it was when you guys met me back in the Emerald Forest when I had no idea what was going on around me?"
"No." Yang shook her head, "That situation was confusing to us as much as it was to you."
"Now, where did that Faunus riff-raff run off to?" Weiss asked, looking around herself, attempting to spot the monkey faunus again.
Her eyes widened in suprise when Penny appeared right in front of her out of thin air, asking, "...What did you call me?"
Weiss started looking back and forth, trying to figure out how Penny found herself in front of her and the rest in such short amount of time as Yang send Penny an apologetic look, "Oh, I'm really sorry, I definitely didn't think you heard me!"
"No, not you." Penny shook her head before walking through the group towards Ruby. She stopped in front of the dark haired girl and leaned her head down towards her, "You."
Ruby was starled and confused, having no idea why Penny wanted to talk with her, "Me? I-I don't know. I, what I, um, uh...""
"You called me 'friend'! Am I really your friend?" Penny asked in a very hopeful tone, her face inches away from Ruby's face.
"Ummm." Ruby had no idea how to reply to Penny's question. She looked over Penny's shoulder to look at her team and David. All four of them shook their heads, "...Y-Yeah, sure! Why not?"
"Sensational!" Penny cheered, throwing her hands in the air, "We can paint our nails, try on clothes and talk about cute boys like your friend over there!"
Ruby leaned towards Weiss with a confused look on her face, "Oh, is this what it was like when you met me?"
"No." Weiss replied, "She seems far more coordinated."
"I'm cute?" David asked Penny, pointing at himself, "I'm sorry but your standards must be low if you think I'm cute."
"So..." Yang began, earning Penny's attention, "What are you doing in Vale?"
The orange haired girl turned to look at her, "I'm here to fight in the tournament."
"Wait, you're fighting in the tournament?" Weiss asked, not even trying to hide how suprised she was by this revelation.
Penny nodded and saluted, "I'm combat ready!"
Weiss held up her hands, "Forgive me, but you hardly look the part."
"Says the girl wearing a dress." David and Blake pointed out at the same time, almost in unison, before exchanging glance with each other, suprised that they said the same thing at the same time.
"It's a combat shirt." Weiss corrected them in a stern tone as Ruby activated her semblance and used it to make her way to her teammate.
"Yeah." The two girls slapped each other's hands, agreeing that their clothing was a combat shirt, not a dress.
"...Wait a minute." Weiss said after a moment when the realization hit her. She walked over to Penny and grabbed her by her shoulders, "If you're here for the tournament, does that mean you know that monkey-tailed... rapscallion?"
Ruby and Yang cringed at Weiss's words as David shook his head because his white haired roommate just went straight back to the topic he hoped she was done with.
Penny titled her head in confusion, "The who...?"
"We're still on that?" David asked, but his question went without answer, "I thought we were done with this topic."
Out of nowhere, Weiss pulled out a poorly made drawing of the monkey faunus they saw a few moments ago, ignoring David's question, "The filthy Faunus from the boat!"
Blake glared at the Schnee, "Why do you keep saying that?"
Weiss shifted her attention from Penny to Blake, "Huh?"
Blake came closer to her, "Stop calling him a rapscallion! Stop calling him a degenerate! He's a person!"
"Oh, I'm sorry." Weiss said as she let go off Penny and motioned to the nearest trash can, "Would you like me to stop referring to the trash can as a trash can? Or this lamppost as a lamppost?"
"Stop it!" Blake demanded.
"Stop what?" Weiss asked her, "He clearly broke the law. Give him time; he'll probably join up with those other Faunus in the White Fang!"
"You ignorant little brat!"" Blake growled, clenching her fist in anger.
She turned away from Weiss and started walking away her as Weiss watched her leave for a few seconds, outright offended, before following her, "How dare you talk to me like that! I am your teammate!"
"You are a judgmental little girl." Blake pointed out in anger.
This only angered Weiss even more, "What in the world makes you say that?"
"The mere fact that you would sort that Faunus boy with a terrorist group solely based on his species makes you just as much of a scoundrel as you believe him to be!" Blake explained.
Yang watched the entire argument with uncomfortable look on her face, "Um, I think we should probably go..."
David send Ruby and Yang an assuring look, hoping that what was he going to say to them will turn out to be true, "Don't worry, you two. I'm sure that they'll argue for a few minutes and it'll be all over."
He really wanted to believe his words. He really did. So did Ruby and Yang, because otherwise it was going to a long day.
Ruby wished that David was right.
Yang wished that David was right.
David wished that he was right.
Blake and Weiss continued to argue over to the same topic for hours and none of them had idea when they were going to stop. Yang and Ruby just watched their teammates argue as David lay on his bed, between his arguing roommates. He tried to listen to the music on his music device, but even his favourite songs couldn't drown out the sounds of the argument between his two roommates.
"I don't understand why this is causing such a problem!" Weiss yelled out to Blake.
Blake responded with, "That is the problem!"
Weiss got up from her bed and crossed her arms, "You realize you are defending an organization that hates Humanity, don't you? The Faunus of the White Fang are pure evil!"
"There's no such thing as pure evil!" Blake argued, standing up from her bed shorty after, "Why do you think they hate Humanity so much? It's because of people like Cardin, people like you, that force the White Fang to take such drastic measures!"
"People like me?" Weiss asked in disbelief.
"You're discriminatory!" Blake stated.
"I'm a victim!" Weiss declared, causing Blake to stop her ranting, wanting to know what her white haired teammate had to say. Weiss leaned in, closer to Blake and spoke up to her, this time much more quietly, "You want to know why I despise the White Fang? Why I don't particularly trust the Faunus?" She walked over to the opened window and placed her right hand on top of the shelf standing behind David's bed, "It's because they've been at war with my family for years. War, as in actual bloodshed. My grandfather's company has had a target painted across its back for as long as I can remember. And ever since I was a child, I've watched family friends disappear; board members executed; an entire train car full of Dust, stolen. And every day, my father would come home, furious. And that made for a very difficult childhood."
She clenched her fist and slammed it down on the shelf in anger as Ruby moved over to Weiss, intending to comfort her partner, "Weiss, I..."
"No." Weiss cut Ruby off before her partner could say anything. She moved away from the window and came over to Blake with a furious look on her face, "You want to know why I despise the White Fang? It's because they're a bunch of liars, thieves, and murderers!"
"Maybe we were just tired of being pushed around!" Blake snapped.
Weiss backed away from Blake right after hearing those words, her eyes widening as she was shocked by what her raven haired teammate just told her, Ruby stared at her in shock, Yang gasped loudly and David's eyes snapped open as he sat up on his bed and looked up at Blake. She used to be a part of the White Fang?
Blake looked around herself, seeing how everyone was looking at her in shock, as if she had just realized what she just said and what she just revelead to her teammates and roommate, "I..."
She didn't even said anything to them before sprinting out of their dorm with speed that would make even Ruby jealous, leaving her teammates and roommates shocked and confused over what just happened.
Ruby pushed herself into run after her, "Blake, wait! Come back!"
She rushed out of the dorm, hoping to catch up to Blake as Weiss, Yang and David remained inside. Yang sat down on the nearest chair, Weiss remained where she stood, staring at the now opened exit from their dorm as David laid back down on his bed, and rubbed his hand against his forehead, staring up at the ceiling.
This day clearly just went from bad to much, much worse.
The weekend has passed and Blake still hasn't returned to team RWBY's dorm after the argument between her and Weiss which ended up with revelation that she used to be a member of the White Fang. At this moment, Ruby, Yang, Weiss and David were walking through the empty streets of Vale, but unfortunely, so far, Blake was nowhere to be seen.
"Blaaaake!" Ruby shouted at the top of her lungs, "Blaaaaaaaake! Where aaaare yoooouuuu!?"
"Where the heck is she?" Yang asked.
"Vale is a big city." David stated, walking next to her, "We'd be pretty lucky if we found her right after starting our search."
Ruby stopped calling out for her teammate turned to look at Weiss who was the only one from their group that was silent, "Weiiiiss, you're not helping!"
"Oh! You know what might be able to help?!" Weiss declared, not helping as much because she was still salty over what happened with Blake not that long ago, "The police!"
Ruby crossed her arms in irritation, "Ugh, Weiss..."
David rolled his eyes, "Here we go again."
"It was just an idea!" Weiss pointed out.
"Yeah, a bad one." Ruby pointed out in return.
"Maybe hearing it wouldn't be as irritating if you didn't repeat it over and over again since Blake went missing." David added, making Ruby nod in agreement.
"Weiss, I think we should hear her side of the story before we jump to any conclusions." Yang stated to which Ruby and David nodded in agreement.
"I think that when we hear it, you'll all realize I was right!" Weiss stated, sticking with her point.
"...And I think Weiss' hair looks wonderful today!" A familiar voice rang behind them.
"GAH!" Ruby shrieked in suprise at the familiar voice that rang through her ears, turning around to the source of it along with her friends to see a smilling Penny, "Penny! Where did you come from!?"
Penny waved at them, greeting them cheerfully, "Hey, guys! What are up to?"
"We're looking for Blake." David explained, "You know, the girl that was with us the last time when we saw you."
Penny was silent for a few seconds before realizing to who David was referring to, "Ooooh, you mean the Faunus girl!"
"...Wait, how did you know that?" Ruby asked after a few seconds of silence with suprise obvious in her tone. She, Yang, Weiss and David stared at the strangeorange haired girl, suprised that she that knew about Blake being a faunus quicker than they did.
Penny pointed at her head, "Uhh, the cat ears?"
"What cat ears? She wears a..." Yang's eyes widened in realization, "...Oh."
"...She does like tuna a lot." Ruby whispered to David after a few seconds of complete silence.
"A lot?" David whispered back to her as the images of Blake eating her tuna as if it was her last meal flew through his mind, "That's a gentle way of putting it."
"So, where is she?" Penny asked them.
"We don't know." Ruby shook her head, "She's been missing since Friday."
Penny gasped as she approached Ruby and grabbed her by her arms, making the leader of team RWBY uncomfortable, "That's terrible! Well, don't you worry Ruby, my friend! I won't rest until we find your teammate!"
"Uh, that's really nice of you, Penny, but we're okay! Really!" Ruby gave Penny an uncomfortable smile before as the orange haired girl let go off her. The dark haired girl looked over her shoulder to look at her friends, "Right guys!"
She saw that Yang and Weiss were nowhere to be seen and David was the only one left standing. He turned his gaze to his side and his eyes snapped open in suprise because Weiss and Yang were nowhere to be seen. How did they left so quickly that he didn't even noticed?
"What?" He asked, confused, "They were standing right behind me a second ago."
Ruby sighed, "Maybe it will be better if we split up in groups. Perharps we'll find Blake faster that way."
"Good idea, Red" David nodded his head, agreeing with the idea, "You'll go with Penny while I'll go by myself. We'll have bigger chance if we'll be in three groups."
"But what if you'll get lost?' Ruby asked.
"You don't need to worry about that, Red. This isn't my first time out in the Vale." David gave his roommate an assuring nod of his head as he pulled his scroll out of his pocket and turned on the map of Vale, "And if I'll get lost, I can always check where I am on the map."
"Alright." Ruby nodded her head, "You can always call me, If you'll change your mind."
"I'll make sure to keep that in mind, Red." David said as he turned away from them started walking in the opposite direction, "Good luck with finding Blake."
David let out a sigh as he looked around his surroundings, trying to spot Blake anywhere, but his raven haired roommate was nowhere to be seen. He wondered if his roommates had more luck than he had. He knew that his roommates had as much of a chance of finding Blake as he had, well, maybe it was a little higher, because they knew Vale more than he did, but it wouldn't hurt to ask, right?
He pulled out his scroll and was about to call Ruby, intending to ask her if she had more luck than he did, but was stopped from doing so when he bumped into someone.
He looked up from his scroll and saw a short girl standing in front of him. She was looking down at the ice cream she must have dropped on the sidewalk when he bumped into her. She looked up at him after a few seconds and glared at him, revealing her differently colored eyes to him. He has never met anyone with heterochromia in real life before.
David gulped after seeing the look that the girl in front of him send him. She looked like she was going to skin him alive. He raised his hands in the air defensively, "Relax. It's just an ice cream. You can always buy yourself another one..."
He didn't even had a chance to finish what he was saying as she grabbed him by his hand, causing him to almost drop his scroll and started dragging him somewhere, presumably towards the place where she bought her ice cream. David had to admit. He was suprised by how strong her grip was.
"Hey." He called out to her, "Where are we going?"
He received no answer from her. She only turned back to look at him for a second, giving him another glare before turning back towards their destination. They didn't walk for long. It was just a matter of several seconds before an ice cream shop appeared on David's view. She opened the entrance to the shop and dragged him inside, stopping in front of the counter.
She let go off his hand as David moved it closer to himself and rubbed it with his other hand, "You want to me to buy you an ice cream?"
She responded with a look on her face that said, "Do you really have to ask?"
David sighed. He looked at the guy on the other side of the counter and pointed at the unknown girl standing next to him, "One ice cream for her please. You'll have to ask her what kind, because I have no idea what flavor she likes."
"I don't need to ask her." The guy behind the counter shrugged, "She's a regular here."
David nodded his head as the guy behind the counter went to do his job. He returned to them several seconds later, now holding the same ice cream that the girl was holding before he bumped into her. She immiedately turned her gaze away from him and grabbed the ice cream from the guy behind the couter and dug in, causing David's eyes to widen in suprise because she was eating it as if it was going to be her last meal.
He turned his gaze away from her towards the guy behind the counter who simply shrugged his shoulders to that. He must have already seen this before and have gotten used to it. He was about to return to his duties but stopped when David spoke up to him again, "You know, I think I'll have some too."
"Alright." The guy behind the counter nodded, "Which flavor do you want?"
"I'll go with nothing unusual, vanilla." David answered with a small shrug of his shoulders, as he placed some lien on the counter, paying for his order. It wouldn't change anything if he took a small few minute break, right?
The guy behind the counter nodded his head and turned around to get the new order done. David didn't wait for long to get his ice cream. Only several seconds had to pass until he was holding his vanilla ice cream in his right hand. He was about to taste it but stopped himself from doing so when he saw from the corner of his eye how this girl was proceeded to eat her ice cream as if it was her last meal.
She must have noticed that she was staring at him because she stopped eating her ice cream and typed something on her scroll, "What are you looking at?"
David shook his head and let out a sigh. It wouldn't hurt if he tried to start a conversation with her to break this awkward silence, "At you. I figured out that I should say that I'm sorry, for making you drop your ice cream."
The girl turned her gaze away from him before reaching out to her scroll with her free hand to type something, "Don't dwell on it. You bought me my ice cream back, so I guess this makes us even."
"Alright." David nodded his head to that, "I'm David, by the way."
"Neo." The girl introduced herself to him, as David titled his head to the side a bit, wondering why she was typing everything on her scroll, with realization already forming in his head. Neo didn't fail to notice this and quickly typed on her scroll, "I assume that you're wondering why am I typing everything on my scroll?"
"Because you're mute?" David answered in a more of a asking manner, saying the first answer that appeared in his mind.
Neo nodded her head in confirmation before typing, "Yes. I'm using my scroll because it is always easier to communicate through it because most of the people don't know sing language."
"You wouldn't be the first person I met to do so." David stated as Neo looked at him, curiously when he mentioned that person, "A friend of me is seeing a mute girl, at least he was the last time I saw him. It's been a while since I was in touch with him. His girlfriend was always carrying a whiteboard with herself. Good thing she did, though, because the only person that knew sign language was that friend of mine, and the only word in sign language that I know is "bullshit"."
Neo deadpanned when David mentioned the only in the sing language that he knows as she typed, "Are you serious? Out of all words you could learn, you decided to learn this one?"
"Yup." David nodded his head in confirmation, offerin her a quick smile, as he signed "bullshit" to show to her that he could say that word in the sign language.
Neo stared at him for a few seconds, unamused, before typing, "Where did you learned it?"
"I saw it in a movie once." David explained. He didn't mention the title of the movie because it was obvious to him that she wouldn't know about it. He had no idea if Remnant had it's version of Creed, "It just stuck in my mind since I watched it for some reason."
Neo nodded her head in response to his words before pointing her free hand at David's ice cream. He turned to look at his hand to see that his ice cream began to melt.
"I should probably start eating it." He voiced his thoughts, causing Neo to look at him as if it was the most obvious statement she heard in her entire life. He licked it and his eyes snapped open because of how good this ice cream was, "Holy crap! This is the best ice cream I had in a long time."
A small smile formed on Neo's lips when she saw how David reacted when he tasted his ice cream. She grabbed her scroll and held it out to him several seconds later, giving him a good look at what she had written there, "I know. That's why this place is my favourite one in the entire Vale. I know that I won't be disappointed of I'll eat here because I would burn this place to the ground if they messed up my order."
"Burn this place to the ground?" David repeated what she wrote in her scroll, "You really like ice cream this much?"
Neo crossed her arms, her look saying, "Do you really need to ask?"
"Can't say I blame you. I would be angry too if someone messed up something I like." David shrugged as a few things flew through his mind when he said those words.
He and Neo continued to exchange words with each other for a few more minutes while eating their ice cream before parting ways. Neo had to head out to do her own thing and David had to return to what he was doing before he accidentally bumped into her.
Right after he said his goodbyes to her, he felt how she grabbed his hand, preventing him from exiting the place and once again suprising him once again with how strong her grip was. He looked at her with questioning look on his face and received his answer when she reached for his scroll and took it from him before typing something on it.
Before he had a chance to ask her what she was doing, she returned the scroll to him and gave him a small wave of her glowed hand. David offered her a small wave in return before walking out of the ice creem shop, entering the streets. He started making his way along the street, looking down to see what just she typed on his scroll. It was a scroll number.
His eyes widened a bit suprise. She actually gave him her number. This wasn't how he was excepting it to end considering that at first she looked like she wanted to kill him, but this suprise was a welcome one. He enjoyed talking with her. But on the second thought, she could have given him some fake number or a number to someone else to mess with him.
There was only one way to find out but he decided to check that later. Right now he was wanted to focus on finding his missing roommate. He was about to put the scroll in his pocket but stopped himself from doing so when a realization appeared n his mind. He had to give this contact a name otherwise he wouldn't know whose number it was.
He thought for a few moments before an idea appeared in his mind.
"The Ice Cream Gremlin"
He smirked to himself, "Perfect."
He placed his scroll back in his pocket and returned his entire attention back to his search for Blake. He didn't walk for long before his eyes spotted a familiar person standing in front of a shop. He narrowed his eyes, wanting to make sure if he was seeing correctly. It was Yang who was standing all by herself. Weiss must have been inside, either buying something or asking the people there if they saw Blake.
He quickly made his way to Yang and offered her a quick, "Hey, Yang."
"Hey." His blond haired roommate turned to look at him, "What are you doing here? I thought you were with my sis and Penny."
"We split up shorty after the two of you left." David explained, "We thought that finding her might be easier if we split up into smaller groups. I went by myself and she went with Penny. Did you have any luck with finding Blake?"
"No." Yang shook her head, "We asked several people if they saw her and they all replied that they didn't. What about you?"
"No luck either." David answered, "She just disappeared without a trace."
"What are your thoughts about it?" Yang asked him another question, "About Blake and everything that happened?"
"To be honest, I'm of the same opinion as you." David replied, "I think we should hear what she has to say before we'll jump into conclusions."
Yang nodded her head before both of them turned their attention towards the entrance to the store when they heard someone open it, already knowing who it was going to be. It was Weiss, just like they excepted.
"Did they saw her?" Yang asked her teammate as Weiss closed the doors behind her.
"No." Weiss shook her head, nonchalantly before turning to look at David, "I thought you were with Ruby and Penny?"
"We split up to look for Blake in groups shorty after you two left without any of us noticing." David gave Weiss the same explanation as he did to Yang when she asked him the same question, "I just happened to run into Yang."
Weiss nodded her head and walked past David and Yang, looking around herself, nonchalantly which her friends didn't fail to notice. Yang crossed her arms, "You really don't care if we find her, do you?"
"Don't be stupid, of course I do. I'm just afraid of what she'll say when we find her." Weiss explained as she looked over her shoulder at her friends for a second, before turning his gaze back at the sidewalk ahead of her, "The innocent never run, guys!"
David and Yang exchanged a look with each other, before following Weiss.
They still had a few hours of searching ahead of them before they will have to return to Beacon. Hopefully either their group or Ruby's group will find their missing friend.
Yang, Weiss and David continued to search for their missing friend for hours and unfortunely Blake was still nowhere to be found. Fortunely Ruby turned out to be much luckier than they were, when she called her sister and informed them that she and Penny found Blake in the docks and that they need to hurry, before turning her scroll off when an explosion rang in the background.
They already knew where to find Blake and knew that they had to hurry if they wanted to help her and Ruby with the situation that they found themselves in, but then another problem arose. There were a few docks in Vale and Ruby didn't had time to specify to what dock they should go to which left them with the only way. They had to check every dock in Vale, hoping that this will be the right one.
It took them as much time as they thought it will take and they were utterly exhausted when they arrived at the right one and by the time they arrived, the fight was already over and the place was filled with police. It didn't took them long to spot Blake and Ruby. They were sitting on the crates along with Penny and the blond haired monkey faunus that they saw a few days ago.
"There you are." David said, earning the attention of the group of four who turned their attention towards him, Yang and Weiss.
"We've been looking anywhere for you." Yang added, tiredly.
"I told you we were at the docks." Ruby pointed out, standing up from the crate along with the rest of her group.
"You didn't specify which dock." David pointed out in return, "We had to check every dock in Vale and this takes time."
Ruby was about to reply to David's words but quickly changed her choice of words when she saw Weiss walking towards Blake, "Look Weiss, it's not what you think, she explained the whole thing. See, she doesn't actually have a bow, she has kitty ears and they're actually kind of cute..."
Weiss ignored what her partner was saying to her and walked over to Blake. Blake locked her eyes with her teammate who stopped in front of her and spoke to her, "Weiss, I want you to know that I'm no longer associated with the White Fang. Back when I was with the..."
"Stop!" Weiss cut her off, "Do you have any idea of how long we've been searching for you? Twelve hours. That means I've had twelve hours to think about this. And in that twelve hours, I've decided..." She paused for a moment and took one step towards Blake as Ruby, Yang, David and the monkey faunus watched the conversation between them in worry, "I don't care."
"You don't care?" Blake asked her, suprised.
"You said you're not one of them anymore, right?" Weiss asked her in return.
"No, I-I haven't been since I was younger..." Blake stuttered out.
"Ah-bah-bah-bah-bah! I don't want to hear it." Weiss cut her off again, "All I want to know is that the next time something this big comes up... you'll come to your teammates and someone else."
Blake looked over Weiss's shoulder and saw Ruby, Yang and David smilling at her. She wiped a tear from her eye and nodded her head, "Of course."
Weiss nodded her head in return and smiled as Ruby let out a loud cheer, "Yeah! Team RWBY is back together!"
"I'm still not sure what to think about you." Weiss pointed at the monkey faunus who was standing behind Blake, causing him to let out a nervous laugh.
David came over to Weiss's side and rubbed the back of his head, "What's your name, anyway?"
"I'm Sun Wukong." Sun introduced himself as he held his hand out to David for a handshake, "Nice to meet all of you."
David grabbed Sun's hand and shook it, "David Miller."
"Hey, wait a minute..." Ruby looked around her and noticed that a certain orange haired girl was gone, "Where's Penny?"
"I thought she was standing behind you." David answered, beginning to look around.
Everyone started looking around themselves, attempting to spot Penny anywhere in the docks, but she was nowhere to be seen. She must have moved away from them when they weren't looking.
"...Now, that we are here together." Yang looked at her sister after a few moments of silence, deciding to change the subject, "Can you tell us what happened when we weren't here."
Ruby nodded her head and she sat back down on the crate, followed by her sister, Blake, Weiss, David and Sun taking their seats as well. She started explaining to Yang, Weiss and David everything that happened in the docks, starting with the news that Roman Torchwick was now working with the White Fang and ending her story with explanation of how Penny kicked everyone's butts with her floating blades.
It wasn't long before Professor Goodwitch arrived at the docks. She had a quick conversation with the police officers and detectives at the crime scene before approaching her students, asking them what happened, sounding more stern than usual while doing so.
Ruby could only let out a nervous laugh in response, having no idea if she should laugh or cry.
We're finally done with the first volume, and David and Neo met. I'm looking forward towards writing these two, especially in the later volumes.
Hope it wasn't that bad. See you in another chapter.
