#6: Genie in the Bottle
Type: Deleted scene
Timeline: Enemy of my Enemy 2
Summary: What if Optimus brought the Apple of Eden to Griffin Rock? What if there was a 'genie' inside?
Cody Burns watched as Optimus Prime spoke with the other Rescue Bots with a solemn face. Inside the Cybertonrian leader's hand was an orb.
Something, as the young boy overheard, that could help the island.
It didn't look like very much. Just a bronze orb with strange glyphs wrapping all around the circumference. Cody tried to get a better look at it, but it didn't help that he was short and Optimus towered over him. His older siblings gathered in a tight circle off to the side, silently discussing what happening all over the island.
However, Optimus directed the conversation to the engineer.
"Graham, I need you activate the Apple."
"Uh, sure thing, Optimus." Graham said. Cody heard a note of nervousness as Graham reached out to take the orb. "How do I activate it, exactly?"
The man's question was answered the moment the orb was placed in Graham's hand. Everyone quickly slammed their eyes shut as a brilliant golden light filled the underground bunker. Even with his eyes closed tightly, Cody could still see the light clear behind his eyelids. He was beyond grateful when it died down, leaving him and his family to blink out the spots left behind by the light.
However, once they cleared the spots and was able to see better, Cody couldn't believe what was in front of him.
Hovering over the orb, which had been dropped, was a woman with black hair that flowed as though in a phantom breeze. Half of her head was shaven but it didn't diminish the subtle beauty of the woman herself. She wore a hooded jacket with pointed flaps that also seemed to be blown by an invisible wind.
Then she opened her eyes.
Impossibly grey eyes glanced around, before landing on Optimus, the orbs growing hard.
"Well, if it isn't the great Optimus Prime, finally calling me forth from the Apple." The woman sarcastically said, her hands on her cocked hips. "After aalll these years, you finally allow me to leave my bottle."
"Noble!" Cody whispered. The woman's eyes glanced toward them, the scowl on her face hardening even more.
"Oh, okay, so you only called me because you need help. Pft. Typical."
"Sister, these are the Burnses and the Rescue Bots. They need your help."
"Our island has had a series of strange environmental phenomenon not typical of the location." Graham pulled up his tablet, showing images form the disasters to 'Sister'. "Earthquakes, sinkholes, fires tsunamis, ectara."
"Hmmmm…." The woman hummed. "And….exactly how long has this been going on?"
"About two weeks." Dani answered.
"Well, let's see If there's something in the database, shall we?"
Cody watched as the woman cupped her hands, a golden light forming between them. With a gentle flick of her wrist the light exploded outward. They were encompassed by a golden light, with little pockets of more solid orbs floating around sporadically. Sister floated forward, making a swiping motion downward.
Cody watched, amazed, as she selected a gold orb. She squeezed the orb until it exploded, forming words written in a language that Cody didn't recognize and images that he did recognize as Griffin Rock from a time before time.
"Ah-ha! Victory!" Sister exclaimed. She cupped the orb, her illuminated eyes shining. Cody watched as she read the script, her smile slowly disappearing. "So….oooh that's not good."
"What?" Charlie Burns asked.
Sister hesitated, fidgeting a bit before glancing down. "Well…it seems that….okay, I'm not going to sugarcoat this. Your island is in danger."
Kade groaned. "We know that!"
"No, like really in danger!" The woman insisted, her countenance growing increasingly more panicked by the second. "Like you need to evacuate everyone right now!"
"Why? What's going on?" heatwave asked.
"It seems as though the Island of Griffin Rock isn't actually an island."
There was a pause before everyone spoke up with a confused simultaneous, "Huh?"
Sister sighed, the sound like air being leaked out of a tire, as she facepalmed and said, "There's no time to fully explain, but the gist of it is that what you call an island is actually an Observatory-slash-laboratory built during pre-historic times by beings that were basically responsible for the creation of humankind. But it seems that the integrity of the laboratory is failing."
"Which means that it'll take the island with it!" Boulder finished.
"Bingo, was his name!"
"Actually, he is Boulder." Chase intoned. Everyone glanced at the police bot but didn't say anything. Chief Burns cleared his throat before speaking up.
"What can we do to stop this?"
Sister smiled. "Alright: listen closely."
