Chapter Six
To his surprise, the supervillain merely hummed in thought as if he hadn't considered that option yet, which didn't make a lot of sense to Izuku as the man had to be intelligent if he went for this long without being apprehended.
All For One continued in his gravelled voice, "Very good assessment there young Midoriya. Yes, I suppose it would be highly suspicious to pull you out of public school so soon after the recent events." He stopped for a second to consider a solution, "If it is acceptable with you Mrs Midoriya, then Izuku could come down to the League's headquarters, with you of course, for some lessons. This would of course be on the weekends and perhaps some weekdays as well."
The compromise didn't seem too bad to Izuku and he saw that his mom was considering it alongside him but… All Might's quirk and training too. Should he really trust All For One with that knowledge? He probably doesn't have a choice if they are both going to be training him. He wants to be able to control All Might's quirk and to do that Izuku might have to enlist this Villains help. Add that he didn't want to be reliant on a quirk like most people so he would need the combat training that was mentioned previously, he didn't want to judge too quickly but the number one hero didn't seem to know what to do when it came to training a child.
A throat clearing brought him out of his musings. Shifting a startled gaze towards the other two people with him, he was relieved that he didn't seem to be announcing his thoughts to the world again. Time to make a decision on the spot, his favourite.
"T-there's a slight issue with that plan… Um, you already know a-about how I uhh met All Might before you p-put your o-offer out? W-well, funny story, he kind of, um, showed up again after you l-left? A-and he made a complete 180 and-and told me I c-could be a h-hero, but… uhh only if I-I accept his Quirk. Which-which should be scientifically im-impossible b-but umm y-yeah…" Izuku's words trailed off as he wasn't even sure if the villain would believe him or not and he didn't want to make more of a fool of himself than he already had.
Giving a grating chuckle, All For One began addressing the child's concerns, "Thank you, child, for showing your trust in me by divulging that information to me, it was unnecessary, however, as I am fully aware of One For All and the tale behind its origin. I take it that All Might has offered to 'train' your body for both the quirk and heroics. He is just another prime example of how heroes of today are arrogant and are nothing but hypocrites. It seems as though he failed to remember the time when he himself was powerless before being chosen.
"I digress. My intention was not to let my emotions take control of my words. We will have to devise a plan around whatever schedule All Might creates. But do not fear my boy, I will teach you technique and control, balance and restraint. I will fill in all of the blanks that All Might will leave behind."
The two Midoriyas let a sigh of relief pass through their lips as their shoulders relaxed marginally. Mamadoriya just drew in a breath to thank him and head home when All For One speaking once more captured her attention.
"Once All Might has gotten in contact with you about all of this, meet back here. Do not fret over whether or not I will be here, just show and we shall discuss the training further and introduce you to a few members of the League who will take the role of your trainers and hopefully they will become something of a future family to the both of you."
Neither of them knew what to say in response to such a confession so they agreed to maintain contact and bid adieu to the dangerous man. They could feel eyes on their backs for a portion of the journey to the apartment that quickly vanished as they grew nearer to their home.
Arriving back didn't come with a lot of fanfare. The mother and son duo were practically silent as they hung their jackets up and placed their shoes by the door. Inko wandered into the kitchen to prepare a quick meal before they holed themselves up in their bedrooms to ponder over the information and opportunities that had been presented to them.
While his mom busied herself with cooking, Izuku moved to the living room and sat with his gaze directed to the TV but not seeing anything. He didn't know what to believe anymore. All For One had flipped his world on its head, he was a villain that wants to teach him, nurture him and eventually care for him apparently. And yet, the man who was supposed to be the Number One Hero dragged his dreams through the dirt one minute, but then when he did something reckless and almost got himself killed, he completely switched his viewpoint.
Distantly, Inko called out for food and Izuku made his way to the kitchen as though he was wading through water. He was sluggish and only paying enough attention to his surroundings to not make a fool of himself. He sat and ate his food on autopilot, his mom doing the same. Both of them were too enamoured with their own questions and revelations on what happened to speak so for once the dinner at the Midoriya household was a quiet one.
Once the plates were mostly empty, Mrs Midoriya took it upon herself to clean up as she knew that her son would be too distracted and needed time to organise his mind. She was right. He immediately rose from the table and made his way to his bedroom where he quickly threw on some nightclothes and flopped face down on his bed.
None of the past couple of days has made any sense to Izuku but he has to power through and sort out his thoughts to solidify what he wishes to become in the future. A hero, a villain or dead.
