Liam walks out of his room and directly into Josh.
"I was told you are coming on our scout of the preserve." Josh says, looking bored.
"Um, no. I am going with Mason and Corey. They are dropping me off." Liam scowls.
"Ok, well I am the messenger. " Josh says.
This is unbelievable. He hates that everyone assumes that he is just going to go where they need him to. Not today. He walks away and goes outside where Mason and Corey are waiting in the car. He gets in the back and Corey looks back at him.
"Uh, I thought you were going with Josh?" Corey asks.
"No. I don't appreciate orders that do not come directly from the source." Liam grumbles.
"I like this one." Mason says, smiling broadly.
Corey looks nervous but pulls out anyway. Liam watches the hills as they drive by. He has not been sleeping well lately, so he starts to nod off.
Liam wakes up in the fucken preserve.
"Corey." Liam snarls.
"I am sorry, but I need time with Mason." Corey pleads.
He grumbles and gets out to find Josh sitting there. What a set up. He just needed a ride.
Liam and Josh walk through the preserve and see nothing. Liam starts to wonder if this is a waste of time when he hears something fly through the air. He feels himself shoved to the side and falls to the ground. He looks up and sees Josh bleeding grey fluid from an arrow. Liam crawls over to him.
"Are you okay?" Liam asks.
That is probably a stupid question, but he doesn't know what else to say. Josh looks like he is in pain and Liam tries to determine where the hunter is. He sees someone come out of the clearing. He remembers that thing Derek said about the 5 second rule.
It takes him one second to wolf out. Two seconds he grabs the arrow and disarms the hunter. In three seconds he is on top of the hunter. Four seconds he senses fear. Five seconds he sees Chris Argent. Liam withdraws his claws.
"Argent?" Liam asks confused.
"Liam?" Argent asks, just as confused.
"Why are you shooting us?" Liam asks in disbelief.
"I am here by Scott's direction. He said there were chimera's who may be looking for trouble." Argent says.
Liam feels his IED boil over. What in the world is going on with everyone. He ignores Argent and walks back over to Josh. He hoist him up and quickly gets him into Argent's car, who now seems like he wants to help. Most likely because he almost shot Liam, but he will ignore that last part.
Liam calls Mason to explain what is going on and Argent drives to the vet clinic. They arrive in record time and Liam sees that Corey's car is already there.
"What the hell happened to him?" Mason asks in alarm, him and Corey running over to Liam. Liam gets Josh out of the car and starts banging on the door.
"I….I…" Josh attempts to speak.
Liam knows they may be running out of time. He bangs louder on the door.
"Who is in there?" Corey asks.
"Deaton. It is his clinic." Liam says.
"I cannot take anyone anywhere without approval." Corey says.
"Do you want him to die or do you want to get yelled at?" Liam argues.
He sees a figure coming over to the door. He continues to bang on the door. He doesn't really know what to do, but there has to be something Deaton can do.
"Liam?" Scott says, opening the door.
"Scott! Is Deaton here? Josh is bleeding grey blood or something. I need his help." Liam attempts to explain.
"Bring him in." Scott says.
"Mason and Corey quickly walk in with Liam. Scott directs them to a table in the back. They set Josh on top of it. Deaton walks out and starts examining him. Liam looks over and sees Corey on the phone talking to someone.
"What happened?" Scott asks.
"I don't know. Argent tried to kill us. Donovan is missing, so we were in the preserve seeing if any hunter's were there and to find clues. " Liam says, glaring at Scott.
"You just told me about this Liam! That Donovan is missing?" Scott says, looking confused.
"YES, but I figured Stiles would have told you." Liam says.
Based on the look on Scott's face, Stiles did not tell Scott anything. He is not sure why, or what that means. Why wouldn't Stiles tell Scott anything about someone missing? It may not matter, but if supernatural creatures start going missing, than there could be an entirely new issue going on in Beacon Hills.
Liam is directed back into the hallway with Mason. Liam sits down and tries to calm his heart. He looks over at Mason. He looks upset and also angry at the same time. Mason doesn't seem like one to get angry too often.
"Mason?" Liam asks.
"I don't know what is happening with everyone. Corey was upset but he did not look surprised when he found out Josh was hit. Like he didn't even want to come here. I was waiting for him to drive here, and he sat in the car for like ten minutes. I had to beg him to come. " Mason says looking upset.
"Stiles didn't tell Scott about Donovan. " Liam says.
Liam doesn't feel good about any of this. It is doubtful both packs are involved in some weird conspiracy with Donovan, but at the same time no one seems to be honest about anything recently. He wonders if this is a bad omen. He waits impatiently until Scott comes out.
"He is going to make it." Scott says.
"Really?" Liam says, jumping up.
"Yeah. He cannot really talk right now, but Deaton said he will keep him here overnight. He just needs to rest." Scott said.
"Thank you." Liam says in relief.
"Of course. I am not going to let people die." Scott says.
Mason looks relieved and smiles at Liam.
"I am going to go home so I can talk to the pack." Corey says, looking at Mason.
"Ok, are you coming?" Mason asks, looking at Liam.
Liam looks at Scott. For the first time he feels better about Scott. Not that all is forgiven, but at least he still is the same Scott he remembers. He also misses everyone.
"I am going to stay with Scott tonight." Liam says.
Mason nods and Corey looks uneasy, but doesn't argue.
"So, how is life with heathens?" Malia snarls at Liam.
Liam rolls his eyes.
He is sitting on the couch with Malia and Scott. Malia has been asking 500 questions all at once. It is understandable though, because honestly who would of thought that anyone would be living with the chimeras. Also, who would have thought Liam would be helping to save one.
"They are okay. I think Tracy hates me." Liam says.
Scott smiles.
Scott's phone goes off and he leaves the room to answer it.
"Any reason you reek of Theo?" Malia asks, raising her eyebrows.
"I do stay there." Liam points out.
"So does Corey but he normally smells like Mason." Malia says.
Liam averts his eyes from Malia and wonders if he should text Mason on how it went over there with the pack. Scott comes out of the living room looking confused and upset.
"What?" Liam asks.
"He is gone." Scott says.
"Like he left?" Malia asks.
"No, like he died on the table. Deaton said he was fine and then 30 minutes later he was gone. He said he went outside to help someone with their dog and when he came back in, he was dead." Scott says.
"What did he die of?" Liam asks alarmed.
"Deaton said he is going to look into it now. I called Stiles and he is not answering any of my calls." Scott says.
"I don't understand." Liam says.
"He is not a real werewolf. He is like a split dna type. An experiment, right? Maybe he just didn't heal." Scott points out.
"An experiment?" Liam asks.
"I don't mean it like that. I just mean that he is not technically supernatural, so maybe he just couldn't make it." Scott says.
Liam feels sad. It was not like him and Josh were great friends or whatever, but he tried to save him, and he could not. Maybe if he did something sooner? He knew something was wrong. He should have kept looking for Donavan and convinced everyone to lay low until then. That way it would have been okay and maybe he would have been fine.
"Liam it is not your fault. He wasn't pack and you still tried to save him." Scott says.
Liam looks up at Scott. What the hell. He was not pack. So what? Does that mean they don't try to save people that are not in the pack.
"Scott, who cares. I thought we save everyone." Liam argues.
"We do, but I mean he was not innocent and maybe that is why he got hurt. There are consequences for your actions. I try to save everyone I can, but I can't always." Scott says.
A knock sounds on the door. Scott walks over and opens it, to find Stiles standing there.
"Sorry, I came as soon as I could. I was trying to help Theo with something." Stiles says.
"Theo? You are helping Theo now?" Scott asks, starting to look annoyed.
"Just with research on some hunter stuff. He asked me about it at school." Stiles explains.
"Why didn't you tell me you knew Donovan was missing and why didn't YOU Liam." Scott says.
"Honestly, I kind of have a lot going on and I wanted to try to help Liam too. I did some research on the hunters and then Theo asked me some stuff. He seems super weird but not dangerous." Stiles says.
"I don't get why I am involved with this and have to tell you everything." Liam says.
"Liam, I am your Alpha." Scott says.
"But you aren't. Not really. You sold me out for some peace treaty. I have been trying to help and that is why I talked to Stiles. Also, why are you upset he was with Theo? I thought you wanted me to spy on them." Liam says.
He remembers now that he was supposed to be a spy. With the stress of earlier he almost forgot about it.
"A spy?" Stiles asks confused.
"Not a spy. Just someone who sees what is going on in Theo's pack. In case he is planning something. He is not someone we can trust. You said that yourself Stiles." Scott points out.
"I know what I said, but I don't want to send Liam off to be with them." Stiles says.
"Stiles, you told me you wanted me to search his house before." Liam snarls.
"Look, I think we are getting off topic here. Why are you upset anyway Liam?" Malia asks.
"Because I am being used to do whatever the hell everyone wants. Like what is this. Also, how are we any better if we just see them as experiments and how could you send Argent out there?" Liam asks, looking directly at Scott.
"I didn't mean it like that. I just mean we should be careful. I wanted him to check on things. " Scott says.
"Namely you Liam." Malia says.
"What does that mean?" Stiles asks.
"Ok, thanks guys. Real fun here. You be careful too." Liam says sarcastically.
"Wait, we are not saying not to be friends with them, but.." Scott tries to say.
"Yes we are." Malia says.
"You have been hanging with Mason a lot." Stiles points out.
"So, Mason is a human like you!" Liam argues back to Stiles.
"Yes, but he is also dating Corey. Isn't he like friends with Theo or something?" Stiles asks.
"More like a lap dog." Malia grumbles.
"K. Let's do this again sometime." Liam says and walks out the door.
Liam ignores the 15,000 calls from Stiles and Scott. He is not sure where he is walking to, but it is raining. He feels soaked and wonders how everyone got so off topic. It is not that he expects Scott to love the chimeras but at the same time, he said he wants peace. How can they have an alliance if he is making Liam spy and not be around any of them.
He growls in frustration.
"Want a lift?" He hears someone say.
He looks over and sees Hayden in a car next to him.
"OK." Liam says and gets in the car.
Hayden hands him a towel. He frowns but uses it. Why does she have towels in the car?
"So, do you normally walk around in the dark at night?" Hayden asks.
"No, do you normally stalk people?" Liam snarls.
Hayden laughs.
"Deaton called. He said there was mercury in Josh's system. That is how he died I guess." Hayden says.
"He called you?" Liam asks.
"He called Corey and told him." Hayden explains.
"Why would mercury be in Josh?" Liam asks.
"Great question. Considering the dread doctors are gone now, that would not be an accident. Clearly, someone was trying to hurt him or he was ingesting it. Most likely he was not ingesting it though." Hayden says.
"Are you sure they are gone?" Liam asks.
"I saw their bodies. Yes I am." Hayden says.
Liam looks out the window. He shivers. It is freezing and he is not any closer to figuring anything out. Josh is dead now. He is not any closer to finding out what the hell is happening here. Also, why was Stiles hiding anything from Scott anyway?
He growls again.
"You are pretty angry all the time huh?" Hayden asks.
"Whatever." Liam grumbles.
He has every right to be angry. People are dying and no one knows where Donovan is, but everyone is not saying everything they know. Doesn't that make everyone just as guilty? What if what they know could have helped save Donovan. Donovan is no saint, but he didn't deserve to die, because at this point Liam is certain he is not going to find an alive Donovan.
They get back to the house and Liam remembers he didn't tell Hayden where he wanted to go. Not that he really has anywhere else to go. Maybe he should start walking again.
"Lydia is inside." Hayden says.
"Why?" Liam asks, trying not to sound alarmed.
"She volunteered to talk to Theo about ways chimeras can be poisoned. There was mercury but there were other things inside him too. She is good at these things, so we figured maybe she can help determine what else was inside of him. Deaton gave us a sample." Hayden explains.
Well he cannot leave Lydia in there alone. He gets out and heads inside. He walks in and sees Lydia talking to Tracy about different possible substances.
He looks over at Mason who is looking sad. He sighs. He feels really bad. He should have done something.
"Hey Liam. " Lydia smiles, and comes over to him.
"Hi." Liam looks at her.
He never was one to be able to hide anything. Lydia looks at him with concern.
"What's wrong?" Lydia asks.
"I just had another fight with Scott. Malia is Malia. I just need a break." Liam says.
Lydia pats his shoulder.
"I have to head out because I have class early, but can I come by tomorrow in the morning? We can do breakfast?" Lydia asks.
Lydia is always very mom like. More so now than ever before. He is the youngest in the pack, but he never really got to know her that well before. She really is the only one he is not mad at.
"Sure." Liam says.
Lydia hugs him goodbye and leaves.
Liam walks by everyone ignoring them and goes up to his room. He does text Mason on the way. He just needs to be alone for a while. He feels like everyone is getting him angry over every little thing. He needs peace. He needs to mourn Josh. It was his fault. He moved him out of the way.
"Little Wolf. Open the door." He hears Theo say.
"No thanks." Liam says.
He hears a rattling and then the door opens. He sees the door is off the hinges.
"What the Fuck Theo." Liam growls.
"Did you realize that you completely ignored what Josh said today. Corey was not supposed to even take Mason out." Theo says.
Liam glares at him. Theo looks mad and his eyes are flashing. This whole dictatorship is really getting old here.
"I am not a slave Theo." Liam grumbles.
"I did not say you were a slave, but Josh was on his way back to the house. Corey is upset because he called him while you were in his car. He convinced him to drop you off there so he could go out with Mason alone. He was not even supposed to be on that trip. It is not Corey's fault but this is why we have direction." Theo says.
"What?" Liam says.
"Josh talked to me about an hour before Corey left the house. He said he thought he knew where Donovan may be but he had to check the preserve first for something. He was on his way back when everything happened. I assumed hunters were an issue, that is why I wanted you to go with Josh. I also told Corey to stay in." Theo explains.
"So, we killed him?" Liam asks.
"No. I just need to think. Maybe we can get Josh back and figure out why he had mercury and other things inside him." Theo says.
"SO, like use his body?" Liam asks.
"NO. I mean we would have more samples of whatever it was that killed him." Theo says, looking irritated.
"Oh." Liam says.
"Oh." Theo says.
Theo throws a towel at him. It hits him in the face.
"Ouch." Liam growls.
"You need to shower. You reek of Scott and I don't like Scott." Theo says.
"Well, what would you have me do then? I didn't even hug the guy." Liam argues.
What a control freak. He cannot control Theo's senses and he certainly is not going to worry about who he hangs around with. Not that he is planning on hanging with anyone soon. He feels like everyone is out for themselves recently.
"I would rather you smell like me." Theo says smirking.
Liam is not really sure what that is supposed to mean, but that does not sound entirely appropriate to him. He narrows his eyes at Theo and walks past him to get in the shower.

A little while later he is sitting on the couch looking at a bunch of dread doctor books. Theo kept a lot, and he figures maybe he should know something about them. He continues looking at the books when he feels eyes on him.
"Your incredibly creepy." Liam says.
"You are the one looking through my stuff. " Theo says.
Liam throws the book at Theo's head but he catches it instead. Theo puts the book back and sits down next to Liam.
"Are you upset he is gone?" Liam asks.
"Of course. He was still pack." Theo says.
"Well, everyone seems to be so divided recently." Liam says.
"I heard you yelled at Scott again. Per Mason." Theo says smirking.
"I yelled at you too." Liam challenges.
"I know. You seem to hate being told what to do." Theo says.
"I just don't like doing things without any explanation or good reason." Liam points out.
"Maybe you just need to be in charge of something that you like." Theo says.
"Like what?" Liam asks annoyed.
He is really tired, and Theo is getting on his nerves. Theo normally gets on his nerves, but today more than ever he is annoying him.
Theo pulls Liam towards him until he is sitting on top of him. Liam looks at him trying to figure out what the hell is going on here.
"What the hell are you doing Raeken?" Liam asks.
"Go ahead. Your turn to decide now." Theo says.
Liam stares at Theo for a second. He does not move. Theo seems to grow impatient and then shifts Liam, so he is on the couch now. Theo is sitting over him.
"I guess it depends on what it is." Theo says.
Liam attempts to get up and Theo grabs the back of his neck and pulls him back down. He feels his wolf whimper and become docile. When is Liam ever docile with his wolf? He has IED for goodness sake.
"Scott never really taught you anything huh?" Theo asks.
Liam feels nervous but his wolf seems to be calm for once.
"Theo what the hell. Someone is going to walk in and assume things." Liam argues.
"This is my house. No one is walking in here. "Theo says.
Theo pulls Liam towards him and kisses him for the second time. Liam bites Theo's lip at first in retaliation. Maybe he could have pulled away, but that is not the point. Theo continues to kiss him and licks into his mouth. Liam feels himself shudder and his wolf seems to sigh. Liam feels frustrated and confused again. Although, his wolf does not seem to be at the moment.
Theo growls and moves to Liam's neck. He starts kissing down the side of it and nuzzles him. Liam may be freaking out. He feels confused and excited at the same time. He feels like he is losing his mind. All of a sudden Theo quickly gets up.
"Hey Liam." Mason says, walking in.
Liam grabs a pillow and puts it over himself. Theo does not seem to be worried at all. He seems to be fine and has no signs of any of their previous escapade.
"I thought you went to bed?" Mason asks confused.
"We had to talk about something. We are going to bed now." Theo says.
"We?" Mason asks.
Theo pulls Liam off of the couch and directs him upstairs.
