Sorry for the hiatus on this one. Enjoy the next chapter.
Ember, Danny, Kitty and Johnny stepped into the Nasty Burger where they saw Sam and Tucker sitting in a booth in the far corner and Danny's expression turned sour, "I want to leave,"
"Danny, no," Kitty said in a stern tone, "If we leave then you're letting them win. You don't have to acknowledge them, or even look in their general direction. The four of us are here to celebrate you and Ember…possibly getting together and you giving up on the hero life…for the most part," Danny sighed and nodded before the four of them walked over to the counter and sat down.
The three ghosts looked over the menus in front of them as Danny sighed, "Hey Danny," looking up, the Halfa saw his ex-girlfriend Valerie standing behind the counter, a somber expression crossing her face, "I saw what happened yesterday…are you okay?"
Danny took a deep breath and shook his head, "Yeah…I'm fine, Val…just…spending some time with some friends of mine," Valerie looked at the three ghosts as they refused to make eye contact with the Red Huntress, "Anyway…um…can we get some drinks to start while we decide what we want to order?"
"Sure…and Danny, I hope you and Miss Blue Hair can wait until you two get home to have some fun," the four stared at her with wide eyes, Ember's cheeks turning a dark blue while Danny's turned a bright red, "And Blue Hair…Danny's a good guy so…don't hurt him, okay?" Ember quickly nodded her head as Valerie turned and walked away from the four.
The three ghosts looked at the halfa and Kitty arched a brow, "And why was she talking like you're her brother or something?'
"Oh…we um…we used to date," Danny rubbed the back of his head and sighed, "It was fun…but our personal lives got too complicated so…mutual breakup…still good friends though," he looked at Ember and shook his head, "But…if you don't…you know…want to do this, just say so an-" before he could finish, Ember sat up and moved onto his lap before crossing her arms and Danny's eyes widened, "Ember…what are you doing?"
"Just making sure she and everyone else here knows you're mine, baby pop," Ember said smugly.
Danny sighed and shook his head before he felt someone tap him on his shoulder. Looking back, his eyes narrowed when he saw Sam and Tucker standing behind them, their arms crossed and their eyes narrowed, "What?" Danny spat, surprising the two slightly, "It must be important since you swore you'd never talk to me ever again,"
Sam groaned and shook her head, "What are you doing here with your enemies?"
"Enemies?" Danny looked around before looking at Sam and shook his head, "I don't see any enemy of mine around here. Kitty and Johnny haven't been my enemies for some time and…I think…as of today Ember is my…girlfriend?" he looked at Ember who just nodded and smirked at Sam and Tucker.
"Danny, listen man, we want what's best for you an-"
"That's a goddamn lie right there, Foley," Danny glared at him, "If that were true, you wouldn't have just stood there while the entire football team beat the living hell out of me and I ended up get suspended next week because the great cock sucker Lancer always plays favorites, even though he's a total moron and has no idea what the hell he's doing,"
Sam and Tucker glared at the four of them before they heard Valerie's voice say, "What's going on here?" everyone looked back and saw Valerie behind the counter, setting down the drinks. Looking up, Valerie took a deep breath and frowned, "Please…please go away you two. Danny's here with-"
"Three ghosts," Sam interrupted and Danny's eyes widened, "Danny's 'friends' are a couple of ghosts,"
Valerie turned and got ready to walk away when Danny spoke, "Valerie, wait!" Valerie stopped and looked back, "Is…is there somewhere we can talk…the five of us?" Valerie narrowed her eyes at Ember, Kitty and Johnny, "It'll be better if we talk in private and I'd like Ember, Kitty and Johnny there with us,"
Valerie took a deep breath and crossed her arms, "Fine, we'll talk out back…let's go," she glared at the three ghosts with a venomous look behind her eyes, "But understand, ghosts, if anything happens, I won't hesitate to send you to oblivion…now let's go," Kitty, Johnny and Ember stood up.
Danny started to stand up when Sam put a hand on his shoulder and he slapped it away, "What? What in the actual hell do you want?"
"What do you plan on doing?"
"I'm going to tell her that I'm Phantom and ask her not to hurt Ember, Kitty, Johnny or Spectra…no if you don't mind, I have something to take care of," Sam frowned and Tucker's eyes widened as they watched as Danny led Ember, Kitty and Johnny out of the restaurant.
The five stood behind the restaurant and Valerie inhaled slowly, "Okay Danny, I know your parents are ghost hunters, but why are you hanging out with three ghosts?"
"Let me start of by saying…I'm sorry," Valerie hummed and arched a brow in confusion, "What happened that day wasn't my fault, that dog wasn't mine and you and your dad unfortunately got caught in the crossfire," taking a deep breath, a ring of white light surrounded Danny's waist and Valerie's eyes widened as she watched as Danny turned into his alter ego.
The air between the five grew still before Danny frowned, "If you still want to hunt me down, fine, if you still blame me for what happened to you and your dad…that's cool…but understand that Kitty, Ember and Johnny had nothing to do with that day and they aren't entirely bad an-" before he could finish, Valerie tightly hugged him and Ember's eyes widened in shock.
Danny's eyes moved slightly as he stared at Valerie in confusion, "Val? Is everything okay?"
"You idiot…you should've told me that you were Phantom and I would've stopped hunting you," Danny frowned as he turned back to his human form and hugged her back, "Why didn't you tell me?"
"It uh…was complicated…but can you not hunt anyone here and another ghost named Penelope Spectra?"
Valerie hummed and nodded before she broke from the embrace and looked at Ember with a stern look crossing her face, "Take care of him…he has a good hear, but he's had it rough since Manson and Foley cut all ties with him," Valerie then looked at Danny and shook her head, "And don't you do anything to hurt her, Danny. I know you won't, but I just figured I'd warn you," Danny hummed and nodded, "Well, I need to get back inside…stay out of trouble," the four watched as Valerie turned and walked through the backdoor of the restaurant.
"That was strange," Johnny commented, "So Danny boy, what did she mean she'd stop hunting you? And what dog? What happened?"
Danny took a deep breath and rubbed the back of his neck, "Long story, Johnny, but after an unfortunate turn of events, Valerie swore she'd hunt down the ghost, me, that ruined her life, and…she became the Red Huntress…I'm just happy we ended things better than expected,"
"Right…maybe we should leave before those idiots decide to cause another scene," Kitty suggested and the others nodded before Danny turned back into his Phantom form and the four of them flew away.
Again, sorry for the long wait. Enjoy.
