Chapter 06

It's been a few weeks since the Tamers first mission, and summer had just started up. We see the Tamers in the briefing room, being brief on their next mission. The commander is telling the Tamers that there are reports of energy spikes that resemble last week's Digital Shift in Shinjuku. That they are to leave tomorrow morning, that they can take the built train, since they are gonna be starting a few nights to investigate the spike readings. The commander tells them they have the rest of the day to get ready but that they will still be on standby in case an emergency happens.
The commander dismissed his team. The tamers salute their commander and leave the room and head to the changing rooms so they can change out of their work uniform and into their street clothes. The tamers then head home to pack some extra clothing and some other things for their high gene. The tamers told his parents that they are going on a trip with friends for a week or so. The Parents and Cody grandpa told them to all be safe.
While that was going on we see Daisuke packing in silence. His home was empty, Jun being in her first week in college while his parents are working double shifts and staying at a hotel their company rented out. So Daisuke was by himself for the summer. Daisuke sent a text message to his parents telling them he won't be home for a few days. He puts his phone away and continues his packing. Daisuke then remembered what his commander told him.
With his team and him gone for those few days if an attack happens in Odaiba while they are in Shinjuku. Odaiba would be defenceless, so they either have to bring in the DD or some other people that he trusts. Daisuke looks at his phone and sends messages to Kari and Sora. Along with his team to meet up at DATs HQ and to bring their bags as well. Daisuke sends Kari and Sora to the location of HQ. Daisuke then calls the commander to set up a meeting at 7pm. The commander agreed to this time and told him to save the details for the meeting.
Daisuke hung up his phone. He went to his bag and double checked everything was there. He closes his bags and picks it up. Checking his phone and seeing that it's 6 oclock. He decided to start to head out. He swung his bag over his shoulder and walked out of his home locking the door.
Daisuke arrived at HQ with 20 minutes to spare. He sat down in the lobby chair waiting for everyone. 10 minutes later he sees Kari and Sora walk through the door. Daisuke walked up to them and got them set up with visitor passes. Daisuke then leads Kari and Sora to the 4th floor and takes them to one room that the commander has reserved for them. Daisuke opens the door and lets the two girls into the room. The girls saw a white room with a big table in the middle and chairs on the side of the tables.
The girls sat down on one side of the table, and Daisuke sat on the other side of the table. A few minutes later the Daisuke team enter, they see Sora and Kari there a little confused on what's going on. Daisuke tells them to sit down and that all will be explained in a bit. They nod and sit down without a second thought. This honestly shocked the two DD on how Daisuke's team followed his command without second guessing.
A few more minutes pass, and the Commander and Gennai walk through the doors. Daisuke and his team sat up and saluted their commander and superior Gennai. Soar and Kari just sat there awkwardly. The commander sat down behind the desk that was there while Gennai stood beside him. The commander then asked Daisuke what was this meeting about and why there were two DD in his briefing room. This caused Sora and Kari to tense up.
Daisuke then told his commander that he would like to nominate Kari and Sora to be part time Tamers and Protectors of DATs while they are away to Shinjuku. This announcement shocked the two DD and the tamers, while The commander and Gennai had a small smile appear. The commander spoke up and asked Daisuke if he was sure? Daisuke nodded saying that out of all the DD, that Kari and Sora are the ones he trusts the most. The commander then asked the rest of the Daisuke team for their vote. Yolei Ken and Cody all said the same thing, if their leader trusts them then they trust their leader's judgment.
The commander nodded, then he looked at the two DD and asked them if they wanted to join that the decision was theirs to make. Kari and Sora looked at each other and then they nodded and told the commander that they would join them. The commander then looked at them with a series face and told them that once they accepted joining them. That they will no longer be DD, but will be part of something much bigger. That they will be under Gennai Daisuke and his command. Without a second thought they still accepted their invitation to join DATs.
The commander nodded, pulled out a few forms, he then handed the forms to Gennai. Who then gave the forms to the girls with a pen so they can fill them out. It took 15 to 30 minutes for the girls to fill up the forms. Gennai then took them to the 2nd floor, to get them their uniform and get them each a locker. Daisuke and his team went to the 6th floor, a few minutes later Kari and Sora wearing their new DATs uniform. Sora's uniform was a deep blood red with a silver belt, with a white and blue jacket, with white and blue boots. Kari's uniform was pink with the same features as the others.
Gennai entered the room and asked them for their digivice. Kari and Sora both hesitated at first but Daisuke said that this part that was about to happen was the most important part. The two former DD looked at each other before giving their digivice to Gennai. As Gennai started the process. Daisuke noites that Sora digicore was bigger than the ones they used on them. Daisuke asked Gennai why?. Gennai answered that since Sora and the others were not active for a while until a few months ago, so that the DD were all weaker compared to the Tamers.
Sora was about to argue but Gennai stopped any argument when Gennai said to Sora to remember it took both Vikemon and Rosemon, 2 mega's to beat one weak copy of imperialdramon. This quickly shut Sora down. Sora just thought how weak the DD actually were now compared to Daisuke and his team. Sora looked at her digicore compared to Kari. She looked down in shame. Gennai then tells Kari that the only reason her digicore isn't bigger was because Gatomon basic was a champion form, if not her digicore the same size as Sora.
Gennai started the digivice evolutions. Sora as her digivice split into a D3 and a D-terminal, back into one . Kari looked at her D3 and D-terminal now like Sora had turned into one. Gennai then told Kari and Sora to come up onto the platform. They did as they were told and the same thing that happened to the Tamers.
When the lights died down Sora and Kari were shocked to see what their Digivices had become. Gennai stepped up and called Kari and Sora forward to show them their new Digivice. He told them that they were digivice but were now called personal terminals or PET for short. When they got handed their PETs Sora notes that hers had the symbol of love on her pet. Kari looked at Sora PET to see what she was looking at then she looked at hers and noticed that her PET has the symbol of light on hers.
Daisuke noticed the symbol on their PET, then took out his and saw the symbol of miracles on his. He then thought to himself how come i didn't see that earlier. Daisuke ordered the tamers to take out their PET and to procent them. They did as they were told and showed Daisuke their PETs, Cody and Yolei circle was empty while Kens PET has the symbol of kindness.
Daisuke was about to ask why, but before he could the commander spoke up and made an announcement. The Commander " It's come to my notice that, while yes we have new recruits. So we have more people to cover more ground, But they are new so they need someone to shadow while they get used to the work schedule and their new PETs. So i've made the decision, Daisuke you are to stay and help the new recruits. Until I see that they are able to hold their own on the field. IS THAT UNDERSTOOD?" Daisuke straightened himself and spoke " YES SIR", knowing that there was no point in arguing.
The commander then told Ken that he was in charge of the mission to Shinjuku. Ken said he understood and told the commander that he wouldn't disappoint. The commander left the room, thats when Gennai walked up and gave Sora and Kari their battle chip case and the instruction manual for their PETs. Daisuke told his team to go and rest up cause they still have a mission to go to tomorrow. Seeing that it was now 10pm the tamers agreed and started to head out but not before Daisuke wished Ken good luck. Ken thanked me, saying he'll make him proud.
As the tamers left Daisuke turned around to see Kari and Sora flipping and inspecting their PETs then letting out and eep because Kari accidentally flipped open which scared them. Daisuke sighed and just thought this was gonna be a long summer. Daisuke called Sora and Kari over and told them to come back to HQ tomorrow at 7am so he can start their training. Kari and Sora nod their heads and they leave to change and head home. Daisuke heads home as well.
The next day
Daisuke wakes up at 4am, Daisuke showered and got ready. Was out the door by 4:30, he then got to HQ by 5:15. He clocks in at 5:30 and gets everything ready for the girls. Daisuke has everything ready around 6am, then waits for the girls to come in at 7am. Around 6:45 Daisuke sees both girls coming into the building. They get dressed and then they clock in at 7am.
Daisuke sees them and can tell they're both tired by the looks of the bags under their eyes. Daisuke sighed and just thought this was gonna be a long summer. Daisuke called both girls over and got into the elevator heading up to the simulation room. When they got to the simulation room, both Biyomon and Gatomon were in the room waiting. The girls ran up to their digimon and hugged them. Daisuke told the girls to reload their partners into their PETs.
The girls ask how they do that. Daisuke asked them if they read the instruction manual. The girls shook their heads, saying that they fell asleep when they got home. Daisuke just sighed and thought this is gonna be a long summer.
