Hi guys. Here's the next chapter. The next one might take a few days to get up because I'm not sure where I want the story to go now. If anyone has any suggestions or feedback please let me know.
Olivia stood frozen as Amanda continued her struggling and attempts to get away.
She was brought out of her shock when a gun was suddenly at Amanda's head and the blonde's struggles ceased immediately.
the older woman knew that this encounter would diminish any progress the blonde had made over these last 3 months. She remembered when she had brought her home from the hospital. Amanda was so afraid, and she would follow her whereever she went. She knew she would have company in her bed for a while, especially after this. Amanda had just recently begun being able to sleep in her own room. That was something else that was being worked on in therapy. Liv was just glad her friend had another session coming up soon. She knew she would need it.
all she could do now was stall long enough and hoped someone would call her squad or any other officers. If he got Amanda into that car there'd be no way to keep him from leaving.
"Li..., Liv," she mouthed and Olivia just looked at her. "It's ok, sweetheart," she said making eye contact with her. "I'll protect you." "How touching," he said as he looked between the two of them.
"You know, she would cry for you when I was punishing her," he said casually, running a hand through Amanda's blonde hair making her eyes widen in fear.
Olivia was doing everything she could to remain calm. Inside she was boiling with anger, but she knew she needed to be calm for Amanda's sake. It was her only way of getting them out of this alive.
"You won't get away with this," she said and he just smerked. "I wouldn't be so sure," he responded and before Liv could process what was happening he was dragging Amanda towards his car.
"Nooo," the blonde screamed, trying once again to escape.
She didn't want this. She wanted Olivia.
Olivia quickly texted Fin before rushing towards them, her gun pointed at the scumbag that haunted Amanda's dreams and had caused her so much pain.
Don't move," she yelled, and he just grinned sadistically once more before tossing Amanda into the back seat and Liv knew this was probably her only chance.
"I said freeze," she yelled once again and he continued towards the drivers side door.
The next thing the detective knew, there was a gunshot, followed by a swarm of officers surrounding the van, Fin not to far behind.
"Liv," he yelled and she looked towards him, relief clear in her brown eyes. "Are you ok?" he asked, running towards her and she nodded. "I'm fine, but I have to get to amanda," she said, taking off towards the back of the van.
She rounded the side and carefully opened the back door, where Amanda was curled up on the floor, franticly rocking back and forth as she shrieked at the top of her lungs, begging for the only person that would never hurt her.
"Shhh, sweetheart," the detective said as her own eyes welled with tears . She tried blinking them back but that was impossible and they began sliding down her face like a river. "You're safe now, we both are," she continued in that soothing voice she used with the victums in their line of work, hoping it would get through to her friend.
"Olivia,"she screamed and the brunette just sighed. It was time to move to plan B.
Slowly she crawled into the van and pulled Amanda into an embrace. "Nooo," she shrieked once again and desperately tried to break free. "Liv, please help, don't let him take me away," she said and Olivia held her a little tighter before slowly starting to rock while still talking to her in the same soft tone she used when she found her in that basement.
She needed her to calm down. There were EMTs nearby, but that was a last resort. The last time EMTs were involved, Amanda had to be sedated and she really didn't want a repeat of that.
Finally, after about 20 minutes Amanda's eyes popped open and she looked around, her breath coming in quick gasps.
"Hey, sweet girl," Liv whispered. "I need you to relax for me," she said and Amanda just continued gasping for breath.
"Come on, sweetheart," she whispered. "I need you to breathe, deep slow breaths," she said leaning the blonde back against her chest and beginning to take slow, even breaths to demonstrate.
"I c, can't breathe," she said and Liv held her a little closer. "You can breathe, baby," she said, "I promise."
Eventually her breatheing returned to normal, and once the events of what almost happened started to sink in she lost it.
"Liv," she wailed, and Olivia knew her mind was catching up with the events of the last few minutes.
"Don't leave," she continued wailing and the detective immediately began attempting to reassure her.
"Shhhh, sweet girl," she whispered. "No one is going anywhere, we are both going home," she said, standing and beginning to walk around with the blonde in her arms. Amanda was gripping her shirt so tight her knuckles were turning white.
"Olivia," Amanda shrieked and she knew if she didn't get her somewhat relaxed she would have to be sedated. "Baby, I'm right here," she said, tilting the blonde's chin up to meet her eyes. "See?" she whispered softly and Amanda just stared back at her as she stroked a tear-stained cheek.
"Liv,"she breathed and the detective sighed in releef. "Yes, sweetie, its me," she whispered and Amanda buried her head in Olivia's neck, while still gripping her shirt.
"Excuse me," a young EMT said, coming up to the two once Olivia had stepped out of the van. "Can I take a look at her?" she asked, nodding to Amanda, who had not moved or relinquished her grip on her friend. "The brunette frowned but nodded. This was not going to go well. With a sigh she began trying to gently coax Amanda out of her arms. "Hey, sweetie," she said, rubbing her back. "This EMT wants to check you out, just to be sure you're OK," she said and immediately Amanda began shaking uncontrollably and clinging more tightly to her. "Baby, its ok, I'm not leaving," she said but Amanda just shook her head and began crying softly.
She looked at the EMT, whose nametag said Anna and sighed. "I'm sorry," she mouthed. "She was abducted over a year ago and I'm the only person she trusts. "The man in the other ambulance is her abductor. "Can I just take her home?" she asked, sending a pleating look towards Anna who nodded sympathetically.
"Thank you," she said gratefully and kissed the top of Amanda's head.
Hear that?" she asked. "We are going home," she said and the blonde relaxed. "Fin," she said, getting his attention. "What's up," he asked. "Can you give us a ride home?" she asked pointing to the blonde in her arms and he nodded sadly.
He knew that all the progress that had been made was undone by the events from today.
Once in the car, Liv glanced down at her young detective. She still hadn't moved, and almost had a panic attack any time Liv tried to get her to do so.
She wasn't speaking, which Liv exspected. The good news though was that she hadn't regressed, which the brunette was greatful for.
As Fin drove, he looked in the rearview mirror at the two women in the back seat. his partner still had her head buried in their boss's neck while one hand clutched Olivia's jacket, and Olivia was softly running her hands through Amanda's hair and down her back, keeping her calm.
Once they arrived home they walked into the apartment, Amanda still in her arms with Fin close behind. "Hey sweetheart," she whispered. "I need to put you down for a second," she said and the young detective's breatheing once again sped up.
"Hey look at me," she said and her friend finallylooked at her, her breatheing still too quick for Olivia's liking. "Baby I need you to calm down," she said softly. "We are home now," she said making eye contact with her. "See?" she asked, and Amanda finally looked around, taking in her surroundings before realizing where she was.
"Home," the blonde signed and the brunette nodded. "That's right sweetheart, we are home." She carefully walked over and placed Amanda on the sofa. She began walking towards the kitchen to make some tea but was stopped by a hand grabbing her wrist. Looking down, she saw Amanda' looking at her, while signing no repeatedly. She knelt down in front of her before speaking in a low voice.
"I'm not leaving you," she cooed softly. "I'm just going into the kitchen," she continued, motioning with her free hand. "Fin is here," she said and Amanda let go of her before flinging herself at him, and he caught her easily.
"Hey baby girl," he said, hugging her gently and she just snuggled closer in response while still keeping her gaze on their boss. He looked at Olivia over Amanda's head, who looked just as surprised as he did. "I'll be right back," she said and he nodded as he turned on the television, settling on a rerun of The golden Girls. "Have you seen this one?" he asked about halfway through the episode and his partner nodded. "I've seen them all," she signed and he smiled. He knew this was one of her favorites, and if this was helping her feel safe then he would gladly watch it with her until their boss returned. .
When she returned a few minutes later, Olivia couldn't help but smile. Amanda was cuddled into Fin's side as he rubbed her back softly as they both watched the sitcom playing on the tv. When she saw her, Amanda immediately crawled back into her lap, laying her head on Olivia's chest.
"Here sweetheart," she said. "I made you some tea." Amanda attempted to take the cup but with the shaking of her hands Liv had to do it, afraid she would spill the hot liquid.
She held the cup up to Amanda's lips and was surprised that she was able to drink a little over half of it. "That was good enough for now," she thought as she sat the cup on the coffee table.
"I'm gonna head out," Fin whispered, seeing Amanda blinking her eyes repeatedly. He figured Liv needed to have some 1 on 1 time with her before attempting to get ready for bed. "Ok," she responded, laying Amanda on the sofa and covering her with a blanket. "I'll be right back, sweetness," she said. "I'm just walking Fin to the door." Bye, Fin," the blonde signed and he smiled, kneeling down next to the couch. "Bye, baby girl," he said softly, gently kissing her forehead.
Once they were out of earshot, Fin began to speak. "What the hell happened?" The brunette just sighed. "After you left, she wanted to go out so we went to the restaurant around the corner," she began.
"I wasn't sure it was a good idea, but She was communicating what she wanted, which she hasn't done a lot since being rescued," she said and continued with the story.
"I started getting an uneasy feeling though about halfway through the meal, like we were being watched," she said and Fin clenched his fists in anger.
"That bastard was watching you," he yelled but softened his tone after a glare from the olderwoman. "Sorry," he said, looking Apologetic.
"Apparently he was following us, because i heard a scream right as I was about to open the car door," she said.
"The next thing I know he has a gun pointed at Amanda's head," she whispered as tears sprang to her eyes but she blinked them away. "I tried talking him down and when that didn't work I texted you," she said, glancing over at Amanda who had been following her every movement with her eyes and she knew neither of them would be getting much sleep tonight.
"Ok," Fin responded after a beat of silence. "I hope she doesn't have to testify," he said and she glanced worriedly at her friend. "I don't know if she's strong enough," she said and he just nodded. "This could disstroy her," he said sadly.
"She's strong," she said. "We will help her get through this," she said and he nodded, closing the door softly behind him.
She made her way back over to the couch, aware of the pair of blue eyes that were following her every move.
"Hey there, my love," she said taking a seat beside her friend who responded by wrapping two small arms around her for comfort.
After a few more episodes Amanda let out a yawn. "Are you ready for bed?" she asked and the younger detective just nodded but didn't move away from her. "Can I sleep with you?" she asked in a small voice. "Of course, love," she said softly.
A few hours later, the brunette was awakened by an ear splitting scream. Sitting up, she saw it was still dark outside. glancing over at the clock, she saw that it was around 4 AM. She looked over at Amanda, who was tossing and turning next to her, tears running down her face. "Shhhh sweetheart," she said as she attempted to touch the blonde who flinched in response. "wake up, Amanda," she said, trying to bring her back to the present. "Liv," she yelled, sitting straight up in the bed, glancing around the room before her eyes landed on her friend. "come here, sweetie," she said opening her arms, and Amanda fell into them. olivia could feel Amanda's heart beating wildly against her chest and she knew that a panic attack was in evitable if she didn't stop hyperventilating.
"easy," she said, rocking her slighttly in her arms as she placed a hand on Amanda's bare back. "I... I... I want... I want to stay with you," she cried and the older woman just held her, continuing to rock her. "You can, baby, you can," she whispered into a nearby ear. Somehow she new the blonde wasn't just talking about the current moment. "We will work something out," she continued, knowing her friend may never be able to live on her own again. That was something the brunette and Dr. Phillips had discussed. She knew she could get Amanda where she needed to be, but her dependence on Olivia for safety and physical comfort was a concern. That was ok though. If living with Olivia was what she needed then that was what the brunette would do.
Once Amanda had calmed down she looked at Olivia before speaking quietly. "I love you, Livy.""I love you too, baby." "I love you too."
"sleep, baby," she said. "I'll be right here," she continued and Amanda just cuddled closer before once again drifting back to sleep, her boss not far behind.
