"Recent news on the terrorist attacks by the former animal rights group, PETA, has gotten the White Fang to come out to an exclusive interview to state their minds on the recent acts that were said to be inspired by their organization," The newscaster spoke.

"Yes, the group PETA has attacked several cities and towns around Earth. We'll be airing the interviews at eleven. Be sure to tune into the V(ale)N(ews)N(etwork) for any updates,"

Alex decided at that point to change the T.V.

"Wow, that PETA thing really seems to really be getting attention," Ruby said, wearing her pajamas laying backwards on the couch. "Again, they are meant to be animal rights activists?" Ruby looked over to Alex, who nodded.

"Want a turn?" Alex asked, handing over the remote to Ruby. She quickly grabbed the remote and looked what was on, flipping through the channels.

As Ruby was looking through the channels she looked over to Alex, and something crossed her minds. The conversation Lorelei had said.

"Alex," Ruby called the American. "Did your government offer you money to be a Huntsmen?" Ruby asked.

Alex raised an eyebrow and turned his head to her, "Sadly no, both the Federal government and the State of California's don't offer any, never have I been so jealous of Wyoming," he said, sounding disappointed. "Why did you ask Ruby?" he asked.

"Lorelei said her family was getting money from their government," Ruby said, "it's odd to me. You know, I'm a Remnant. We don't receive money for training to be a Hunter and or our families. So I don't understand that."

Alex tapped his chin. He could understand where she was coming from, a career that had generations of traditions suddenly having new rules that applied to a few people get thrown in. "How do I say this," Alex began, "Well it's kind of a bribe that they do," Alex said.

"I knew it!" Ruby said.

"Yeah, it's pretty obvious," Alex shrugged. "But you Earth needs Huntsmen, and can't be depended solely on Remnant and our militaries to keep us safe from larger Grimm like Wyverns. So when we found some people could produce aura some of us thought paying them to train would help us stay safe," Alex said. "Grimm will keep coming to Earth, that won't stop, but since not everyone on Earth can fight Grimm, we need as many Hunters as possible, even if it means paying them just to train. Ya understand?"

"Kind of?" Ruby said. Ruby kept flicking through the channels

Suddenly, what sounded like commotion could be heard downstairs. Ruby and Alex wouldn't have paid it any mind till they heard someone rushing up the stairs. The door was kicked open and Sun-Hee and Yu came rushing in.

"The new Bruce and Spruce Willis movie came out on DVD!" Yu yelled, grabbing everyone on the floor's attention.

The only exception was Francis who was looking at the kicked in door. "THE DOOR!" he yelled as he ran to the door to look to see if it was damaged.

Ruby turned Alex and both sighed, deciding to do other things.

Jaune hurt everywhere! He didn't know how, but he didn't know how but he was hurting in places that he didn't know existed!

"Well, I must say Mr. Arc, you are improving, you almost lasted a minute today," Ozpin said as he looked down at the student. "Alright students! Who can tell me what Mr. Arc did wrong?" Multiple hands shot, some Terran and other Remnant, the only hands that didn't rise were Cardin, Coco, a few other team leaders.

"Hmm, Mr. Zhao!" He called the team leader of JNGT(Night). "What could have Mr. Arc done to last longer in this public humiliatio- I mean battle?" Ozpin asked.

The Russian-Chinese student felt a sweet drop, he never knew he'd fear a person that old. "Jaune could have used his shield more, your fighting style relies mostly on fast pace strikes so I would think he could use his shield more," Jinhie said, pointing out how Jaune would also lack on defending when it came to their professor. "Though even if he did he should also try not to use his shield-"

A held back laughter could be heard from a certain student, Cardin of team CRDL, interrupting Jinhie. "Oh, so you think he should just let the old man hit him? You people," he said in a condescending voice, shaking his head.

Most of the Terran leaders glared at Cardin, understanding what he meant by "you people."

"No, I was going to say he needs to learn to keep his distance, stay out of Professor Ozpin's reach," Jinhie said, glaring at Cardin.

"Hmm, Mr. Zhao, if you'd like to discuss this later, please stop on by," Ozpin looked to the student. "Same goes for you both as well, Mr. Arc, Winchester."

Jaune nodded his head as he left to go to sit down with the other team leaders.

"Now, Ms. Green and Ms. Adel, why don't you two join me down here?" Ozpin called two students down, both students shivering as they had been selected for (public humiliation) training.

Back with the other students Jaune instead of sitting with Annie, went to sit with Jinhie.

"Um... Zhao, right?" Jaune asked, Jinhie turned to Jaune and nodded. "Jaune Arc, I don't think we've ever talked before."

"Like the French Saint?" Jinhie seemed surprised. "How have I not heard the French students talking about you?"

Jaune shrugged his shoulders, "Why would they be talking about me? And who is this saint? Annie mentioned something about Jeanne d'Arc, is he famous?" Jaune asked, confused by who was the saint.

Jinhie sighed, "Well, SHE," Jinhie corrected, "Was an integral part of ending the Hundred Years war," he said, he couldn't help but hold back a snark as he saw Jaune realize he might have a girls name. "So, Jaune," Jinhie tried to bring him back on track. "What do you need?"

Jaune managed to get back on track. "Oh, yeah. You said something about keeping distance from Ozpin? Have any tips?" he asked.

"Stamina training," Jinhie said, "try swimming, it's a light all body workout that is great for stamina training," he explained, "Beacon has its own pool, so you should head there. I plan to head there later today, you should join me."

"Sure!" Jaune agreed.

As Jaune and Jinhie kept talking, Annie looked to the boys, a smirk on her face. She was plotting something.

"So… let me get this straight," Ruby began, her and Alex were sitting across from each other in the cafeteria. "There are no rules two through thirty three on the internet?"

"Yes and no, they are unofficial," Alex said, both denying and confirming her question.

"But rule thirty four is legit," Ruby asked. Getting a nod from Alex. "How does that make sense?!" Ruby exploded.

Alex shrugged his shoulders, "Don't ask, just accept. People are horny and will find a way to get their rocks off," he said. Ruby's face turned red. As Ruby was about to ask why, Alex stopped her, "Ruby!" he called her, "Don't ask. Just accept!"

"B-but," Ruby stuttered.

"Oh, and rule thirty five of the internet is "the exception of rule thirty four, is the citation of rule thirty four!" Alex said.

"WHAT!" Ruby yelled. Why did Terrans even do this? They had the free time to make things like that! It was filth! Filth!

Alex ended up laughing at Ruby's antics and confusion. It was hilarious to him explaining to Remnants the rules of the internet, and them trying to wrap their heads around rule thirty four. Suddenly his phone buzzed and when he checked on it a crazed smile appeared on his face.

"YES!" Alex yelled into the air.

"What?!" Ruby yelped in surprise as she flung herself back and fell on her back and the floor. "Ow…" Ruby groaned. Picking herself up, she looked over to Alex. "What got you so excited."

Alex laughed, "I won the bet!" he said, pumping his fists in victory.

"What bet?" Ruby asked, confused as to what Alex was going on about.

Suddenly a look of realization came to Alex's face, "Oh yeah! You haven't heard of the betting pools!" he said, a giddy smile on his face. "Come with me! He said, hoping over the table, and grabbing Ruby by the hand.

They had come to the library.

Now, it was a strange place for a place where bets were taken, but what made it stranger was Alex had taken them to the custodian's door. That was also not mentioning that professor Ozpin was there.

Ruby was freaking out when she saw him. Was he here to confiscate the money? Was she going to get in trouble? Was she going to get expelled?!

"Ah! Wizard of Oz, good to see you," Alex waved at their headmaster. "Here to collect your winnings?"

"That I am not, Mr. Delgado, but to start a bet," Ozpin nodded, Ruby was shocked. Their professor was placing bets with students?! "Which one did you happen to win?"

"Where Boita would attack Zhao, I bet on the pool," Alex said with pride, knowing he would be getting a good amount.

Ozpin hummed, "So it was you who won that, I placed my money on the library." He chuckled as he knocked on the door.

The one who opened it was the janitor. "What?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Aruba, Jamaica, Bermuda, Bahama, Key Largo, Montego," Ozpin said to the man, who nodded.

"Down to Kokomo," the janitor opened the door leading into his room.

Ruby turned to Alex who whispered, "What was that, some kind of code?"

Alex snickered, "It's a song," he said.

The custodians room was larger than Ruby thought, but when she saw him opening a hatch with stairs. Voices could be heard down there.

"Head down, and cover up on your way," the janitor said, as he left them to their devices.

As Ruby, Alex, and the headmaster headed down, the voices started to sound like yelling and there was lots yelling.

Ruby saw a good amount of Terran students crowding around a few tables.

"Welcome to Kokomo, betting pool hub of Beacon," Ozpin announced, "now excuse me, I have things I must attend to," Ozpin said, leaving Alex and Ruby to their own devices.

Alex took Ruby to a table with what looked like a lot of angry students, but as they pasted some of the students, they saw Jinhie walking with a limp.

"Sup, man! I see you haven't been sent to the infirmary," Alex waved to him.

Jinhie sighed, "Yeah, she got me," Jinhie looked disappointed, but was soon changed to a slightly happy expression, "On the bright side, I did make a good amount of Lien, I knew it was a matter of time till she got me, I just had to place where," Alex nodded, both smiling.

"Well thank you for making me some money," Alex snickered as he walked on by. As he grabbed his money, Ruby saw a few students cursing him out, which he didn't pay any mind to, counting his Lien.

"Two hundred and eighteen Lien, that should cover a good amount," Alex said, which made Ruby shocked.

"Wow, that's four times my monthly allowance," Ruby said in awe.

Alex smiled, patting on Ruby, "Why don't you give it a try, I'll pay so you don't lose anything," Alex offered.

"I-I don't know, isn't it bad betting on people who don't know?" Ruby asked. Concerned about what they were doing.

"If it makes you feel any better, you can bet for people? Make quick cash to help," Alex tried offering some comfort. As he looked around he saw a student standing up on a table. "Oh! They're announcing new bets! Come on!"

As they went up to the table, Ruby couldn't help but notice the silence that came over the room and the mass of people coming around them.

"Listen up! We are now opening up five new bets today! So be sure to listen closely!" the student called out. "First, we have, courtesy of Ozpin, the identity of the Black Death, and like always you have till the end of semester to guess! Second, placed by "He Who Shall Not Be Named," we have a bet of when Cardin Winchester will be beaten up by the Terrans! Third, also placed by "He Who Shall Not Be Named," and our first romance bet of the year, when will Nora Valkyrie and Lie Ren get together! Fourth, from the famous Jinhie Zhao, from the Boita vs Zhao bets, is when will the Remnants realize Blake Belladonna is a Faunus! And lastly, wow another one by the Wizard of Oz himself again, the bet on when Jaune Arc… wait what? I'm not saying he'll "get good," Jesus what's wrong with you people," the student got down from the table finishing his announcement.

"Some good options," Alex muttered. "May I suggest the bet placed by Zhao? It's only a matter of time till people find out."

"You sure?" Ruby questioned.

Alex sighed, "If you don't want to I won't force you, but it'll only be a matter of time, and that one seems to have the most traction. People don't care about some guy being beaten up, no one has guessed who the Black Death is yet, and romance isn't something I would recommend betting on, but that's just me. And if you feel guilty about getting the money, you can always give it to Blake once you receive it. Assuming you get the money."

Ruby thought about it, she hasn't ever really placed bets before. So she didn't know if it was necessarily all bad, sure rude she knew, but all bad? She wasn't sure.

"Alright, fifty on Blake, five months, two weeks, and three days," Ruby decided. What were the odds of her winning anyways?

Suddenly the sound of an air horn echoed through the room, the same student standing on the table.

"Sorry! But I almost forgot, for all new students, I must sight the rules of the betting pool! First rule, We do not talk about the betting pool! Second rule, we do not talk about the betting pool," he stressed. "Third, we do not interfere with bets! No separating, getting in the way, cock blocking, whatever! Fourth, we do not fight in the betting room! And fifth and finally, what do we not do everyone?!"

"We do not talk about the betting pool!" everyone in the room said.

"Thank you! Be sure to also say thank you to the custodial staff for helping us put this all together!" he said before leaving once again.

Ruby and Alex had come back to their dorm, and when they got back the rest of the unit was in the middle of "Kiss, Marry, Kill."

"Alright, Francis, kiss marry kill?" Sun-Hee asked.

Francis let out a laugh, "Easy! Kiss Yu, marry Arthur, and kill Yuri!"

"Marry Arthur? I thought you hate each other," Lorelei asked, confused by how things went, "And why kill Yuri! He's amazing!"

"Because Arthur doesn't deserve to die but to have a long long life of misery," Francis said, staring into Arthur's eyes. "Ok this is getting boring, what else do we get?"

"Hey guys!" Ruby waved to them, "What's up?"

"Playing kiss, marry, kill," Arthur said. "We say the members of our unit we'd rather do one of the three with, though we can only do it for six terns till we get board. Oh! We should play cards against humanity!"

"Yes/NO!" the room was divided, the Red, White, and Blue students saying yes, and the others saying no.

"What's cards against humanity?" Ruby asked, not knowing what it was, but Ruby did notice how Yu and Sun-Hee's faces changed to one of dread.

"Ruby, how would you like to play a card game full of dark, inappropriate humor?" Arthur asked. "It's just a game where you finish jokes to make them as funny as possible."

Ruby thought about it. Dad and Yang always prided themselves in knowing how innocent Ruby was, thinking she didn't know swears, what sex was, and other things deemed inappropriate by the blonds, and if someone ever tried to tell her anything they'd be met with angry blonds. They didn't even take off safe search on her computer and scroll. And while Ruby would definitely get flustered by things of this nature sure, but she knew about these things.

So an opportunity she could use to not be censored by her sister and dad was welcomed.

"Um, sure! Seems fun," Ruby accepted the offer.

Yang had answered the scroll, as she looked off into the distance.

"Yang, why are my Ruby senses tingling?" Taiyang asked his daughter.

"I don't know Dad. But I feel it too," Yang answered. Looking at the dorm Ruby was in. "I'm going to find out."

"Eliminate the threat." Taiyand told his daughter.

"Tai! I swear to Oum I will call Qrow and he will be licking your things if you don't leave Ruby alone!" Summer could be heard, as she took the scroll. "Hi sweaty, how is Beacon going? Are you making friends? What are they like? Is Ruby doing okay?"

"Yang! Hang up now! She's distracting you! Keep Ruby safe!" Taiyang yelled over the phone.

What the parent hadn't noticed was Yang was gone. Off to Ruby's dorm.

"Summer! Put the scroll down!"

"Qrow! Quick head over here! Tai is being naughty!"

After hearing what was the sound of the angry Yang, the unit quickly hid the game, as to Ruby's instructions, and played it cool. Yuri and Francis' arm wrestled, which was swiftly won by Yuri. Yu and Arthur got out notebooks and pretended to study, Lorelei and Sun-Hee turned on the TV, and Alex, oddly enough, jumped out the window.

Lucky no one was hurt. And they managed to convince Yang nothing bad or inappropriate humor was had. Though there was panic when one of the cards left out. They managed to hide it.

When Yang left, Ruby did get a call from her Uncle Qrow and her mom about if Yang had come to her and if she needed something licked.

Qrow liked claiming things as his once he licked it. Maybe she should do that?

Then the next day came.

And Ruby was looking forward to today. Why? Because she'd finally see her unit in action.

Sure, she had seen Lorelei's weapon, but she hadn't really heard any of the others talk about their own stuff. They never raised hands to participate in combat training. Ruby couldn't wait to do one thing specifically with her unit, making combo attack names! Something she couldn't really do without knowing much about their attire or weapons.

The unit had gathered and she was excited, seeing her friends' in combat attire. Ruby was wearing her signature red cape, corset, black combat skirt, and boots, Crescent Rose on her back.

Lorelei had her light blue hair tied up in a ponytail, her gear looked more militaristic, not like current military gear used by most armies, but hers looked more like something from the Terran 1940s. Her top was a grey green color, two chest pockets, and two more pockets near the end of her tunic, her hands covered in fingerless gloves. Around her stomach was also a belt, a back support. Her bottom looked the same color as her top, with many pockets on as well, and steel toed boots at the very bottom of her attire. The only thing that made Ruby could say she truly loved about it was the cape that she had on. Cape twins!

Next was Yuri's armor made her feel hot, his armor was thick light sandy brown camouflage coat, a gas mask covered half of his mouth and nose, his trousers the same brown camouflage. His boots were odd. They had two pieces of metal on both sides of his boots. A large broadsword rested on his back.

Arthur had the red coat Alex had mentioned. Though it was different then how Ruby thought it would be. It looked more of an assassin's cloak. His black trousers were covered in metal armor, keeping his lower legs guarded. His weapon of choice were knives. A lot of them. Some on his cloak and some in his sleeves. Another cape buddy!

Alex wore a brown trench coat, looking more like a detective from those old movies. His clothes were the most casual out of her unit. Under his coat he had a dark blue vest, a light gray long sleeve undershirt, and a black tie, his bottom half was made of jeans, and his shoes were the only one not wearing steel toed boots. Under his left arm was a Ruger Blackhawk, and on his back he had two more handguns on him. The only thing he was missing was a fedora hat.

Sun-Hee wore a red scarf around her neck, a dark green cloak, a white button up, and arm guards, her lower half covered by black pants which were stuffed in her boots to keep them from dragging. Her main weapon was a bo-staff.

Then there was Francis. They couldn't see his face, covered by what Ruby almost mistook as a Grimm mask, but remembered was a plague mask. In fact, the entirety of his get up looked like a white plague doctor. But what Ruby did notice was the pieces of armor placed around incorporated into his clothes. His main weapon was a flamethrower that looked like a lamp, and like Roman Torchwick his cane fired dust rounds.

And lastly was Yu. The first thing that she noticed was what looked like an odd guitar with three strings, a shamisen. She wore a green colored kikko katabira, mail armor and iron-hardened leather armor. Her bottom half covered mostly in leg armor, having a green hexagon pattern on it, keeping with her green color. Besides the shamisen on her back, she had another weapon, a smaller version of a katana, a wakizashi.

"Wow!" Ruby said, looking at everyone. "You guys look awesome! Lorelei and Yuri, you guys look like soldiers from the future! Alex you're like a detective, and that's the red coat you were talking about? Arthur it's awesome! Like an assassin! Francis I gotta say, I almost shot you, you made me think you were a Grimm! And Sun-Hee, Yu! You guys look amazing! Really have that Mistral-Asian vibe! Though what's up with the guitar?"

Yu tilted her head, "Guitar?" Ruby nodded, pointed to her shamisen, "It's not a guitar Ruby, it's a shamisen, it has three strings, not six."

"Oh, but why do you have it?" Ruby still asked.

All eyes fell on Yu to explain the role she had on the unit. The Japanese girl gave Ruby a pat on the shoulder. "I play as a bard for our unit. I call my semblance, Music Amp. It allows me to boost or debuff people based on the song I play," she explained. "I can only do one person at a time and can't do anything over the top, but I mainly play as support. We all have rolls."

"Ah, so what about everyone else?" Ruby asked, looking at everyone.

"Mind if I?" Yu asked, not getting any complaints from the rest, she proceeded. "Alright, so think about it like a game. We have our tank, Yuri. His Semblance is стена or Stena. It's Russian for wall. It basically makes a wall just as tall as him and six meters long. Lorelei plays both director and main damage with Arthur, and Alex. Francis and Sun-Hee play our mage, doing attacks from a distance at mid-range. And then there is you, who we'll figure out later since you can do both close and long range combat."

"Oh, we should tell her our team attack names!" Francis piped up. Surprisingly his voice was quite clear even though he had a mask on. Ruby didn't care about the mask though. She was now depressed! She wanted to give them team attack names.

"Alright," Lorelei nodded. "I'll tell you a few, going with our Far East and West couple, we call Alex and Yu 51-Stars. Sun-Hee, Yu, and Yuri, are Far East. Yu and I are Axis, and Alex, Arthur, Francis, and Yuri are Allies. Alex and Francis are Old Friend, Alex and Arthur are Thirteen, hmm, we should quickly think of something for you," Lorelei thought for a moment.

"Oh! Idea!" Sun-Hee exclaimed, raising a hand. "Grim, with one m, you can double team with Francis since he has the whole plague doctor thing going for him and you're like a red Grim Reaper!"

"Oh, also what about Guns N' Roses for Alex and Ruby? Since they both got plenty of guns on them. Assassin's Creed for her and Arthur? And Isekei for Ruby and I?" Yu recommended.

"Isekai?" Arthur raised an eyebrow.

"It's an anime trope," Sun-Hee said, shrugging.

"Will Alex, Arthur, Francis, Lorelei, Ruby, Sun-Hee, Yu, and Yuri please get ready, you will be facing Allen, Armeen, Amen, Le'el, Mathew, Nathaniel, and Whitley."

Ruby looked at her unit as they got ready. Lorelei holding her Heckler & Koch, Yuri's boots turning the ground to ice and the metal on his boots coming down to make them skate. Arthur drew knives and Alex put two hands behind him, grabbing his guns, Sun-Hee hand her bo-staff ready and Francis pulled a cord on his lamp, it soon glowed, as fire seemed to come to life inside, and Yu got her shamisen ready to play, just leaving Ruby.

Saying she was ecstatic wouldn't do how she felt justice.
