Many thanks to all my readers that have picked up Grey Wolf Gaming. My thanks go out to; merendinoemiliano, Rogue, Mcvluffcins, Neon dagger, JJafan, and Victor John Foxfire for their reviews. I would like to take a moment and say that I appreciate your input and very kind words.
There have been a few questions that I will take a moment to answer. The relationships in this story will run the whole length of Sexualities, as no single person is built the same. Much of this is based off of information that is freely available on the Fandom Wiki. Legoshi's love interests will run about the same as in Cannon, with a bit of divergence here and there to accentuate evolving characters and the story.
The Information on Feodora is a fabrication of my own with a loose interpretation of medieval, Roman, and Greek histories. His importance to the story will be explained at a later date, but rest assured, I have will be trying to make every bit of information in this story matter, all the way down to the most unlikely throwaway line. Word choice for me is a big thing and something that I have come to agonize over. Since this is a school fiction, for the most part, expect that almost all classes will play a part in the development of the story.
Even names have meaning here, and not all of them are simple ones either. if you think you have figured out what a name means, then please send me a PM, I might have a prize for you depending on what name you've figured out.
There are things that are being built up, that involve Feodora and Legoshi, that will be explained... if you figure out what it is that is going on, then I commend you and would be happy to discuss it with you ;)
Chapter 6
Drama
Who is…?
Legoshi walked into the Drama room to find most of his friends, still a novel experience for him outside of his friends in Dorm 701, all looking at Louis with odd expressions. The Red Deer was on the stage and giving them all a hard look that almost resembled a sneer. Bill stood at the fore with his fists clenched in front of him with Ellen and Sheila standing to either side of him both shaking.
"Um, what's going on?" He asked, more than a bit confused by what was going on.
"Rrrgh, Louis is already wanting to put a new person in Tem's position…," Bill growled lowly.
"I know we have to, but it's so soon after everything…," Els muttered from the herd.
"We have a play to perform in two months!" Louis stated with a dramatic wave of his hand. "If we do not rehearse and get our lines memorized then we won't be able to perform."
"Performing isn't everything Louis!" Ellen snapped.
"But it's what we are here for! We either get with the program or we disband!" He yelled back. His normally calm honeyed eyes were blazing with a passion that they all rarely saw outside of performances.
"Then what are you going to do?" Legoshi asked, he crossed his arms across his chest and stared at the Deer with tired eyes. Louis stared back and narrowed his eyes at the Wolf.
"We need a new spirit actor, I know who I want to take Tem's place, but we need to get ready and get ready fast. We only have two months to put on the play." Legoshi sighed and leaned against the back wall.
"Fine," He scratched his wrapped hand. Bill and the other two girls backed down, though they did not look pleased. Juno bound over, surprising Legoshi with her presence.
"Evening Legoshi!" She chirped. Her cheeks warmed and he felt a fluttering in his gut.
"Hello, Juno. I'm surprised to see you here," He smiled kindly at her.
"Yeah! I got scouted by the actors guild here at school to be in the Drama Club. They thought I would be a good fit!" She beamed up at him. Their size disparity was something that caught even the Herbivores by surprise.
Where Legoshi stood at a solid six feet, Juno stood at a modest five foot seven inches. For their species, it wasn't so odd, but Juno was more on the average side for Grey wolves where Legoshi was on the extreme side of tall.
"So, do you think you'll be the one getting picked for Tem's old spot?" Legoshi asked hesitantly.
"I… I'm not too sure. I doubt I'll even be in Adler since I'm just a first-year and all," she blathered.
"Well, a few of us were first years just last semester, and most of us were either in the cast or helping with the background stuff. Setting up lights, moving props, and scenery. So, you should be in the play, in some way at least," Legoshi tapped the top of her head. "So buck up and go greet everyone else."
As he watched Juno run off and badger the others he felt a presence next to him and looked down to see Kibi standing next to him. The anteater looked at him with open concern and put a hand on his bicep.
"You okay Legoshi?" Kibi asked.
"I'm fine, Kibi, but thanks for asking," Legoshi smiled gratefully. The Anteater reluctantly went and got his script from Louis for the play.
Legoshi went to the changing rooms with the boys and got dressed for the club. Afterward, he went to the catwalks and started adjusting the lighting for the first scene from Adler. The entire thing took roughly a half hour to get right since it had been over a year since the last time they had performed the play.
"Legoshi, maybe a few degrees towards the audience?" Bill called up. The Tiger had a hand under his chin while staring at Sheila and Ellen on stage.
"Is it making them too bright?" he called down.
"Kinda!?" Bill replied with a frown.
"Let me try something then!" he grabbed the light and turned it off.
"What the hell? Legoshi!"
"Just a minute!" he walked around and started adjusting one of the Fore lights to an anterior angle and turned it on. A blue sheet of light came on but soon turned to natural yellow-white when he removed the blue color sheet from the holder in the light.
"Holy – that's perfect Legoshi!" Bill shouted in glee. The girls noticed how the light fell on them and felt like they were alone on the stage. It felt amazing.
After a full hour of passable rehearsals, the official time for club activities had come to an end. The Drama Club though stayed after for another hour or so before leaving for the Cafeteria and Dinner.
"Legoshi! Meet me in the office!" Louis called out as everyone filled out. The others looked at Louis and then the Wolf. While most of them went on back to the dorms, Bill, Sheila, Kibi, and Kai stayed along with Mina, Moro, and Dolph.
"Good, Kai! I need to speak with you too, just give us a minute!" The Mongoose nodded, confused but resigned to talk with the lead actor himself.
The two young Animorphs walked into the admin's office in the Drama Club Building. Louis took a seat on the Admin's desk all while Legoshi stood with his hands at his side. The Deer stared at the Wolf and grit his teeth. Something about the large teen set him on edge in the worst way. Not because he was a Carnivore, not because he was dangerous, but just some niggling thought in the back of his head told him that Legoshi was more than just another Wolf.
The way he carried himself was different. Louis realized with a slight catch of air. He watched the Wolf closely and noticed how relaxed he was. A stark difference from when he had first walked into the Drama Club and looked on the verge of collapse.
"What did you need to talk to me about Louis?" Legoshi asked him respectfully.
"Why do you hide?" Louis started without any preamble. The Wolf recoiled as if struck and stared at the Deer.
"Huh?" was his intelligent response.
"You slouch, and curl in on yourself. You don't seem to be even trying to be what you are…," Louis walked up to Legoshi, almost chest to chest, and stared the Wolf right in the eye.
"Um…," Legoshi spluttered and stepped back, not used to anyone just getting in his face while seemingly trying to taunt him into action.
"It's Carnivores like you that make me sick," Louis sneered. "You go around pretending to be weak and helpless and then when things are just right, you pounce-!" Louis took the opportunity when Legoshi just opened his mouth to protest and shoved his hand in the Wolf's mouth.
Legoshi froze up and began to feel queasy.
"You really are weak, aren't you… The biggest Wolf I've ever met, and you're more pup than Wolf." Louis sneer ad used his other hand to try and clamp Legoshi's mouth down and draw blood.
Legoshi finally snapped out of his stupor, realizing what Louis was trying to do, and acted. He forced his mouth open with his superior muscles and used his hands to gently pry Louis' own from his mouth.
The Deer was freaked out. He could not believe what he had tried to do! He couldn't even think! It was like all his pent-up frustration and rage had finally snapped and he found the easiest outlet in the Academy's most docile student.
"If you think I'm weal, that's fine. If you think I'm more like a puppy, I don't care. I am not weak. I am not helpless. I am not some predator either. I am Legoshi Hachami, and I don't appreciate what you just tried to do to yourself Louis," Legoshi leveled a disappointed stare at the Deer and gently pushed the young buck back a few steps.
Just as Louis was about to rebuke the Wolf out of instinct, the door to the admin office swung open and admitted Kai the Mongoose to the room. He looked between the two and offered a deferential nod to the two teens before looking at Louis directly.
"You needed to speak with me, boss?" Kai smirked.
"Yes, Kai. The Student Council and Faculty in charge of the Drama Department had a meeting today. I was only available for the later portion because of my free period. They have decided to rework the Actor roster. They handed me the list and it looks like they have reassigned you to the Lighting crew."
"What!?" Kai shouted, shocked and appalled by the decision. "Why would they do that?"
"Based on what I was able to read from the meeting minutes they based their decisions on public outlook and personal performance. Because you performed badly last year they decided to remove you and have Zoe the Goat take your place."
"Bu-but!" Kai looked outraged. "He can't ever memorize his lines! Almost every time we try to put him in something he ends up eating the script or he just can't memorize it to save his life!"
"Unfortunately for you Kai, I agreed with them. You have a tendency to overreact and get overly angry at everyone when something goes wrong. It was both for cast safety and because of what the council perceived as bad performance." Louis turned away and stared out the window behind the desk. "That is all Kai."
"Ragh!" Kai lept from his spot at the door to try and attack Louis in a fit of rage. Louis turned and stared wide-eyed at the pouncing Mongoose only to find his vision being blocked by the hulking body of Legoshi standing between them.
Using his bicep as a shield, Legoshi took the full brunt of Kai's claws to the arm. His shirt turned bright red and then dark crimson as the blood began to flow from the five puncture wounds. Kai stared, horrified. He looked up and caught Legoshi staring at him with what could only be described as absolute scorn. The Wolf was severely disappointed in the Mongoose and let it show on his face.
It was then the Kai noticed that Legoshi had caught his other arm with his hand and was actually holding him off the ground by a few inches.
The Red Deer stared at the whole altercation with wide eyes as he watched drop after drop of blood fall to the floor in a small puddle. It brought on flashbacks of a childhood he longed to forget and made him even more enraged than before.
"What are you two doing?!"
"Stand down," Legoshi ordered. His eyes flashed and Kai gulped with a sudden fear for his life.
The instant he felt the tension leave Kai's body he let go of the Mongoose and stared him down. He straightened back to his full height.
"Kai! Legoshi!" Louis barked. His heart raced and his fingers curled like claws. His antlers tingled and his skin crawled. He felt like he was in the presence of a true predator then. It wasn't the muted voice in the back of his head he would hear when around other carnivores, it was the full-blown warning bells he used to hear whenever a Predator would pass by his cage.
In one vein it was intoxicatingly refreshing to feel it again because it made him feel alive more than anything else ever had. In the other vein, it terrified him more than anything else that the harmless Wolf was now pulling that feeling out from his subconscious.
"Um, I… I'm fine with Zoe being the replacement for Tem! I… I don't know what came over me! I'm sorry guys!" Kai bowed stiffly and bolted out of the room after that. The red Deer stared at Legoshi and felt a wave of ease all of a sudden.
The Grey Wolf turned to Louis and bowed solemnly to him. The blood that had been dripping from his arm had slowed already, faster than any injury Louis had ever seen.
"Sorry about that Louis. I'll get a washcloth to clean up the blood!" Legoshi acted quickly and left the room.
Louis sat there, stunned and unnerved beyond anything he had felt before. Without Legoshi there he would have been mauled by one of his club-mates. Not that he couldn't have defended himself eventually since Kai was simply a Mongoose. The whole thing had happened so fast that he was even surprised Legoshi had been able to step in the way he had. The strength from the Wolf had also surprised him. Kai was not large by Carnivore average sizes, but Legoshi had lifted him up with nothing but a single hand while his other arm was used as a shield.
The entire conflict was over and done with before he had time to think really. It was terrifying in its own way. From what he could tell of Legoshi though, it was as if the Wolf had not even batted an eye at either of them and simply reacted on instinct. That alone made a cold feeling race up his spine.
At that, however, Louis decided that he was not going to react to any of it when the Wolf came back. Nothing happened, nothing was going to happen, and nothing would be talked about.
Legoshi walked out of the room, his heart pounding and his mind racing.
'what the fuuuuuck!' he thought. His mental gears had stalled and he was running on autopilot now. Everything that could have gone bad in that room had, and then lit itself on fire and jumped straight to hell without a parachute! What the fuck!
"Kai, you idiot…," Legoshi murmured while running towards the janitor's closet. He was gripping his arm tightly while the blood started to slow. His Hybrid Regeneration was working better than expected to heal the flesh wound he had gotten from Kai. He was thankful for that too since the idiot had nicked a major blood vessel in his arm with that stupid stunt of his.
From the janitor's closet, he grabbed a roll of paper towels that he wrapped around his arm twice before taping it on with some electrical tape he found. He then grabbed a towel and a bucket he quickly filled with bleach and water.
His nose stung from the strong detergent, but he fought through it.
He quickly brought the cleaning materials back to the room and found Louis staring at the pool of blood with hard eyes. When the Deer caught sight of Legoshi he huffed and turned away.
Well, if the buck wasn't going to say anything then that was more than okay with him! He dunked the towel in the bleach solution and quickly cleaned up the mess. After a small scrub, he was done and the floor no longer looked like someone had tried to have a late-night snack by murder.
"Legoshi," Louis caught him before he could turn to leave. He looked back and saw the stern look in the Deer's eyes. "I will need your help tonight. I need to get Zoe up to date on the script and I know he is not up to the task. However, I must abide by the Council's wishes and put him in the play since he is our only other Herbivore that even remotely matches Tem's stature and description. So, I will be tutoring Zoe nightly with the script. What I need from you is a lookout to make sure we don't get caught. Understood?" Louis stepped up and dug his finger in Legoshi's chest. Legoshi felt something, something odd about the request and he caught a slight blinking in the top right corner of his vision. He saw that the Quest symbol was flashing.
While Louis ground his finger into Legoshi's chest the Wolf mentally commanded for his Menu to pop up.
The world went grey, Louis stood absolutely still, and the Menu morphed out of nothing.
"Quests," he intoned gravely, the day had worn on him and he just wanted to go and sleep the night away.

Legoshi stared at the Quest Bug-eyed for a minute or so. While the price of failure and the Price of victory were high it was extremely odd. The fact that he would fail it if Louis died was not something he had thought he would see there. It was a simple request for Rex's sake! He wasn't going out to battle murderers and crazed Carnivores or something like that! He would be on campus making sure they didn't get in trouble with the staff!
Legoshi highlighted the quest and hit the accept button for it while shaking his head. Something weird was going on here and he was determined to find out what it was.
With that done he ran a hand through the fur on his head and sighed. He exited the menu and looked down at Louis with wide eyes as he had been before.
"I'll do it… I don't like it, but I'll keep watch for you," Legoshi didn't even need to act, the quest aggravated him and he could tell something was going to happen. Good or bad, he could not say, however. Just that something was going to happen.
"Good! We need to grab dinner first. Go with the others if they're still here and eat. I will be getting the old scripts for Adler together and going over them before we meet later."
"Um… Okay, don't forget to eat Louis, can't have you passing out on us," Legoshi said in passing while leaving the room. He went outside and saw that everyone had taken to playing a card game while waiting for him. He didn't see Kai, but he didn't expect to after what had happened.
"Let's go, everyone! Sorry for taking so long!"
"It's okay buddy!" Bill shouted exuberantly. The others smiled and made excuses for him. Their camaraderie forced the Grey Wolf to smile and for his tail to wag a bit in pleasure. None of them noticed the paper towels wrapped around his arm, since they blended in with his shirt.
In the Cafeteria they found everyone eating amiably at their usual spot near the back of the cafe. Jack was talking animatedly with Collot and Durham about their course work while Kibi and Tao joked about something. Kai sat off to the far side of the group and looked stricken. Ellen and Els were talking up a storm about something while Mina and Juno were busy talking fashion. Dom and some of the other Dance team members were talking costumes for the Play and the festival not long after.
Bill lead them over and they sat down with a great wave of excitement.
Jack, ever the observant one, almost choked on his food when he pointed to Legoshi's arm.
"What the hell happened!?" he cried out, bits of egg salad flying out when he did so. Whereas the others around him would have normally been grossed out by the display, they were more concerned for what had happened to the Wolf.
"Oh, this?" He lifted his arm. "When I was talking to Louis I had accidentally knocked some jars over in the office. Both Louis and I tried to grab them at the same time and I kinda maybe hurt myself on his horns?" he grimaced a smile out and laughed internally at their ludicrous faces.
"How in the hell do you manage that?" Bill exclaimed "Seriously!?"
"Fortunately I was able to stop the bleeding with some paper towels and we cleaned up the mess. We apologized to each other and decided that we'd call it even since we both caused the accident unintentionally."
From there the group talked about class and other minor things that had gone on during the day. Moro mentioned that she had heard some interesting tails about some sort of ghost lurking about where Tem had been murdered. At that point, the group shared whatever they had heard about Tem's death and came to the conclusion that their classmates were idiots or simply denser than concrete.
After that, the group finished eating only to notice they were the only ones left in the building. The cafeteria staff was looking at them with a mixture of awe and irritation. Most likely from being such a big group of Herbivores and Carnivores eating together and then also the fact that they had stayed much later than what was normally allowed.
When passing by some of the staff Legoshi heard one of them talk to the group.
"It's nice to see such a large group of friends. Just be careful looking into that poor Alpaca's murder! We don't want to see any more students, especially bright up and comers like yourselves, get hurt because of it!" The female, an African Elephant named Sue, regarded them all with a motherly gaze before shoeing them off to the dorms.
Juno piped up after they left the building.
"Is that what we are in our off time then?" She asked with a strange look on her face.
"What do you mean?"
"Murder investigators?"
"Well, since Tem was one of our own and a very good friend, we have taken up the cause of looking for his murderer. We have been able to determine that none of us that are present were the ones to kill him… so we are looking for clues right now. Just be careful about what you say and who you ask." Sheila told the young wolf vixen.
"How do you know it wasn't one of us?" Juno asked.
"Tem was Devoured…," Legoshi intoned gravely. "To be devoured means that more than seventy-five percent of your body has been consumed by a Predator." Legoshi looked her right in the eye, "The only ones that could do something like that and get away with it are me, Bill, Kody the Warthog, Aoba, and Riz. All of us were either here the day it happened, or not even back at school yet in Riz's top of that? We would have been blood-crazed, willing to attack anything and everything for the next several hours. Tem was found dead at 8, school opens at 10, we would have been killing anyone that got near us." The fact that Legoshi had spent some time in the library and stumbled upon an old book about Carnivores and what happens when they eat a sentient being made this all the easier to explain.
"Yeah, what he said," Bill cut in. "But we also would have looked like overstuffed pigeons too since that is a lot of … material," Bill's face soured and he looked disgusted at the thought, "To put into such tiny places. Anyone who can stomach that much and not puke is a monster in my opinion."
The group did as they had done the Friday before, and what they would keep doing from then on. They went to the herbivore Dorms first and dropped off their friends before moving on to the small Carnivore Dorms and then the Large Carnivore dorms. As they entered Legoshi stopped both Jack and Bill. One because he was his closest friend and the other because he was well-liked by the rest of the Drama Class.
"What's up?"
"Is something the matter 'Goshi?"
"I'm going to be out late tonight," Legoshi told them. They shared a look and looked back at him.
"Why?"
"Louis needs me to act as a lookout while he instructs Zoe the Goat on the script for Adler."
"What happened to Kai? I thought he was going to get it?" Bill asked, confused.
"Apparently there was a rework by the Council and the staff, he got kicked off the Actor roster and is now working with me on lights."
"Shit," Bill cursed under his breath.
"So I'm going to be helping them every other night during the week to get Zoe up to par for the rest of the crew. I just wanted to make sure more than one person knew what was going on."
"Gotcha 'Goshi!" Jack yipped happily at him.
"Understood Legoshi, I know Louis can be a pain in the ass, so I get wanting someone, or ones, I in the know in case something happens," Bill smirked.
"That's just it… I feel like something is going to happen one of these nights, I just don't know when that will be," He sighed. The two boys across from him shared a look and shrugged.
"Don't worry about it Legoshi, you'll be fine! Louis can get you out of trouble if a staff member finds you! If not we can rat him out and tell the staff what was going on."
"Yeah, besides, you have our numbers, if something weird happens 'Goshi, just call us up and I'm sure we'd be happy to help," Jack looked to the Tiger and was relieved to see a determined nod from the larger Carnivore.
"Yeah, if you run into the big bastard that killed Tem, you let us know and I'll rouse the troops!" Bill winked conspiratorially at him and laughed. Legoshi shared an awkward laugh with them and waved them off as he turned back towards the school.
Standing outside of Club Building 7, which had a small stage for comedy acts, Legoshi waited for Louis and Zoe. The two teens quickly arrived and shred a short bit of pleasantries before Louis dragged Zoe inside and started their rehearsal. Louis told him that they would be doing this three days a week, Monday Wednesday, and Friday of each week until the week of the Play to make sure Zoe had his lines. He wasn't going to take any chances with the Goat messing up.
Legoshi, understanding where Louis was coming from, but also feeling irritated with the Deer for it, resigned himself to watch duty. He could see the large fountain from where he was, the one that he had sat at with Tem just the year before and they had talked for the second to last time.
He let his mind wander and thought about how things had been going so far. He thought about how hectic his day had been and the amount of blood he had shed. Broken hand, punctured arm, what next?
It was here, at a quarter past midnight, that Legoshi felt the first signs of gratitude for the Watch that now adorned his wrist. It had seemingly given him so much for his troubles. He looked at his Attributes and blinked at what he saw.

His points had increased quite a bit over the course of the day. He hadn't looked at the many notifications but he could tell just from looking at them what they were most likely for. The constant running around campus probably increased his endurance, along with the broken hand. The quick-thinking he had during the quick showdown with that Nolan guy, and then the bout of stupidity that Kai showed in the Admin Room. Increased Wisdom and Intelligence from history and research in the library. And then Charisma…. That one eluded him but he shrugged it off.
While waiting for the two to be done, Legoshi caught something out of the corner of his eyes. He swung his head around towards the trees to his right. There, far in the dense forestry, stood some large thing that seemed to be staring at him. He made to shout at it, maybe get someone else's attention while doing so.
Just as he was about to open his mouth to shout, the double doors behind him opened and the two Herbivores walked out. Louis looked irritated while Zoe looked mildly depressed.
"How went the rehearsal?"
"Poorly. I was right to get this all set up with you. He ate his lines right in front of me there at the end," Louis shot the Goat a cross look. "Would have been better with that hot head Kai," Louis muttered angrily under his breath. Zoe flinched and looked away.
"We should get going," The Grey Wolf prodded the two. "I…," Legoshi looked back to where he had seen the Dark Figure. The forest was no longer dark and intimidating, but bright with the moonlight and quite tranquil. The Dark Figure was no longer there, gone faster than anything normal could ever move.
"What?" Louis snapped.
"Never mind, we should just get in bed. We have school in the morning." Legoshi waved them on and walked them back to the Herbivore Dorms. Once bidding them farewell he left for home.
The Wolf walked between Dorms Two and Five on his way to Four when he felt an overwhelming urge to run. His spine lit up with cold dread and he felt like a truck had slammed into his gut. The Wolf whipped around and looked in every direction. His eyes were wide, trying to catch every bit of light they could while his night-vision worked overtime. His arms and legs shook, his teeth began to ache, his fur stood on end, and his ears picked up a heavy step some two hundred yards behind him.
Legoshi whipped around faster than a bullet and saw a monstrous thing walking across the open ground with a bloody stump in its hand. On the far side of Dorm Five, close to the cliff face.
Legoshi felt revulsion well up inside him and the sudden urge to run became excruciatingly painful to ignore. When the thing looked at him with red-purple eyes, and a maw of needle-like teeth, too many teeth opened up and took a bite out of the limb, he bolted.
He had never run so fast, so very fast, in his life. He cleared the last hundred yards in less than five seconds and almost ripped the doors off their hinges. He slammed them shut behind him and locked them tighter than a fort. Legoshi ran up the stairs, taking them five at a time, and crashed into his Dorm Room door. He flung it open and ignored jack falling out of bed as he ran to the toilet and puked his guts out.
Jack shut the Dorm door and carefully walked to the bathroom.
"Legoshi?" he called out hesitantly.
"Uuugh," the Wolf groaned while starring into the bowl, of which was now filled with his dinner.
"What happened buddy?" Jack walked in and put a hand on his best friend's shoulder. "I haven't seen you run scared like that since that girl in Middle School…," Jack gripped him a little tighter.
"Jack… I think there's going to be a missing person tomorrow morning," he whined. Jack blinked and felt his stomach drop.
"What?"
"Some… thing," Legoshi quivered with revulsion, "Was eating someone's arm… It was near the cliff off by Dorm Five. It… It was horrifying in a monstrous way. It… when it opened its mouth," he looked up at his friend with near crazed eyes, "How can anything have so many teeth!?" He hissed. He grabbed Jack and buried his head in the teen's chest. Jack blinked and sucked a breath in.
His assumption that Legoshi had seen someone die, was close but so far from the mean, it was almost laughable.
"Maybe… maybe the day's just getting to you man," Jack laughed brokenly. He believed his friend, there was never a moment in their lives that they had ever lied to each other about things like this. Little things, birthday presents, sure. But serious shit like people dying? Never.
"Jack…."
"Let's get some sleep buddy, maybe you're just seeing things," Jack said in such a way that it was hard to tell if he was trying to convince Legoshi… or himself.
Jack wrestled Legoshi into his bed and was then surreptitiously dragged into the same bed by the Wolf. Jack sighed and lazily dragged the sheets over them both. The last thing either would have seen had they looked beyond the drawn curtains would be a large black figure staring down at them with hungry eyes. As soon as they lost consciousness the thing disappeared into a black mist.
None of the young men in Dorm 701 would ever know how close they had come to death that night.
