firesale988 asks this question. "Since good ole Marko is here. I'm assuming Courier Six is coming in eventually?" You would be assuming wrong. Six will not show up in Halkeginia. Sorry to disappoint you. He will be important, but won't be showing up.

Lucky was outside of the classroom Louise was in. She didn't want to watch Louise's inevitable failure. It hurt to be reminded where she came from. That the badass Lucky, was a bullied school girl. The door flew from it's hinges into the wall.

Lucky's helmeted face turned to see a soot covered Louise walk out. Louise looked heartbroken. Like she had her favorite toy be torn in half in front of her. Lucky reached an arm out, but pulled it back. She didn't know what to really say.

Lucky wasn't like Six, who seemed to know what to say in any situation. She wasn't like Veronica or Lily, who can comfort a person in need. Hell, Rex can be there for a person better than her.

Coupled that with the fact Lucky is facing herself. It was hard to say those words in the Vestri Court. But that was a moment where both of them were alone and calm. This is a school, and kids are cruel.

"Let's get you cleaned up," Lucky finally spoke up. Putting a hand on Louise's back and guided her away. Her demonic helmet snapping any jeering mouths shut. While Louise was in the baths. Lucky was approached by Siesta.

She shuffled with a blush, but a solem expression. One that Lucky is all too familiar with. She isn't good with interacting with others, but Lucky has seen every type of human expression. Siesta has a pain that she is hiding.

"I wanted to thank you for what you did Ms. Lucky! You really didn't have to do that. Despite barely talking with you. I find myself being curious about you, and I can tell you're a reliable person. I just wish, that we could've had something," Siesta confessed and Lucky stood still.

She didn't know what to think. This type of genuine praise made Lucky feel, warm. Yet she feels like it's not something she deserves. Why should she be happy after committing atrocity after atrocity? Why should she be happy after losing to Marko and allowing him to possibly get away.

The fact is, Lucky failed to kill Marko, and is doing God knows what in the Wastelands. She failed to get hers and Steven's revenge. Frosthill was massacred because Marko wanted to hurt her. The healed holes in her palms are her marks.

While she is thankful for the Water Mages for healing those bullet holes. Lucky feels undeserving of that healing. Undeserving of the kindness that Siesta is showing to her. "Why!? I'm a total stranger, and someone who has yelled and threatened you! I am no better than Guiche! Yet you thank me for doing nothing!? Why?!" Lucky exclaimed, throwing her helmet off and into the dirt. She gripped her pink hair and pulled.

"Because even through all the hurt and pain. I can tell you want to do the right thing. My dad taught me that often people lash out for two reasons. Either they are hurting and have no other way of expressing it. Or are violent people in general. Everyone can see you're going through something. You have the scars to prove it."

"I want to be your friend, and maybe something more. Lucky, I don't know much about you, but I feel like you're lonely, and in need. Please, talk to me, even if it's one last time," Siesta opened her arms out for a hug. Lucky couldn't handle it.

She kneeled for a second to grab her helmet, then she put it back on. Lucky left Siesta alone, and Siesta knew how out of reach Lucky was. Siesta underestimated the amount of scars Lucky had, and how deep they run.

Throughout the monotonous day. Lucky noticed the funeral esque air around the staff. As if someone died. Lucky hasn't seen Siesta since Count Mott arrived hours ago. Lucky stood outside the kitchen. Afraid to ask the question she knows the answer to. Afraid to confront the fact she failed to just fucking swallow her pride and talk to someone openly.

Siesta accepted she was going to leave, but she wanted to at least have some type of bond with Lucky before going. To have her curiosity satiated, and find a new friend. What did Lucky do? She slapped that kind hand away. Kept up the walls, and disregarded everything but her past self.

Lucky's name is ironic. Despite her immense success on the battlefield and her general luck in the Wastelands. Lucky has always failed at being a friend, sister, or mother. Lanius turned out the way she did because Lucky enabled his monstrous behavior, even before Caesar. Many people died because of Lucky's actions. Now, a girl who only wanted to make a friend is gone.

Lucky opened the door and was met with intense hatred. The commoners knew what Lucky's inaction caused. Their silence, and ensuing anger was all Lucky needed to know of Siesta's fate.

When she reached Louise's dorm. Lucky began looking through her bags. Grabbing a machete gladius, Salt-Upon-Wound's Power Fist, and A Light Shining In Darkness. Despite having a few more weapons, ammo, and chems in her bags. Conserving resources is the key, especially with a lack of Pipboy.

Lucky strapped on the Power Fist on her left hand. Put the machete on her right hip. Then, Joshua's 45. into a holster left hip. Lucky left Tristan before Louise got back after dinner.

Lucky was trudging through the dirt path. The rain starting to drizzle. The forming mud and puddles splashed onto her boots. She knows the way to Count Mott's estate. The thought of naivd Siesta with that fat leech gave Lucky so many flashbacks. Of the many fellow Legion slaves, the poor saps The Fiends got their hands on, and many other owners and human pets.

Lucky reached a hill overlooking the mansion. She could easily kill Mott with A Light Shining In Darkness, but with all the guards as well? She would run out of ammo too fast. So she'll use her machete gladius and Salt-Upon-Wounds's Power Fist as her main killing tools. Then, use the holy handgun for Mott and bigger threats.

Like a Nightkin, Lucky went into the shadows. Going through shrubbery to get close to two unsuspecting victims. They talked, and acted like the reaper herself wasn't near them. Because they were guards doing their jobs. This was their normal. All to feed their families and keep a roof over their heads. Lucky steeled herself, going through with turning this estate, into a haunted house.

Lucky grabbed her machete gladius into her left hand. Than tossed it to her right hand. With a flourish, the gladius was in a reverse grip. Lucky pounced, and decapitated the man before he could blink. Before the other one registered what happened. Lucky used Salt-Upon-Wounds's fist, and punched a hole through his chest and breastplate. The rain and coming thunder masking the ensuing carnage.

Lucky dragged the bodies into the shrubs. Then looked at the two guard towers in the distance. Lucky continued her approach through mud and brush. Patrolling sentries were taken out by a quick slash, or were caved in by her metallic fist. Once she was on the side of the guard tower. She spotted two guards on each tower. To keep eachother company, and to see what the other cannot.

Lucky climbed up the ladder of the first guard tower, the machete in her teeth. She reached the top, and watched the guards talked. "Finally! The week's almost over! I can finally head home to Tarbes and see my unc-" He was cut off when a fist caused his skull to explode. Brain matter, blood, bone, and teeth flew in random directions. Lucky slit the other man's throat before pushing him off.

She turned her head to the other guard tower. She jumped off, and rolled across the wet grass. Thunder and lightning cracked, and light up the dark sky every now and then. Illuminating the bloody and gorey remains of all of Lucky's victims, but no one is around to find them.

The last guard tower was disposed of, and the entire outside of the estate became a graveyard. Lucky sat next to a body with a hole in the breasplate and abdomen. Face in horror as death reached out, and ripped his soul right before his very eyes. Lucky knew what she did.

There were easier solutions than this. She could just walk in, and challenge him to a duel. She could've tried diplomacy. Yet, Lucky's first instinct, was to kill. No wonder why Lanius became the way she was. Lucky had temper when she was Louise. The Wastelands enabled her anger, and turned it into bloodlust.

She enjoyed killing those people. Lucky, is a monster, and perhaps she's been denying it by fighting bigger monsters than herself. Justifying all her actions in comparisons. Now, she is the biggest monster around. Lucky, and Marko are no different, and she hated it.

Because now she actually has to evaluate herself.

Now we see the consequences of a bratty, angry, ambitious noble girl thrown into a violent wasteland that rewards that type of behavior. I definitely wanted a different feeling when approaching Count Mott's manor, unlike other fanfics. Most of them were violent catharsis, or sadistic vigilantism.

This was a somber, but secretly sadistic grim reaper approaching her target. Each kill was a human life being ripped away. Families lost a brother, father, son, or husband because of Lucky. Saving Siesta or Count Mott being a creep doesn't justify her actions in the slightest. Lucky committed mass murder, and there is no other way of putting it.

Lucky wants to do good, but her intentions and actions tell two different stories. In pursuit of her goal, she ends up going down a darker path. Despite never having seen it, I took inspiration from Walter White from Breaking Bad. Because Walter White had a good goal, but in pursuit, descended. That's what I had in mind.

Lucky will experience consequences for her actions. Because she made the wrong choice. She will pay the price for this.
