Daímonas leaped off of Zeus' fist and landed in a roll. He jumped up and sprinted towards Thalia's pine. "COME ON! LET'S GO!" He shouted over his shoulder.
'Oh. maybe he wants to help,' Thalia thought.
"THERE ARE MONSTERS TO KILL! IT'LL BE FUN!" He shouted.
'There it is.' She thought wryly, as she climbed down from Zeus's fist. When she got to her old residence, she looked out over Half-Blood Hill. There was a huge army of monsters spread out across the whole hill.
Daímonas was hopping on the balls of his feet. He looked excited. She looked around at the gathered crowd. There were about 250 campers and hunters here right now.
Chiron looked worried. "That is a lot of monsters."
Daímonas grinned. "I know. This is gonna be awesome!"
Chiron frowned. "That's not the word I would use to describe this situation."
Daímonas shrugged. "Whatever." He paused for a moment. "I have a plan!" he exclaimed.
Thalia looked at him. "Do you?" She asked, only a little worried what kind of plan a Psychopath would put forward.
"Alright, I go in and kill monsters," he said excitedly.
Everyone looked at him expectantly. Finally, Thalia realized that was the whole plan.
She slapped her forehead. "That's it? That's your plan?" He nodded, still very excited. She sighed. "That is not a plan. That is a death sentence."
He shook his head. "No, no. I can take them. I've had worse odds."
Thalia looked at him in disbelief. "When?" she asked, exasperated.
His face darkened and everyone instinctively leaned back. "A long time ago. Near the beginning." he stayed like that for a moment before brightening again. "Anyway, I think that's a good plan, how 'bout you guys?"
They all looked at each other. Chiron is the one who spoke. "Um… won't you need help? You can go in and destroy what you can, and the rest of us will help you."
Daímonas contemplated that for a moment. He shrugged. "I guess." he unsheathed his swords. He gave a grin that made everyone shudder. "Let's go kill some monsters." and with that, he ran off, cackling all the way.
The campers weren't too far behind him. The majority of the hunters stayed back, taking out monsters from afar. Most of the Apollo kids stayed back as well, but a few ran with the rest as field medics.
The campers all had armor on. Most of them also had shields in addition to their weapon of choice. Thalia was leading a small group of hunters into the fray, wielding her spear and shield.
Daímonas was in the middle of the fray. He ducked and dodged, hacked, and slashed. He was a whirlwind of destruction. A whirlwind that let out deranged laughter every so often, but still.
He stabbed a cyclops in the leg and used the sword to swing himself up to its eye and stab it. The cyclops let out a wail before dying. He dropped onto a dracaena and sliced off both of her snake trunks.
Without killing her, he moved on, jumping and spinning mid-air before throwing one sword into a cyclops and slicing another dracaena in half. All of that in about 7 seconds.
He stabbed a hellhound through the skull, threw another into the mouth of a drakon that had arrived, pulled out the heart of a giant, fed aforementioned heart to a hellhound, and sicced the hellhound onto a group of enpousai.
It was hard to watch, and that was only what Thalia could see out of the corner of her eye while she fought. Most of the time, she was too busy fighting or he was too fast for her to see what was happening with any clarity.
Eventually, he found the monsters' leader: Krios. The Ram. Daímonas stood before him, barely panting. He wasn't intimidated by Krios in the slightest. He called out to the titan, "KRIOS!"
The titan turned. His eyes landed on Daímonas and Thalia could have sworn he paled slightly. "Ah, Daímonas! What a… surprise," he called back.
Daímonas cackled. "Miss me that much, huh?"
Krios shook his head, doing his best to look confident. "No, no I have not."
Daímonas pretended to pout. "Ah, c'mon man, I thought we bonded. You remember, right? Uh, hold on I can't remember." he squeezed his eyes shut and put a hand to his head. The sword that used to occupy it was in the remains of another victim.
He seemed to remember what he was trying to say. "That's right!" His demeanor changed immediately. "You tried to gouge out my right eye." His voice was deadly calm, in stark contrast to his earlier joking attitude.
He chuckled humorlessly. His body seemed to be changing. "Almost did it too. This close." He held up his thumb and pointer finger, mere millimeters apart. "So close."
At this point, all fighting had stopped. Everyone could feel the power rolling off of Daímonas in almost literal waves. It had been sunny out that day, but the sky was starting to darken with clouds.
One of the giants seemed to break out of his reverie, somehow. It raised its club and moved to strike Thalia down. There was nothing she could do. She was frozen in fear just like everyone else. Everyone but the giant that is.
It started to swing its club. Thalia closed her eyes, accepting her fate. But nothing happened. She slowly opened her eyes.
At first glance, the giant seemed fine. Then she looked closer. The giant's face had turned blue, along with most of its body. It opened its mouth and a spike made of ice crawled out.
Everyone looked at Daímonas. To say he was glaring daggers at the giant would be an understatement. There was something off about it though. More than usual anyway.
Thalia looked him up and down. There was something off about his whole body, relatively speaking. He stood taller, his cheeks were fuller, and he had more muscles and body fat.
The most striking difference was the eyes. The eyes were no longer poisonous green.
They were dark sea green.
