They arrived at Saint Kitts in the mid-afternoon. They were staying at Sugar Bay Club Suites & Hotel. It wasn't where the rest of the people attending the wedding were staying, but that was booked out. They got a two-bedroom cottage on the hotel lot.
Bram finished unpacking his clothes. Garrett burst into his bedroom. "Okay, so I couldn't get invites to the bachelor party," Garrett said. "Or the bachelorette party. But I managed to get the location of the bachelor party through Facebook. It's at the Marriott St. Kitts Beach Club."
"Do we need to go to the bachelor party?" Bram asked. Bram didn't recall seeing that on the list of things he had to report on. Big parties like that weren't his scene. He's already told Garrett he doesn't want anything big when he gets married. Garrett comprised a small get-together at a bar.
"No, but getting some extra information might make us look better," Garrett said. "It might lead to a promotion. Besides, you know I'll never miss a chance to party. So put on your dancing shoes, and let's get going."
The bachelor party was held in the pool area. A lot of people were at the party, so Bram blended into the crowd. He sat at the bar, taking notes for his article. He had been sipping on a bottle of Moon Shine for an hour. He wasn't planning on getting drunk that night. He needed to be sober to make sure Garrett got home safely.
Someone had slid into the barstool beside him. "I'll take a glass of water, please," Simon said. Bram turned around to face him. Simon turned around as well. "Oh, hello, Bram. How are you?"
"I'm good," Bram said. "I didn't know you were going to be here."
"I didn't know you were going to attend, either," Simon said. "Nick is one of my closest friends. I'm his best man."
"Nice," Bram said. "I've been asked to write an article on the wedding. Garrett is supposed to be a photographer, but I've lost track of him. I just hope he isn't doing anything too stupid."
"I'll keep an eye out for him," Simon said. "Maybe we can meet up before we head home."
"Hopefully, we can after the wedding," Bram said.
"Toga line," the DJ announced.
"I have to go," Simon said. "Best man duties. It was nice seeing you again."
"Same here," Bram said. Simon walked away as Bram took a long sip of his beer.
The next day was the wedding. The wedding was at Romney Manor. The wedding was in the yard, and the reception would be inside. Nick wore a traditional black suit, along with his groomsmen. Abby wore a large princess dress with sheer sleeves. Her bridal party wore ankle-length baby pink dresses. Bram thought Simon looked sexy in his suit.
After the ceremony, everyone went inside. The sun was starting to set. Abby took off the large skirt, revealing a cocktail dress. Bram made himself a plate and sat at the bar. He took notes of the festivities. It felt more like he was watching a film than an event he was at.
He allowed himself to get a bit tipsier. There wasn't too much to report on. Garrett was somewhere, taking photos. Simon sat at the bar, ordering a drink. Bram couldn't tell what it was, but it wasn't water. "Hey, funny seeing you again," Bram said.
"Yeah," Simon said. They started to talk while they drank. They shared stories of their lives before this point. They ordered more drinks as the night went on. Bram had a sudden urge to kiss Simon.
"You know, you look so gosh darn hot in that suit," Bram slurred.
"Abby and Nick rented rooms upstairs for their wedding parties to stay tonight," Simon slurred. In less than ten minutes, they were in one of the rooms. Bram had slammed Simon into the wall. Simon hooked his legs around Bram's waist. The party was going still going on downstairs, but no one seemed to notice that they were missing.
Bram's lips latched onto Simon's neck. They forgot all of their worries. They just needed each other that night.
