The Choices we make can be difficult. It's almost like you are walking down the road and come to a four way stop. You've just came from the south direction and now you have to decide if will either go to the left or the right or continue heading north. Choosing the correct path for yourself can be totally different than it would be for someone else. When Tommy learned that his parents were going to throw a ball, he knew he'd be taking a different pathway than his father. He knew this ball was in order for him to choose a wife. Even though he was of age and had no plans of getting married yet, his father wanted him to find a wife. Tommy wasn't locking himself into choosing a princess. If he married, it was going to be for love. The only problem was that he hadn't met a girl that he truly loved after his ex-girlfriend left him for another boy. Ever since then, he was hurt and was afraid to let another girl get close him. But, something changed today after he met that beautiful girl in the forest.

"Mom, dad, I wonder if I could marry a sweet and honest girl from the country-"

"-how could a girl from the country provide the kingdom with it needs," Ivan interrupted as he walked back into the bed room. "Have you all forgotten that we live in a small kingdom and there are many dangers that lie right outside these walls."

"We have one danger that happens to be within these castle walls," Tommy remarked as he glared at Ivan. "And that danger is you."

"Why you little-"

"-Ivan we asked to leave the room," Jan reminded him as she left out a cough. "And you are still hanging around. I'm going to ask you nicely this one time. Please leave our bedroom and don't come back in here at all. And we also want you to leave Tommy alone."

"Have it your way!" Ivan barked as walked out of the room and slammed the door behind him.

"Tommy, your father and I have been talking about the ball ever since you went to get your hair cut," Jan began when James prompted up her pillows. "We have requested that every girl in Angel Grove will attend. We hope this will allow you to find the girl of your dreams."

"Really?!" Tommy gasped with a smile. "I hope that girl I met today will show up. If you met her, you'd really like her."

Kimberly road Lacy home through the village, but she stopped when she saw her friend Trini. She rarely saw Trini now due to her stepmother and stepsisters keeping her so busy. And they wouldn't even allow her to invite her friends to visit.

"Hi, Kimberly," Trini greeted as Kimberly got off her horse. "It's been a while. How are you?"

"I'm doing okay," Kimberly answered.

"You don't look very well," Trini stated. "Why do you stay with Rita and your two step sisters? They don't treat you good at all."

"Trini, I know this sounds odd," Kimberly answered taking a deep breath. "Before my parents passed away, I promised them that I'd cherish our home because we were all happy there. My parents loved that house and I love it because it has always been my home."

Suddenly the royal crier come out. It was very rare that you'd see the royal crier unless the king had an announcement for everyone.

"Hear ye, hear ye!" called out the royal crier as he pulled out a scroll. "In two weeks, there will be a royal ball. On the day of the ball the prince will choose his bride. The prince has requested that all girls in the kingdom attend, no matter what type of background they come from."

As soon as Kimberly arrived home, she told her step mother and step sisters about the upcoming ball. Elsa and Cassidy were wanting meet the prince of Angel Grove. Cassidy had planned on telling the prince about how rich she was, hoping for him to marry her. But, Elsa had a different idea. She thought the prince would choose her because she was prettier than Cassidy.

"Girls, I expect the prince to fall in love with one of you," Rita said. "How could he say no to one of you?"

"I will make a good princess-"

"-no, Elsa! I will make an even better princess than you!" Cassidy argued as she pulled Elsa's hair.

Rita turned and saw Kimberly was still standing in the doorway. "You have work to do. Why are you still here?" She hissed glaring at Kimberly. "Wait...I mean why are you still here when you should be going to seamstress and request that three fancy ball gowns are made."

"Really!" Kimberly gasped as she started to smile. "Thank you, it was very thoughtful of you."

"What are you even talking about?" Rita asked raising an eye brow.

"I am happy that you are going to let me go to the ball," Kimberly smiled. "I can't wait to go-"

"-I'm afraid you are mistaken," Rita answered in a cold voice. "The other dress is for me."

"Poor little Emberly you would only embarrass yourself," Elsa remarked as Cassidy let go of her hair. "Do you honestly think that the prince would want someone who is flitty and stupid like you?"

"Good job, Elsa," Rita bragged as she took a sip of tea. "I couldn't have said it better myself."

"I have no desire to meet the prince," Kimberly replied honestly. "I just want to go see my friend that I met in the forest."

"Let me make one thing very clear to you!" Rita shouted as she got up from her chair and stared to shake her finger in Kimberly's face. "You will not go to the ball. I want to make things very clear to you. One dress is for me and the other two dresses are for my two daughters. Emberly, go the seamstress now. Every girl will be heading to see her now! I want you to be the first one there before she gets booked and can't make a dress for anyone else."

Kimberly turned and walked out of the room and headed towards the door. Finster met her by the front door. "I am going to see the seamstress," Kimberly said as she walked out the front door. "Rita wants a dress for herself and my step-sisters."

"You deserve a chance to go," Finster replied as they started to walk down the drive way. "If Rita isn't going to let you buy a dress, you could make dress for yourself."

"Finster, you're a genus!" Kimberly beamed as she lifted him off the ground. "I have one of my mother's dresses that I could fix up!"
