Dear Lord, this took forever to write and it's not even that long.
To the person that said 'Alabama 100', I would like you to know that I am from Alabama.
Also, I didn't go back and read the book so this part is a little iffy.
GINNY
That Nico kid was kind of freaky.
She wasn't completely sure why it was that she was so bothered but there was just something about him that gave her the chills.
If one were to think that this would stop Ginny from trying to find out more about him and his less freaky cousin, then one would be wrong.
She watched as he stormed out of the room in a sort of silent fury and the room became quiet.
Percy stared down at the table, not looking up as Nico walked out of the room. He had a weird look on his face that Ginny couldn't decipher.
Ginny looked back at the other occupants of the table.
"I'm sorry," said Tonks. "I didn't mean to make him leave."
"It's fine," Percy assured her. "He just- he doesn't like people."
There was an awkward silence.
"I'm just gonna-" Percy pointed in the direction his cousin went. "go see if he's alright."
More silence.
"Well-" Fred started.
"He's just a-" George continued.
"Ray of sunshine-"
"Isn't he?"
They weren't dignified with a response.
Percy returned a second later without Nico and sat down, continuing to eat his food without glancing at the rest of the table.
They stared at him for a little longer before simultaneously deciding that he wasn't going to say anything.
"So," Harry started. "Earlier, when the Order was still here, you were going to give me information about Voldermort."
Out of the corner of her eye, Ginny saw Percy perk up, though he didn't raise his eyes from the table.
"Now," Mum said. "I don't think it's necessary to restart that conversation. I think it's about time for bed anyway and-"
Remus interrupted her. "Well, Molly, I think we should go ahead and let him get the information he was promised."
Mum huffed but then looked directly at her. "Ginny, upstairs, now."
Ginny glared at her and opened her mouth to say something when another voise spoke up.
"Why should she have to leave?"
Eyes turned to Percy. Mum startled like she'd forgotten he was there before answering him. "Because she's too young. None of them should be hearing about it at all."
"OK let's backtrack. Who is Voldemort exactly?"
Hermione gasped. "How do you not know who he is?"
Percy looked at her. "I live in America," he deadpanned.
Hermione flushed slightly, embarrassed. Fred and George snickered.
"Voldemort is a terrible guy who started a war many years ago, was defeated, and then came back," Sirius simplified.
"So I'm assuming he wants to start another war, yeah?" Tonks, Remus, and Sirius nodded. Mum still had a sour look on her face. "Well then, shouldn't they know what they are up against? If I know anything from my experiences as a teenager then I know that keeping them in the dark isn't going to help. It's just going to make them unprepared for what's coming when they inevitably become curious enough to sneak off and do something completely unapproved."
Percy sat back in his chair and crossed his arms. Harry was looking at Percy with a mix of gratitude and something else that Ginny couldn't place.
Mum started sputtering. "Well, I-, they-, they're still too young to be involved."
"That argument is completely invalid because I've done stuff when I was younger than them and I turned out fine."
"I beg to differ." Percy was the only one who didn't flinch at the sound of Nico's voice. He simply gave him the finger without turning around. Mum gasped, scandalized.
Ginny turned and saw the boy leaning against the door frame, hunched in on himself.
"Also, how old were you all when the first war happened, because I'm willing to bet that you weren't that much younger. How was he even defeated the first time?"
"He broke into Harry's house when he was a baby, killed his parents, tried to kill him, and failed," Ginny said quickly.
"Why did he fail?" Percy turned to look at Harry. "Seeing as you were a baby, I'm gonna assume that it wasn't something you did."
Tonks shrugged. "We don't know."
"Alright then," Percy turned back to Mum. "Isn't that all the more reason to let Harry and his friends know what's going on because Voldermort probably had some sort of grudge against him and would target him and his friends?"
"He already has," Ginny blurted, before cringing slightly as everyone looked at her.
Percy pointed at her. "That seems like a personal story so I'm not going to ask."
Thank Merlin.
"You know, Molly," Dad started hesitantly. "The young man has a point."
Go Dad.
"But we don't even know him," Mum scolded, voice bordering on hysterical. "He could be the enemy for all we know."
"You know I'm right here."
Mum didn't bother acknowledging him. "He could just be trying to see what information we know so You-Know-Who can plan better. We never confirmed that he wasn't a Death Eater."
"We didn't?" Fred and George asked in unison. Mum turned to look at them, seemingly realizing what she had just told the room.
"I thought it was implied that I wouldn't want to eat death."
The whole room looked at him in confusion.
"Somehow I think he doesn't even know what a Death Eater is. I mean, he doesn't even know who Voldemort is so," Ginny stated, ignoring the flinch from her mother when she said the name.
Harry raised a hand. "Can we get back on track and talk about what Voldemort is actually doing and what the Order is trying to do to stop it?"
Sirius turned his full attention to his godson. "He is . . . looking for something. Something he believes will help him win the war and the Order is trying to protect it."
"What's he looking for?"
"Well-"
"He doesn't need to know that part." Ginny was completely unsurprised when her mother interrupted and it seemed her siblings were of the same mind.
Ginny could practically feel Percy's eyeroll.
(Seriously, how could anyone think this guy was a Death Eater? He acted like a normal teenager to her.)
"Didn't we just have this talk?" George said, seeming uncharacteristically annoyed.
Mum gave him a look and he backed off.
Smart.
"How about," Mum started. "We all head to bed now. I'm sure everyone is very tired."
"Actually. . ." Ginny had to give it to him. Percy didn't he pause under the fierce glare that is Molly Weasley's. "I'm really not that tired. It's probably the time difference."
Ginny was almost completely sure that her mother wanted to strangle the kid, but she simply took a deep breath and said, "Well. How about you lie down anyway and wait until the drowsiness hits?"
It obviously wasn't a question.
Percy looked like he was about to say something else before his eyes looked over in Nico's direction and he closed his mouth. And with that all the children were sent upstairs.
(Though you can be assured that it was not without more complaints. This time from the terrible twins.)
