A/N: One minute, she's in Wonderland and the next, she's in flying out on a magic carpet ride

Chapter 06

"We're on a magic carpet!" Uma shouts as the wind whips through our hair.

Clutching the glass slipper in my hands, I look over at her. "What other fairytale artefacts are there that we could find? Because I'm still not sure how we're going to get Henry off the throne of which is our priority."

"Henry?"

"Hans of the Southern Isles' son. He took over the courts at Auradon and used the villains to make Ben to surrender the crown." I feel the carpet change direction, heading someplace else. "Where are we going, Jay?"

Jay raises an eyebrow at me. "We can't walk back into Auradon with the very thing that Henry's after. So… I figured we would hang out at my alley. Regroup and decide a plan."

I like the decisive nature It's admirable to see him taking charge of the situation. The magic carpet lowers us down near his little region of the isle that he keeps as his own. A painted snake on the slanted roof makes it very clear who is in charge of this place.

As the three of us sneak into the building, I find Uma laughing at me. "What? Why are you laughing"

"The pair of you. It's cute."

"Be quiet, he'll hear you..."

"And you're wearing his kit," she replies, using her tone to sound like a statement and a reminder. "So what? Go talk to him." Uma gives me a swift push towards Jay. She gestures at me to keep going, winking at me.

Jay picks up a large wooden crate and turns quickly, nearly ramming it into me. "Woah, Georgie. Careful." He smiles broadly, making me do the same.

"I'm anything but careful Jay- you should know that..." I reply nervously, watching him put the crate on the table, putting the glass slipper and magic carpet inside. "Can we talk, properly?"

"Sure, one sec..." Jay goes over to the window, reaching out onto the guttering and pulling himself up onto the roof. "Are you coming?"

"Time isn't exactly on our side, but what's wrong with a few minutes of timeout?" I laugh nervously, climbing up onto the windowsill, seeing Jay leaning over the ledge to help me up. "Thanks." I perch on the roof beside him, leaning away slightly. "Now I don't know about you, but lately- and I mean really lately, I've been thinking about things."

"Same!" Jay says with a smile that makes me roll my eyes. He's messing with me "I think about stuff all the time."

I stand up unsteadily, sticking to the metal supports. "I don't want to admit it, but I was actually jealous of Ruby when we met her in Wonderland."

"Jealous? Georgie, why?" He rolls backwards, bringing himself up onto his feet, and turning me to face him in the smoothest, slickest movement. "You've nothing to actually be jealous about. She's... she's..." His hands brush my arms tenderly.

"Crazy?" I laugh softly. "What I mean is… I'm jealous of her because you like her. And I like you!" My eyes widen at the sudden outburst. "Oh god. This is too embarrassing to deal with. I can't believe how soppy I'm being right now. I'm bumbling right now too, I'm talking way too much in order to fill in the silence, and that's probably because I'm terrified of what the answer might be."

"Answer?" Jay's hand slides around the back of my neck, up to my head, pulling me close to kiss him.

It's a good first kiss for us.

"Good answer." I giggle when he stops. "Very good answer." I throw myself up at him, hugging him tightly. "I was so nervous that you were just going to say you were only being friendly. Because it's happened before. Embarrassingly enough, it happened between me and Ben when we were kids. I never saw it coming and didn't have a clue how he felt. He stopped talking to me when I said I didn't feel the same way." I let go of Jay, feeling the excitement bubbling up in me. "I sort of feel like dancing because I'm so happy, which seems really inappropriate when Auradon is in turmoil."

"Ben is counting on you to recover the fairytale artefacts, but I still don't know how we'll get the crown of Auradon off your ex-boyfriend."

I click my fingers, producing a little snowflake. "I know what to do... We'll give him the artefacts we have."

"That seems like a bad idea, Georgie."

It is a bad idea, because I'm adding myself to the bargain too. Henry won't be able to look past my deception, but I don't want to betray Jay's trust either. Though I know Jay will never allow me to go ahead with it, so I choose to keep him in the dark.

"The other artefacts- Ruby didn't have them, which means someone else does. If we assume that Henry has been acquiring the others, he'll be more desperate to have the ones we have. I don't understand the point of the lizard though. That one has me stumped."

"It's a long story, but it's Mal's mum."

"No way... That's insane. That's Maleficent?" I slap a hand gently on his arm. "Let's hit Auradon again. Show Henry what we've been up to. Uma, it's time to go. How are you with skating?"

-o-

Though I shouldn't have, we slide along the bridge with my ice and I lead the way to the palace hall where I assume that Henry will be holding the others. He has Mal and Ben sat on the floor either side of him. Madam Mim hovers over his shoulder behind the throne. I nod to Uma, signalling that I was about to do something reckless.

"Henry, boy have you been slacking in developing strong security measures. You made it far too easy to escape. I prefer the challenge." I bow dramatically to him, taking the crate from Jay and placing it on the floor. "I've got something you want. Fairytale artefacts. Ones to add to your collection."

Henry claps his hands, standing up slowly. "You clever, clever thing, Georgiana. And you even managed to get minions to do it for you." He extends his hand out to me, which I obligingly take. "There's a proposal I have for you."

"You want me to be your queen? I thought you'd never ask." I put a sickly smile on my face. "Auradon and Arendelle will be ours together."

Henry laughs, lifting me up in the air. "Perfect. Perfectly perfect, Georgiana. So what will your first order of business be as queen?"

I smirk. "I've always wanted to see the artefacts, but I also really want to send the villains back to where they came from. They don't belong here and it undermines our ability to control Auradon. It looks as though you need them here to maintain control."

"God I love your brain," Henry sighs, snapping his fingers. "Madam Mim- you heard my queen. Gather up the villains. Take them home. And do not open you mouth to argue, my word is final! Do it!"

A cheerful giggle escapes my lips that I am disgusted by. "Excellent Henry. Seeing you in command. It's like you were destined for it, and not just on one of the Southern Isles. Now show me where the other fairytale artefacts are."

"What about them?" Henry gestures Ben, Mal, Jay and Uma. "We can't leave them here."

I feel terrible for doing what I'm about to. "First, we'll strip Uma of the shell, and Mal of her blue stone." I wrench Uma's necklace from her neck, twitching in the corner of mouth to prove it's all for show. "Come on Mally, let's have the stone now." I widen my eyes in a swift pulse, showing that it's all a plan. "That's a good little villain kid. I think I'll keep these for myself."

With the stone in my back pocket and the necklace string poking out of the other one. I walk towards Henry standing by the door, stopping beside Jay. "I'm sorry Jay, I guess I just have a thing for men in crowns."

Even though it looks like he might hit me, I pull him into an embrace, whispering in his ear, "Back pockets, little thief."

Henry didn't hide his envy at all well and growls, "Georgiana, come along."

"Of course, King Henry." I smile falsely, shuffling to greet him, linking arms with him and throwing an apologetic look over my shoulder. "That felt so good!" I exclaim loudly.

He nods, leading me around the castle where unfortunately I realise that I don't know my way well enough to tell people where these artefacts are being hidden.

"Well, well, well. The ice princess returns."

"Harry!" I yelp, caught off guard. "The old team back together again, right Henry? Henry, Harry and Georgie. Dream team!" I grab Harry's hook, jerking him closer. "Come on Henry- show us where the fairytale artefacts are hidden."

My enthusiasm was a little too much. Henry looks suspicious. He clenches his fists. "This was all a trick, wasn't it? You thought you could weevil your way into my heart and I'd lap it all up. Now give me the necklace you took from Uma."

I go to put my hand in my back pocket, flinching when I only find the stone belonging to Mal. "It's not there. They took it! Henry- go and get it back!"

"Not anymore... You don't get to play me like that twice." Henry lunges forwards, grabbing me by the neck. "I'm going to finish this once and for all." He drags me back to hall where the others have grouped together to execute a plan. "Greetings everyone. What a delight that you are all still here. Now Georgiana is going to have to make a very tricky little decision."

The four of them back away from Henry as I'm thrown across the floor.

"Henry- this is my fault. None of them knew what I was doing. You have to believe me."

"I believe you, but that doesn't mean that I won't force you to make a decision you'll live to regret."

"What is it?"

"Before you are four unsuspecting victims. One of which is going to feel the burning cold."

"No... I won't do that."

Henry walks around the four of them. "Will it be your childhood bestie? Or perhaps the daughter of Maleficent? Perhaps little Uma will meet her end in ice, or maybe it's down to little lover-boy? If no one wants to volunteer, then perhaps it's down to you."

Ben steps forwards. "I'll do it," he says, despite the protests of the others. "It's fine guys- it's a sacrifice that I have to make."

"Excellent! Well there you go Georgiana. You know what to do."

I look at Ben with a heavy heart. "Ben, I can't do this to you. You're my friend."

Ben's eyes shine and look glossy. "It's okay Georgie. I forgive you."

I charge up the ice in my hands, seeing the snowflakes spark from my hands onto the floor. "I'm so sorry..." I give them all an apologetic look, shaking my head, fighting against my inner thoughts. I try to make a decision, on the cusp of making one and choosing one of them. Until I snap. "No! I will not be your weapon anymore, Henry!"

I turn my hands onto myself and release the icy charge into my chest, watching the blue ice glowing from my body. Blue icy veins start to sprout from that point. The cold hits me and I collapse backwards, caught in strong arms.

"I can feel the cold." I shiver violently, seeing Ben crouch down beside me. "Looks like my plan didn't go according to plan." I turn to look at the door, seeing Harry deliver one hell of a punch in Henry's direction. "Harry Hook- powerful right hook."

The skin on my left arm starts to look blue and icy, like a crystal. "I need you to let me go, Jay. You too Ben. This time I've reached the end of the line. I don't want you to become ice too." I push Jay away with my other hand, seeing the ice spreading along it. "Jay, please."

"Not this time," he whispers with watery eyes. "Just be quiet, Georgie." He holds my body close to his chest. "Is there anything we can do for her?"

Mal speaks first. "I'm sorry Jay, but even the ice is stronger than my magic. My dad could, but we already owe him one."

"Hey," I whisper, putting a hand on his cheek. "I'll be okay. So will you, Jay." I put an arm around him, feeling my body stiffen. Movements were beginning to hurt. "I think I'm about to freeze. This is it. Thank you, Jay, for-" I let go, trying to smile as the cold consumes my body, locking me in place.
