Everything about this idea made him want to run away and hide. Izuku was beginning to realise maybe he wasn't cut out for this kind of business after all. He had a major issue with what they were doing right now, and it wasn't as fun as Toga had made it out to be.
Currently they both found themselves running for their lives through some back alleyways, Toga leading the way due to Izuku having no idea where they were or what direction they were heading. He was struggling enough to just keep up with her as she ran ahead of him, cackling and hollering like a crazed lunatic, which he was seriously beginning to believe she was.
"Hey you two, get your asses back here! You killed my friends, so now it's time for you both to get your skulls caved in!" Izuku heard a voice call out from quite a distance behind them.
He was still in disbelief at the what had just transpired a few moments ago to have them in this situation in the first place, running through the back alleys toward what he hoped was the inn (He decided that it was what he was gonna call it from now on.)
Toga had come to his room a couple of hours ago as he was wondering what he was going to do with himself for the rest of the day, inviting him to go outside with her to have 'some fun,' as she had put it. Feeling bored, Izuku had agreed to go out with her, and she seemed genuinely surprised at the response, possibly thinking he'd just refuse and ask her to leave.
It wasn't just because he was bored though, All for One had also asked him to get to know everyone a little better before coming to a decision whether to join the League or not. On the way to some random deserted location, Toga told him that they were going to meet some people, and then steal something from them. Simple, right?
Turns out, that couldn't be more wrong. When they reached the area, Toga pointed out that there were a lot more than she was expecting. By 'a lot more', there were about fifteen of them. Most of them carrying some kind of weapon, be it a gun, a baseball bat or a crowbar.
She handed him a hat and a pair of sunglasses, telling him to put them on to hide his identity from them. Getting closer, he spotted a man flanked by to huge, bulky men in suits. One of them carrying a briefcase, and the other some kind of automatic rifle.
Izuku had begun to panic, wanting to back out at this point. This had not been what he had signed up for, but Toga kept closing the distance, a wide, manic grin spread across her face. She walked straight up to the man in the middle, pulled out a knife and thrust it right into his throat. Before the two bigger men had time to react, they both received a knife to the head each, all while the middle man spluttered and choked on his own blood for a few seconds before collapsing to the ground.
Izuku's eyes widened as he watched the scene unfold. Toga was now beginning to throw knives at the men carrying guns, nailing them with extreme accuracy. "Can you fight, little kiddie?" she asked as she brought another down.
"A-a little!" Izuku replied, not quite sure what else to say at that moment in time.
"Good!" she called back. "Then look out behind you~"
Izuku whipped round just in time to see a crowbar being swung at his head. Surprising himself with how quickly he reacted, Izuku managed to roll swiftly out of the way, pop back up and land a side kick to the man's gut. He dropped the crowbar, which allowed Izuku to pick it up then, without a second thought cracked it over the guy's head, knocking him out cold. A pool of scarlet red began to form at the point of impact, causing Izuku to think the guy was dead.
Dropping the crowbar, he turned back around to see what Toga was doing, but instead had found himself being tackled to the ground and held down. "The fuck are you doing, kid! You better not have killed him!" The guy holding him down clenched his fist and brought it down, Izuku instinctively moving his head out of the way, causing the man to punch the concrete instead.
He hissed in pain as he wheeled back for another one, but stopped, letting out a quiet grunt, eyes widening in shock as he stared down at Izuku. After a small whine, he collapsed to the side, letting out a final breath, and then silence.
Izuku quickly scrambled to his feet, seeing the knife in the back of the man's neck, but noticed it was connected to a long wire, which led directly back to Toga. A quick tug, and the knife slipped out of the man and flew straight back at Toga, who caught it gracefully, only to send it in another direction into the chest of someone else running at her holding a baseball bat.
Izuku just looked around at the bodies scattered on the ground, the one that he put down catching his eye again. Walking over to him cautiously, Izuku heard the faint sound of shallow breathing coming from his mouth, and let out a sigh of relief. He wasn't sure what he'd do with himself if he'd actually killed the guy.
A few hundred yards away, he heard a scream of pure agony, causing him to turn his attention back to what Toga was doing. She had someone in an armbar of sorts, twisting in snapping it in various directions. Izuku cringed at the sounds the guy was making, believing that Toga was going a bit overboard.
He quickly made his way back over to her, trying to gesture that she should leave the poor man alone. Considering he'd just seen multiple dead bodies surrounded by pools of their own blood, the thing that finally caused him to violently throw up, was the sight of the man underneath Toga.
Both his arms and his legs had been snapped in various places, the bones sticking out at awkward angles. The man couldn't even scream any more due to the pain of what had been done to him, just making long whining noises instead now.
Finally, which Izuku was thankful for, Toga placed a hand on either side of his head and gave it a sharp and violent twist, snapping his neck and putting him out of his misery at last. Izuku looked at Toga in horror, seeing her covered head to toe in crimson blood. He couldn't believe what had just happened, but he didn't have time to think, as the sounds of vehicles could be heard coming closer.
Toga grasped his arm, pulling him in the opposite direction of the approaching vehicles, scooping up the briefcase on the way. "Hope you've got some stamina left. We got ourselves some running to do~" she said, before letting him go and taking off.
Izuku was left stunned for a few seconds, before the sounds of gunfire behind him snapped him out of it, and he hurried to try and catch up.
Which took them back to their current predicament, stuck running through alleyways whilst men in vehicles chased after them with guns. They were managing to stay out of sight for now, but he wasn't sure how much longer they'd be able to keep it up, especially with the noise that Toga was making.
After a few more minutes of running through the maze of alleys, Toga suddenly came to a stop, gesturing for Izuku to move into a building next to them through a small window just above. She gripped the briefcase tightly, before launching it straight through the window, the sound of shattering glass drowned out by shouting and engines nearby.
Toga gestured for Izuku to go first, but he was reluctant, with shards of glass still protruding from the frame. She shook her head disbelievingly at him, before going herself, hopping up and grabbing onto the frame. She quickly began to knock the rest of the shards off the frame, before slipping through the now completely open window and disappearing from Izuku's view.
Taking one more glance around, he quickly followed behind her, hauling himself up and through the small space. He wasn't expecting such a big drop, as he quickly tumbled about nine feet onto the floor below.
Landing heavily on his right arm, Izuku began to cry out, but was quickly shut up by Toga's hand covering his mouth. Sounds of running footsteps could be heard on the other side of the window where they had just entered, cries of "hurry up and find them" and "I want their heads on a plate" were some of the things people were shouting.
Considering the amount of gunfire, shouting and overall noise they were making, he was surprised that there was no police or heroes in the area, especially with it being run down and a more common place for crimes to take place.
Heaving and gasping for breath, Izuku slowly stood up, clutching his arm and wincing every time he moved it. Toga had regathered the briefcase after throwing it through the window, and was now wandering around the warehouse-like building they had found themselves in.
As he was beginning to get his breath back, and the adrenaline was starting to decline, Izuku's memories of the events that had just unfolded came flooding back to him, and he felt the overwhelming urge to throw up once again. So much blood, and bodies. He himself had even caved a man's skull in with a crowbar. The thing was, he was breathing lightly when Izuku had gone to check on him, so there's a good chance he was the only one left alive out of the fifteen that he'd counted when they arrived at the meeting point in the first place.
Izuku wasn't used to the sights that he saw that day, and he certainly wasn't as used to fighting as he probably should have been, considering the fact he trained every day as well as getting beaten up every day as well. He could take a punch no problem at this point, but him throwing one back was highly unlikely.
Toga, still covered in dry blood, seemed completely unfazed by what had happened, and he supposed he shouldn't really be surprised, considering she was the one who instigated the massacre in the first place.
What was the point of it all? From what Izuku gathered, she had just done it for fun. Killing was a funny joke to Toga, and it didn't look like there was any other reason for her to do it. Sure, all those guys were carrying weapons, but they couldn't claim self defense if the police somehow figured out their involvement, especially considering they were the ones that started it. Well, Toga started it, but Izuku would be guilty by default, especially since he got involved at one point as well.
"So, little kiddie, how was your first mission?" he heard Toga ask from behind him, causing him to whip round to see her a few inches away from him. He yelped in surprise, stumbling a few steps back before falling to the floor once again. Rather than help him up, Toga decided to laugh at him instead. "It was fun right?"
"N-no. It was horrible. You killed so many people!" Izuku cried out. "I might have killed someone..."
He had no idea if the man he'd struck was still alive or not, so for all he knew, he'd just committed murder. Toga came over to him, knelt down and stared at him with a condescending look on her face. "The first one is always the hardest. You'll get used to it eventually." she said, the sarcasm evident in her tone. "Now come on, do you wanna head back now, or have some more fun?"
"I-I think I wanna go back now." Izuku replied quietly. He just couldn't bear the thought that he might have murdered someone, and it was starting to eat away at him. Maybe he really wasn't cut out for this after all.
"Oh, come on. You can't start crying about every person you kill, little kiddie~" Toga said. "If it makes you feel any better, you'd probably be dead yourself if you hadn't done it."
It didn't make him feel better at all. It just made him feel even worse, because if he hadn't had been there in the first place then the man wouldn't have attacked him, and he wouldn't have had to defend himself the way that he did.
"You mentioned yesterday you love your mother, right? What if that guy was attacking her, would you still feel bad about what you did?" Toga asked.
Izuku thought about it for a moment. Had his mother been attacked by that man; would he feel bad for striking him on the head with a crowbar in order to save her? The answer? "No, I wouldn't feel bad about it at all." he replied, causing a smirk to grow on Toga's face.
"So, from now on, think of every fight as your mother being in danger, and then you won't have any regrets~" she told him.
Whilst what she said made sense, he couldn't just pretend that Inko was there and in trouble any time he had to fight somebody. But, if he died in any given situation, he wouldn't be able to repay her and provide for her after everything she had done for him.
His mind started to ease the more he thought about it. Had he not managed to fight back against that guy earlier, he'd be dead, and his mother would have no one left. It felt strange, being at ease after possibly murdering someone, but it seemed to be a feeling he'd get used to eventually if he were to continue on this path.
"So, let me ask you again. Do you wanna go back, or do you wanna have more fun?" Toga asked.
This time, Izuku didn't hesitate. "Sure, let's go do something else."
