Chapter 6

"This isn't possible, I watched you die" Thor softly said, not sure how to feel.

"I was dead for days until I was brought back," Coulson said looking around at all the hurt and confused faces.

"How were you brought back, that isn't possible?" Natasha said, crossing her arms not moving.

"That is something for another time" Maria stepped in,

"Right now we have other matters to attend to" they all whipped their heads to her.

"I think we all deserve an explanation Hill" Natasha snapped,

"And you will get one, later" Maria snapped right back.

"Someone better explain this now" they turned to the yell from Tony who was white-faced looking at Coulson.

"Mr. Stark," Coulson said with a hint of a smile opening his mouth again before Tony cut him off

"No, you don't get to say anything unless it is how the hell you are here right now"

"Tony this isn't the time" Maria tried but he just glared at her too.

"It's okay, they need to know everything," Coulson said the last word to Maria and she just shrugged.

"Fine tell them Phil" she sat down and crossed her arms waiting.

Coulson explained how Fury used the T.A.H.I.T.I project which was meant for them but ended up saving him, how it drove him mad until they found the last piece of the alien puzzle. He then told them about how he discovered how he was saved, with Skye being shot and having to find the drug that saved him to save her.

"Wait what do you mean Skye had been shot?" Tony said quickly and everyone looked at him, Coulson gave him a confused look.

"We were on a mission and she went in alone and got shot twice in the stomach to force my hand to find out what they did to save me or watch her die so they knew I would save her no matter what" Coulson said watching Tony carefully. Tony rubbed his jaw while everyone looked at him in question.

"Stark, why was the Shield team at your cabin?" Coulson started to put the pieces together.

"I was letting Skye stay there, Fury's cabin was compromised so May asked me to take her somewhere else. So I took her to my cabin which no one knew about until now, and until May betrayed Skye and let these Shield people track her location." Coulson's eyes lit up

"Where is she?" he said hopeful but Tony shook his head.

"When I got there three agents were down, she was defending herself. She didn't mean to hurt them, but then some person came and took her. Someone powered I couldn't get to her in time" Tony walked over and poured himself a drink.

"This powered person, was it a man? Did he have blue energy around him?" Fitz asked, coming up beside Coulson and Tony nodded.

"Yea he took her away she mentioned him visiting her while I wasn't there, his name is Gordan" Tony downed his drink then poured another one.

"Have you encountered him before?" Maria now asked and Coulson nodded.

"Skye wasn't the only person changed on our mission, this Gordan took her and Skye's father away" Tony shot his head up at that.

"What do you mean her father?" Coulson gave him a confused look.

"Her father was the reason Skye went into the temple, he has been tracking her ever since she was taken from him" Tony opened his mouth but Coulson held up a hand.

"It is a long story Tony and if Skye wants to share it with you she can once we get her back"

"Fine but we have no idea who he is or where he took her," Tony said and Coulson and Hunter shared a look.

"Yea we were about to jump on that before Hill called." Coulson took a long breath.

"We think the way to find Gordan is Hydra" Steve narrowed his eyes at Coulson,

"Hydra was destroyed" Steve stated

"Actually they weren't. There were a lot of rats that didn't go down with the ship. Hydra has been doing operations and we have been trying to take them out. We found out though that Hydra has been looking for powered people and giving them to Strucker to experiment on" Tony's face went white with rage.

"Do you think this new Shield is Hydra? Is that why they wanted Skye?" He asked quickly but Coulson shook his head.

"I don't believe they are Hydra, but they did go after Skye first which makes me worried, especially since you said May betrayed her that isn't possible?"

"Well, that is what Skye said, that May let them track her phone to get her." Tony crossed his arms, drink still full.

"There is going to be an explanation for that I am sure. May would never betray Skye" Coulson said looking to Fitz who was now worried.

"Who are they?" Steve finally said nodding toward Fitz, Hunter, and Mike.

"This is agent Fitz, Hunter, and Mike. They helped me escape and are helping me find Skye" Fitz awkwardly waved a little at the Avengers.

"Agent Fitz, nice to meet you Skye told me a little about you and how you are a genius with mechanics" Tony smiled at him, Skye also told him what happened to his brain as well.

Fitz smiled shyly nodding his head,

"So will you help me? To find Skye?" Coulson asked Tony,

"I already have Jarvis scanning the area she was taken and working on something to track the other powered person" Tony said casually. Grabbing a tablet from the counter,

"Thank you Tony really" Coulson started but Tony just shot him a look,

"I am doing this for her not you, you should've told us no matter what Fury decided on. We deserved to know '' Coulson looked around and saw the hurt in everyone's eyes he knew Tony was right.

"You are right I should've but you guys needed the push" Clint seemed to snap at that storming over to Coulson and punching him.

"You had no right to keep this from us, you or Fury" Clint yelled at him and Mike jumped in front of Coulson before Coulson put his hand on Mike's shoulder

"I know and I am sorry for that, but I am here now Barton and what's done is done" Clint just stormed off Natasha following, and soon after Thor did as well. They were left with just Steve, Tony and Maria.

"What leads do you have on finding Skye" Steve asked Coulson calmly,

"Well there is someone who could find her with Hydra contacts, but he is our bad option" Maria narrowed her eyes.

"You don't mean," she said but Coulson nodded.

"Yea I do, Grant Ward will be able to find her" but Tony and Steve shared a confused look.

"Who is Grant Ward?" Steve asked,

"Our bad option, Skye's old SO and also Hydra agent. He sort of has a gift of finding her" Fitz flinched at that.

"Am I missing something there?" Steve asked again, this time Hunter spoke up.

"He kind of kidnapped Skye twice before" Tony whipped his head to Coulson,

"He what? And this is the guy you want to help you find Skye? Someone that betrayed you and has kidnapped her twice before? Are you insane!"

"Like I said it's our bad option" Steve just shook his head.

I HAD TO ADD WARD BECAUSE I LOVED HIM LOL
